I've been going to this shop consistently for a specific barber. He's great! Always kind and respectful. However, the barber with the whiskers has been extremely rude and unprofessional the last two visits. The first occurrence he entered the shop reeking of alcohol in the middle of the day. My girlfriend that has asthma and allergies coughed. This barber then looks at my while I'm getting my haircut and says she can't be here with a cough. I told him she doesn't have a cough it's an allergy/asthma thing. He then said no she is going to get everyone in here sick, she has to go. I said ok if she goes I'll go too. He responded "Good!" I told my barber to take off everything I was ready to walk out of the shop and cancel both of our appointments. My barber was able to calm the whiskers guy. I told him I'm a nurse and I would know if she was actually sick. My barber apologized profusely for whiskers behavior. I returned because of the amazing hospitality my barber has always shown me. Today being the first time back after the incident. As I'm getting ready to leave whiskers tells me to go look up FEA and I asked him what it means at first he said it was an empowerment thing. He told me to look it up, so I did and there is no FEA. So I asked the barber again what was it and his response was FEA as in ugly. This is the second time this whiskers barbers acts rudely and unprofessionally towards me. Perhaps he was intoxicated again or perhaps he is homophobic. I'm not sure why this whiskers barber decided I'd be a good person to harass. The owners need to speak to this barber and get his unprofessionalism under control. He'll be the reason you'll lose customers. Perhaps one of you was there today to witness my response to him. This man is harassing me and I will not tolerate it. The owner is friends with "Chris" for years and did not witness either event of the harassment I received from Chris. Chris created an extremely uncomfortable/ hostile environment while I was just getting my haircut. Like I previously mentioned I have never spoke. To him before. When I asked him a second time what FEA stood for he said ugly. He tried to be clever and continually harassed me. It's a shame that you protect him over customers. That's bad business. Best of luck to you. I will not tolerate homophobia, harassment nor intimidation. How sad that this is how you conduct business. Protect your alcoholic barber that cuts hair blacked out drunk and harasses customers. Speaks a lot about you and your business. It's not about "vibes", it's about professionalism. You're an establishment that offers services. I tip my barber very well and have been consistent with him. It's really shameful and sad that you allow and protect this behavior. I never interacted with anyone else other than my barber. Chris decided he wanted to try to intimidate me or kick me out and then continued to harass me the very next time I went. As you can see the owners stand by him because they're friends. I recommend, if you prefer a safe and comfortable environment, do not go here. You may experience what I experienced; harassment. In addition to zero support from the owners. Who wants to go into a barber shop encounter a blacked out barber that tries to kick you and your partner out and then the next time you get a haircut he calls you ugly under guise of talking about a band. read more

Went to Tel's last time, nice guys and good enough hair cut, but no appointments are taken so hit or miss on wait time. Went again today (thought would be off hours) to Tel's for a haircut and just couldn't do the wait, again no appointments taken, so I left and decided to try another spot. I called Active Barbers and got an appointment in an hour. Keith cut my hair and man he did a GREAT job! I showed him a picture of how I style my hair and he nailed it. I have an old school hair style and scissors are required, no shame in his scissor cut game! Also really like how he cleans up the neckline and over the ears. I came here with a friend after looking through yelp and was repeatedly disappointed. To begin, parking is extremely difficult with no public parking available for customers. As we were waiting for the two male barbers, we discovered a sign that said "Cash Only" and had to leave the property to withdraw cash at a nearby bank. Upon waiting 30 min (there are only 2 barbers working at a time), I explained to my barber the type of cut I wanted and even provided multiple photos at different profiled angles to help. I could tell he wasn't even listening and he immediately began shaving my head without even fading the sides like I asked him too. I sat there in utter shock and I continually glanced at him through the mirror to find him only focused on watching the television in front of him. I even specifically told him of the direction of my calic before the cut and he ended up cutting it in the wrong direction!! He also gave me a horrible line-up all along my head, which I didn't ask for, and had a rash for several days afterwards. In the head my head was practically bald on the sides and the back and a whole lot of hair sprouting on the top of my head aka. I still tipped the man because I just can't get myself to leave no tip regardless of how much I like the cut. He provided me with a service so I still tipped him $5 but overall, I am extremely disappointed in the minimal effort and lack of attention given to me and my friend by this establishment. These guys may be good but I'll never know. Drove over 1 hour in midday traffic to get there AFTER I called to confirm that I didn't need an appointment. Having never been here before and being very particular about having a great (not mediocre) flat top I took a seat. Since I'd been told that Steve did the best flat top (I'd been told to wait for Steve), I asked which barber was Steve; the girl pointed to the barber standing closest to me. A moment later Steve asked me if I had an appointment to which I replied that I had called and asked that specific question. He turned to his team and asked who'd taken that call? The only female barber in the room responded that it was her. She then began a semi-long explanation of how she hadn't really said they don't take appointments but blah, blah, blah. At that point it was time to go. During this interaction I asked who gave the best flat top; Steve said it was he himself. When I asked who was second best, there was no response. Too bad for me.
