First of all, this is not a direct review of the quality of work done but of the quality of their employees as I did not actually hire them but observed how their employee treated a security guard. Recently, on 2/2/26 to be precise, I observed a security guard at the Rancho San Diego Town Center approach their truck, which had "Above All Movers 858-483-8234" on the side of the truck, and ask the driver to move the vehicle off property. Then, out of nowhere, the driver jumped out of the truck and approached the guard in a threatening manner cussing her out. Afterwards when I spoke with the guard, she confirmed she had to call the sheriff's office for her own safety. I could hear the man shouting, threatening to sue her and the company and all sorts of nonsense. This is not a good look for this company and if I were them I would fire this employee immediately for this behavior. All in all I urge everyone to avoid them at all costs if this is how they conduct themselves. read more

This company came to me recommended by a friend who uses movers in her business daily- so I figured they would be the one to use. I had already done some "comparison shopping"- and found that they were less than some competitors. I spoke to Hakim- who I understand owns the business. He mentioned a 4 hour minimum, and I asked him if I needed them for more time, would that be possible. I explained that I had a lot of antique armoires that required disassembling and reassembling.. His reply was that "I had them for all day- I'd be there only job." He told me the hourly rate, we agreed, and on moving day they showed up. 40 minutes later than promised- but no big deal. The moment he walked in the door he looks around and says- "This is going to be $xxx and names a price FAR higher than we had ever talked about.. You have a lot of stuff here- way more than you told me." We had not EVER discussed how much stuff I had, just that we would be working on an hourly basis. His whole attitude was- for lack of a better word- very Ghetto. Now it's the day I must move- what do I do? We go on with the move. His workers were all hard working and nice. Hakim 1/2 fills the truck then says "You have too much stuff, we need to make 2 trips." I asked why they didn't just fill up the first truck, then come back for the second load. He wouldn't really give me an answer. When the items were out of the house, I had storage sheds on my property, some patio furniture and plants. He refused to move any of that- telling me he had 2 other jobs to get to. The move (at least the part he participated in) was finished in 4 hours and 10 minutes..... I ended up having to get a friend to help me before work the whole next week to move things over to my new house- a REAL hassle and adding a lot of stress to a move. I would NEVER use this company- nor recommend them. read more

Update to my last review. So we used them again to move, this time just to load up our three 24' Budget trucks because we were moving to the Sacramento area and thought we would drive the trucks ourselves and find a company up there to unload us. So again the crew was AMAZING! They loaded our trucks in no time! Our house was 4,000 sq ft and last time they moved us it took them about 8 hours start to finish from one house in San Diego to another house in Chula Vista including 3 trips in his truck. So this time for just loading I expected it to take 4 hours. This expectation is not at all the norm for movers, but for this crew they somehow are miracle workers and can do it! And they did it! So we give them a nice tip, happy they were so fast, and drive to the new house. We meet the other moving company and expect them to take no more than 4 hours to unload considering unloading is suppose to be faster, and if Jacqueem's crew loaded in 4 hours this crew shouldn't take more than that to unload. reasonable to assume wouldn't you think? Well.... to our dismay, this other company called Folsom Ready Movers took 9 hours to unload our trucks! Yes 9 hours to just unload! So recap, Jacqueem and his crew load up out 3 trucks in 4 hours then this other horrible company in Folsom takes 9 hours to unload the trucks! Mind you this other company charged MORE than Above all movers, and I had to pay per hour! I would have been better off paying Jacqueem to drive the trucks up and unload them for me! Save yourself a ton of time and hire Above All Movers to move you. You will save a lot of money and headache! They are the best! I can't say enough great things about them! They know what they are doing, and don't take breaks, they get it done! read more

This review is long overdue. I'm a Marine who was stationed out in SD a few years back. As a single guy, on deployments, I had to move all my stuff in and out of storage. Out of all the moves I've had in the military, these guys are BY FAR the best movers I've had. Hakim was quick to help and his prices are the most reasonable I've ever seen. I used him for 4 moves. After that first time, he had me sold. They were lightening fast. No smoke breaks, no sitting around. They took good care of my stuff. No damage to anything. And he had at least 4 guys on every move. The main reason I'm remembering to write this... Now in DC and evaluating movers, no one comes close to the price and the quality these guys have. A+++++ Movers We were moving from Tucson to San Diego December 2011, just a few days before Christmas. We found "Above All Movers" on Yelp and so glad we did. They didn't have allot of reviews posted for them, but they all seemed to be positive, except one. We are not quite sure what happened there, but we decided to discount the one bad review. We made all arrangements over the phone from our Tucson home. Akim told us it would take them 2 hours and it would be $200. We thought that $100/hour was a little pricey, and could hardly believe that they could completely empty our huge U-Haul into an upstairs 2 bedroom apartment in just 2 hours. Keep in mind that the movers on the Tucson end took 10 hours to load the truck and damaged a number of items by improper packing and loading. "Above All Movers" were a little late, but they kept in contact with us via cell phones. We had arranged for them to meet us at 10am as we rolled into town with a 26 foot u-haul truck arriving at our new place. They showed up at 11:30am. When they arrived, there were 6 guys and they went to work. We have never seen anyone work so fast and efficiently as these guys did. It was quite amazing. Within 2 hours, they had totally emptied the U-Haul into the apartment (in the rooms and approximate locations we desired) and garage. And, on top of that, nothing was damaged by these guys in the process. We had hoped we could hire them to help put some furniture together, but they were not interested. They "only" move stuff ... no detail work. We cannot say enough about "Above All Movers". They were excellent and Akim stuck with the price and the time estimated from the phone call from Arizona. If you can have your stuff "ready to go", we would highly recommend this company. If you need help taking stuff apart or putting it together, don't bother. They are not interested. I'm giving "Above All Movers" 5 stars because: They did the job they agreed to in the amount of time, at the price they agreed to, and they didn't damage anything. read more

My wife and I have used them several times - after being referred to them by my sister. They are exquisitely polite, and shockingly efficient. Moves that deem to be just depressing in their scope are taken care of by them in what seems to be a flash. Since first working with them, we referred them several times ourselves - and recently, when we had to assist my parents-in-law on what was really a challenging moving task, we turned to them yet again. Satisfied customer. Above All Movers was suggested to me by a friend who uses them for every relocation/move to a new residence. Hakim and his crew were very friendly and polite the entire time. They are professional movers and they expect you to be ready for the move, so that they can do their job as fast as possible. If it isn't in a box, don't expect them to move it. Be ready. It's unbelievable how fast they move. Our move was a little tricky in the sense that we had multiple storage units at different locations that needed to be emptied. Some items were unloaded at the old residence and the others went to the new residence. We added an additional stop to pick up more furniture from my parents on the way to the new residence. Hakim was very accommodating to our needs and made everything happen with ease. We moved from La Jolla to Encinitas with all of the stops in less then 4 hours. Simply amazing! I have had to move more times than I care to count or remember. I have used several different movers in the past, but never felt compelled to write a review until now. Hakim and his crew were absolutely amazing! Prior to this last move, the two moves before that were at least $300 more than what I ended up paying with Above All Movers. They also did the entire move in about half the time. I am a parent, have an in home office, as well as in home Gyrotonic studio (a workout similar to Pilates), so I have LOTS of stuff!! Hakim and his team were punctual, polite, professional, FAST and careful with my possessions as well at the walls of the home etc. I highly recommend using them! read more

I had to put some stuff into storage and got what was probably too small for what I had but with their years of experience, I presume, were able to fit it all in. I was very impressed. They were not only very capable but very friendly and professional. Always asked questions if they were unsure of anything which I really appreciated. They made me feel involved instead of going in and just doing their thing, leaving me worried if it's going to be done the way I needed. I went with Above All Movers after seeing their spiffy new truck in our neighborhood and then reading positive reviews on Yelp. We technically have a small 1200 sq ft place, but have enough stuff to fill up a big moving truck. Past moves have cost $2500 - reaching other mover's "not to exceed" quotes - with the moving guys losing all confidence midday. When speaking to the owner Akim for a quote & to let him know our past troubles, he remained confident & unwavering. All he said was to be fully boxed up and he was sure he'd get us moved in a few hours. Above All Movers provided us with an awesome move! They arrived 10 minutes early with a 7 guy crew who made our move a breeze! The guys were professional, courteous, and even joked a bit which made for a fun experience. We were completely moved in less than 3 hours. Truly unreal! Their rate was incredibly fair and we tipped well. They even dis- & re-assembled our huge king bed - no problem. The only thing they don't do is provide wardrobe boxes or move more delicate items (we drove over lampshade, bulbs, and a few un-boxed items). I'd highly recommend Above All Movers! read more

I've moved 10 times since the year 2000, so I've hired a lot of moving companies over the years. I can honestly say that Above All Movers is THE BEST! I have hoarder tendencies, so I had a ton of stuff in my 2 bedroom place that needed to be moved to storage. The moving company I'd hired for my previous move showed up with two weaklings who struggled to get me moved in 4-5 hours (and I was moving within the same condo complex!). Above All Movers showed up with 4 strong and friendly guys who got all of my junk loaded up onto the truck in 45 minutes! They only took another 45 minutes to unload everything into the storage unit, which is currently packed to capacity (another impressive feat, because I thought that there was no way everything would fit). This wasn't my first time hiring Above All Movers, so don't ask me why I hired that other company the last time. They probably had a lower amount of minimum hours, but the amount of time they took ended up costing me more than Above All Movers. I learned!!! I'd rather pay the higher upfront cost and have the rest of my day available than to grit my teeth in frustration while I watch slow movers drive up the price what I thought was going to be a cheap move. Like others have said, you need to be ready. As soon as Hakim and his team walk in they are ready to start hauling arse. My appointment was at 7am and they showed up at 6:50am. I was actually asleep still, because I'd accidentally set my alarm to 6:30pm instead of am. Whoops! Luckily the phone call from Hakim woke me up and everything else went smoothly! read more

MY WORST MOVING NIGHTMARE. These guys came recommended to me and I read a lot of favorable reviews on Yelp. Scheduling a major move was a little sketchy via text and no formal email or payment deposit,but I can overlook that. DO THEY EVEN HAVE PAPERWORK or insurance? I confirmed twice after the initial schedule and all was good. Until move day. Like me, most people have a moving date scheduled for a reason. Like they are moving out at the end of the month, etc. Move dates are significant. So, I'm set up to move on the last day of February so the new owners can move in on the first. Easy enough...EXCEPT WHEN THE MOVERS DON'T SHOW UP. THEY DIDNT SHOW UP! And worst of all, they kept telling me all day that they would show up! Apparently, the guy who had the keys to the truck had his car repo'd and both sets of truck keys were in it? Uh ok. All day they called and told me they were working on it. But they never showed up. They just never showed up. How about renting a Uhaul or two and showing up? They just didn't answer the phone. IS THIS A BUSINESS? How can a moving company just not show up? And they kept telling me all day that they would get to me. "They'll be there at 9, then by 11, then by noon, then by 3, then 4, then 5" then radio silence. "I give you my word we'll be there" was the mantra of the day. Well, they didn't keep their word. And I got screwed in the process because Inhad to call another mover for the next day which wreaked havoc on me, and the new owners. SHAME ON HAKIM AND ABOVE ALL...DONT USE THEM. read more

First off, they showed up 3 1/2 hours late and I didn't call them they never would have let me know. When they finally get to my house, not one aplology for being late, not ONE! I The whole time they were moving their atttitudes were horrible. I mentioned to them before they showed up that we had a 2500sqft house with a lot of stuff and wanted to make sure he had a big enough truck. He assured me they did, but then guess what, it wasn't big enough! 3 1/2 hours late, truck was to small, horrible un-professional attitudes and then to top it off they left like 4 car loads of stuff at our old house, so when everything was unpacked after a LONG day I had to go back 4 more times to get everything they should have gotten in their two trips. DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS! I was referred to them by a friend who have since also stopped using them. As if moving homes is not stressful enough, this guy (Hakim) managed to make it worse. We booked them for a move on Sunday Sept. 16th at 11 am. Hakim called at 8:49 am saying that they had finished the last move early and could they come right over. We weren't completely ready for him but to accomodate him I agreed. He showed up with his crew a little after 9, walked in to our apartment, looked around and said: "you're not ready for us, this is not how we work, you're making your problem my problem, we're not doing this job" he then turned his back on me as I was saying: but, we need to be out of here today, to which he said: "not my problem". It's not bad enough that he walked away from the job but insulted my wife and I in the process. This guy is the bottom of the barrel. I was lucky enough to find another company to move us that day at the last minute because they felt bad for us and made some changes to accomodate us - they also told us that they've heard of him doing that to many other clients. Definitely call around and ask for references, I wouldn't use this guy if he was the last mover in the world. read more

I have had Above All Movers move me before, and had an ok experience (one of my couches was ripped on the arm piece). When I knew I'd be moving again I figured I'd go back to them since the damage wasn't too extensive and they moved me for a decent price-though now I wish I wouldn't have waisted my time. I spoke to and scheduled a move date with Hakim, the same individual I spoke with last time. Everything went well and we had a date and time planned. Then, I was told by a friend that I could be moved for a cheaper price than what Hakim quoted me. Before cancelling the appointment and going with another moving company, I though I'd ask Hakim if he could match the other quote I was given. Initially, he agreed and said it wouldn't be a problem. Then he had the nerve to text me back and say that I had offended him and because of that, he increased the quote by $100. Get the fu*k out. read more

Over all the move was fast but they did scratch up our furniture quite a bit. I wasn't too upset about that but I was upset when I realized I was missing a box..... labeled IMPORTANT PAPERS. When we called to tell them he said he checked and there was no boxes in his truck. All I wanted was for him to check and call the other people he moved that same day to see if they have our box..... he didnt seem worried or anything of course. BEST MOVE EVER!!! I have moved at least 40 times over the course of my lifetime so needless to say I have experience here. I have never experienced a move quite like this. I moved from a fully furnished two bedroom into another two bedroom across town. They arrived at 8:15am and had us moved out of the old place in completely unloaded into the new place by 10:00am. I'd never seen anything like it! They placed everything where I asked and by 10:30 I was unloading and getting my new home settled instead of spending the whole day moving. Not only were the fast and efficient but full of personality and made the day!!! My daughter still talks about them a week later. Although we did have one little mishap with a glass table top, Hakim took full responsibility and is making it right by paying for the replacement cost. He takes pride in his work and reputation and expects the same from his team. I would use Hakim and his team again in a heartbeat and would not hesitate to recommend him!!! Called them on the Wednesday before my Sunday move and they were able to book me at 8 am. They quoted me $100/hr with a 4 hr minimum. CASH ONLY. My friend has used them twice and warned me to be absolutely packed and ready at 8 am because once they get there, they move quickly. They arrived 30 min early and apologized but with my friends' warning, I was basically ready. There were 3 movers and a large truck. They were polite (asked to use the restroom, even just to blow a nose!) and very fast. They moved me into a new home that I had newly painted and with new floors and they were very careful not to hit the walls or new floor. Not a single thing was broken. They had me moved in 2.5 hrs. I wish they had better pricing but overall I was happy with the move and would use them again. read more

I can't say enough about this company and its crew. At first I was hesitant to book them because the trucks weren't fancy and the business card wasn't elaborate. But the realtor said she only uses this company so I trusted her experiences. After calling and texting back and forth with the owner, we set a date/time. They showed up early with a crew of 5 and absolutely busted their tails to empty the house in record time. We met at the new house and they offloaded everything just as fast. Not a single piece of furniture was damaged!! They disassembled and assembled every piece with no instructions needed. No boxes dropped, nothing missing, everything placed exactly where we wanted it. I was quoted 4 hours to move a 5 bedroom, two story house and thought "no way possible" but they did it. The guys were all incredibly courteous and asked questions, pointed out concerns about furniture that was already damaged before they moved it, and communicated effectively with us the entire time. We've moved multiple times and have always dealt with people who don't speak English or are from a foreign country and the price changes constantly throughout the move. NOT these guys - the price was the price and it was the least expensive move we've ever experienced. AND the most efficient. AND the most professional. We were happy to give a generous tip as well as treat them to breakfast/drinks because they certainly deserved it. Some tips --- BE READY. They move quickly so have every box packed and ready to go with a label of where it goes in the new place, even if you use a number system. We had a lot of stuff not packed and were scrambling because we thought we had more time. KNOW what stays and what goes - we labeled everything that stayed with the old place with a bright sticky note so nothing was taken that shouldn't be. Have more than one person directing the guys - they are very efficient but also have questions during the process and it all goes faster if they have a couple people to go to. Provide plenty of cold beverages since they are doing hardcore work for hours on end. You won't be disappointed with this company. They were nice, professional, and trustworthy. We had an excellent experience. My finace and I had a large two story house with multiple boxes and furniture items. Hakim was easy to schedule with and anticipated correctly the number of guys to send. All of them were extremely professional, polite and accommodating; especially when we packed a bunch of our clothing in garbage bags, which in the moving world is a big no no (we will never do that again, sorry :( ). We were planning to move ourselves from Carmel valley to vista but then my fiancé threw his back out the day before our move...
