From our experience, stay far away! We did not hire them. They were hired by another company as a subcontractor to come look at lighting problem that arose from some work the other contractor did in our attic. At the request of the other contractor, they came to our house. Jeff J spent less than 10-minutes at our house. When he was at our house for those few minutes, he never even went into the attic (where original work was done). He did not speak with us other than to introduce himself as the subcontractor, and we were expecting him, so we let him in to do his inspection. He did not fix the problem that we were having, and spent less than 10-minutes in our house doing whatever inspection or work the contractor sent him to do. But then, a few days later, we received an invoice for $250.95 ($200 labor + $11.95 fuel surcharge + $39.00 material) . My wife and I thought this must be a mistake. We emailed Absolute Electrical via their website - no response. We called them, certain they would tell us it was a mistake. They said it's "no mistake." They had the audacity to claim that while they were at our house, during those 10-minutes, they asked for our permission to do the work on our dime, and we gave them the permission. Rubbish! They are crooks. We only allowed them into our house as a subcontractor -- doing an inspection at the request of the other company. We had not hired them. They never even remotely indicated they were doing work at our direction or on our dime, they were called-in by the other contractor. When we telephoned them to discuss, thinking it had to be a mistake, they fabricated the story that they had asked and received permission by us to do work for us and invoice us for it -- all in the 10-minutes he was at our house. Of course this never happened. If we needed an electrician, we would hire one. We did not hire these people, but by virtue of letting them into our home for 10-minutes, they fabricated things in order to invoice us for their time. Perhaps some of you out there have had different experiences with these people. But in our experience, they are Absolute crooks. Update: After calling Absolute Electrical on 12/7/2015 about above - we received from Jeff J, President of Absolute Electrical, on 12/8/2015 a LIEN on our home. A lein on our home for $250, a few weeks after they were at our house for 10-minutes, at the request of the contractor. We only let them in the door per the other contractor. But they fabricated a story so they could invoice us (we never hired him), and then less than a month later we have a lien on our home. This is no way to do business. From our experience, stay away from these people unless you want a huge headache and unwarranted legal problems. (And we still have the same electrical problem, unfixed, that started all this to begin with.) Update: 12/15/2015 Our contractor told us Absolute Electrical was never supposed to invoice us, much less put a lien on our home. Our contractor took care of their bill. We'll update this when/if Absolute Electrical takes the lien off our house. Perhaps others have had a different experience and if so, that's great. But from our experience, we could never recommend Absolute Electrical. Our electrical problem is not fixed. But most importantly, when you're allowing someone into your home, there needs to be a little trust that they're honest, reasonable people. That was not our experience. read more

They have done work at both my home and at our business. They are always professional and do a great job. At my house we did a complete kitchen remodel. They re-wired everything installing new outlets all over and canned lighting in the ceiling. They were easy to work with and helpful when they thought the plans showed a light fixture in the wrong place. They even made suggestions on where all the switches should go and it's worked out great. At our business they have replaced light fixtures in our warehouse and they had to bring in a lift to get up to where they are about 20 feet in the air. They installed 220 for the forklift charger, fixed the electrical on an electrical doc plate that was shorting out and installed lighting outside our building. The guys are pleasant and easy to work with and I highly recommend their service to anyone and everyone that asks for an electrician. read more

We were never told about the 2 hr minimum. No one told us anything about how much it would cost or the 2 hr minimum. In fact, when you call, you just get their answering service, which is manned by people who know nothing about their company or electricity. Jeff's claim below simply is not true. They were also at our house about 1 hr 10 mins tops. When I called the office to complain about the 2 hr minimum and the incredibly annoying fuel surcharge, the woman on the other line was belligerent and unfriendly. I am skeptical of the other reviews I see posted. Next time we're going to need way more Yelpers to condone a business before we call someone cold. When we first called the company, there was only a single Yelp review (posted in June 2009). I also note that as of this update on 9/9/09, the 2 new Yelpers (posted soon after my original review on 8/21/09) have posted only a single Yelp review -- the one reviewing this company. UPDATE (9/19/2009) There were 2 additional 5-star reviews posted within 1 week after my original review on 8/21/09. I found those reviews highly suspect. Those reviews have since been removed. As for the job quality, your technician just had to ground a single outlet (located right above our sink) in our new bathroom. He completed the task by running a wire to the pipe under the sink. You received an absolutely fair review since the job includes the service and the price. I have no idea what your company would be like for anything other than the simplest of jobs. I do know that for our simple task, we were charged $180 for labor, $9 for material and $9.45 fuel surcharge for $198.45. Also, had we known about the 2 hr minimum, we certainly had other tasks that we could have had him do. Instead, he left and more than 2 weeks later, I received your bill in the mail. These guys give you a really low quote before starting the job and when the job is done they'll charge you more than double. At no point did they communicate with me during the job that their original estimate for the job had changed. I told them exactly what the job required and that was exactly what they completed, nothing more. So why charge the customer more than double? I called Absolute Electrical for an estimate, and Jeff came out and explained to me exactly what he was going to do. It was actually so simple I told him I could do that myself, and he was totally fine with that and didn't charge me a cent. I was shocked that a contractor would be that honest....so the next time I needed some electrical work that I didn't think I could handle, I called Absolute again. They did tell me about the 2-hour minimum, so i just made sure to have jobs that filled the time, such as installing a new outdoor outlet and fixing a wiring issue with our oven. He did great work in a timely fashion, so he'll still be my go-to electrician. read more

When the guys came out to do the actual circuit installation They were planning to do something other than the quoted plan. We called Jeff. He came out personally to oversee the project. I wish I could give Absolute Electrical 10 STARS!!! Jeff came out on time and I explained to him my issue. Which was our old stove was hardwired and I had a person come out to change that to a 220 volt, because that's what was told to me and so I did. Well, the new stove still didn't work and I was told I needed to hire a professional. So the first company who came out told my husband that the people before use( owners of the condo who did the remodel ) had someone wire everything wrong and that our circuit panel was so old that it needed to be changed out, in order to get the stove working. So the price for that was $4200.00 :/ ( Aleco Electric) So I called Home Depot (where I bought the stove and they recommended using there connection ProReferral) This is how I found Absolute Electrical. I sent an email and they replied back right away with a next day appointment. I was thrilled. Long story short, it was a simple wire issue that wasn't connected right. That's it!! It took him five minute to switch the wires and the stove started working!! Seriously 5 minutes and he didn't even charge me. I was in tears and I'm still in tears as I write this review. Absolute Electric is the best. Someone else had blown my main breaker and I was totally without power that was in addition to the original problem of my air conditioning not working. It was almost 90 out. Heat index was ridiculous. I called Jason on Saturday afternoon. He had me snap a couple of picture of my panel. A few minutes later I knew what he was going to do, what it would cost and when he would be here. This was on a Saturday afternoon. He got here, worked until he had my power back on.I had lights, outlets, and my refrigerator and microwave worked. .By then it was 11:30. He came back the next morning. And a couple of hours later everything was done. I had a completely new panel, the wiring is gorgeous, not the rats nest it had been he'd replaced a broken outlet, fixed my air. He is spectacular. He took care of everything. Made sure everything worked. When it's 90 degrees and you have no lights, no air, no ability to cool off and someone works that hard to get you up and running. That's service. I will never use anyone else. And I will recommend Absolute Electrical to everyone. read more

I had a problem with my furnace, just as it was starting to get cold. In order to save money, I tried everything I could to fix it myself (reset it, changed the filter, changed a fuse). When nothing worked, I called the company that I purchased the furnace from about 3 years ago. The owner (Grant Mechanical) said he'd charge me $240 just to come to my house. So I looked for some more reasonable referrals through a Home Depot referral service. I found a company, Atlas Trillo, who came out and said the problem was electrical. They said they could fix it for $446, which did not include the $89 they charged to come to my home. Given the high cost, I decided to get an estimate from an actual electrician. Fortunately, I contacted Absolute Electrical. They came to my house, fixed my electrical problem and charged me $248 total. They're my new go-to furnace folks. Good work, honest people. 5 stars. We have an older home in Hillsborough that needed an electrician. The first problem involved tracing a circuit that powered an external outlet. The other issue related to correcting a 3-way switch configuration. I selected Absolute Electrical because Jeff had helped me with wiring a sub-panel several years earlier. I am somewhat fussy about electrical work because I have an engineering background and I am familiar with the idiosyncrasies of our home where multiple remodeling projects have been completed over the years. The home is now also occupied by a tenant. Absolute Electrical sent Matt out to our home. Matt completed both projects and did an excellent job.They were not easy projects. My job was done in July last year. They went Amazon services and gave me really low quote before starting the job... At the end they charge me five times more. They put not correct size bulbs (very small ones). Job was eight recessed lights. Bulbs were very bright. I did not make any comments then...Trying to finish with them... Today I got correct size and brightness bulbs and replace them. Four out of eight bulbs end up in an angle...Assembly was done wrong. If you are a female and an advanced age don't go to them. Project: Install recessed lighting in residential property, 3 bedrooms, entry way and hallway. Workers were great, clean, on-time and quick. However, the cans (Home Depot) were about $11 each and 2 bulbs already burnt out (They did replace them). If I had known, I would have asked for better cans. Called Absolute based on recommendation from a co-worker and was able to get them out the same day. Even better was that they showed up at the exact time they promised.
