I've had my pass for months and never used it. Finally came today and it's quite nice. Soothing music and nice seating areas with private rooms available if you come at the right time. We got some chocolates and mixed nuts and a glass of red wine and sparkling wine plus some fruit infused water. Such a nice break from the hustle and bustle of a the shopping mall in a very comfortable and relaxing environment. Service was super friendly. read more

The lounge is located inside South Coast Plaza. It was around Christmas time, so we went to have a break from the very busy mall and get away from all the people. They had a room available for us with a couch and we started ordering some refreshments. We stayed about an hour and it was really peaceful. Everything was complimentary, but always nice to tip. read more

It's been a while since I've been back and the Access Lounge is just as beautiful as I remembered! We visited on a Monday afternoon and there were very few other people around, so we were able to take a quick tour to select a room that we wanted. For Access Lounge day passes, you check in up front and also provide a copy of your ID and how you received the pass. I love that the Access Lounge provides everyone with menus now, so that it's a bit easier to get a sense of what you can order. You will still need to ask what specific types of things are available on the day of, but at least you know what categories of items are available for refreshments. There are some great complimentary options here to take a break and recharge after shopping at South Coast Plaza! Absolutely love this perk. The service is very attentive and courteous, so I always make sure to bring cash to leave a tip even though there's no bill or check at the end of your visit. The facilities and restrooms are also very well maintained. If you have a sales associate or client advisor that you're close with, you can ask them about this perk and see if they can provide you with a day pass. I received an access lounge pass from one of the managers at a store at South Coast plaza. I remember coming here a few years ago when they accepted AMEX members. Due to Covid, they were closed for a while. I heard they were open again so I decided to check it out when I was shopping at South Coast. My access lounge pass was good for 4 people. There were two of us and they gave us a mini tour of the place. This places reminds me of an upscale airport lounge. There were plenty of little rooms and a couple bigger rooms to accommodate larger groups. There's also a little area where you can have meetings and work. We were the only ones there that evening since we came on a weekday. We were offered light snacks and complimentary beverages. It was a nice little break from shopping. Stopped by after some shopping at Saks after realizing we could get in with our AMEX Platinum card. Check-in was super easy - just showed the hostess our card and she logged in our info and offered us a private room near the restroom. My husband tried a glass of wine and a beer while I stuck with coffee (decaf but still tasted good black). We were offered jalapeno chips and water as well! The lounge was clean, hostess was friendly, coffee and wine was delicious and beer was refreshing - will definitely be stopping by on our next shopping trip to relax in between or after shopping. read more

Thankfully South Coast Plaza has an AmEx lounge... I have been here a few times. The lounge itself is beautiful and kept very clean. It has a chic appearance. Although not large there are a few private rooms and few sofas and chairs. They do not have a full bar service but serves champagne, coffees and teas. They also have snack items such as cookies and chips. It can get pretty busy with no where to sit on certain days. I am still thankful this place exists in my favorite shopping plaza. read more

I used to come before the pandemic and was sad to see they had closed for a while, but it turns out it was for renovation. I came over the weekend to see that they were back open. While I used to come as an Amex member they said that the partnership is no longer in place and that it's a true "members only" lounge. They allowed me to stay this time since I didn't know but the quality of service still remained. The staff are all great and attentive. They even told me the process of having an annual membership. Always a great escape. FYI there are only a few ways to get into the lounge now. Member, which is invite only. Getting a day pass as a spender in the shops. Or promotions given out by local vendors or the mall itself. read more

Too crowded! Too many people park on the lounge. One couple took the entire front section. 2 full sofas for 2 people. The guy was on his laptop and was likely there for over an hour. The private rooms should be reserved for Centurion cardholders only! As the only Centurion card member there today, my wife and I sat on the bench. They are even netting VISA cardholders in. This place was busier than Saks. Service was great. Very attentive. I feel sorry for the staff. Too much demand for only a small location. Amex please limit Platinum card holders. There is a 10X difference in the annual fees. Platinum pays $550 per year and Centurion pays $5000 per year. Shouldn't there be a difference in the lounge access? read more

Hidden gem. Small lounge accessible for amex platinum and black card holders. Discreet lounge located thru the silver doors on the second floor before you get to Saks. The attendant who greeted us was less than enthusiastic (Blake?). Firstly, failed to introduce himself. Then politely asked us to step outside the lounge and wait until they brought us the gift (gift with purchase, lunar new year 2019 Liuli crystal pig bowl). He never made mention of the access requirements for the lounge. A different attendant let us know about the access requirements and we were welcome to stay. Then it was a whole different vibe: attentive service with coffees, teas, snacks. The setting was comfortable with a few small private rooms. Overall a nice lounge but with an air of pretentiousness. read more

The Access Lounge is located on the second floor of South Coast Plaza next to Saks Fifth Avenue. You can easily walk past the 2 closed doors thinking that the business is closed. But, inside these 2 closed doors is the VIP lounge of South Coast Plaza. What makes you a VIP of South Coast Plaza? An American Express Platinum card is one way to get in. Another way is staying at a nearby fancy smancy hotel and showing the concierge your hotel key. After verifying that you are a VIP, the concierge will invite you to sit down and relax on their comfy sofas. Because you are a VIP, coffee, alcohol, soda, juices and snacks are offered to you. Everything is complimentary or free! Large screen televisions are mounted on the wall for your viewing pleasure. If you want more privacy, they have a private room that is available on a first come first serve basis. They have 2 clean restrooms inside the private lounge. I'm told they also have a conference room in there. Personal shoppers are also available if you make an appointment. A great shopping day is another reason to stop by here. They will hold your bags for you. Coming here for snacks and drinks will turn a bad shopping day into a good one! The wife drag you to the mall? You missing a football game? It's okay! Head on over to the Access lounge! You just want to chill at a nice little hidden lounge in the South Coast Plaza? This is the place! read more

I'm going to let you in on a little secret Yelpers! There's a VIP lounge at the South Coast Plaza for their big spenders called Access. You get access to this from the different stores there. Each store is different, meaning how much you have to spend to get in is different. From the outside, it just looks like a closed down store. But inside it seems like someone's house! Big plush sofas. Living room area. Dining Table. Bathroom. Computer. It's located right outside of Saks Fifth Avenue on the Second floor. Once you go in, you sign up and there's tons of sitting room everywhere. There are I think two big screen TVs turned to the sports channel. Tables to eat at. A nice bathroom. And, a concierge who attends to personal requests like restaurant and theater reservations. Free beer / champagne (limit 2), sodas, water (Flat and sparkling), coffee, and tea. You're able to order food from the surrounding restaurants and have it delivered here. But you still have to pay for it. You can come here to drop off your bags and continue shopping. Or ladies, you can drop off your men here. They can watch the Laker game, while you shop. I suppose. Each VIP Access Member has one card. With that card, I think they can bring in an additional three people with them. The membership is good for only one year. The place is alright if you're already here. It's a nice place to relax. What a find! I was able to enter the Access Lounge with a special South Coast Plaza VIP Access Suite card, but I also heard that the American Express Platinum Card also works too! I chose the 4 person room and there was a TV and a great sitting area for 4. Enjoyed my latte with biscotti and the kettle chips and nuts. This VIP lounge area is located on the second floor next to Saks Fifth Avenue. You need a card that gets you into to this place. The shops and major department stores give these out to their top shoppers. You can also get access if you're a holder of certain prestigious credit cards such as Amex platinum and if you're staying at some of the surrounding hotels. So the place isn't as "tranquil" or "spacious" as I anticipated. It's supposed to be setup for vip shoppers to rest between shopping...they even hold your bags at the front. They have about 4 rooms including 2 spaces on the main floor and all the rooms are pretty small and stuffy. The A/C wasn't very good in here. There's a Baby room, meeting room, sports room, and a quiet room. I stayed in the sports room b/c it was the largest and it was nice and dim with a flat screen tv with the sports channel on. I think they should have a vanity area for women to brush up after a day of crazy shopping. And SLIPPERS so we can rest our feet! All I wanted to do was kick off my shoes and get a foot massage the whole time! And listen to waterfalls and birds chirping. They need a reading area too...with magazines, newspaper, and books. They have unlimited snacks, cookies, chips, chocolates, fruit infused water, sodas, espresso/coffees, teas and even champagne! I had 2 glasses, thank you! :D They do need to stock up on some energy drinks. The 2 ladies working the lounge were pleasant and very accommodating. But I think there should be a clear list of items available for order. Or there should be servers that go around with a tray of some various snacks for everyone to try... South Coast Plaza's Access Suite lounge is for shoppers. Not a bar. It's a great place to relax and take a break while shopping.

This lounge is definitely very nice, especially while taking a break from shopping or waiting for the Apple Genius Bar. They offer snacks (nuts, chocolate, chips) and beverages (flavored carbonated beverages, champagne, flavored lattes, sparkling water, etc). There was one attendant (Julie) who checked up on us while we were in our room to see if we needed anything--she was helpful and I appreciated her very much. Our experience with her was good. I am deducting a star because the service for a particular attendant was lacking. That attendant's name is Mayra, who seems to be giving this same attitude to other folks as well based off other Yelp reviews. She did not greet us at the door, nor gave us much eye contact...she was not welcoming even when we asked to sign in and for the WiFi. We were given a WiFi password that didn't work despite trying it on multiple devices. I showed the attendant myself writing it in as it is written, and she annoyingly said there was nothing to be done because that is the password...despite it clearly not working and the screen showing it to be an incorrect password. I asked if she can check her network to see if there was an update and she said that the password is the most updated without even checking or even giving any effort in trying to help out. Finally, I tried to figure it out and asked if they could try to restart the router and she reluctantly did so. No surprises, it fixed it...with little thanks to her. She also told us there was a 2 drink max limit per person even though we had only ordered one...she was just rude overall and is horrible to interact with. Overall, I'm giving this place 3 stars because of Mayra. She was not friendly nor did she make us feel welcome in any way. I would come back due to location, convenience, and one kind attendant (Julie), but I hope I won't have to interact with Mayra again. read more

Went today because Saks doesn't open until 12pm, and thanks to all the greedy AMEX abusers of this great service, you cannot access the lounge without day pass. People don't be rude and greedy check in once, relax for a bit and leave. This is not your home. Hopefully we will gain acess again, I really enjoyed the service, and employees were always so nice. read more

Super exclusive lounge with a great snack and drink bar. This lounge is located right next to Saks Fifth Avenue and you can only enter if you have Black or Premium Amex card. After you sign in with your credit card you're able to access their full services. They have a zen room, a few private rooms for families and kids, a nursery and common lounge area with tvs. For snacks they offer chips, nuts and a few other items. For drinks they have champagne, beer, wine, coffee, cappuccino, lattes and other soft drinks. This is the perfect place to swing by after a long day of shopping and it's the best area to get away from the crowd. Service was fantastic and the ladies here were very hospitable. So if you have a high roller Amex card, be sure to stop by! read more

The Access Lounge is a VIP Hospitality Suite located on Level 2, near Saks 5th Ave. It is basically an "airline" lounge outside an airport. Drinks (including Alcoholic) and Snacks are complimentary and are served via the hosts. The lounge includes high-end sofa style seating in an open lobby as well as private rooms consisting of TVs and sofas which are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The lounge also has a very lavish private bathroom, business center with computers and even a meeting room. The lounge is basically a welcome retreat for shoppers who have spent a long time on their feet or for husbands/boyfriends to sit back and relax while their wives/girlfriends shop. The Access Lounge is open Monday - Saturday until 6:30pm and on Sundays until 5:30pm. Cardholders can enter the lounge and bring up to 4 guests, although I did see a card member bring in 5 guests without any issues. Complimentary drinks include: Champagne, fruit infused waters, sodas, coffee, tea and even espressos with biscotti. Snacks include: Chips, pretzels, cookies, chocolates, etc. While everything is complimentary and unlimited, they do limit alcoholic drinks to 2 per person. While this lounge does not offer any amazing benefits, it does offer a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of one of the biggest and busiest malls in the United States. Being able to walk into a lounge and sit in a relaxed, quiet atmosphere and be served complimentary drinks and snacks and be able to use a uber-luxurious and CLEAN bathroom (compared to normal mall bathrooms) is a benefit I'm sure many cardholders would take advantage of on a normal basis. read more

I came here with my family of 6, including a toddler and a great grandma. We were given a private room which was very nice with a toddler. We had access to diapers and wipes and a changing table which my daughter no longer needs but is a nice touch. There was comfy couches, TVs, very nice holiday decorations everywhere. Mayra and Gabby were very attentive. After a full day of malling and spending money, it was nice to have a place to all relax in a quiet and private place before heading to our next destination. read more

The kids were entertained with toys, chips/snacks, and soda/juices while us adults were accompanied with champagne, beer, and cappuccino. Service was exceptional and quick. The staff is cordial and eager to serve their smorgasbord of beverages and snacks. There is the usual variety of chips, assorted nuts, coffee, tea and alcoholic beverages (no cocktails, folks). Their private rooms are great for socializing with friends and family. Coming to the lounge solo? There is wifi readily available, all you have to do is ask. Our friends invited us to this Access VIP lounge for coffee and drinks. We were impressed of its existence inside a huge shopping mall such as South Coast Plaza. It has one main sitting area and three small individual rooms. They serve chips, nuts, pretzels along with complimentary beer, wine, and sparkling wine. Wow! One can order champagne! Since we did not "reserve" in advance, we were seated in the sitting area, claiming that all rooms had been reserved. But we could see that at least one room was empty. So, we sat in the sitting area but needed one more chair. My friend asked if he could move a chair over. No one was sitting on those chairs. He was told that he COULD NOT move a single chair closer to where we sat. So, my friend called a manager in and explained the situation. Finally they brought an extra chair for us. During the entire time we were there, no one walked into at least one empty room! Later I found out it is no big deal to gain access to the VIP lounge. One just needs to have a platinum American Express card! Why they could not be more accommodating and be more smart to do business? Their condescending and belittling manner should NOT be part of the reception and service! read more

Access lounge is very similar to an airport lounge but It is within South Coast plaza, (upstairs next to Sakes Fifth Avenue). If you have a platinum American Express card you can stop by to take a load off, watch a little TV, grab a drink and relax. This is a great place for the guys whose wives drag them to the mall. Okay, so I was very skeptical if I should come here for the reviews about Mayra, but I thought I should give it a shot.. Mayra is a nice honest straightforward person.. there are policies that you cant just ignore, for example, it is ONLY 2 alcoholic drinks per person.. there are the rules and everbody needs to follow them.. The best mall lounge I've ever been to! Ok, this is the only mall lounge I've ever been to, but it was pretty rad! You walk in, and sign in. The host will find a seat for you. I was once sat at the bar, another time I was given a private room. Obviously I liked the room much more. It was easier to talk with my friend. The lounge offers free coffees, fruit infused water, beer, and wine. For snacks there are chips, nuts, pretzels, and chocolates. All items are served to you, just simply tell the staff what you want. Everyone working here is top notch. I never had to flag anyone down, they were all very attentive and made sure to clean up my dishes once I was done, offered me new drinks whenever I was nearing the end of one. 5 stars for service, 4 stars for offerings, 4 stars for seating since you might get stuck in a common area sharing with other people. read more
