1 STAR -- PLEASE BE AWARE Very disappointed with Access Dental. I originally took my daughter there for a cleaning and X-rays. They did the X-rays but did not clean her teeth. Instead, they said she needed a deep cleaning and told me I would have to pay out of pocket. The price was first quoted at $130 and then changed to $70. My daughter has CHIP insurance, and the office even called her health plan while we were there. However, they did not properly explain everything to me or apparently communicate everything correctly with the insurance. After I left, I called her health plan myself, and I was told that Access Dental was supposed to go ahead and submit the prior authorization so the insurance could determine whether the deep cleaning would be covered. What confused me is that Access Dental never submitted it. Instead, I was being told that I needed to pay out of pocket. Please be very careful if your child has CHIP insurance. Make sure you contact your insurance yourself and confirm what the dental office is supposed to submit before paying anything out of pocket. The whole experience was very unprofessional and unorganized. The staff had attitudes, and the office did not make me feel comfortable or confident that my daughter was receiving the proper care. I originally brought my daughter there for a cleaning and X-rays, and she left without getting the cleaning. I do NOT recommend Access Dental based on my experience. Please explore your options, ask questions, contact your insurance directly, and get a second opinion if something does not seem right. Your child deserves better care. read more

She filled in 2 teeth,deep cleaning upper jaw and extracted 3 teeth excellently only 1 hour,so far no pain and in good condition. Thanks a lot. read more

This location is literally right by my apartment. I went due to having a toothache. I went filled out paperwork they did X-rays on my pretty much told me I had a mouthful of cavities and told me I needed 5k worth of work done. I am going to get a second opinion because they seem like the main factor is noney and not their paitents. Tried to get me to finance a cleaning when I know for a fact my insurance covers it. read more

If I could give them no stars I would. Place was a zoo. Kids running around screaming. Went for a root canal and they broke my tooth, gave me CDIFF and didn't even offer to fix what they broke. Horrible service and blames the client which is insane since we are at their mercy. They did not follow orders or even me begging them not to remove the crown to do the root canal. The dentist did the root canal but left me unfinished and the staff totally trashed her work. First the could not get the temp to fit. Fiddled with it a dozen times then they get it stuck. Using the wrong tool( not what the dentist used to remove the original crown) and next thing I hear a snap. Tooth broke. My room mate recorded the whole thing and told me they dropped my tooth on the floor and then rinsed it off and put it in my mouth. I would not send my enemy here, beware. We are filling a lawsuit soon against them and wonder if there are others that have had the same or worse experience. read more

I should have looked at the reviews about this business before I walked in their door. They are interested in one thing. A Positive CASH flow. Not my $1500 insurance plan. I needed One tooth worked on and $1500 wasn't enough. They wanted $250 more. I told them at least four times only do what the insurance covers. I'm not paying anything out of pocket. I might as well have been talking to the wall. They still asked for more. When I walked out the door it was loud and clear to me that they would rather see my $1500 walk out than meet the needs of their patients. This place is ridiculous. I went once a year ago with my two children. The dentist we saw had the worst bedside manors... insulted my oldest and they ended up billing my insurance for a handful of procedures they didn't do. I have received multiple phone calls from them over the past year claiming my children have appointments scheduled without me actually scheduling them. Not to mention the whole place was filthy. It looked as if they hadn't take a moment to sweep or wipe anything down in years. I would never recommend this place to anyone. I also hate leaving bad reviews, but this place is sketchy, unprofessional and clearly the people working the front desk feel uncomfortable making "confirmation" calls... Do not come here. I came to access dental because my insurance was accepted (ambetter). When I went first, I was told I needed to have two teeth removed. The dentist who was there was from another location and was filling in for the dentist who was on vacation. He was prepared and enthusiastic about taking both teeth out. Luckily, I did not follow his advice as I was referred to an endodontist who said one of the teeth could be saved with a root canal. The endodontics doctor said that the other tooth DID need to be extracted and sent me back to access dental. By then the regular dentist was back. She looked at the tooth's xray (which they had had from my first visit). She said she wouldn't extract that tooth and referred me to a dental surgeon. I have waited 5 weeks for my consultation with the surgeon. I found access dental to be unorganized and inconsistent. I do not recommend access dental. read more

Please stay away from this place. I never see any dental place that take so many xray for teeth cleaning. Can you believe it? between 15 to 20 xray film for my first visit. I thought they only take xrays once per year as other dental places. But I am wrong. They want to take the xray again and when I refuse, the dental assistant shows me to the door (actually hits the door). Their reasoning is they cannot bill the insurance if I dont take xray. However, I already call the insurance the day before and the insurance states that they DON'T REQUIRE ANY XRAY. "IT IS TOTALLY UP TO THE DENTIST". Please be careful. Expose too much to xray can cause cancer. Why would you risk your life for a teeth cleaning? read more

I did get a crown on my right side of the mouth by these people last year and after few days I was not able to open my mouth and jaws started paining , also the crown fell two times and I had to re fix it by them which was annoying . I went to them for couple of times again to complain about other issues I faced and to get it fixed, they did not take it seriously and says it's not. Their fault . The doctor who did this Called Lai was not focusing on what he was suppose to do at the surgery too as he was laughing and taking to his assistant . After few months my pain in the tooth and the jaw increased . Also tooth was sensitive to cold too . When I went their asking help they sent me back and was rude to me especially the supervisor and the also the Indian lady dentist( Gandhi ) as well who checked on me for The second and third time. Finally I was able to get off this shitty tooth out from a different dentist paying out of pocket as my insurance did not cover the crown cost .He said the crown was not fixed properly and explained me all with pictures . Bad place to visit even if you are on some dental benefit as your life is more important than money . despite all front office staff was professional and kind .being a brain surgery patient I suffered a nightmare again . read more

I am disgusted at the quality of this dental clinic. Previously, my 4 year old had to have a cavity filled and was given nitrous. Normal procedure. Well, she wouldn't wake up after the filling and it was very scary. Today, they expected me to violate my HIPAA rights and tell the insurance people over the phone my address, my sons info and other private information while people sat two feet away. Sorry, not sorry. Hire some employees that have care and concern for HIPAA and their young patients. I have already switched dentists. read more

Dr. K is so great! Went in for routine cleaning and exam, had to return for fillings and she did a fantastic job. Highly recommend her, she's patient, very thorough, and kind. The hygienists are always great too. Thank you Dr. K and staff! I'm not so terrified to go to the dentist anymore :D Also should add, I brought my 2 year old here to the same William Cannon location a few months back to see Dr. Patel and he was very kind with him as well. I was naturally apprehensive when scheduling my son for his first dental exam, however, after his visit I was so glad to have him see Dr. Patel who was so thorough and gentle with him and to begin a great relationship with good dental health. Went to this place because it's super close to my apartment. Waited forever for the doctor even though it was close to closing time. They did a rushed exam and told me I had TWELVE cavities. I have never had a cavity in my life and take great care of my teeth. It had been about a year since I saw a dentist and there wasn't a single thing wrong last time. After I declined the fillings, the dentist rushed through my cleaning and it was honestly the first time in my life something has been painful at the dentist. He clearly did not care about me or my comfort at all. When I commented that he was a little rough with the sharp objects he said "haha yeah sorry". I left and called my dentist from back home the next day and he said there's no way in hell I got 12 cavities in that short of a period. This place is a SCAM. read more

I felt like a dollar sign the whole time I was here. I was told I had 15 cavities that I need to cap before they get any worse. When I questioned 15 the assistant said oh wait I miscounted it is 13.This was incredibly hard for me to believe. I have not had a routine cleaning in 2 years but I do take care a reasonable amount of care towards my teeth. I went for a routine cleaning but by the time they put all the numbers in front of me and I declined but said I would follow through with a cleaning. They did not take a detailed amount of time in my mouth after that. They basically quickly brushed the sander over my teeth while not taking notice to each individual tooth and then came through with a drill for the plaque without using the pick at all. They must have spent 8-9 minutes in my mouth tops. It was 99 for cleaning and 35 for the exam ... if you want someone to take actual care in your mouth I would say go somewhere else and spend slightly more. Oh at the end I inquired if they were micro cavities and the doctor confirmed. I asked if mineralizing toothpaste for regrowth and ph spray might be helpful to keep the plaque growth at bay, he agreed. I really just wanted someone to take care of me and not treat me like a walking bag of money, Slim chance these days. Look for someone who is qualified and caring enough to give you options rather than make you feel like you are at an automotive shop getting an oil change. Rant over. read more

STAY AWAY. I am an early 30's professional with excellent insurance who wanted to give this place a try as I am new to South Austin. To summarize, I can tell you that I went in for a cleaning and for a diagnosis on a tooth that was in pain. They told me that I had an infection and that the tooth needed to come out; there was no saving it. The following day when I called to follow up and request an estimate of the costs, they said that there were no medical records of mine in the system and to call back tomorrow because they were swamped. The day after that, I called back as requested and I was told I now needed 3 extractions. I requested a prognosis in writing and they said that they could not provide this. At the conclusion of the phone conversation it was stated that my wisdom teeth are infected. I had my wisdom teeth pulled almost three years ago. ......please go elsewhere. read more

A scheduling fiasco. Worst dental facility I have ever dealt with. I had an appointment which they rescheduled for a time that would not work for me, without calling me! They just rescheduled it. I found out about it the day of my scheduled appointment when they called to confirm the other appointment. They said in their notes that they had contacted me. A bold face lie. I rescheduled the appointment for a time that would work for me. On the day of the rescheduled appointment, I drive all the way there and they tell me I do not have an appointment. Then they tell me the dentist had an emergency and had to leave and that someone had called me to notify me. No one had called me. Another bold-faced lie. I showed her my call history and asked where does it show your number calling me. I asked why would I drive all the way out there if they had called me. I will not deal with this business again. They struck out two times. Now I have to find a new dentist. Don't go there. It sucks. read more

Jasmine did my exam with Dr. Swami she explained everything to me thoroughly it's the best experience I have had with a dental office she did my treatment and she was gentle and took her time didn't rush like other dentists I've had in the past. She put me at ease. They offer very affordable prices overall I'm very happy I will definitely be coming back and will be bringing my children and family here. This has to be one of the best dentists I have seen in a long time. It took me a while to get around to writing this review since our last appointment. This location is much better than the other ones because they have the most caring doctors! Dr. Patel was amazing with my kids. He has a gentle hand when working and a very caring demeanor. He is always willing to take the time out to explain what he is going to do and is very patient with them. My children were crying all the way to the dentist's office, but came out all smiles!! My kids love seeing him and I know my kids are in the right hands! I am so glad that we found our dentist here in Austin. Thank you Dr. Patel! read more

As I walked in the office nobody greeted me as they were talking among each other. I had my kid with me and when he was done playing with the toys we were expected to clean them up with an attitude.The sheets that you have to sign are laminated and were difficult to sign with the pens provided. The people there showed very poor courtesy, as I was getting my x rays done the lady told me to grab my own plastic cover and throw it in the trash, I didn't even get to see the orthodontist just the assistants and they didn't even explain my treatment plan or anything like that, they didn't present themselves like they're suppose to so I didn't even get any names. VERY unprofessional. they just jumped into discussing the prices. When my mom told them it was too much money they rudely said "If you find cheaper places, i recommend you to go there" ..."anyways it was nice meeting you" and quickly dismissed us.
