I dropped off an older, high mileage van to have the sliding doors looked at and possibly fixed. After 3 days of leaving the vehicle, I spoke with Vaughn over the phone and he took the time to explain what the problem was. I don't believe it was a simple diagnosis and I'm assuming he put some work and time dismantling parts of both doors to determine the root cause. He realized at the end that only the dealership can program the door sensor module and he was up front and honest with me that this was beyond his control. I picked up the vehicle with no work done, but he didn't charge me anything. I know his business is slammed with customers but the fact that he took the time and effort to diagnose a problem in an old van and not charge a penny shows he cares about customers and his business. I reached out because my car has been making a horrendous squealing noise upon starting, and we've all suspected it was the serpentine belt, but I got that replacement recently, so I was just stumped. I brought it in for inspection and found out the last mechanic I went to didn't use the right part, so that was probably the culprit. They gave me an estimate (which was a very fair price), but the part that impressed me most is that they told me I should try to talk to the original mechanic first to see if he'll fix his mistake so that I don't have to shell out extra money. I thought that was such an honest move that I really trust this shop now and would definitely come back for other services. thanks to yelp i was able to message a few different businesses to find someone to fix my hanging splash guard underneath my engine. the message sent to a few places around my area, but Above Auto Care was the only courteous response I received - the owner, Vuong, was very prompt, professional, and helpful in offering a consultation the next day! I gave this place one star for their lack of customer service, knowledge and phone etiquette. I was referred to this establishment by a colleague. I was in need of a diagnostic for my Infiniti FX35. Called this place and a guy answered the phone. I explained to him I needed a diagnostic for my car and he says "have you been here before". I explain again that I have not been there before and I need a diagnostic. The guy says with an attitude"so this is your first time". I respond "yes, this is my first time". He asks what type of car I have and I promise I said the make and model about 10 times. I finally yelled " Infiniti FX35. F AS IN FRANK". He says "oh I've never heard of that model". Any shop that has not heard of a popular make/model shouldn't be in the car fixing business. On that note I went elsewhere. If you're not familiar with Infiniti's you definitely won't be working on my car. Please familiarize yourself with staff on different makes me models. read more
