Amazing food! Every bite was fabulous! Don't miss out on this gem! Beautiful place. I don't know what they put in those mimosas but they were sooo good!

The new Hungry's location is arguably there best yet. The decor and ambiance present a cozy and warm vibe with modern elements seen through out. Whether you are hosting a cooperate event or spending time with friends and family, Hungry's will live up to the occasion. While the restaurant continues to evolve, the patio is turning into a spot I can see myself using frequently. The key is managing Houston's unpredictable climate. I've seen a few harsh reviews suggesting poor service experiences. For those I say, several of the service staff are young professionals with a mix of seasoned elites. If your expectations are not being met I encourage you to voice your concerns to management. Allow them the opportunity to make it right. If that fails then by all means voice your concern or opinion. That goes for any establishment. Gerald, is a creative and talented bartender. I would encourage all bartending staff to listen to his expertise. The Smoky Old Fashioned and Espresso Martini are the best. I also recommend the Spicy Pineapple Margarita and other House Infused mixed drinks. Antonio, Edgar, Mateo and Genesis deserve special recognition for their consistent well received service. They always go above and beyond to exceed expectations. My personal favorites are as follows Food *Hummus *Brussel sprouts *Crispy chicken dinner is a must *Crispy chicken sandwich *Chicken kabobs *Mushroom, pepperoni pizza with cauliflower crust *Margarita pizza Negatives: They HAD the absolute best house made fries. While the current version tastes fine the originals set the restaurant apart. For that reason I would consider the fingerling potatoes as an alternative.

Thirsty?s - that should be a better name. Or perhaps Grumpy's. Pluses 1. Big outdoor patio and easy free parking, casual rustic ambiance. Areas to improve 1. Service sucks - our server was Legacy and she took our order and did not return. I flagged two different servers to get more ice tea and our check and nothing happened. I then grabbed my two empty teas and flagged the hostess through the open window in the patio who then asked the bartender to bring us ice teas. Then, voila Legacy came back with our bill. We were very thirsty the entire time because it was very hot outside despite ceiling fans on. And grumpy we both felt... 2. His kabob meal listed veggies but didn't specify broccoli, which he hates. 3. My gyro plate was very salty and dry, do not recommend. 4. Music was loud and weird Tax and tip over $60 for brunch, expensive and the most lousy, inattentive service I have had at any establishment in Houston. Not recommended. Remember you will stay Thirsty! And perhaps Grumpy's when you leave.

We decided to celebrate our friend birthday here for brunch. We decided to sit outside since the weather was a bit cool and so that we could have a bit of privacy since it was a party of 11 of us. Our waitress Ruby U. Was absolutely amazing. So take care all of us by herself. Anything we needed she was prompt to accommodate. I had the beet juice and an egg sandwich. The food was delicious! The service was amazing and the restaurant was very nice and clean. Plenty of parking and great food options.

Great brunch with large portions. I love their lentil soup. I could eat it every day. I have had just about everything on their menu except the plant based bowls. Everything has great flavor and is delicious. My one critique is the kabobs. Mine were well done and tough. Probably a good idea for me to specify how I want it cooked, but I wasn't asked so I didn't know I had a choice. I will do that next time. I mean no restaurant gets everything right 100% of the time. I sit at the bar to eat and Stephanie is the best! The entire staff is great. Also, for the amount of food you get the prices are pretty reasonable. When they go up, which I'm guessing they will, as I understand they are getting a new menu, it may finally be the impetus for me to eat at home! One more thing...their cauliflower crust pizza-you truly cannot tell it's not regular crust. Just typing this is making me HUNGRY and I may just have to go again today, making it 2 days in a row,

I also recommend their Crispy Chicken Sandwich, which I asked for spicy. Very satisfying! It comes with a side and I chose Caesar Salad. It's hard to choose sometimes, and I wanted to try something new to me. We opted for J. Alexander's and made reservations though it really wasn't busy for a Sunday evening. For being in the uptown park area, it sits on a huge lot with plenty of parking compared to all the restaurants across the street. We were seated in a nice booth on the second level. The food came out quickly. We opted for the HRW menu. Deviled eggs - Good. Filled with lots of yolk and the pickled relish but kind of dry. It needed more mayo. It was also heavily dusted with paprika all over and on the plate for "decor". 5 oz filet with bearnaise sauce and loaded baked potato - The filet was really small for 5 oz. Even the small filet medallions at B&B Butcher are slightly bigger. It was flavorful. Some parts looked more medium well than medium. I skipped the bearnaise sauce. It tasted vinegary more than creamy. The baked potato was really good. It was soft and fluffy and was great with all the toppings. Carrot cake - I've never had a warm carrot cake before but thought it was good. The icing is sweet and could have more cream cheese in it. I think the carrot cake had shredded coconut in it. Unique. Mocktail: I had the Lyre's pineapple margarita. Loved it. I would order that again. Not too sweet or sour and enjoyed the chamoy/tajin around the rim. I'm curious about their other dishes. I'd be opening to trying more items on the menu. My friend's Brasserie Chicken with panko-crusted, parmesan, lemon caper sauce, tomatoes, smashed potatoes, and broccoli looked really good and was a large portion. Service was great, and they pack your leftovers for you and place it on a hook at the end of the booth.

I wandered in not expecting much, but my experience here ended up much better than I thought…read more I went with their August prix fixe and went with their Truffle Deviled Eggs, Crispy Sweet & Sour Shrimp, and Key Lime Tart. The deviled eggs make good comfort food and was satisfying. This version doesn't have much of a kick, but it's very creamy and you can definitely taste the truffle oil. The homemade potato chips also add to the texture and salt between bites. The shrimp dish was fun with a light and crispy batter, well-seasoned and drizzled with sweet chili sauce. The cool ranch surprisingly added to the shrimp and enhanced the chili sauce rather than overwhelming it. The made-in-house fries were far better than expected. I was somewhat expecting dense, oily, boring fries, but these were very crisp and somehow didn't feel too greasy as far as fries goes. Almost seemed like an injustice for it to be served with ketchup as it was too good for it. Lastly, the tart was a great way to end the meal without it being too much. Loved the crust. The tart shell tasted really good and went well with the filling, which had a lighter consistency than pudding. Fruits tasted like they were on season, even though it should be a bit too late for strawberries. I'm also a sucker for meringue. I'll have to come back to see if it wasn't a fluke, but there were a lot of dishes here that looked good. Maybe even swing by for happy hour, we'll see. The meatballs and tomato sauce were both solid and I loved the toasted bread on the side. As for the truffle deviled eggs, that's something you don't see often on the menu! The truffle flavor/aroma was solid and the fresh chips on top were nice. The cheeseburger was pretty good and I enjoyed all the veggies that came with! Aside from that, the restaurant had a neat interior/decorations and good service!

I wasn't sure what to expect based on the name of the restaurant, but essentially their seafood options are spectacular. And it feels like an exclusive club because the decor and service are both very much high class and special. We tried the coconut shrimp as the appetizer and really liked it. It was lightly fried and the shrimp was cooked to perfection - not under and not over. I would highly recommend this one to start. Loved it. If you're looking for a fair-priced meal, they have lots of salad and sandwich options. I tried the salmon poke bowl and it was so delicious. The fish was extremely fresh, and all the flavors blended together really well. It was like a healthy party in my mouth. It was great decision. You wanna splurge a bit and live large like YOLO? You gotta get the crab cake. Now, how good can a crab cake be? Well, if you're paying close to $50 for one crab cake, you better believe it's gonna be freaking awesome. And alas, it was. Best crab cake I've ever had in my life, no joke. And I've tried a lot of crab cakes in my many decades of dining out. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant and will be coming back many times. Enjoy! Quick note on parking - plenty of parking in a huge lot shared by many businesses such as Kenny and Ziggy's. Only annoying part is several sections of the lot are designated for specific businesses, so just look for the signs and be willing to park a little bit further away towards Taco Deli and Bluestone.

Unfortunately, this turned out to be one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in quite some time. We had an 8:00 PM reservation but weren't seated until around 8:30 PM. While delays happen and I was willing to overlook that, the experience only went downhill from there. We ordered Palomas to kick off our Friday night. The drinks took quite a while to arrive, and when they did, they were noticeably watered down. I politely mentioned it to our server, who quickly took them back and brought replacements, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the second round was nearly identical to the first. When I brought it up again, instead of acknowledging the feedback, the server responded by saying it was "just not a sugary drink." That completely missed the point. I wasn't expecting a sweet cocktail--I was pointing out that the drinks tasted diluted and poorly made. What bothered me most wasn't the drinks themselves, but how the feedback was handled. I wasn't looking for free drinks or trying to be difficult. I was simply offering honest feedback, and it felt like my opinion was being dismissed rather than heard. Unfortunately, the food didn't redeem the experience. We ordered several dishes to get a good sense of the menu, and most were overwhelmingly salty. The salt overpowered any other flavors to the point that we couldn't finish some of the dishes. The sushi was the best thing we had, but even that lacked the presentation and quality I would expect at this price point. To be fair, the manager did remove the drinks from our bill as a courtesy, and I appreciate that gesture. However, by that point the damage had already been done. A resolution is only effective when guests feel heard and respected throughout the process. Instead, I felt like I had to defend my opinion and justify my feedback before anyone took it seriously. At the end of the day, a restaurant can be trendy, crowded, and beautifully designed, but none of that matters if the food and service don't deliver. Balboa Surf Club has the atmosphere and location, but in my experience it falls short where it matters most. Overall, I'm glad I finally tried it because I had always been curious, but now I know I won't be back and cannot recommend it. If you're looking for a similar concept, I'd recommend Hudson House. The atmosphere is comparable, but the drinks are consistently well-made, the food is much better, and the service has always been far superior.
