I called for a last minute appointment on a a Saturday. I'm a busy stay at home mom and hadn't gotten a cut in over a year - and decided it had to be done! Diana fit me in and instead of just getting a basic trim, after speaking with her and finding how knowledgeable she was I went ahead and treated myself to a root touch up/color as well. Diana was SO kind and knowledgable. My experience exceeded any and all expectations I had for that day. I felt so incredibly cared for, so relaxed, and the end result had me shocked! Since moving to Fremont, I have been on the hunt for a reliable salon for hair needs. I found Addiction Hair Studio and Diana via Yelp and decided to give her a try this past Friday. I booked a haircut appointment. Upon arrival, Diana was very nice and asked what kind of haircut I was hoping to get (I told her a trim, since it's been almost a year since my last haircut). She spent about 5 minutes describing the problems she saw with my hair, and how she could help fix it. I liked that she took time to describe her process, and throughout the cut, would show me how much she is cutting etc. I also mentioned wanting to fix my highlights as again it was a year ago when I got them, and my natural black hair had grown out, and was hoping to get the new hair also colored/highlighted. However, I might have miscommunicated that and Diana interpreted it as wanting to tone down the yellow/orange in my pre-existing highlights - which I was fine to do too. I was just hoping to do both. Understandably, I had booked this appointment for haircut ONLY and she squeezed in the toner part for me - ended up cutting about 15 minutes into the next girl's appointment - so I am grateful to Diane for accommodating me on that (and sorry for the next person ). The toner seemed to have toned my orange a bit down at the end, but when I got home and looked again in the mirror I couldn't really notice much of a change. Lastly, they only do a very rough drying of the hair. Shampooing during the hair wash was also short and not very in-depth. Total was $55 for the haircut (for short/medium length hair) and $65 for the toner = $120. read more

As it turns out she is the owner, Since both my sister and I have thin but very curly hair it's not easy going to a new stylist. I want to preface this by saying I haven't been to a hair salon in YEARS! I trim my own hair and have for years... AND I don't like seeing myself in the large mirrors inside all salons, I feel like a linebacker! My sister said why don't you close your eyes and relax... Lol Diana made me feel very comfortable here. She's a gem! Okay...Diana starts my consult what do I want? I tell her. She's a professional... she listens to me and thankfully she knows how to deal with people. She kindly tells me what might be a better idea! Thank goodness I actually listened and took her advice! Her suggestions were pretty close to what I wanted just better! My hair hasn't felt or looked this healthy in eons... probably decades... Oh poor Kim! 8 months later and layers of polish...YIKES! She actually thought I had gel...Nope. Never has anyone ever used a dremel tool on me to take off polish, but I get it! She added lemon & lime slices to the water in a lined bowl of the spa chair. Nice touch! All Covid19 precautions are followed here. When you arrive you wait at the door. Answer a questionnaire make sure you're masked they are masked & gloved. Everything is clean and disinfected. Social distancing is practiced here. Only one other client came in while I was there, We were about 30' apart. Although I didn't notice any autoclave bags for the pedicure everything was clean. Parking on street or in the small lot directly behind the salon. Prices seem reasonable for hair they have posted lists. Pedicure base price $25. Yes, I recommend Diana for hair! This was not a good haircut. From start to finish, including washing, it took 20 minutes. My usual haircut time - 1 to 1.5 hours, and I have long hair. There were two big issues: 1) The person cutting my hair kept cutting it longer than I wanted. At a certain point, I was just like, look, I know how much my hair springs back, I want it cut this short. 2) Usually when my hair is cut, the persons will take a bit of hair at time and snip (they do this even at SuperCuts) but this person just cut it all at once, like something I could have done at home. When I pushed back, she said her "skills" allowed her to do this Result, an uneven haircut that I have to go get fixed. EDIT IN RESPONSE TO DIANA'S RESPONSE: Well I guess they are liars as well. I didn't really know what to expect but I really enjoyed my experience. Diana explained the whole process to me which was super helpful for me since there was a lot I didn't know. What I appreciate is that it is a very educational experience and she helps you figure out how to improve your skin beyond the facial. She did share the names of the products she was using but wasn't pushy about selling me the products.
