This was my very first time in Texas and had never tried Tex-Mex food before. The hostess was very friendly and efficient, although they were busy we were seated immediately. Within the next couple seconds, our server Caroline, greeted us with chips and salsa and was very charismatic. She made us feel welcomed, she even offered us the spicy salsa which was so delicious. She was knowledgeable on the menu and recommended us dishes that fit our taste buds since my husband and I are selective eaters. The food came out HOT, quick and delicious. My husband and I ended up sharing the sizzling fajitas for 2. They were so tender, portions was great and the Spanish rice was so flavorful. Dropped by for lunch with my daughters. Adobe Cafe has been around for a long time and probably a New Braunfels staple. I had the cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. and both my daughters had chicken enchiladas. My enchiladas were definitely good but I have had better. My daughters really liked their chicken enchiladas because they cleaned their plates. The rice and beans are good, but once again I've had better. One surprise I had is the corn and flour tortillas are homemade and I do love homemade corn tortillas. Our server was nice and after she took our order the food came out of the kitchen very quickly. I hadn't been here in many years but they really have kept the restaurant up to date. It even has a separate bar area. I don't live in New Braunfels but I will tell you this is a very popular place during lunch. read more

Had lunch at Adobe today with my wife. Megan W was our server and she went above and beyond expectations to take care of us. She helped navigate the menu based on some dietary restrictions and brought in her very helpful manager to answer some of our questions. Food was fantastic but the service is what will bring us back when we are in the area. read more

Love, love our experience there! We're from North Carolina and were vacationing in the area. We were looking for a sports bar so we can watch some football while we ate. There are several tv screens spread throughout. The food is awesome!!! For appetizer, we both enjoyed the fried mushrooms the best so don't forget to try them. read more

Adobe has quickly become my go to Mexican restaurant in town. Some of my favorites are: - fajita chicken quesadilla - sizzling chicken fajitas - fajita dinner plate - chicken fajita salad - regular queso As you can see, I LOVE their fajita chicken. It is so delicious. I have recently discovered their "chipotle ranch" and I literally put it on everything I eat there, DELICIOUS. They have pretty good happy hour specials, and I always enjoy the margaritas I get there. Service is prompt and waitresses/waiters have always been great! They also have a rewards program now, which makes me love them even more! They also have a drive thru window, which makes for QUICK service for call in orders. Overall, highly recommend! read more

Last review for the year 2021. Glad it's for Adobe because they are ahmazing! We went twice in 4 days just because my people just won't stop talking about the chimichangas. They are seriously delicious! Their enchiladas(plate 6) were pretty good as well. The complimentary chips were crunchy and warm, the salsa spicy very fresh and addictive. Everything was good. Easily 5 out of 5 stars: I really wish I could give Adobe Cafe an 6. They always go above and beyond in service and quality. This has to easily be the cleanest restaurant in town. They have multiple people diligently scrubbing every inch of every table that has just been vacated. We were wholly impressed with the lengths they went to sanitize every part of the table between parties. I wish every restaurant did this - even without the current issues going on today. I have also never had a mediocre or bad bite of food in this establishment. It is all great. Every server we have had is always super friendly and smiling. This is one of the very few regular places my family will visit. Oddly enough - best Chicken Fried Steak in New Braunfels. All of their food and workers are excellent. We tried to go elsewhere downtown and it was crazy so we had given up, convinced we were stuck with a chain. Drove by headed back to 35 and decided why not. They had 40 min wait because of social distancing but zero at the bar which was where we wanted anyway. Walked right in, sat down to a plug (for my poor dead phone), a purse hook, some chips and salsa and a beer. At that moment I knew this place was a 5 star even before I tried the food. The staff at the bar was so friendly and helpful in helped pick out a margarita to try. Delish salsa and some to go fajitas wrapped it all up. Have had this place book marked for quite sometime and with a trip to the outlet store it was a perfect time...place was jumping, greete Quickly and seated....Chips, salsa arrived promptly...we also ordered a large Queso...everything was tasty, salsa tasted fresh and when added to the Queso it hit the spot..service was great...Larry took great care of us...I did notice other patrons calling him by his first name, so I'm assuming Larry is a regular as well...really nice to see!!...I went with the enchilada verdes..sauce was spot on, corn on top was a first and added texture..very good...chicken was tender..great bite of food..rice fluffy and fresh..Charro's were perfectly cooked and so flavorful!...Wife picked the Chipotle Beef Tips...Sauce was unlike any other she had tried, but sadly the meat was extremely tuff...flavorful...but seriously was almost inedible in its current state...she spent more time cutting the meat into tiny pieces then eating...sad to...is was SO good flavor wise...simply put...this would Not keep us from coming back...she usually stick to her guns and get enchiladas, but wanted to try something different...I'm sure there are plenty of other delicious menu items she would love...we will keep it on the back burner, as it's a bit of a drive from Manor..Over all still a decent visit. read more

Every time that we visit a new Mexican restaurant we vote independently I want to start group based on salsa, chips, food quality, and service. And these unprecedented times we also have to vote on cleanliness, order, and PPE. Our wait was insignificant considering the fact that the tables were appropriately spaced, all of the service staff (from waiters, hostesses, bartenders all the way up through management) were wearing gloves and masks. We gave the salsa a 2.8 out of five. That was our great decision because it was served cold and we all prefer it warm. Also it was not as spicy as it could have been to satisfy our group. We gave the ground beef queso at 5 out of 5. The use of the white cheese really made this dish outstanding. But chips were a 4.5, they were a little thick but they were served warm and fresh! Overall this was a good first try for Mexican food for us in the New Braunfels area and while we would have given it a lower overall count, we are all voting it a 7.0 out of 5 based on the service that we received from Nathan tonight. The young man fulfilled all of our requests, and in this time and day things just don't work the way that they used to but he made it a smooth and effortless looking event. We understand what concept you're trying to implement in your establishment and the respect for other patrons' times. Still, maybe you could put up a nice sign stating something like, "We appreciate having you and would appreciate it if you keep our business and patrons' time in mind. Thank you!" We were sat quickly and our sever was attentive, but I think it stops about there. I thought the food was average for a regular Mexican restaurant that maybe was in Texas. I didn't feel it was authentic, and maybe I was expecting too much. We each got an alcoholic beverage too and felt bother were overpriced for the sized.
