We had a great experience with Chill Heating and Cooling. First off, I had a total of four…read moredifferent companies give me a quote to replace our existing Furnace & A/C units. Chill was the second to arrive and give us an estimate. At first glance when comparing the numbers they gave me to that of the first company, they seemed way off and too cheap to be real. After getting more quotes, Chill remained the lowest price; however, the cost for some of the other companies came in somewhat close. Upon closer review of the contracts, the type of units offered by Chill were much better. A clear difference and made the price look even better! So we signed up and set our appointment up for the next week. We had to move the date since we felt the timing was terrible (expecting 90° weather when the following week was going to be 60°). They moved the appt with ease, even setting it for the following Monday -- on Memorial Day! This was something they offered and I jumped on it, since I was planning to work from home anyway that day. The day of the install went as expected. No issues arose; although, for the guys in the attic I think they would say they had to make some unplanned adjustments -- no complaints to myself or family. All three workers were extremely kind and respectful. They arrived at 9:20 AM and were out before 6:30 PM. Before starting work, they laid down tarps along the hallway (where the entrance to the attic is). They placed all of the old furnace/AC equipment out in front of the house, but cleaned it all up and packed it into their vehicles. They swept up most all of the leftover debris that fell from the attic space and gathered all of their tools. Upon exiting, one of the installers walked me through how to setup the Google Nest Thermostat. He was very patient and waited to ensure the system was fully functional before leaving (used a thermostat gun to read the temperature on one of the vents).

The quoted price for a two-head unit with external pump was in line or lower than the competing bids, backed by an extended multi-year warranty as Mitsubishi Diamond Certified installers. Heat pumps installed alongside existing central air is not an uncommon request, but we had a great conversation with Brook on how we might update to a more modern system in the future, given our original(!) furnace's age. Side questions for him aside, we had a thoughtfully sized system outlined and quoted within a day, and scheduled within two weeks. Our experience with the installation was similarly great, with the team arriving promptly as scheduled and taking the care to put on shoe coverings moving through the house. Everyone was polite and efficient, bringing the plan to life and bringing us in early when there were onsite decisions to be made in our unique spaces. When an issue arose on the cooling not blowing as cold as we had expected, they were quick to assist with troubleshooting, and had it fully remediating within the week. Permits are still pending due to the Oakland backlog, but their lead electrician will also be onsite during the inspection process so I have no worries there. While our immediate need during the heat wave this Spring was cooling our living spaces, I have full confidence that whenever we go to multizone heating and cooling, Spot Free will be our go-to experts!

I received 3 quotes for our HVAC work:…read more- Spot Free: $21K - Vendor we used: $23K - Another vendor who we used before and were happy with but increased their pricing recently: $32K We decided not to go with Spot Free for 2 reasons. First, the heat pump brand was changed in the quote to one that we did not want (Carrier). We were replacing it due to leakage of carbon monoxide. This is obviously a safety concern for us, but also a peace of mind issue. We had discussed using Carrier at the site visit, but I was adamant to avoid it. Second, Brook mentioned that there was a manufacturer's recall on our existing 1-year old Mitsubishi heat pump (we have 2 zones with 2 separate units) and that we should pay him out of pocket to fix it. I was confused, because we received no information regarding a recall and typical costs associated with a recall are not paid by the customer. Furthermore, we hadn't experienced any issues and we're still within the warranty period from the manufacturer and installer. Brook said he had been processing a lot of recalls on units he installed and Mitsubishi was slow to send parts so it's easier to pay him directly for the repair. I contacted the original installer, who we had a very positive experience with initially, and they said there was no recall. I also looked online and couldn't find any information regarding a recall.

I saw the great reviews for AIS and noticed a $58 service call special advertised on Yelp, so I reached out. Making an appointment was incredibly easy. Brenham arrived in just a few hours. He was pleasant to work with and clearly knew his stuff. He quickly diagnosed the issue and fixed it; it turned out to be a disconnected wire, so it was a pretty simple fix. While he was there, he also looked at another issue I was having with my heater short-cycling. It turned out the motherboard needed to be replaced, and he luckily had one with him. The price was on the higher side for a relatively simple swap, but I understand I am paying for his expertise, and since he fixed my AC on the spot, it seemed fair. He offered various other upgrades and maintenance plans, but all of that felt unnecessary for a 34-year-old system that is on borrowed time, so I declined. I would definitely use this company again and was very satisfied with the service.

I called around and AIS came to the rescue. They were able to send a technician, Brenham, out the same day! My window was between noon and 3pm. I got a text from the office at 12:30 that the technician would arrive close to 2:30. Even though that arrival was within the window they had already communicated, they still thoughtfully reached out to give me a more precise time. This was much appreciated as it allowed me to run out and do a couple of errands before the technician arrived. Brenham texted me about 20 min before his arrival saying he was on the way. He arrived right on time and was very respectful and had a nice, easy going demeanor. He got right to work troubleshooting the furnace, explaining to me how he was approaching the task, which I appreciated. I even learned a couple of things about furnaces! The issue ended up being the furnace's mother board and the "universal" board he had was not compatible. I feared this meant he would have to order one and it would be more days without AC. Brenham said he would check his van to see what he had and thankfully had the exact board for my furnace. He replaced the board and the furnace blower turned on! Even though my issues was resolved, he took the extra time to check on my outdoor AC unit and did some diagnostics including checking the refrigerant levels. It was a nice "extra comfort" to know the AC unit checked out fine. I was in a jam and AIS came through for me. Brenham was extremely knowledgeable and did great work. HIGHLY recommend AIS for all your HVAC needs.

I recently faced an issue with the Freon leak in my air conditioner, which left me worried about the cost of repairs. If sealant will not help, then UV help to find a leak, so we no need to replace all system just exactly source of this leak. There is NO QUESTIONS AT ALL as to why Adrium has received many 5-star ratings. Andy is the most knowledgeable and informative individual that serviced our Kenmore refrigerator since we've owned it. It was cooling, but not freezing, and he explained all of the options we had to potentially repair it. We chose to just let it die and replace it with a new unit. He had many recommendations based on his direct experience with servicing different brands and gave honest reasons for those recommendations. We were really impressed with his professionalism and would HIGHLY recommend his services. One last thing.... based on the poor experience we had with Kenmore (actually an LG in a Kenmore Elite case), I will never purchase another Kenmore. Fortunately we had purchased an extended warranty. Service calls made by Sears techs, totaled in excess of the original purchase price, and I have receipts to prove it. read more

I was told that the technician will arrive and fix the water drain issue for $65 but they end up asking for $200 at job site. The technician explained what needs to be done as the Appliance was working fine but did not bother for customer satisfaction cleaning the pipe or demonstrating how to do that. When demanded $200 for the service , we have to deny the service. I believe it should be made clear at the beginning that house visit is $65 and fixing at job site is additional and even if the issue is not fixed $65 will be charged. I believe business cares more about making money than customer satifaction read more

Turns out the water inlet valve needed to be replaced, but wait, after replacement the water still did not flow into the machine. Seems the waterline hoses had to be replaced.
