We had an error code "FF" come up on our 6 year LG fridge. The freezer didn't stay cold and the ice and water dispenser wasn't working. This all happened 3 days before Christmas where we were hosting our family party. I called several places through Yelp. All of them charged a fee to just come out to provide a quote. This made sense but was a bit frustrated that nobody would give a "rough" quote since I knew it was a fan issue. Clearly I had to "trust" that they wouldn't rip me off especially being last minute and near the holidays. So I rely on the Yelp ratings and go with lowest price for a visit. ABC Service was very professional and came out the next day! I got a text when they were on their way and showed up exactly on time. Very professional all way through and gave a reasonable quote within what I expected. They needed a part so had to come next day. He spent a lot of time cleaning out dust, animal hair in the vent under my refrigerator. He did not charge me for the visit to come out. Had a good experience with ABC Service. My fridge water dispenser started leaking slowly and intermittently. Contacting them was easy via Yelp (they responded very quickly) and someone was at my front door two hours later. He inspected the fridge and told me that the water valve need to be replaced. He had one in stock but would have to come back the next day. We picked a time, and he showed up the next day and quickly changed the water valve and all is well. They were response and quick, and they have a cool text messaging system that told me when the technician was on his way to my house. read more

Called for fixing my Kenmore elite washer. The call was answered promptly and technician visit scheduled the next day. Technician arrived within the time window and diagnosed the issue in about 20 mins. All good so far. However, the price that he quoted me to fix the issues was overly expensive IMO. The technician told me that the rotor and the position sensor needed to be replaced. The price he quoted me was $500+ for parts and labor. I looked up the price for the rotor and it is between $100-120 for the OEM part. The position sensor is about $30. The rotor is held to the drum using a single bolt in the center. The position sensor is mounted to the stator, which is held using 5-6 smaller bolts. So considering the cost of parts and the labor required to change these parts, I felt $500+ was way overpriced. I understand that ABC has the right to charge whatever they feel is the right price and I have the option of agreeing to that price or not. In this case, I declined their offer, paid the technician the $70 diagnostic fee and got a more reasonable repair person who will charge me ~$100 labor and I will supply the parts ($150 for both parts). A 50%+ savings from the ABC quoted price. If ABC had been more reasonable in their price, they would have gotten my business. I am unlikely to use them in the future due to their over-priced repair estimates. read more

I am surprised to read so many positive reviews, I had a broken dishwasher, similar to other comments I see here the guy came listened to my dishwasher for 1 minute and said a part was broken. Part cost was $180 and repair cost for 1 hour job was additional $365. As I did not want o pay the checkup fee and wanted my dishwasher back I agreed. Didn't hear from them for 2 weeks, finally called and they said sorry part is no longer available. They also lied about calling me as they could have left message which they didn't. I cannot recommend this company, bad service and way overcharging for labor. read more

My dryer stopped working so I used Yelp to lookup for shops that can repair this sort of stuff. Actually, another shop popped up and I reached out to them via the built in Yelp message/chat for a quote and there was an option to send the message to other shops as well, so I thought why not. ABC was the FIRST to reply back so I chatted with Ray and then set an appointment that same day. Within a couple hours at the scheduled time, he stopped by, diagnosed the problem and had it fixed at a very reasonable price. He was very honest and broke down everything for me so that I could understand the issue. I gave him a tip and cold bottle water to go :) THANKS Ray!!! This is the best appliance repair company! Our refrigerator broke down this morning and I messaged via Yelp a few companies. Within few minutes Alex responded and said he could send someone in an hour. (Other companies said they could be here in the afternoon or the next day, but I needed help urgently). Alex sent Tim who arrived at the exact time promised. Tim fixed the fridge very quickly by changing the defective part that he promptly got from a nearest store. He charged significantly less than what others quoted. Tim also examined our broiler, heater, and dryer for no charge, and gave me tips on those. I am very pleased with their work, and will be inviting them again if any appliance work is needed in the future. read more

Our fridge started making a loud noise and warming up. We contacted a few companies on Yelp. Alex got back to us promptly, sent Vagan round to diagnose and gave us a good quote to replace the compressor. It's an expensive fix and too difficult for me to consider but we like the fridge so we decided to take the chance on spending about half what a new one would cost to keep it. Rubbish. After an hour and a half during which time Mike left a flood on my washing room floor, had worked on one screw for over 15 minutes, continually was on the phone with another technician, and had no definitive diagnosis for the issue I wrapped up the session. He's now been in his phone for over 10 minutes "getting a quote for parts and labor to fix" after I have asked him twice to leave. His work truck is a Camry. He had no full sized drill or impact wrench and showed up with a small tool bag and no other parts or tools. Please don't waste your time or money. This outfit is not professional. Just received a call from ABC regarding this review. Finally got him to admit Mike was new. Offered to send another repair person to assess issue between 2-4. I'm not going to give up another 2 hours of pay for this!!! I told him this review stands and they had their chance and blew it. See other 19 poor reviews in Yelp for them. I wish I had. read more

Alex from ABC was the first to respond to my online request and scheduled same day service for an issue with a stove at my rental unit. He said it was $60 to come out, but that amount would go towards the repair. He met with my tenant and said the stove needed a new range switch. My tenant told me ABC didn't have the part handy and would send me a quote and likely repair the next day. ABC sent my tenant an invoice the next day for $60, which was forwarded to me. I was pleased the repair was within the fee to come out and that it was repaired so quickly. So I thought. Two days later my tenant asked if I ever heard back from ABC about the repair. I contacted Alex via text who then sent me a repair quote for $339 ($154 part/$185 labor). I went to the Frigidaire website to review the range switch for my stove. The part number didn't match the part number ABC quoted and was also $140 less. I checked back with Alex to see if he quoted the wrong part number. He said no and sent a picture of the part, which was larger than the part on Frigidaire's website. I decided to trust Frigidaire and ordered the part online for $14. It came the next day. The repair took me 10 minutes (removal of 4 screws to remove the back panel, two screws for the dial, and replace the part). The part I ordered was an EXACT match right down to the printed part number on it. I'm disappointed ABC would inflate their repair quote to make money off of customers that might not do their own research. read more

DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY! We have a Tappan Range where all igniters including the oven shut off at the same time for no reason, we called ABC service and a technician came to our household. After "diagnosing" the problem without checking the back of the range the technician came to the conclusion that it was best that we replaced the range since parts aren't available for the range anymore. They charged us $75 for "Diagnosis" and yet the technician did not throughly check the range, we called the company manager to complain about the lack of knowledge of the technician and even the manager said that the technician should not have to check the back of the range where all the electrical wires are, but isn't that their job to throughly diagnose an appliance? The manager also said they were going to throw away the check and just recently I found out that they cashed the check. DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY! read more

I have to say this was one of the most pleasant service calls we have ever experienced. Alex replied to my request for a service call for our washing machine within 10 minutes and told me when he could come out. It was already 7pm on Thursday and he said he could be at our house anytime after 12pm on Friday. I scheduled for 5pm and he texted me around 430pm saying he was on his way. He showed up at 5pm and told me it would take about 30 minutes to determine the problem. About 30 minutes later he told me the issue and it could be close to $400 to fix. He told me I could save money if I did it myself and explained what I would have to do but that I might just consider getting a new Washer. He cleaned the bottom of the washer and performed a temporary fix with some silicone which he advised would not last long. All this for no extra charge than the agreed on $35 service fee! He is very friendly and polite as well. Highly recommend Alex to anyone looking for a fair and honest appliance repair man! read more

Our home's HVAC went out and while I appreciated that they came out on Thanksgiving Day, their business practices can be likened to mob tactics. First they told me there was no way to get the part before Monday. I spent about 15 minutes online and not only found it but was able to get it delivered on Saturday noon. Vagan came out and installed it while we were with family elsewhere and our house visitor facilitated it. I got a call with Vagan demanding payment which was puzzling because we lease this home and it was the rental agency that called ABC. I told him he should speak with the rental agency BUT if there was a problem, I would pay it and get reimbursed. He had his boss Alex call me and I told him the same thing--I'd give him my credit card over the phone. The next thing I know, our friend tells me Vagan had the system working but had gone out and deprogrammed it because they didn't get payment and that I could pay it . online. I immediately gave him my email address to send the invoice to pay online but he left anyway we were left without heat. Finally after multiple calls with Alex and the property manager it was settled but we were left to scramble to heat a 3,000 house when outside it was 45 degrees. I called Alex again and asked him why he didn't either send me the invoice or let me give him my credit card over the phone and he couldn't or wouldn't answer. Both of these men are Eastern European so english is not their first language but I checked EVERY STEP of the wayward to make sure they understood. They decided that extortion--leaving us without heat was the way to deal with this. And add insult to injury, the cost of the 20-30 minute installation was $482!! DO NOT use ABC Services. read more
