I'm 53 years old and have been loyal to three different dentists in my life - who have all retired. I walked into ABC on a fluke just to have a checkup. Myself and my family are now loyal patients. I have nothing but POSITIVE things to say about EVERY aspect of my visits. Dr. Sam is truly a craftsman - and by far the most sensitive and personable dentist I have ever met. I met him once for a checkup - then came back a year and a half later because of a cavity. In that time, I have lost over 40 pounds. When I came in, I started to tell him about my tooth and he said, "Hold on... look at you. You look amazing. How did you do it?" Okay, this man met me once, as a dental patient, and he had the ability to remember what I looked like and the class to compliment me. You don't get much cooler than that. I know some people would say, "so what" about something like this but to me it's huge. More importantly, Dr. Sam is an outstanding dentist! A man of science and an outstanding craftsman. I've had two crowns because of cavities over the two years and did not need root canals. And I'm sure my most dentists will tell you need them just to put money in the drawer. Didnt happen here because I didnt need them. Also, I just had two crowns put on my two front teeth because of previous breakage and chipping and wear. A very big deal because I am a camera actor - and they look absolutely amazing. I could not be happier. And as far as the rest of his staff, all top notch. Personable and very professional and skilled. I can't even imagine a job where I have to put my hands into people's mouths day after day - and still act like a pro and be sensitive to the person attached to my mouth. TOP-NOTCH. And I've read a few of his Yelp reviews where people have criticized his office staff as being "rude." I dont get it. They are all very sweet and attentive as they can possibly be. Perhaps the people who criticized may want to remind themselves, you get back what you give. I would VERY VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND this office if you're in need of a long-term dentist who is highly skilled, has all state of the art equipment - and will remember you and treat your like a human. read more

I visited this dental office after seeing the reviews on yelp. Although they weren't full five stars it seemed still really good. Now I feel like the rating now is too good. I had an issue where one of my crowns had fallen out. And right away he explained the issue of why it would not be able to be re-cemented. He never took an x-ray, it was all in barely visual check. Then he was telling me about having to remove the tooth and either put an implant or a 4 tooth bridge. Both procedures are very expensive. I went to another dentist near (Air Family) which had me fill out paper work (here at ABC they did not), they did an X-ray and the dentist there took a much more closer look. Was able to give me more of an explanation, saw things and explained the situation and didn't give me an attitude (ABC did), the consultation alone at Air Family was $19, and explained the cost which was SUBSTANTIALLY less expensive and a much easier procedure. ABC dentist pretty much was doing nothing and was ready to have me pay thousands and after all that he looked at me and says "what's your problem" with an attitude. My first visit here was certainly my last. If you visit this dentist immediately go to a different dentist for a second opinion. read more

Dr. Sam is a dentist that truly takes pride in his work. He takes his time to explain everything to you and there are never any hidden fees. I recently needed some adjustments on my night guard. I called the office this morning and I was told to stop by anytime. I was shocked that I didn't need an appointment. I waited maybe 3 min and out came Dr. Sam! He made the adjustments and told me that anytime I need to adjust my night guard to feel free to stop in anytime. I also wanted to mention that he did this free of charge. I've been a patient here since 1993. Dr Sam is an excellent dentist and his staff is wonderful. It's nice to see the same faces in an office for the last 23 years. They are kind, polite, and professional. I've always been greeted like I'm a member of the family. I do not live close by but I make the drive. For me, the comfort that the staff and dentists provide, in not so pleasant situations, is worth everything. I even decided recently to have braces put on my teeth and was impressed with the information and care I received from dr Sam, dr ferrera, his front office staff, and back office staff. I just moved out here and needed a dentist - so based on reviews I picked Dr. Sam. I went to the office today for a routine check up and he was just amazing! He really does a good job to take care of you and doesn't waste too much time having you wait. I'm a student - and he even waived my co-pay because I'm a student. The technicians and the dentist are great and very friendly. However, the main admin comes off rude but if you are patient she can be sweet. I think its just her personality not her being rude at all. I would highly recommend him as a dentist! read more

Today was my third visit to Dr. Sam's and he is absolutely the best dentist I have ever used. I'm ashamed to say, but it had been about 25 years since I had been to the dentist, so, my teeth really needed help. It took two cleanings to get them up to speed and Dr. Sam convinced me to break out the electric toothbrush I bought 5 years ago and use it. And, today, I'm glad to say, he found my gums were dramatically improved. Today I went in to start replacing the fillings I've had since childhood (I'm 53 years old now.) and not only did it go better than what I remember from childhood, but, they've installed televisions at every dental station so, you can distract yourself while they do the work. My first trip to the dentist was when I was 8 years old (I'm 25) and I got 2 silver fillings. Had not gone back until I was 19 only for a cleaning. I got a tooth ache so I tried a dentist near home who charged my insurance only to tell me she couldn't extract my tooth and referred me to another place where I was being charged $400 to extract a tooth even though I have great insurance.. and that was exactly why I continued to avoid the dentist. My friend recently recommended ABC dental and everything she said about it was correct. He was nice and friendly and his staff were very helpful and cordial. He told me I didn't have any cavities like I was previously told, did a full xray on a standing machine that didn't make me gag like the rest of them do, and did a deep cleaning all without a copayment! I couldn't believe it! He also told me it was time to replace those silver fillings I got when I was 8 and said he would replace them with ceramic fillings when I was ready. When the procedure was completed, I got a fancy goody bag with an electrical tooth brush and other maintenance related things. Needless to say, I made my follow up appointment to get my fillings replaced AND even made an appointment for a consultation for braces - which I have been avoiding my whole life. I had a great experience at ABC Dental and definitely recommend it to anyone afraid of the dentist or all of the fees involved. read more

I have been a patient of ABC Dental for almost ten years and have had the greatest experience here. The doctors and assistants are great and are like family. I had my braces put in at this office, I come every 6 months for cleaning and check ups; it's always great to come here. They are also great with kids. Dr. Sam and the whole team are so kind and compassionate. I'm from out of state and returned from my travels recently to USA. My retainer broke and I obviously couldn't go back to Chicago for a fix. So I had to find the closest dentist near by and this place had good reviews. I told them my incident and they kindly opened up an appointment for me. 2 hours after I called, I was received by Dr. Sam at the front desk and he ask "was it difficult to find the place?" And I was required to fill no paper work. He saw my retainer and told me not to waste my money fixing it because it still works perfect as long the gum part isn't broken. Only the mental wire was broken. Now how kind of him to crazy glue my retainer back together and give me an honest cost effective professional answer. When I move to California I'm definitely going to him because you can always trust an honest doctor. He didn't charge me anything for the advice and it took all of 5 minutes on a work day. I know it's cliche, but I had been avoiding going to the dentist for about 3 years because I have had nothing but miserable experiences at my previous SoCal dentists. Now that I live in Burbank, I decided to give a local dentist a try. Using online reviews, I found ABC Dental and Dr. Sam. Not only did they schedule me quickly, but they took their time diagnosing my horrendous tooth pain over a few emergency visits -- the pain was radiating throughout my jaw and other teeth, so it was difficult to pin down which tooth was causing problems. In fact, I actually ended up pointing at the wrong tooth! Instead of doing (and charging for) needless procedures, they calmly waited until the proper diagnosis became clear, and then immediately provided the root canal. Now I am pain free. Not only has Dr. Sam and his whole office been so kind and accommodating to me -- a new patient at that -- I can tell they treat the rest of their patients with that same respect. I feel confident that I have found my long-term dentist, and plan to send my friends, colleagues and neighbors there as well. read more

Dr. Sam is the kindest man I have ever met! He truly cares about his patients and will do everything possible to make you comfortable. It's clear he's not interested in trying to milk you or your insurance for all you're worth. I've had dental anxiety my entire life and it's led to some unfortunate problems with my teeth, but Dr. Sam was very understanding. I called about emergency tooth pain on a Monday, got in for the initial consultation that same day, and was scheduled for a root canal in the morning. The procedure was painless, but they encountered a complication because one of my roots was calcified. Dr. Sam explained my options, told me what he thought was best, and listened to my input. We came up with a plan, and because it involved me going to a specialist to complete the root canal, Dr. Sam didn't charge me anything for the work his staff already did! I have no dental insurance, so that was huge! The pain is gone and so is my dental anxiety. I can't thank him enough for how much he's helped me. worst orthodontist ever. i went to get a new retainer and thought they would at least get my teeth to move back to the impression they took but NO. they talked to me like i was stupid and proceeded to talk in another language in front of me. very unprofessional and after i had already paid for a new retainer. they then told me that i had other options to move my teeth back. WHY not tell me that in the first appointment? since thats what i wanted and it was clear. the doctor also said he doesnt like perfect teeth, he likes them a little crooked cause it adds character. then why is he a orthodontist? read more
