sheduled service for a report front door battery notification, and the front door does not have a battery. scheduled for appointment on 8/26/2021 between 8 am and 12 pm. technician never showed and i got a call at 1:23 saying the were sorry did not know it was scheduled between 8 am and 12 pm. agreed to reschedule for the same time next day. called to verifiy. since i should have been first on the list (failed day before) . and they said he would be here between 12:30 and 1 pm. I got here at 7:30 am to make sure i did not make them wait. Customer service would not let me talk to manager or supervisor. Said i would get a call back in 24 to 48 hours . You suck. How can it be that the same technician can schedule to be late. Wooooaaahh how I wish I would of looked on yelp before considering this company .I'm usually pretty good at looking at reviews before but this time I didn't because I thought its well known ,always hear it announced what was the need right? Well no ! I received a promotion letter in the mail about a "special offer " they were having it was $27.99 a month of a basic service nothing fancy so i thought why not i had been debating what company to get for my home ,so i made the call and made the appointment. Well on the phone the person who helped me was very friendly and helpful willing to answer questions. The young man informed me that in the state of Nevada they have an extra $7 charge nothing with them it's something Nevada requires so my price would be $34.99 i said okay thats fine why not. Well the tech came out and we purchased $40 in extra accessories and he asked us to load an app that would help us with our new system well he didn't say to use this app (which is free in the app store ) was an additional fee on my monthly bill and my first bill came in $87.99 not including the extra $40 I purchased ,im like woooah what happened to what we agreed on i called and was told i was upgraded (without my permission of course )but the phone rep said ill help lower it she took off one of the fees to end up 77.99 big discount right ? No very disappointed with the service and misleading information! And so i canceled the service they came and removed there equipment and left a HOLE in my wall and i asked the tech what about the hole he said your going to have to call and make a claim and see IF you qualify for it to be fixed that's ridiculous! I have had ADT for many years now but today I had cameras installed. I have always been very pleased with the system and the service but today was over the top. Justin Volpone my rep knew exactly what I wanted and needed and took care of everything! I knew exactly what I was getting, the cost and what to expect before the installer, Troy, even arrived. Troy Rhude was amazing! I'm pretty much up there in years so I am not tech smart. After he installed the cameras he sat with me and totally went through everything and how it works and then even helped me download the ADT Pulse app on my smartphone and how to use it! This is the most unprofessional company I have ever met. The pulse app has been down now for nearly 15 hours and I still have no resolve or a time when it will be ready to be used again. I use it for home automation I'm disabled and I'm left in the dark with no way to access my system. ADT Salespeople have been to my house multiple times - cold-calling, just knocking and ringing the door bell. The first time I answered the door and talked to the salesperson for about 15 minutes but made it clear that I was not ready to purchase anything. He gave me his number and I told him that I would call if interested. He has come to my house three times this week while my kids have been home on Spring Break. He rings the doorbell numerous times and it is making my children uncomfortable. I live in a gated neighborhood and I do not know how he got the gate code but he feels totally entitled to come into this neighborhood and harass us, hoping to push into buying his product. The next time he comes to my door and I am home, I will tell him that if he comes back, I will call the police and have him trespassed. Had ADT installed 9 years ago. Never have had an issue as I never had a burglary or home invasion. BUT just recently had a home invasion. We pushed the panic button and nothing happened. After police were here I called ADT to find out why panic button didn't work and glass breakage didn't work. So for nine years I have been paying for this and they were never connected. The service guy said they were never connected. So I have been asking for compensation because for the last nine years I have had no service?????? As I had a home invasion and it was very scary. When you think you are protected but you are not. ADT keeps telling me they are sending this to headquarters. Headquarters never calls. This has been going on for well over three weeks now leading paying customers to a false security. Beware of these services. They only care about collecting their money and not fixing the problems. I have sent several messages regarding my account and spoken to a customer agent who has been no help. If necessary, I am a disappointed customer and will take my complaint to higher means. My system malfunctioned, and nobody ever got back to me when I sent the message regarding this problem. On October 17, 2022, I stepped out of my house to take out the trash, not knowing that the door was going to lock itself behind me. I had to wait on the phone for two hours for the customer agent to tell me that I had to call a locksmith because "somehow" my account wasn't connected to their system. Now 500 dollars later and upset over this whole issue that nobody appears to care about. I'm supposed to stay active with my contract because I still have 23 months left. On top of that, I have to pay a fee to have a technician fix the system's problem. This is an outrage and horrible customer service where people kept throwing the ball around because customer satisfaction is not essential. I signed up with ADT in January 2021 -The Company Defender was sent-ADT has since taken over this Company I am told. The Installer was new and not very knowledgeable. He installed 2 cameras that did not work properly for 5 months. He also installed other Security items as well. His instructions on how to use the system were not very good, basic instructions were given. I received no manual on how to operate the system but we got by. I was promised a $100.00 gift Card which I never received to this day. I made numerous calls and left e-mails with salesman . I did get one salesman who visited my Home and he did get a Serviceman out to repair the Cameras and get them to work properly but that took 5 months. Both me and my wife asked for a Manuel and the $100.00 Gift Card and compensation for the 5 months the cameras that we were paying for that did not work properly. To this day I am still waiting for these minor issue answers to at least be answered. I have spoken to a few ADT Staff Members since and I think I scared them away when I asked for the $100.00 Gift card I was owed and Compensation for the Cameras that did not work for 5 months that I was paying for. I was told they would send a Manuel but I never received one. I believe and this is just my opinion that ADT Customer Service is not very good when you have to wait almost 11 months to get answers on very minor issues- what would happen on serious issues. read more

ADT Security Services does not deserve one star. They have been the worse security company I had to deal with. From day one, the equipment installed always had issues. Door bell camera constantly failed. A few of the sensors were installed incorrectly. No one in that company READS the notes. When Covid hit, I don't think they had a protocol to screen their techs before sending them out. I found out a week later, when the manager called me stating the tech that was out to my house had covid. Wow! I cancelled their service as soon as my contract was up. They keep calling me asking the same questions, what was my reason for cancelling. "Again," no one reads the previous notes written by the last customer service I spoke with. If things couldn't get any worse, I get phone calls from ADT, because it comes up on my caller ID, once I answer, they hang up. This has happened a few times, so it's not a coincidence, or problems with the phone. I never write reviews, but this company is very unprofessional and I feel harassed. 1000% agree with other posts their billing is the worst, it has taken 4 phone calls and still not resolved Oh and worse yet they think because they bill in advance you have pay for service you do NOT receive. In other words if you call to cancel and they talk you into a lower rate, if you do that before you billing cycle ends, just because they have already issued you an invoice over a month before the service date, the cancellation or new rate doesn't take effect until over 30 days. Example they issue an invoice dated 6/13/19 for the billing period 7/13/19-8/12/19 (over 30 days in advance), if you call on 7/8 to cancel or change your plan you are still charged for 7/13-8/12. I don't know any other business that allows you to charge 60 days in advance and not provide service and still get paid. Total RIP off!!! An then taking 4 phones calls to get it straight, after having prepaid and been a loyal customer for over 3 years. They apparently think their time and service is far more valuable than my time and aggravation. Be ware doing business with this company! read more

My contract says I was supposed to have a ADT door bell camera installed. When the tech came, he said the Ring door bell was better. So, for the past month, I was pleased. Keep in mind I was paying $31.00 a month for my old alarm system. I am now paying $67.00 a month. SO today I had 9 - YES 9,notifications there was someone at the front door, so I open the Ring app, and it says I need to pay to see this. Seriously WTF!! I already pay over double, I have spent 36 min on the phone as I am typing this. Total bullshit. Should have NEVER gone with them. I signed a two year contract with ADT in Feb 2017. During the contract term, my remote fell apart, and they charged me for a new one. Further, during this period of time, the system malfunctioned and it was necessary to send a tech to make repairs. They also billed me for this service, but I argued that it was their equipment and I should not have to pay for it.. The charge was reversed and I immediately received a letter indicating that I now "own the system". After my contract expired, I continued the service and continued to pay the monthly fee. I contracted with a new company mid-May 2021 and cancelled ADT. My account was paid thru the end of May. They billed me a prorated charge for June which I refused to pay. Today, August 17, I received a call from a collection agency that I had to pay the $35 to ADT. Their practices regarding billing are questionable, and I certainly would never recommend this company to anyone needing a home alarm. But if you need to talk to customer service, they all seem to be ignorant and inarticulate, and curt to downright rude to boot. I had ADT for about a year and a half. I cancelled it because I moved. I, after much conversation, agreed to have it installed at my new address. The installation was to take place on August 29th. I began getting collection calls from the company, saying I owed $672.09 because I disconnected before the 36 month of my contract were up. This occurred despite the fact that I was going to have it at my new address and had been told that I wouldn't have to pay this because it would be considered a transfer of services. They also tried to charge me for services at my old address despite the fact that the system was no longer active. At no time was I able to get anything in writing. Get HARD COPIES, they run a Bait and Switch Operation, they told us 2 years, yet never gave us a copy of the Contract, When we tried to Cancel after 2 years, they told us it was a 3 year contract. The Sales Person Doesn't work there anymore. You are much better off buying your own monitoring system at Costco. FYI if something happens to set off alarm they call you, they don't respond if they do it's a pretty hefty Charge. If you had your own system you would get notified quicker. ADT signed me to a two-year contract then sold it to Defender. Defender is worthless. After my CC was hacked (since it is only used for this service, I'm pretty confident that an employee of either ADT or Defender stole my CC), I updated the account immediately after receiving my new card. That was in early August (around the 5th). My billing is on the 15th, so there should not have been a problem. It is now September and Defender still hasn't updated my account. I updated with ADT and now twice with Defender. If you sign with Defender (even as ADT) after reading this, you'll want to punch yourself in the face after a month or two when you remember reading this review. read more

OMGEEE. The experience that I am having right now is so ridiculous. Words cannot even describe how disappointed I am with the way I have been treated. I have literally been violated and disrespected. A year ago I moved to LV from California. Never had an alarm system, but was told by neighbors that the home I was renting had been broken into twice while the people were home. My parents recommended ADT for they used them for years, not sure why?? In any event, I called ADT and was advised that due to my HOA having their own private security I had to have my installation done by Defenders their authorized retail partner. I was assured I was working with ADT, but trust me folks, DO NOT BE FOOLED. This is a set up if I ever heard of one. Nine months from the installation it turned out that I needed to move. The owner of my home was needing to move family in. So I moved. I called ADT and that's when the circus began. I CANNOT even believe the nonsense I was told. One associate called me a liar, STRAIGHT UP! In any event I was told that I had to go through Defenders for the relocation JOKE !!!! This guy pulls my credit without asking for my permission. He's there, oh, your credit score dropped, so we actually cannot relocate you? WHAT? So let me understand you correctly...if I had not moved you would have continued taking my money and not not care about what type of credit I had and we would have been okay moving forward until I paid my contract out? I was referred to the corporate office of ADT in Boca Raton where things get even more comical. I am working with this girl who is and is supposedly a customer advocate,not really. She starts investigating the situation, and we start working with a man named at Defenders who is supposedly at her level over there. This fool initially tells me that there is no record of my call to them and nobody pulled my credit. So in essence BYE! WTH? So I pulled my Credit Karma and sure as anything, DEFENDERS!! That's when he started back pedaling. He says he found some hidden notes on this and yep, the guy pulled my credit. They told me to go back to that house and take down the equipment myself, because they aren't doing business with me until my credit score came up. JOKERS!! So now defenders & ADT came to some agreement that Defenders is going to release my contract and she sends out this guy named who is some Sales Manager in LV to my home. He's in my home for over an hour and telling me all that he is going to do to fix this. Literal WASTE of my valuable time. Then I get to experience HORRIBLE Customer Service at it's finest! I will call you back tonight, I promise. Guess what never happened? We did this song and dance about 5 times. Finally tonight he calls me to tell me that his manager who is some type of Regional Manager says there is nothing they can do for me. So looks like she's just going to have to take THE LOSS and pay Defenders an early termination fee of $1,700 - Yep all because she moved!!! I don't know about you all on here, but if this sounds like something you'd like to entertain, have at it. If not stay away from these creeps! They are cheaters and liars. Cheating people out of their hard earned money!! Gonna have me pay for a system I don't even have. I didn't break the contract, you did. I didn't sign any disclosures that stated that if at any time during our relationship if your credit score drops that you will find yourself screwed!! I was with Protection One which was apparently sold to ADT. Having using the service for some 13 years today at work I received a call that my bedroom window was breached. Naturally I got in my car and raced home, it took me thirty minutes. I called ADT two times on the way home to see if someone had arrived yet. I was there another 10 minutes when the 'security monitor' showed up. I asked "are you just getting here?" His response was "it's not my fault" I replied "what the F... good are you,leave" I called ADT to voice my concern and they said they have to have this monitoring company come first and then they contact the police.
