Walked in here for dinner and got seated right away. A few minutes later, live music started. Abbey Road is a Beatles themed restaurant with different Beatles memorabilia around. Ambiance was nice. Lively vibe. Our server was nice too. Shrimp scampi was bland to me. Surf and turf was steak and shrimp (broiled or fried) and it was not flavorful. Giving this place a 3/5. Enjoyed splitting the Lobster Mac and Cheese and Nachos Supreme with my coworker last night at Abbey Road!! We arrived after 9:00PM and they had some great late night live music and were thankfully still offering their full menu even though we arrived later in the evening on a week day. Abbey Road is themed in The Beatles and John Lennon and decorated very cool and unique . The staff was amazing and the road was mediocre . I got their signature hamburger and it was decent , I'm sure it's just as good here than anywhere else you would go unless you like seafood and there are plenty of seafood restaurants along Atlantic Avenue. read more

The reviews are totally made up. So disappointed. My "fish of the day" was flounder. It was grilled with some blackening. My side was black beans and rice. So the fish was so old, not only did it not taste edible, but after I got home, I puked it up till it was completely out of my system. The beans and rice were so dry I couldn't even eat them. No juice at all. It was the worst meal I've ever had. When I told the server, she replaced my meal with a baked potatoes, but still charged me for the whole meal. Wow! The good thing about this place is the nice, attentive staff. My waitress was really nice, attentive and informative. Unfortunately, nothing else. When we walked in, the place smelled really old; like we were walking into someone's grandparents house. The food was horrible. The best meal was the shrimp kids meal and that was the best by texture, not flavor. Nothing here had salt or any type of flavor. My husband ordered the marinated steak. For the price, it was really really small, not mention flavorless and tough to chew like jerky. I got fried fish that was just as flavorless and dry. Love the Beatles ambience! Abbey Road is like a cool British pub without trying to be. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. The menu is very extensive including many gluten free options. The beer selection is probably the best in Va. Beach. We enjoyed the food and dining experience at Abbey Road so much that we ate here twice on our four-day visit to Va. Beach. My favorite thing about this restaurant is the atmosphere. It's very chill and cozy feeling. There was some live music while we were there, and it was really good. There was an extremely loud group that left not long after we got there, but that's not any fault of the restaurant. I had the Cajun pasta and it was okay but not what I was expecting, I wouldn't get it again. I would definitely come back to try some of the other menu items though. My friends and I came here for dinner around 8:30 on a Thursday night. We originally sat outside but a big group of people stood next to us and were smoking so we moved inside. Our server Najir was fantastic, attentive and prompt with a welcoming and fun personality! My husband loved his She Crab Soup! I devoured my grilled chicken with cheese and bacon sandwich which needed no toppings because it was tasty enough on its own. I loved having malt vinegar on the table for my fries! My wife and I have been coming here for years, whenever we are on vacation in VA beach. Last time we were there, I had the shrimp tacos...the shrimp were not very good, but it happens, it's seafood. Well, this time I ordered the peel n eat shrimp...they weren't cleaned at all...not a one. I've had peel n eat shrimp before, and they were always cleaned first...perhaps they should call them "peel, clean yourself then eat" shrimp...and they were pretty small too. We stopped in for a Sunday lunch before heading out of town. It was not very busy. My boyfriend has a lot of food allergies and we learned that the owners family is celiac which is why there was such an extensive gluten free menu. They have separate cutting boards, friers and cooking areas to make sure no cross contamination. His aunts had the fish tacos which they loved! The menu offered a Rueben so I was in for that, and it wasn't bad at all, not at the level of Rosie Connelly's in Richmond, but still good. Taps offered a variety flavors and styles, so no shortage of options for beverages. Service was good and prompt after we ordered. The do have an upstairs dining area we couldn't get to, appeared to be closed maybe due to the time of day. The only pool table they had was $2.00 a game, so kind of a deal breaker for us - still a decent pit stop and walking distance from many of the local districts and shops/eateries. read more

This was a great find! Pet friendly, if you don't mind eating at the outside tables, and dog got a nice cold water bowl to boot! I had the blackened Mahi sandwich with onion rings, and it was delicious!! A cup of the seafood bisque (which was so good I'd have licked the cup) rounded out the meal perfectly. Mom had fish tacos and that looked awesome, too! They also have an attendant to help you back out if the parking lot, which is great, downtown parking is always a little extra challenge, so it was much appreciated! It's across from the boardwalk, too, so you could take a stroll after lunch/dinner, and right now there are Christmas lights for the season, so make a night of it! read more

The fact that I remember our server from two years ago can give you an idea of the positive impression they left the first time. I loved the vibe here so much I came on Saturday and Sunday for my two day drink to VA Beach. While I was shooting pool with my dad on Sunday (they have one pool table here that cost $2.00 in quarters per game) there was an older gentleman that looked in awe of the place and walked over to us and asked if we minded if we would be on video because this is the coolest place he had ever been in and was taking a video of the entire interior of the restaurant. The restaurant is all Beatles themed as you probably could fathom by the name of the restaurant if your any type of a fan of this iconic group. They have an extensive drink menu, I went with a Pina Colada to cool down as it was in the low 80's at the beach and finished it in under two minutes with no brain freeze to boot, maybe this Beatles restaurant mystic vibe does carry some dare I say supernatural powers? J/K I was very close to achieving the brain freeze and do not recommend chugging a Pina as fast as you can. What about the food? Went with the She-Crab soup which is popular in the VA beach area and the South. Unfortunately the soup was not loaded with crab and wasn't even that hot, what a bust for a $9.99 bowl of soup. Lobster Mac N Cheese was a bust as well, now I did order this to go and had it the next day but its just not worth getting at this restaurant sorry to be the bearer of bad news but if you are only looking for run of the mill Mac N Cheese to each their own. Grilled Tuna - I snagged a bite of this off my dad's plate and it was very fresh and quite delicious. If you ask me the portion size could have been bigger but they served up two pieces and most important is quality not quantity when you are serving up anything for us foodies in the Yelp Community. Oysters - Ordered half a dozen of Oysters the next day and I will tell you these had no flavor what so ever total bust. In summary, great place to stop and have a couple of rum runner's, margarita's, or drink of your choice while watching a game on TV, shooting pool, or listening to classic Beatles era music. I am very glad I spent some of my time here while on vacation if I could do it all again I would just not order those god awful oysters : ) As always people SYOY!!!! read more

I've visited Abbey Road three times in the last three days. The first visit I was very shocked. Being from the 757, I've been to a lot of the local gems, but always passed by Abbey Road. Came in during lunch time with a friend and it was quiet, yet relaxing. I was overwhelmed with how big the menu was, so many options to choose from. I started with the Rum Runner, which was the perfect summer drink. When it came to ordering food, I was torn between the Jambalaya or any of the Jerk Chicken entrees. I went with Jambalaya and it was good. However, I think it was missing something that would have taken it over the top. My friend had a burger and she said it was cooked to perfection, but the French fries were bland-but hot and crispy. She also had the Lucy in the Sky drink that she claims "will transport you to a tropical island." Day 2: Since I was torn between the Jerk entrees, I did a to go order the next night and ordered the Jerk Chicken Caesar Wrap. The wrap was fine, but there seemed to be a lack of "jerk". Just tasted like regular chicken, was looking for something with a kick. Also, my side salad just seemed like they threw something in the box. Barely any effort on that part. Day 3: Another friend said she had heard about this place so I put on a brave face and went for a third time. This time I just played it simple and got steamed oysters and the chicken tenders, they were decent. My friend ordered the crab dip, but their crab dip was different (which should be told at the time of ordering). It's not an actual dip, they stuff their dip into the bread pieces. She also said it lacked flavor. Overall, I would come back. They just have some strong areas and some weak areas. read more
