I confirmed again upfront to avoid any issues later, but the policy was apparently rigid: one check only, no exceptions. I was offered to speak to a manager, a short Hispanic man in a suit came over with an incredibly condescending attitude. He basically lectured me that "this is how we do things here and this is what the owner wants" and made it sound like I was a trouble make. His tone was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. He rolled his eyes when I explained we just wanted things to be fair and simple. No attempt to accommodate, no apology, just attitude. I expressed it was a terrible policy and should be more accommodating, especially since we asked before our order and not after. I get it for after the fact to have to split up a check would be cumbersome and annoying. Had it been up to me I would have walked then and there but I did not want to ruin dinner for my brother and his family. In the end I tried to Venmo my brother after he covered the whole bill, which was inconvenient and unnecessary. My little brother should not be paying for my dinner, he has his own family to worry about. For a place that positions itself as upscale-casual, this kind of rigid policy combined with poor customer service is unacceptable. Save your money and go somewhere that actually values its customers. Javier's has lost our business for good.

There was one point that we were not served anything for about 30 minutes even though we all had our "green" menu open. I wrote to the Fogo management about this and have not heard any response three days later. This is in excusable for restaurant that I once liked. I warn you to not eat there during busy times and to learn from my mistake. I have cancelled future dinners with them and will choose to eat elsewhere.
