Days prior to the job, Bhavesh personally came out to walk through each detail of the project patiently, assisting me with which products to buy and more importantly, which to stay away from. While the home had its own structural road blocks, the team seamlessly came up with solutions to make everything work and look exactly as we planned. Even though it required more of their time, they were priced extremely fairly for the amount of professional work they put in. It was a bit of a tricky job due to the trim being arched, which meant it had to be traced and cut appropriately. I had the pleasure of contacting David, whom I asked several questions of how he would go about the process and I felt very comfortable with everything he walked through. He scheduled the work for a couple weeks out, text notifications let me know when he would be arriving and he was able to complete everything within a few hours. David cut the replacement beautifully using PVC so there is no maintenance on it in the future and caulked / sealed up all points of exposure to rain. He was very efficient, kind, and answered all the questions I had since I'm learning to do these kinds of tasks on my own. Once he was here, we asked him his opinion on two wall switches in a different room that were not working, and he stayed longer (while I ran to Home Depot for new toggle switches) to fix both of them as well for just a little more added to our total. The fan install was a little more difficult than Ted anticipated, and it was an insane night in our home as well (my husband's car was at the shop and he needed it for work the next day so we had to get that taken care of while Ted was here working) - I'm sure he thought we were nuts, but he was very gracious and understanding about everything! The end results look great, and I am SO happy our light switches are working again - all of this was done for a third of the cost we were quoted by someone else to just do the install and paint the office ceiling (we ended up doing the painting ourselves anyway). Budget Handyman…read more Tyler is a soft spoken guy and respectful. When I first met him he seemed trustworthy, but my experience with Tyler was not good. Therefore, I want to make some points that may help you if you are thinking of hiring him. First of all, Tyler sometimes cancelled his appointments to do work, and when he did not cancel, he was always late. I received many excuses from Tyler for why he could not come, including that he was sick with food poisoning, that he was having car problems, and that he was having problems with his phone. He was very apologetic when late, but he rarely texted or called to let me know he would be late. Furthermore, he would tell me he was going to get lunch and come back in about a half hour, only to come back close to two hours later. All of this would not have bothered me if he had completed the work adequately and there had been no other problems. I hired him to do sound proofing on a wall, and he did a good job on the wall. However, while working on the wall he accidentally got drywall mudding on the ceiling. He then attempted to fix the marks on the ceiling by painting over them. The problem was that even though he tried two shades of paint, he failed to match the color, which left me with two shades of paint on the ceiling.That's when things went wrong. I suggested it might be easier just to paint the whole ceiling since he couldn't match the color, and he responded with a text saying my ceiling was not covered in the payment and if I needed the ceiling repainted I would have to pay extra. Even worse, he claimed there were scuff marks on the ceiling that weren't his fault, despite the fact that my entire condo, including the ceiling, was painted before I moved in in March of this year. In other words, he made a mistake and then blamed me instead of fixing his mistake. Unfortunately, I had already paid him for the job at this point, and he never did fix his mistake. Please take this into consideration before you hire Tyler, so that you don't have an experience like I did.
