Let me start by saying the food here is truly amazing and so affordable. I enjoyed every bite of my chicken and waffles, hash browns, eggs, and fruit. The mimosa on the side was a great plus as well. Unfortunately, the sanitation and customer service left much to be desired. The plate my chicken and waffles were served on had a bunch of old tried up strawberry stains and pieces on it. Plus my forks and egg plate also had little pieces of dried food on them. When I asked an employee for new silverware and plates he mumbled and brought them back with an attitude. We also asked for the Guest WiFi information and were told " I don't know, go inside and ask". I was very disappointed by these two factors because I truly loved the atmosphere and the food here. The first pace was busy when we came, they did not have enough cups to supply the demand. I was served drinks in a to go cup. The staff was polite and prompt with the food, but had ran out of some supply's, for instance I was going to order the croissant sandwich but they did not have any croissants available. I wanted to get some honey for the waffles I had to order instead and there was no honey left either! It just seemed not well planned on the restaurant to have adequate supplies for the customers. The food also came out very quickly which is always a plus! I ordered the chicken salad sandwich with the sweet potato fries. 4 stars because the fries were soggy on the bottom and over salted and peppered. Picking up to go orders is really easy (except for parking- that sucks if you want a close up spot) I like the food and have tried many different sandwiches and salads on the menu. The staff at the registers were pretty busy this morning, and weren't the friendliest, but they weren't rude either. A smile never hurts. After getting our drinks, we circled around to find a table. No go. It was busy. The only empty spots was the counter top near the front door. Not a problem, but the stools were not the most comfortable. On the smaller side for my backside. As predicted, my boo got the chicken and waffle. I got an omelette with chorizo and spinach. He claims the coffee was pretty good. His chicken (tenders, not on the bone) was crunchy and well seasoned. His waffle was crunchy on the out and tender in the middle. His only complaint as he wolfed it down was that they didn't give him enough syrup. Most places will give you the syrup to poor yourself. This one doesn't. My omelette was good. If not on the anemic side. Toast was excellent and the jam they provided was tasty. The hashbrowns? I don't know what they do to the hashbrowns, but MAN. MANNNN. They were creamy and delicious. My friend and I were looking for a Friday breakfast spot that had some healthy options. Yelp nailed it! This is such a cute spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. My experience is only for breakfast so far. I love the menu and all of the breakfast items, along with the fresh juice smoothies, and variety of coffees offered. We ordered at the register (breakfast and lunch only) and took a numbered table tent. Then found a place to sit. It wasn't over crowded but the restaurant was full. Self serve for most beverages except for lattes, espressos, and smoothies. We didn't wait long for our food to arrive. No butter on the toast and the food deliverers don't wait around to see if the order was right or if you need anything else. I've visited Adair at least 3x per week because it's so close to my office. The food is always great...but the service is kinda a hit a miss for me. I highly recommend the chicken & waffles...and I'm not a chicken & waffles type girl, BUT once you try it, they've got you hooked! The lunch crowd can be a little intense with the line out of the door. Here's an easy fix. If there is a long line when you arrive, call in your order (while you're in line) then proceed pass the line to the comfy lounge and wait a few minutes. Then, head to the bar and tell the bartender you have a call in order and would like to eat there. He will give you a number so you can grab a table. Work EVERY time :) I should also add, there can be a bit of a language barrier with the servers, but it's not too much of an issue. read more

However, the line moved along really quickly :) Highly recommend their Chicken Waffle. Syrup topped waffle (aka heavenly sustenance) and well done fried chicken made my experience at Adair top notch. If you are a secret fried chicken lover (or a public fried chicken lover) like me, you better try this one out or you be trippin'~ Also loved the decor of the place. The atmosphere here is super cute and a little bit retro, which makes this place perfect for a brunch! I've genuinely contemplated writing this review entirely in caps because I loved the food here so much - but anyways, their salads are really the greatest!! (I mean, I guess it's all dependent on what you get because they're customizable, but that's what makes it so great!!) I'm not a huge fan of salad, but here, adding the STEAK (admittedly a little expensive @ ~$15) definitely made this my favorite salad ever. I ordered it with the miso dressing because I've never heard of a dressing like that before but something about the steak and miso combination really just worked for me!! Now that I'm finished raving about that salad, I'll also mention that I tried a few other things including the grilled chicken pesto pita and it was also amazing, mostly because of whatever that sauce inside the pita was. Even though the photo for Adair is a pic of chicken and waffles don't worry!! There are still so many healthy options available!!! All the food that we got was pretty light and filling and guilt free(!!!), so I'm hoping to go back ASAP for more! read more

I think I might've found my favorite breakfast dish here. I'll admit I'm pretty skeptical when it comes to breakfast dishes, my stomach usually gets sick of breakfast foods before I can finish a plate. Can anyone else relate? But I finally found a dish that I think I'll be craving for every weekend. I ordered the Farmers Market Skillet plate, which is both healthy and delicious. The spinach and kale are salted lightly and mix well with the sweet potatoes, chorizo, and goat cheese. I devoured it within minutes! I also tried their famous chicken and waffles, which was well made, but nothing special, in my opinion. The fried chicken was tender but average, however the waffles were fluffy and better than average. I ordered a side of the hash browns because of my love for potatoes, and was surprised to taste that they had embedded a slight cheesy or cream-cheese like flavor, which I personally enjoyed. Finally, I tried out their pancakes. I've never had such fluffy pancakes before in my life. A small stack of pancakes comes with butter, syrup, and diced fruit. I would recommend trying these out! You have to order and pay before seating yourself, and since I went on a Sunday morning, I had to wait a while before being seated. That's the only downside that I experienced. Other than that, this is a typical "two-dollar sign" restaurant, and for about ten dollars, you will experience a delicious and fresh gourmet meal that you will enjoy. Very cute brunch place in the Post Oak area. Large parking lot and a decent size restaurant. There were signs outside for a lineup but luckily we avoided the rush and came around 1:30-2pm on a Sunday for a late lunch and there was no wait. You order at the counter and they give you a number, find your seats and they deliver the food and drinks to your table. Lots of tables and booths, and a few larger tables for parties of more than 4. I had the belgium waffle with a side of hashbrowns and a side of bacon with fresh squeeze OJ and the bf had the daily scramble with tomatoes, avocado, and ham... Yum yum yum! The food came out decently quick and it was definitely what we wanted! The belgium waffle was a little crispy on the edges and fluffy on the inside, topped with berries and powdered sugar.. ahem.. I mean topped with 1 strawberry cut into pieces and powdered sugar. LOL.. I think they can afford to add in some more berries, one strawberry is a little ridiculous. The bacon was crispy and not greasy - plus plus! The hashbrowns weren't your traditional hash browns, they had some kind of cream in it to make it extra creamy. It was good but I wanted it extra crispy - and it just wasn't that. The boyfriend's scramble comes with 2 additions and then each additional add-on after that is $0.75. The scramble was fantastic, it was light and fluffy and creamy cause of the avocado - how do they do it?! Portion sizes were a bit on the smaller side - we ended up still hungry afterwards, though prices weren't bad for what we had. Adair Kitchen was GREAT! I was very pleasantly surprised, partly because I had low to no expectations. I went here with a group of 6 for lunch and it was fairly crowded, but the line moved quickly. You order at the counter and then they bring you your food. In theory. My fiance's food never showed up, but when he went to check on it, they were very nice and brought it out quickly. I had the goat cheese stuffed turkey burger. At first I thought they had forgotten the goat cheese (the most important part), but nope, it's inside the burger. Along with sweet potato fries, it was a delicious and filling meal. My family members enjoyed their meals as well. When my niece and nephew went up to the counter to buy a cookie, it was given to them for free! That was pretty cool. I would definitely eat at Adair Kitchen again. I think what turned me off was the line out the door (which actually went by a little faster than I expected) but mostly the people who totally ignore the big "No Holding Tables, Please" sign. AK is set-up for counter service so 1st. You wait in line. 2nd. Place order and get a number. 3rd. Find a seat. This was a Sunday morning, y'all, so the place was hopping. Served with hot sweet syrup and butter. 2) Egg Crossiant Sandwich: $7.95! The crossiant is flaky, soft, and buttery. I live across the street from Adair Kitchen but had never gone, although I always noticed it was crowded when I went to the grocery store. I had the chance to go for brunch recently. I arrived at around 12:30 on a Saturday afternoon. The space is very open, with high ceilings and lots of seating packed into the space. Despite all of the seating, the restaurant was packed when I went. The restaurant is order at the counter, with many signs indicating that you cannot save a spot before you order. I tried the following items: Orange Juice (5/5): Very quality orange juice. I love fresh-squeezed, and this one was very good and not too expensive. Balsamic Eggs (4/5): Poached eggs topped with a balsamic glaze. A baked parmesan tomato and grilled asparagus are served on the side. I really enjoyed the eggs - they were poached perfectly, and the balsamic flavor was really interesting and unique. The tomato on the side was okay -- I didn't think it was stuffed adequately in comparison to its size, and the asparagus was well cooked. Hash Browns (2.5/5): A square shaped slab of potatoes that is seasoned well and has cheese mixed in. I love trying hash browns whenever I see them on the menu. While these weren't bad, they definitely weren't my favorite. I enjoyed brunch at Adair and was glad I tried it out! read more

I liked that it was counter service, and the line was small and moved very quickly. The guy behind the counter was very friendly as well. We ordered: - Avocado Mash (4) - I added scrambled eggs to this dish, and I very much enjoyed it. There was a solid amount of fresh avocado and goat cheese, and I was very happy with how flavors came together. I did wish they had split this into two pieces of bread, so that it was a little less messy and I had a little more food. To be fair, I was very full after eating this though, so maybe my eyes are bigger than my stomach? - Burger (4) - Boyfriend and I really loved his burger. I would actually consider giving the burger itself a 5, but the fries were pretty awful. I'm not a fan of french fries in general, but these were particularly not my taste. - Honey Mustard and Avocado Chicken Sandwich - my friend really enjoyed her dish, but I didn't try any, so I don't want to rate it. I had a good experience here and would come back. After scanning through other reviews though, I'd make sure to do so on a not busy hour where it seems most complaints are coming from. Loved the design of the space. Large open dining area, with various seating options. Booths, small tables, tall tables, etc. Wait staff and counter help was mixed. Most were high school age and saw a couple completely stop work to chat up friends and friends of family who have come in. I'm fine with people being friendly but one person left her register and a line of ten plus people so she could go hug her bestie for fifteen minutes. Food was very good. Most options are health centric clean concepts and light bights. I had a sandwich with avocado greens and other no guilt ingredients to accompany the skinless grilled chicken breast. It seemed like a pretty contemporary American restaurant, and when we walked in it wasn't too busy but had a nice flow of people. We were promptly seated, and then the wait began. After about twenty minutes, I went up to the hostess to make a comment about how we haven't been greeted and haven't even gotten water in the time that we had been there. About five minutes pass, and we're FINALLY greeted. We order. I got the Pecan Crusted Baked Chicken. It was pretty good, though it tasted more like a honey glaze rather than a citrus one. The Brussels Sprouts were a little overcooked, and the risotto was definitely, very, very overcooked. I honestly forgot that it was risotto that I was supposed to be eating, rather than just weird mashed potatoes. The only plus was that the chicken tasted pretty good. Tender, with a nice texture from the crust, pretty flavorful. The pinot noir table wine was pretty straightforward - not complex and easy to drink. I decided to try out the pecan pumpkin pie. It was definitely a miss. It was missing the spices of a pumpkin pie, and the texture of the pecan pie. Cute little place for brunch or dinner! It's tucked inside a shopping plaza, so it can be hard to miss, but I had no problems spotting it when I came for the first time. I ordered the ceviche (it was with white fish or something) which was under appetizers, and usually I would order something from the entree side but after a dental procedure, one can only eat so much. To my surprised, the portion was quite big, which is a plus for me, just means more bang for my buck! My friend ordered one of their burgers and to me, it just seems kind of small compared to most other places. We came on Friday night for dinner, but maybe it was just during the dinner rush, but service was a bit on the slow end. Overall, it was a good experience.
