One man operation s just be patient. He's no Best Buy but the has its Pros and very few Cons. Pro: you are a person not a job ticket being shuffled through the system. He gave100% to fix my TV. My three year old Vizio 70 Inch TV all of a sudden lost all power. I've never had a TV just die on me before, and I was especially surprised since it was only three years old. It's the holiday season so I really didn't want to have to spend money on purchasing another TV. I called up Bill from Advance TV Repair and asked if he could possibly do a house call (since the tv is not convenient to bring to him). He stated he would gladly come and and take a look (this service is a small fee of $40). He also was able to accommodate my working schedule by coming later in the evening (8pm). When Bill arrived we got the TV down from the wall mount and he thebegun testing the TV. After a short period of time he determined he had found the issue. Unfortunately it could not be fixed on site, so he dislodged the circuit board and brought it back to his shop. The very next day he fix the board and came back to my place. To my delight the TV powered back on! We put the TV back on the wall and began to plug everything back into the back of the TV. I had an issue remembering my input setup and I advised Bill he could leave but he insisted he stay until everything was working. The total service cost me $305 ($265 for the fix and $40 for the onsite service). If you bring your TV to him you can save yourself the $40 fee. Regardless $305 was a deal compared to buying a whole new TV. THANKS BILL!!!!! read more

Before i could even explain my problem with my Tv he replied "i can not help you" & began to mumble, i asked him to repeat himself & he yelled I CAN NOT HELP YOU & hung up. My Samsung TV started turning itself on and off after less than five years of use. I was determined not to throw away a couple of thousand dollars of electronics so soon. I found Advanced TV Repair on Yelp. This shop seems to be a small one man operation. Its website is pretty bare bones. When I called, Bill said he could be over within an hour. Hmm. Either I got lucky or he's not very busy. But I was glad for the quick service call. I was at work due to the quick service so my wife met him. She was not terribly impressed with his old service van. Bill quickly determined he couldn't fix the TV at my house and needed to take the TV to his shop. My wife said he carted the TV out with a dolly without wrapping the TV in a blanket or any kind of protection. Bill said it would be done in a week and quoted me a price. A week went by and I called him to see how the repair was coming along. He said it would be ready the following day. The next day he brought the TV back, again without any kind of protective covering. My wife noticed right away a couple of small scratches on the screen. They weren't deep and could not be felt by touch. Luckily you can't see them when the TV is on. Bill also didn't replace the original screws on the back of the TV when he took the panel off to get to the inside for the repair. Also he left the TV screen covered with fingerprints and didn't clean them off when he brought the TV back. However it's been a month now and the TV works great and that's all that really matters, isn't it. I swear the picture looks better than before. I got an LCD screen cleaner and the screen looks like new. I also paid the price he quoted, which saved me a few thousand dollars instead of buying a new TV. So Bill knows what he's doing when it comes to TV repair. However if you're put off by tiny local business operations you can take your chances with bigger outfits like the Geek Squad. But Advanced TV Repair got my job done at a reasonable price. read more

Bill is a nice guy...but I would not recommend him for repair service. I dropped off my television set on Tuesday, January 26, and he couldn't remember if he repaired the tv or not. He is a very nice guy. However, I don't think that he should be repairing televisions anymore. I am on my way to pick up my television set now. It was not repaired. He said that he couldn't find a circuit to replace the damaged one. I went online myself and found one for $60 bucks. I think that age is playing a role here. He probably was good at one point but not anymore. I went to him based on the comments provided in Yelp. I hope this saves another person from having the same experience I just endured. read more

I bought a Vizio TV from Costco and it turned out to be a piece of junk. The display had two black, horizontal lines through the whole screen after only 3 years of use. Thankfully, I purchased the TV using Costco's Visa, which gives you two additional years of warranty on top of the manufacturer's warranty. I had to provide an estimate for the repair with some pictures as well as the proof of purchase. I called Advanced TV Repair and spoke with William. He told me that the TV was not repairable and that he would create an estimate for me for $45.00. I emailed him the Model and Serial numbers along with some pictures and the estimate was ready within a day. Very quick and efficient. I was dreading having to bring this clunker down to the shop and Bill took care of everything in a quick and very efficient way. Thank you so much for your help! 3 stars. Needed a fix for my TV. They are "authorized repair" for several big brands. It was easy to book a service call. The job was done well, but he was running later than the promised window of time and did not call to let me know, so plans had to be altered on my end. A "heads-up" courtesy call would have been a nice, professional, business practice. Verdict: try to get a confirmation on the time and you should be ok. read more

Bill knows his stuff, AND he is a nice guy. I actually took a musical instrument (keyboard) to him to repair because it was only coming on with batteries. Bill troubleshooted the issue by asking the right questions, opening the unit and testing whether any eletricity was getting to the unit, and by looking at the actual power adapter. He nailed it. LG 50 inch flat screen had an electrical problem. Over time, I would turn on the TV and it would would make a popping sound then shut off. This got progressively worse until it would not turn on. I purchased this TV for over $2,500 when new and could buy a new one for $700. I thought a repair would be at least the new TV price.
