This company saw an opportunity to take advantage of me. period!!!! I had 5 separate TV boxes, set aside for paintings and 2 flat screen TV's I got one flat screen TV yet the box says 2Tv's on it. they took the rest of the boxes for some other move I would imagine, my paintings came scratched and free With nothing around them protecting them what so ever, I had antiques broken, they didn't care what so ever. This was the first of two moves I had to make in two weeks. The WORST moving experience I have ever had. First they showed up with a truck so small, (I could have gotten a larger one at UHaul) even though I told them the size of my house and the amount of furniture I had. It took 10 HOURS to load their truck, (three movers were supposed to show up, only two did) and three hours to unload (with the help of my grown kids and friends). As the last yelper said, the two movers spent a lot of time talking and arguing with each other. The worst part of the move was the damage they caused to my furniture. EVERY piece of furniture was damaged; tables have scratches, nicks, chunks of wood chipped off. (All of my furniture was less then 4-years old and now needs to be replaced). When the move was over they presented me with a bill for $1,500!!!!!!!!!!!! (I was told on the phone the cost would be $120 an hour with three men). And...... they took zero responsibility for the damages. Dishonorable, Unreliable, Unprofessional!! I am making sure to write this review to save other Yelpers from the headaches they caused me. Worst of the worst. Unprofessional. Any company you see on yelp is better than these guys. 1) They dropped and damaged my conf table...I specifically asked for 3 guys and explained how heavy my conf table is. 3 showed up on the day and i told them again how heavy it is, but 1 guy just stood watching and the 2 dropped the table. I dont know why I paid for 3 guys if the 3rd guy wasnt going to help move the heaviest furniture. 2) no gloves, no plastic wrap, no furny pad...the table slipped out of the movers hand and he dropped it. If he had a better grip by using gloves or wrapping it in plastic, which they had in their truck, he wouldn't have dropped it. 3) their damage liability is only $0.60 by the pound. If this was explained to me prior to signing the agreement, i would have paid more for insurance coverage but I was never informed. Not over the phone nor on the moving day. My conf table was $5800. But they only sent me a check for $180. read more

ABC Movers was great. I used the Yelp deal (Los Angeles Movers is the same company) and saved money and they were professional, fast, and careful with all of my belongings. They wrapped, padded, and protected furniture and put all of my little bags and boxes in bigger boxes that they moved. I had Mihai and Damir and they were wonderful. My new apartment was on a hill so they could not move the truck up the hill and had to use handtrucks and carry all of my stuff up the hill on a hot day! I felt bad but they got the job done. They took a few breaks because it was so intense but they made sure to remove all the breaks from the total time it took. Even though it ended up taking longer than I expected with the hill and the inability to drive the moving truck up closer to my apartment, it was way more efficient than it could have been if I had friends help me. ABC Moving Systems helped us do a short move in March from Thousand Oaks to Ventura. I used them two separate weekends. The truck is smaller - not the huge 18-wheelers that do the cross country moves, and we filled the truck both weekends. I do love that the truck has the little elevator lift so they simply wheel or carry an item onto the lift and push a button to go up (and then reverse to move items off the truck at your destination). They give you five wardrobe boxes free of charge for your use. I don't recall using them the first weekend, but I know we used them the second weekend. The crew was on time, courteous, friendly, and got the job done in a timely and professional manner. I had a three-man crew the first weekend and a two-man crew the second weekend. I feel that the prices charged were quite reasonable and the move was affordable. The only tiny quibble I have is that they did not wrap all wood furniture before placing on a dolly to go down the stairs or out to the truck - I believe most items were wrapped on the truck. I didn't like seeing my wooden Pottery Barn bedroom furniture coming down the stairs on a metal dolly with no padding of any kind. That said, I noted only minor scuffs on furniture, no major damage. There was a lamp put on the truck at the last minute that I don't believe was wrapped, and one of the shades broke. I had been taking all the lamps in my car so that probably should not have gone on the truck in the first place. But hey, I broke two lamps transporting them in my car. I believe a few of my plastic bins put on the truck ended up with smashed lids or smashed bottoms due to the weight of the stacked bins - but everything arrived at the destination, and as far as moves go, the amount of damage was absolutely trivial. I have never had a move, whether cross-country with professional packers putting everything in bubble wrap - or a toss-stuff-in-the-car-and-go type move - where something was not damaged. In my book, ABC Moving Systems came out way ahead in the percentages. Given the reasonable costs and the timely manner of the moves, I would choose them again without hesitation. I did my own packing, but the guys were nice enough to tape up some untaped boxes for me without charging me a packing fee. I appreciated that. They were also very good about disassembling and then reassembling furniture at the destination, particularly bedframes and desk/china cabinets with hutches. They took extra time to help me stabilize a mirror that mounts on my bureau and even helped me remove an 'in the way' bracket from a stud in the garage. They were careful to position the furniture where I asked them to, and delivered the vast majority of the packed boxes to the correct rooms at the destination house. If you are considering them for a local move, look no farther. read more

We used ABC Moving to transport our furniture from our home move. The entire process was professional, excellent service and easy. We have never hired a company to move, choosing to do it ourselves typically. But this was a bigger move than we could handle. Everything about the service was excellent. The quote was timely, professional, thorough and detailed. The moving team showed up on time the day of the move and quickly went into action, breaking down furniture as needed, wrapping and protecting things, and loading up the truck to maximize space while being careful with my belongings. Once at the storage unit they quickly and carefully unloaded everything. All of the movers were pleasant and professional. I cannot recommend ABC highly enough. They were scheduled to arrive at 7:00 and exactly at that time the three movers arrived. They packed my fine crystal with great care and were deferential to moving my art objects. When I mistakenly packed my purse with my car keys on their truck, they were contacted to return and had to unpack much of the truck for me to get my purse. They were so kind in reassuring me that it wasn't so good terrible. Everything arrived in perfect condition and my final bill was much less than the maximum amount quoted. read more

When they had questions, they asked me, and I appreciated that. We had a local move and packed up our own boxes and personal stuff, but hired ABC to do all the heavy lifting. They were on time, friendly, and moved our stuff quickly. They finished early and we received a pro-rated credit to our pre-paid estimate. One of our china cabinet interior shelves did go missing, but to their credit, they found it on a truck several days later wrapped in some blankets and returned it to us. It was a little bit scratched but it is not that noticeable as it sits inside the hutch. Other movers may have tossed it in the dumpster days later, so we were grateful to get it back. I recently retired and needed to move my office furniture (couch, desk, a table, a chest and a few boxes) to my condo in Santa Monica. Setting up this move was very easy and really appreciated a call the day before to confirm. Alex and Juan showed up right on time, were professional, friendly and quite efficient. When we got to my condo, my couch would not fit in the elevator. The guys were non-plussed and proceeded to take the couch down three floors of stairs. For a while it appeared that the couch was not going to fit through the last door. Again, they remained calm and determined, finally figuring out the correct angle to use to fit the couch through the door. Then they spent a good deal of time reassembling my desk. My legal name during the move was my male birth name. Not my current legal name or my nom de plume. 2nd, When I ordered the movers, correct, it was a two week window. We had to reschedule back because my roommate was in crunch-time with his company, and needed to work that weekend. Sadly on the move day he was still forced to work a half day. (programming) 3rd, the movers used an excuse that the apartment was too dirty, because there was a dead bug on the TV stand, and the guest bath and extra room which were not to be moved were dirty. The Job was a set of metal shelves, boxes with books, and electronic items, and collectible gaming related material. Much of which was left behind, as I had to move everything myself in a uhaul. He complains about the low ratings, and doesn't take responsibility for his employees actions. For shame. He blames it all on another company, which I'm not convinced is not his old business name. ----Edit: Me thinks Mike doth protest too hard. When dealing with yelp, most people know one or two 1 star ratings happen from time to time. We hired ABC for a recent move in LA. I loved the main staff - Richie, Scott, and Mike. But on the day of the move, things fell apart. The moving team had a lead fellow, he seemed OK, but the rest of the crew were his childhood friends that he recruited to help with the move. As they arrived, he gave them ABC Moving t-shirts. Some of them came late and did a poor job packing. One of them broke some of our furniture and packed fine china haphazardly. Also, the boxes were used, which we were not expecting. Some of them smelled awful!!! So, I also ended up paying for the moving company to take away the disgusting boxes. At the end of the move, the lead mover over-billed me significantly. After two rounds of billing revisions, the bill was revised re-iteratively to an amount was still more than I was originally quoted. So, I give ABC 3 stars only because Richie, Scott, and Mike appeared to make an effort. That being said, there are a lot of moving companies out there. Choose carefully! read more

ABC Moving was right on time at 6 a.m on a Saturday. The 2 man team was fast and efficient. Additionally, they wouldn't let me do anything to help, which is why I paid them in the first place. Overall they were careful with all my stuff, & didn't notice any damage that would irritate me to any degree. People questioned why I paid for services when you can get family & friends and rent a truck & it is cheaper. Because I want it done and be on to the next thing. And I want it done my way!!! Took 7 (yes, SEVEN) hours for a 1bed 1bath 600sf apartment unit move to the new apartment only 15 miles away. They were over 3 hours late for their next appointment after me too! The two movers talked A LOT!!!! WASTED time talking, chatting with each other and tried chatting me up as well. Additionally, one of the movers did all the moving, half the time, while the other one stayed upstairs just hanging around. Overall, one of the movers stood around, they both wasted so much time talking, and they argued several times with each other right in front of me - the customer. I wound paying double the max estimate. I wanted to cry. Their marketing ploy is an A+ rating with the BBB. But, that was absolutely misleading. Had the pleasure of working w/ ABC on our recent office move. Scott got us set up and was helpful as the scope of what we needed changed a little as move day got closer. The estimate was very fair and proved to be accurate. The crew - Gustavo, Dominic and Danny - were great and easy to work with. They thought stuff thru and packed the truck to facilitate our 2 stop move. They were on time (actually a wee bit early, which was great) and the move proceeded without a hitch. This was my wife's and my first move together. We had a few heavy pieces of furniture to move from the second story of our condo to our new house so we called upon ABC movers for help. The movers, Chris and Terry, showed up on time and did a great job. Our furniture pieces were extremely heavy and our stairway was tight, but these guys did a great job. They didn't scratch or bang any of the furniture or walls up. In fact, they did an excellent job of wrapping all the furniture up. These guys had a great attitude and worked very fast. Glad I did, from the day they moved me out two and half months ago (condo restoration) and moving me back into today, all of my interaction with them has been exceptional. Every step they take is quality; boxing, wrapping furniture, loading and vice versa when returning. They are very fairly priced considering the great service I received from them.
