My husband and I popped into Adalina on Tuesday right at 4. Their happy hour is 4-6 on weekdays with $9 bites and drinks. Their rotating cocktail was Gin and lemongrass Umami Whisper while my husband tried the spectacle that is the mini martini trio. His favorite was the last, parm. Then the gnoccho fritto was to be eaten folded up like a sandwich. The arancini was so delicious my husband ordered another. Bread service was just ok, and my polenta was crispy and the sauce was delicious. The calabrese is their most popular drink. The meatballs were seasoned very well. I visited here for my birthday Happy Hour, and I really appreciated the reasonable prices. While the flavors and options for the food could be more exciting, the experience had its shining moments. The chips served with the prosciutto were unexpectedly salted with vinegar, which was quite a surprise--perhaps that could be clarified on the menu. I found the polenta cake and meatballs a bit on the bland side, but the gnocco fritto tasted good despite not quite making sense to me. My favorite dish was definitely the arancini. The restaurant has a charming vibe; the stylish wall and chandelier as you walk up the stairs create a welcoming atmosphere. The staff was truly attentive--very thoughtful of them to bring out a dessert with a lit candle for my birthday. We came by for dinner on Saturday night around 5:30pm, and were promptly shown to our table. Once seated we were offered our choice of water. Shortly after we were brought the drink menu when our waiter came by. Our drinks came out pretty quickly and we went ahead and ordered all of our food. We started with the stuffed bread, and the meatballs. The stuffed bread was everything I wanted and more, it was so good we had to order a 2nd one. I was trying to flag our waiter down to put in the order for the 2nd one before we finished our meatballs but she took about 20 minutes to circle back to us. She kept walking by our table but when we try to flag her, she would walk away. We forked it up to her being rather busy as the dinner rush may be starting but there was still a good amount of empty tables around us as we came in for an early dinner. Shortly after the room started filling up a bit and we noticed that the tables that got sat around us, had already received their food and we were still waiting. We didn't get our entries until a little after 7. The two folks behind us that came after we had already finished our apps, and ordered way after us, they had the same dishes we ordered but got theirs first. Again we tried to flag our waiter down. Finally she comes by and goes 'where's your food?' Because we could see the hostess constantly checking on our progress probably needing the table. About 15 minutes later our food came out. Our entrees were the salmon Vesuvio, the short rib and the Agnolotto pasta. It was about 7:15 now and we quickly ate and were waiting around again for our waiter. We were going to skip out on dessert but we were celebrating a few different things and wanted to make a full experience. The salmon was great, it was missing a sauce of some kind but the gnocchi that came with it was perfection. The short rib was a bit on the dryer side, but the ricotta gnocchi cake that came with it was rather interesting. So we ordered the tiramisu and some cookies to go. The tiramisu took a bit to get out but a gentleman kindle came by and saw that we were just sitting there empty water glass, and empty table to offer us some coffee while we waited. Shortly after dessert came out, we just asked for the check and she just stood there waiting for the check. We left the restaurant around 8:15pm. We really weren't expecting to be there past 7 as that was the reason we came for an early dinner. All in all, we had a decent experience. That being said: it is Gold Coast so if you want a flashy spot for clients or a night out this may be the spot. We were able to make a reservation for a Saturday evening which made us happy. Unfortunately, our previous reservation at a different restaurant was cancelled, however, we ended up at Adalina - which worked out!!!! I was happy to see the details when going up the stairs and seeing hanging flower lights to a romantic type setting with enough lighting to enjoy each other's company! We were greeted and immediately seated. Our waiter walked us through the menu and highlighted some of the popular dishes the restaurant had to offer. After taking a few minutes to review the menu, we decided on the following items. We started off with two drinks - 1 each - Jolene and Gold Digger. We then proceeded to order: Gnocco Fritto - which to my surprise was really good! I enjoyed the whipped ricotta with the honey Truffled Caesar Salad - the truffle mainly stayed in one area of the salad, so we didn't enjoy it as much as we would have liked to. Agnolotti - the huitlacoche sauce was a tad bit salty for my taste but it worked. Instead of ordering one additional plate to share, we ended up order two! Short Rib Salmon Vesuvio Short Rib was soft and tender to the touch. Honestly, you didn't need a knife to cut through it. The gnocchi alla romana was surprisingly good and went well with the short rib jus. Salmon Vesuvio was a hit except for the crust. The salmon was a bit overcooked so it wasn't as buttery as I would have expected and the crust was too charred so most of the top layer was too crunchy. The potato gnocchi was pillowy and it saved the dish! After we were done with our food, we waited quite a loooong time (5+ almost 10 minutes) before our waiter came back with a dessert menu. We ordered a Tiramisu thinking they forgot about my birthday dessert.... Lo and behold, they brought out the birthday tart, but no one other than my partner sang happy birthday to me. The person who dropped it off wished me well for my b-day but no other people were around to sing to me. All in all, it was pleasant for the short time we were there. read more

It always feels weird to go against the grain, but my mom and I did not have the five-star experience everyone else seems to have had. My mom and I went here on 6/14/2024, we had reservations for outside, but it was too chilly to sit outside. We let the host know and he rudely told us there was a long wait, we said that was fine and told him we would wait at the bar. We grabbed some drinks at the bar and after about 30-minutes we checked in at the host stand, just to get an update and gauge if we should just eat at the bar, the host made us feel like we were bothering and inconveniencing him and with the same rude attitude, he reiterated the long wait and dismissed us. We decided to have another drink at the bar to see if things would change, but ultimately ate at the bar. The bartenders were awesome and quite personable and attentive. I got a couple (several) expresso martinis and the bartender used a machine to create a cute picture on the top of my martini with the foam. For dinner, we got bread service and oysters to start, these were both good. We also got the Lumache (shrimp, scallions, calabrian chili and fennel pollen; a pasta) and the short rib. Despite the positive reviews for the Lumache, it left something to be desired, the pasta was too al dente and the dish lacked flavor, however the short rib was quite good. I was expecting a lot more. Ultimately, this is your standard Viagra Triangle--an overpriced tourist trap that's an easy skip, with at least a dozen better options if this is what you're going for. The atmosphere and design are solid--swanky and grand--with a great view of the city streets if you get a table by the window. Service started out really strong with a great menu rundown and good personality. But the pace of the meal was an "F." We had a time limit that was stated at the start of the meal. Twenty-five minutes past our planned departure time, we still hadn't received our entrées, so we had to bounce and missed half the meal. The cocktails were actually really good--a definite strong point. The menu looks appealing, with tons of things I wanted to order, but at the end of the day everything was just okay. Nothing was memorable, and the prices are freaking insane. The gnocco fritto was okay, but the staff hyped it too much. The fried green tomatoes were something I've had better at home, with basically the same panko crust my wife makes. The bluefin tartare was a huge miss. The ambience in the restaurant was lovely as usual. Our waiter this time around was exceptional. Chad was very knowledgeable of the menu items. He was timely with taking food/drink orders and simply put did not miss a beat. Even when the tables started filling up and the restaurant got busier, my husband, and I never felt abandoned. This time around ended up trying the truffle Caesar salad, which was really good however, it had a little too much dressing for my taste. The steak was very well prepared. I am definitely glad I got the mushroom Conserva on the side because it would've been too salty otherwise. The octopus appetizer was quite delicious. However, the horseradish was a little too overpowering for my taste. My favorite dish of the night was the rigatoni. The pasta was prepared al dente and to perfection. Never tried a pasta with this flavor profile before the pepperoncini definitely made it unique and I would highly recommended it. Shout out to our bus boy as well. He was very attentive and personable! Since it was Good Friday, I skipped meat and stuck to seafood and pasta. I am unsure how this place has such good reviews if I'm being honest. Our service was very slow and our server barely checked on us. We had 7:30 reservations and didn't leave til 10:30 (party of six). That's a crazy long time for dinner as every course seemed to drag out waiting. I had the halibut which I would recommend to absolutely no one but my worst enemy. The first time it came out, it was way over cooked and dried out. The second time, better but the dish was so incredibly salty I could barely eat it. Everyone else had a pretty mid experience with their food as well. My husband had salmon, also over cooked. To be transparent, they took my fish off the bill and gave us free desserts, which was nice - however all I wanted was good food, not free food. We came here to celebrate a birthday and boy was it packed on a Friday night. However, even as busy as they were, the service was exemplary. We started with a round of sparkling wine on the house because the restaurant was celebrating I think 30 years? We then got a round of drinks that were pretty good. All the food especially the pastas were delicious but what I really appreciated about the place was the service. We ordered scallops that were taking a little longer (probably because the kitchen was slammed with all the filled tables) and the staff kept us updated the whole time and even brought us a meatball on the house because of the delay. They really kept checking in with us to make sure we were happy. For the birthday, they brought out a dessert and sang. Honestly, they sang quite a few times that night so there were a lot of celebrations going on. We ended with some cookies that were very good. Just an aside but to give you an idea of how busy they were, there was apparently a pretty long line to the restrooms by the time were paying the check and getting ready to go. Low lightening, soft jazz music and laughter from amongst patrons. We were seated in the back of the restaurant at a Thanksgiving like table. Our server (name not received) was phenomenal. She was quick, attentive and definitely had great memory. She ensured we were all well taken care of. I ordered the Girelle pasta dish for $23. Normally, the pasta dishes are on the smaller side so they encourage you to possible get a side or use it as an app to the bigger plates. However, I felt my dish was perfect for one person to eat and be full. Was I satisfied? Yes, yes I was. You can definitely taste that the pasta is made fresh and in house. The entire staff was super nice! From the host, to busser, to manager working the floor, to our server. For food we shared salad and gnocco fritto and for entrees we had the spicy vodka sauce pasta. The caesar was phenomenal, and one of the best I've had. The gnocco was not pleasant (for me personally). The pasta was soooooo good; I usually don't like ricotta on my pasta because I don't enjoy the cold and hot temps mixing but it was subtle in this dish. The only reason I am taking a star is just because it was pricey to add protein to pasta; wish the server had let us know BUT we didn't ask so maybe that was our fault. Extensive wine list with really interesting offerings. I chose a Gaja white from Sicily and 2019 Il Poggione brunello. Seafood tower was terrific and worth the price tag. We finished our apps and two friends arrived to say hello. The place was booked solid but the manager asked if they wanted to expand the table and join us. So nice. Service was off the charts! I feel like we had ten people taking care of us. Every time I turned around there was someone asking if I needed anything. Food was perfectly prepared. We had a few pasta dishes, branzino and the veal chop. Everyone shared which was fun. Desserts came along with unique after dinner drinks and coffee. They made our night perfect from start to finish. This is probably one of the best experiences I have had since 2020..... whomever is hiring their servers, you're doing the right thing. Tried a little bit of everything and all of the desserts. The Lamb rack was out of this world. Started with the charred octopus and it was melt in your mouth. Also had the chicken Milanese- also delicious. But here's what impressed me the most. Our server was so knowledgeable in what was on the menu. He guided us through everything and what to pair what with which was nice for once not ever dining there before. He was kind, funny, professional and very accommodating. The owner is also of that nature and really appreciated him stopping by the table to chat. I kind you not we ended the night with every dessert on the menu- not one of them disappointed. This place is thriving after Covid and I have high respect for that since we've lost so much connection and experience since then. I had the pleasure of having brunch here this past weekend with friends. When you enter the restaurant you have to walk up a flight of stairs in order to reach the host stand. Once I arrived, it didn't take long for me to check in and they have a few chairs in the waiting area. There is a beautiful bar and a variety of wines to choose from. Now the food. I ordered the biscuits and gravy along with a peach Bellini! Both were excellent options. The biscuits and gravy was the perfect portion size and I literally ate the whole thing. I visited Adalina the end of April. I was very excited to come here and enjoy their happy hour and mocktail drinks with my family as I have been searching for a space that serves really great non-alc beverages and good starters. The location, the design, the decor, the ambience of this establishment was elegant and beautiful. The reason I am giving this a 1 star is because me and my family experienced racist behavior from our server and the bussers. The bussers kept coming to our table every 5 minutes to take away our plates and dishes in a way that felt like we were being rushed and not welcomed. For context, there were people who were there before we arrived who were casually enjoying themselves alongside the people that were sitting next to them. I observed around the space and those sitting across, in front, and on the side of us to see if this was standard to collect plates and dishes every 5 minutes and it was not. Those around my family and I who were not black were not treated this way. The bussers didnt come every 5 minutes to collect their plates or make them feel as if they wanted them out of there in a rush. Our server wasn't very kind of friendly and it just seemed as if we were not welcomed there despite trying to enjoy ourselves and experience the same customer service that everyone else around us received. It was disappointing. As an african american woman of color with a Masters degree in Hospitality I was excited to experience Adalina because I had heard wonderful things about it but that was not me or my families experience. Joined friends for dinner, a bit impromtu. The table was outside street side. Despite it being an upscale restaurant, the Waitress was really hyper, frequently interrupting our table discussion and lacked ability to bring food out by appropriate course, it was really strange. Appearance-wise, she didn't fit the part at an upscale establishment either. I was not all that hungry so I skipped ordering an appetizer. My meal was brought out when my friends were eating octopus salad and shrimp cocktail appetizers. The portion was pretty small. By the time I finished the Waitress was asking me about having dessert (which I declined) but my friends didn't even get their main meals delivered yet. It was just so OFF! I also asked multiple times for lemon for my sparkling water but it never came. Such lackluster service! To make it even more bizzare, I needed to use the restroom but it was (of course) upstairs inside the restaurant. All the WC stalls (Co-ed) were occupied. Had to wait a bit, and there isn't really a good place to stand without being in somebody's way. Once one opened to use it had no TP or soap and the seat was up, wet covered in someone's urine, ewwww!! I get that it is "PC" these days to have bathrooms that cater to everyone, but let's face it: no self respecting woman wants to deal with pee-lined toilets or floors at a fancy restaurant!! Not to sound petty, but when it came time for the bill I specifically handed the Waitress my card saying to just put my water and my meal on my card, and let my friends handle the rest, but somehow she didn't understand that. I didn't want to make a stink about it and make the experience MORE awkward but since this Waitress could not follow my simple instructions, I ended up paying for 1/2 of the appetizers and 1/2 of a bottle of wine I didn't even partake in. I suppose I expected her to know what I ordered and to charge me accordingly. This review is moreso a direct reflection of a Waitress not being very socially or service aware, the food was "fine", granted I only had meatballs ($17). My card was charged $80 before tip. Not cool, not cool at all. The ambiance did look really nice and swanky inside, just super DARK lighting. There was a gorgeous piece of artwalk in the stairwell which definitely deserves the mention. I think had we dined inside it might have been a totally different experience. To the management: please do something about the WC situation, and hire competent waitstaff. read more

Food: I tried this place for my birthday in January for the first time. The food was so mind-blowingly good. Literally every bite I ate I savored. We started with the octopus which was so delicious. My friends ordered the Lamb Rack and the Chicken Milanese. They both enjoyed them. I tried a bite of their entrees and they were very good. The Lamb Rock being my favorite of the two. It was so juicy, tender with great flavor. My favorite was the Salmon Vesuvio. The gnocchi was so pillowy soft and almost melt in your mouth. I'm drooling just thinking about it.
