Watched out for the guy: my brother called absolute pro plumbing and they connected us to Tony (co-Owner) for this plumbing problem at my elderly parent house as there was backup in our lateral sewer line. Originally asked for camera work as i was concerned there was a collapsed pipe, Tony suggested not to camera the line but instead asked us to pay $400 and he said he would clear the blockage. I had originally said i snaked the line, he ensured that his snake was much better. He arrived late at night 720 pm he tried to snake it with his snake and within 40 min in he stated he could not clear it. According to him we owed him $400 for the snaking although unsuccessful. He then said he wanted to camera the line, which was the original service i asked for because i thought i may have a collapsed pipe. He charged us an additional $250 to camera the line, He neither provided a video nor did he mark on the pavement where the blockage was nor did he show on video if it was collapsed. He should my brother his screen and some discoloratoon. We paid the $650 he was there from 720 to 9 pm ish. He concluded that i had a collapsed sewer lateral and that it would cost $8k to 10k to repair this issue since it was under driveway. The next day i found Different plumber who came in and said he needed to check the pipe out first and wanted to verify collapsed pipe, he removed my toilet since it was the downstream end of pipe, he needed better and safe access so he needed to go thru the vent pipe, he snaked the entire line and cleared the blockage. This other plumber was a 2 man crew and spent 2 hours at my house on a saturday, cleared the line repaired the cut vent pipe and reinstalled the toilet. Total cost $575 and they also replaced a fixture. He said there was no way was a collapsed pipe. We ran all the water for 15 min straight and flushed all the toilets after the cleared blockage In conclusion i paid $650 to Tony and he did not clear the line and misdiagnosed the issue of a collapsed line and said i needed really additional 8k to 10k to do the repair and clear the blockage. I paid another plumber on sat $575 he cleared the blockage and proved there was no collapsed line. There may have been some tree roots but nothing needing to dig up the driveway right away. I then called tony to ask for refund, he stated aggressively that his time was $350/hr, which i thought is insane (who makes $350/hr) which he never mentioned in the beginning or to me and that he provides a service and there are no refunds. In other words although his service was a failure and his diagnoses is wrong you wont get a refund. He wanted me to spend 8k to 10k to dig up 10ft of my driveway. Tree roots does not equate to a collapsed pipe. I may have thought that intially but an expert to figure out and diagnose it correctly. Im glad i found someone else who knew what they were doing. Too bad i called and threw $650 away. Im glad i didnt throw another 8k away.

Brian sent out Ameer to my house to see about a leak I have under my sink. He stopped by and took a quick look and said the leak is coming from our backslash not being sealed correctly. After he left my son noticed that there was a leak from the garbage disposal. I called right back told him what the problem was and he said he can install a new one for $350.00. I paid and he came the next day to install it. The next day there was still a leak. I called Brian and he said Ameer would come by to check it out. Well, he no showed twice on me. I finally said enough and told him i will go else wear. I had someone else come out and it turned out that he had installed the new disposal to the old bracket and sink fixrure. This shows in the picture. I texted Brian right away to let him know and he said Ameer will be notifird right away. I texted back asking for someone new and nevrr got a response. Now im stuck with a leaking didposal and Short $350.

However, Martin from Affordable Hydro Jetting was able to clear the obstruction from the drain opening, saving us from invasive and costly operations. The details: I called Martin after a clog removal by another company went sideways (probably the topic of a no star review in the future). The first company identified where the problem was, but also caused a spill of sewage inside the house, then quoted me $5k to dig up the pipe and really fix the problem. To no one's surprise, I wasn't happy. So I called AHJ for a second opinion, and Martin answered the call. He spent a good 20 minutes on the phone, asking me detailed questions about the problem, and explaining my options (the other company did none of that). He made no guarantees, but said he thought he could solve the problem, so I asked him to have a look. He was at my house within 3 hours. The line had two objects stuck inside, causing backups. Martin worked to jet out one of the objects out, then used a camera to inspect the entire 80 ft. length of the pipe. The second object was still there, though, and it looked like digging was the only option. However, this is where the real magic happened! The second object was about 12 ft from the clean out, and it was not budging. Martin, however, thinks outside the box. He got out a large shop vac and stuffed the hose down the line. With the help of his camera he aligned the end of the hose with the obstruction and started up the vacuum. It took a while and was not easy work, but Martin eventually pulled out a 8" long, 2 lb. solid steel spring! That's no exaggeration (How that got in there I'll never know). It was Amazing! He also documented everything with his camera and thoroughly explained everything that we could see. So, I now know all about the good, and the bad, of my main sewer line, should any future problem arise. Thank you, Martin, for the exceptional service!

First of all, I take responsibility for hiring these guys. Every other plumber was talking about…read moreneeding 4-6 days to repipe our home and CR said they could do it in two. I was more focused on getting water service back not realizing that with a company with Rooter in the name , the focus is on speedy repairs and not quality. I got what I paid for. 90% of what they did was good. The other 10% I paid a real licensed plumber to come in and fix. There was poor communication or no communication from the owner ( who I assume is the licensee ) and his guys who are neither journeyman nor English speakers. I asked for them to run a new water service pipe through my foundation. During the walk through Chavo said no problem, he's got the drill. I'm replacing my stucco and that location makes it easier for the demo. I got home from work and his guy Nazario went through my foundation vent because that was faster making it difficult for me with the rest. of the scope of work. It looks terrible. Just poor workmanship.. It was then that I started to realize that they are focused on fast work , not quality work. There were 4-5 poorly done things and a few that were just stupid. . They did try to make it up by doing a few extras no charge like a hose connection and a vent repair. The main cause of me wanting to repipe was a failing manifold in the shower. What did they not do? Replace the shower manifold . I had to go buy one and have them install it after they put new pipe on the faulty manifold. This was after repeat conversations about this specifically . Just because someone says yes doesn't that mean they understand you. After install, it leaked worse than before and I had to remove a wall to access, and had a real plumber fix it, They broke a tile and the leak they left ruined my baseboard and I had to replace it. Again, this is my fault for hiring them after a recommendation from a friend. Without writing an epic tale, they did a few bone headed things that I had to call their boss and make them redo. They were in a hurry. Nazario , who may or may not still work there was disrespectful to my wife and chauvinistically did not listen to her . I had to come home from work early to make them stop and do what was clearly described in the estimate. He was combative and untruthful. He and the crew demonstrated a lack of ability to problem solve or think critically. There is another review illustrating this here. This company is probably very good at emergency repairs where no thinking is involved and they replace like for like copying what was there. For real plumbing, don't go with this company. I am currently a city building inspector . I could cite the code violations, but it was mostly poor workmanship , deviation from the contracted scope or incomplete work. . They were so bad I accused of them of a few things they were innocent of. As time passed I kept finding more things they screwed up. They told me they removed the old pipe. When I went into the crawl space ,3/4 of it was left behind. Nazario said there was no garbage , but I had to crawl underneath and haul it all out, I found another stash of old pipes in the crawl space today prompting this late review. If you need real plumbing, relocation or a layout change , this company is not for you. If you need an emergency replacement or repair done fast they are probably ok,

My warranty needed the following information to move forward with a claim: diagnosis, location of failure, location of failure, cause of failure, length of failed portion, length of line & cost of breakdown. According to Rosa from Challenge Rooter they were UNABLE to provide me with these details. (per owner rules EVEN after offering a deposit). Once we decided to go with another plumber we found out that a video inspection was not even possible as it had collapsed about 8 ft into our sewer. This is disappointing & I hope no one goes with this company to get scammed. UPDATE: 12/22/2025 Owner Eucebio commented on posted - stating of back story. Yes, I asked for a price match. I received an original quote then when I decided to go back to challenge rooter a few months later they said we needed a new quote. The new quote was higher than the old - hence the price matching. I find his professionalism inappropriate & disappointing. I'm upset because again, we were told that there was a camera inspection - which was impossible since it was collapsed 8 ft in. I also find it disappointing that my warranty wanted additional details & their team could not provide. I now double do not recommend this company.

When Carlos came to get an understanding of the job, he immediately stood out as having a deep understanding of what was needed to accomplish my goal. My job was small but a bit complex, pulling 2 conduits 80ft underground through a shared driveway, with a lot of slopes and tree roots involved. He thought about everything and came up with a plan and provided a clear price estimate on the spot. After getting 3 other quotes, TrenchFree had the most compelling one, both in price and plan to get my job done. They were flexible in scheduling and worked with me to fit their job into my overall backyard project timing-wise. Armando came out the day of work and again he was very professional, detailed, and made sure everything looked correct before the actual drilling began. He took the time that morning to double check 811 markings and even my private lines to ensure no utilities would be in the way. The job took a bit longer than anticipated due to the ground being filled with roots, but they kept going at it and finished the job in 2 days. I can tell it was a very physically demanding job and all the workers I encountered, Miguel, Pablo, etc were very courteous and made sure to clean up and leave everything in good condition before leaving. Overall, I am very impressed at the outstanding job they did and would definitely reach out to them again for any underground drilling work. Thanks again.
