Hands down worst company and especially service! The rep even told me there service sucks lol. Wow!

This was one of the worst experiences I have had with a company. I signed up for ADT because it offered free equipment with a $99 installation fee. They also said they would give you a $100 pre-paid Visa once the system was installed. Yes, after you purchase a $5 money order and send it in with the form they provide you. I believe that is a $95 Visa. The installer was a good guy came out and did a great job. Then he hands me a bill for $64.89 telling me this was for the additional equipment I needed. I told him I was surprised because I understood the equipment would be free but decided to pay it anyway. Then in the middle of the night I hear my phone ding. It was a charge for the first month plus the second month retroactively. I was so mad and shocked that I called ADT and told them to come and take my system out. I did not want to work with a company that was not ethical. It was bad enough that I was charged for additional equipment but to debit my account for 2 months service was not OK. (it did say on the contract I signed that they would charge me for the 2 months, my bad) I felt like the technician should have said something at the time though. So to top it off I was told I would get my money back within 10 days. Of course 10 days passed and no money. I call they have it but it hasn't been approved now it will take another 7-10 days to process. I think it's interesting how they can debit my account immediately but it takes the 7-10 plus 10 days to get my money back to me. Bad, bad experience. read more

The worse company ever! ADT does not care if your alarm goes off. They do not belong in this type of business. When your alarm goes off, they call you once then do not contact your afterwards then charge you a fee. They also have the worse customer service. The representatives have the worse attitude and sound miserable over the phone. read more

Ive lived at my new home for over a year and recently the old ADT equipment started going off at random times through out the day and night. I called to ask what to do and the technicians said they would walk me through disarming the whole system. I was to find a transformer and cut wires red and black or whatever. I could never find it. They were too smart saying that I should know what CHIME BAT means and that means low battery. Seriously, I have a masters degree and I do not make assumptions about the meaning of something so basically was unsure. They would not send anyone to help because my service was cancelled. Now a business savy person would say...let me send someone out. This could be their opportunity to get my business. I actually wanted it turned on but after they were so petty about helping me and acting like I should be an alarm specialist I will go elsewhere. read more

I just got ADT and had Scott Lechuga as my rep. Honestly... hands down the BEST customer service ever!! He was so knowledge and gave us exactly what we were looking for. Billing issues, defensive customer service rep. Been double billed past couple months. Rep stated they don't know why then got defensive when I expressed concern about security of billing system. Not ok, especially for a security firm! Have been customer since early 1990s. This is extremely surprising. Seriously considering changing providers. I purchased a home (April 2016) that had a very sophisticated ADT system with all the bells & whistles (pun intended). The prior owner had installed it in Jan 2015 and signed the standard 3yr agreement. He probably paid a huge penalty when he moved. All I wanted to do was sign up for monitoring of my ADT system on a month-to-month basis with no extended agreement. ADT initially said I couldn't do that. Then, after I told the sales guy that I was going to install a Simply Safe system, he suddenly was able to waive the extended agreement. But when the installer showed up, I suddenly needed $250 worth of equipment (for a 14mo-old system that had been working just fine for the prior owner). I sent the ADT installer on his way and ordered a Simply Safe system. read more

Called for home installation quote. The person kept asking me personel question over and over again. She was collecting information about me. This company could be collecting information they should not have. Called the 800 number (800) 819-1950. After she asked for my DOB. I said I was no longer interested. Then some guy kept calling me from (443) 845-4758. Really annoying ! I think they might be scammers......no mr ADT, your going to put me on your do not call list....how about deleting all my information instead ? read more

Worse company to ever do business with, just got a call from a collection company saying I owed ADT money, like I DONT THINK SO! I closed my account on 4/29/20, and my contact ended on 4/4/20. They gave me a confirmation number that my account was closed. Then on 5/5/20 they charged my credit card, but wait it gets better because I went on to my account and had taken my credit card information off of the site on 4/28/20, so I disputed the 5/5/20 charge on my credit card bill and they took care of it.. Such a violation to charge a credit card that is no longer associated with an account! Then it get better on 5/21/20 they gave me a refund for $5.94 because my account showed a credit balance. So how do you give a refund to someone when they owe you money! Probably, because they DONT OWE you money! Now it's 6 months later and they have turned me into collections. It all bull???t! Beware and do not trust ADT with your financial information of any kind (sad that you trust your home in their hand because of a contract that you they will not let you off hook!). As I was paying them on line, they helped themselves to charge my credit card which was supposed to be "on file only" too. When I stopped that and asked for my money back, they turned me in to a collection agency. When I contacted them, they apologized, I paid the balance using my check book on the phone and I was out of collection. Now that they have my checking account information, they are charging my bank account without authorization!!! Short of taking them to the courts, what are my options? I don't TRUST them to have access to my home! read more

Horrible service...look for another company. I had an appointment to have service on alarm system for third time in six months. Made arrangements to meet tech at house.. was not living on premises so had to drive to location. They give you a 5 hour window. Tech knew I was driving 20 minutes to get there. He never showed. I called him 3 times he ignored my calls. When I called ADT service...he had closed the call 5 minutes after I got there. He never showed n was very rude on phone. I asked to speak to a supervisor, he never called me. This behavior is obviously representative of their leadership. They are expensive for what you get and not worth the frustration. .. go elsewhere! read more

I can not reccomend ADT Security services as I had them install a security system with cameras in my home about 1 year ago. I was paying $55.99 per month The system rarely worked. I had them send technicians out 3 or 4 times during the year and the system still broke down going offline and not recording. I waited for hours each time for them to show up, it worked for awhile then stopped. I was forced to cancel the service and they are asking me for $1,075.00 to end the contract. I can not see how anyone will be happy using this service. read more

I have adt service at my work and it has always worked great . Nicholas Harrison is our representative after talking to him about service for my home he was so informative about every little detail . The best part was he did not make me feel like he just wanted a paycheck . He genuinely cared about me and what I was going to invest in . Absolutely a waste of money. While away from home my alarm was activated and I was called by ADT. After speaking with a representative I informed them that I needed assistance to go to the house. Since I live in Las Vegas they cannot send police to alarm activation without first investigating it. This would be fine, however they did not respond for 5 hours. What good would help do me 5 hours later... after calling in to complain about the service I'm paying for but not recieving they offered one month free of charge. Yet I'm still stuck in a 3 year contract of service that I am not getting. Save yourself the money and buy an OTC surveillance system that offers more features and no contract. read more

This place merge with another company and increased our bill by $3 a month. The doorbell went out now they want to charge me $55 to come out and look at look at the goddamn door bell. On Tuesday I had an error message that my system was having an issue with the Radio transmitter. We reset the system. Wednesday the error was back and this time I was told there was a cell tower outage and it would be fix at 2am Thursday 5/11, When I woke up the error was still there. Again ADT had me power cycle the system and test it. They were NOT getting any signal. The first appointment they had affer 4pm when I got home was Tuesday May 16th. This means my system will not be monitoring my house for 6 days. I can still arm it and they alarm will go off they just won't receive any alerts. I think 6 days is too long to wait to get someone out to look at a system I pay for every month. UPDATE: Received a phone call today (5/11/17) from ADT and they were able to get a repair man out to my house on Saturday between noon and 5pm. read more

Got a response from corporate people, they immediately set up an appointment to remedy the situation, a sure sign of a very good company, of providing the right service for their client. Gene Higginbotham and Tony Amato came in 15 minutes before the scheduled appointment and immediately went to work to correct the discrepancies from the previous work done, 2 very professional people of the highest caliber who takes pride in their work and the very essence of customer satisfaction creed...thank you very much Tony and Gene(ADT corporate leaders are you listening?????this are the kind of people to keep) I will therefore delete my one star rating just to be fair. Absolutely horrible and incompetent staff. I sold my house and cancelled service 4-2016, I still have not been credited my proration and following quarterly charge. These idiots at ADT continue, to this day, to bill me "past due" along with collection agency threats. I have made easily a dozen phone calls and they still cannot stop the billing. read more

I have had these worthless people for 4 years. They are horrible. The cameras go out every week and they expect us to fix them!!!!! Their customer service is questionable. Was contacted by corporate and they took care of my problem. The rep that came out to enable to panel to work with the door locks was really nice. He also adjusted the camera so it was out of hand's reach. So far, I'm a fan again! Just wished that I didn't have to be contacted by corporate to resolve this matter! read more

ADT is horrible to do business with. Called them to cancel their service 3 times and I was on hold forever. Finally got some one the third time to cancel the service because I sold my house. They told me it would take a month to turn off the system. It only takes an hour to turn it on when you sign up but takes 30 days when you are no longer living in the house to cancel the service. What a scam. Just trying to screw you out of another month. How stupid can you be. They get one month extra but loose a customer for life.I could list other issues but why bother. There are many good security companies in town that don't scam their customers, and offer better service at lower prices. I will pick one of them and never do business with these con men again. read more

Please shop around and choose anyone except ADT. I was not given accurate information on pricing and the monthly payment was double. I normally do not like to write terrible reviews since I am in the customer service industry as well. After multiple calls trying to find an answer, and trying to talk with Chris Culberson, the sales manager, I decided to write a review so other consumers may be warned. I like the system, the installer was excellent. the sales rep was extremely nice, but obviously was on a mission to do whatever he had to in order to get my business. I was taken advantage of and realize now, the sales tactics are nothing more than a scam. I could go on and on. I am angry at myself for falling for this kind of service. A salesman came out to my house last Saturday, ignored my no soliciting sign, and yelled at me for having an ADT sign in my yard, when my service wasn't hooked up. Yes, he was literally screaming at me. I had to kick him off of my property. When my husband came home, he asked where the sign was. The guy took it. ADT sent a private sub contractor to install cameras. The service tech was from Brantley. Nick, the service tech was systematic and thorough. Upon completing the installation on an older home, he was patient and kind. He showed both me and my husband the Pulse App on our IPhones, to secure our home at any time. These people ought to be prosicuted for fraud. They sold my husband who had been diagnosed with schizophrenia an alarm system. He was parinoid and when the alarm continuiously malfunctioned over several months, I asked for a refund and was refused. They charged me the full amount of the contract 800.00 in order to get out of the associating with them. The alarm system went off several times and no one ever came to our home or called to check that we were all right. The system often went off for only a second but continued that through days and nights at a time. Imagine trying to sleep. Until they could "schedule" someone to come out to fix it. They are dishonest, annoying, fraudulant, uncooperative and completely unfrofessional. I agree with another reviewer that if I could give zero or even minus stars I would. read more

Be careful!! I had them for my office and when we moved I had to sign another 3 year contract. I did not want to but there was no option. Now after 2 years we are moving and after 4 years with ADT I have to pay a 425.00 penalty for not fulfilling the second 3 year contract. ERGH!!!! Go somewhere else. read more

Tried 3 times to get ADT tech to come on a Saturday with no success so stopped the monitoring due to inability to get system repaired and to save some money. For 3 months we just had the system alarmed with no monitoring. AGAIN, the system stopped working and said to call ADT. I called today and they said there was nothing that they could do to help and because we were no longer being monitored by ADT they would NOT send a tech. I said that means we have to go with another security monitoring company and they said YES. DO NOT USE ADT. If you work you can not get a tech on the weekend. I was willing to resume monitoring and they said yes to contact another company. read more

My alarm went off while I was on vacation and I did not have phone service so they called my aunt. It was the middle of the night and she didn't hear the first call so they sent their patrol car out to my house. The person they sent again called my aunt who this time woke up and he told her that everything was fine at my house. He claimed I didn't have a doorbell, there were dogs barking in the Back, and everything looked secure. Imagine the shock my aunt had when she showed up at my house the next morning to feed the cat and found the door wide open, the alarm ripped off the wall, and my place trashed. All ADT would say is that the alarm worked just as it was supposed to. They later called and offered me three days of extensive car patrol in my neighborhood. I said what good is that now? They again told me that the alarm worked as it supposed to but I say the alarm is only as good as the people they sent to back it up! They claim they reprimanded their worker but I'm still out the cost to fix the door, a TV, a computer, a printer, and a now broken bedroom set! I would look elsewhere for your security purposes. read more
