This places never fails to dissapoint me - Great South Indian food. I went there for brunch and needless to say, A2B has never failed to make me happy and content. This location is quiet big and unlike other Indian joints very clean and beautifully decorated ! We were promptly seated and their service was fast & quick.. Though sometimes the staff kept checking too often. Their ghee roast, Mysore masala dosa, medu vada and mini tiffin is a must-try with all the 3 chutneys. We also ordered couple of other dishes and their filter coffee ! Everything was perfect in taste . I havn't tried their curries or North Indian dishes coz I would like to stick to what they specialize in ! Prices are reasonable and definitely you cannot go wrong with this food. The food here is excellent! I came here with my family (a party of 7) and we all had a wonderful experience. (Because there were so many people who ordered so many things, this is a long review, but TL;DR - everything was really good and I highly recommend this restaurant). I arrived early, but was promptly seated when the rest of my family arrived. The servers were patient and friendly, expertly keeping up with those family members who couldn't make up their mind and changed their order 2 or 3 times. They also patiently answered all of the questions I had about the different food items that I hadn't heard of before. I tried their North Indain, South Indian and Indo-Chinese dishes and enjoyedeverything! The cauliflower 65 was deep fried and crispy. It was a little spicy, but this is normal for a franchise from India (that's why people come to eat here - because it's made how it's made in India). It was crispy and came with ketchup. We also ordered the chili paneer as an appetizer, and they really do put the chili in the paneer (the kind that you don't taste at first but creeps up on you). While the spice level was a bit high for me, even the chili paneer tasted really good before the spice started kicking in. If not for the spice level, I'd have eaten the whole dish myself. My family also really enjoyed it. For the South Indian appetizers, we ordered the Mendu Vada and Idli. The Mendu vada were the perfect level of spice. They were pillow soft on the inside and lightly crispy on the outside. They were served with 3 different chutneys (tomato, coconut and gunpowder), as well as Sambhar. The idli were also the best I've had in the US. They were slightly larger than average, and were pillow soft. It was like I was eating a cloud. The idli also came with the same 3 chutneys as the Sambhar. Each family member ordered their own entrees, but we each tried each other's food.The Naan was super soft and had just the right amount of butter to add flavor without being greasy. The paneer butter masala was creamy and fragrant with soft, fresh cubes of paneer. The sada dosa and mysore dosa were fresh, light and crispy, and the mysore dosa was perfectly seasoned. The dosa also came with the three sauces and Sambhar. I didn't try the Uttapam, but my dad really enjoyed it. He ordered the regular veg uttapam. He said it twas soft and cooked perfectly through. The Rava Khichdi was also very good. The consistency was soft but not soggy. For a low-calorie dish, it was enough to be filling, and was spiced to perfection. My entree was the Veechu Paratha, which was like a large roti canai. It was served with vegetable korma and raita. The Korma was good, and went perfectly with the slightly sweet paratha. The paratha itself was crispy where it needed to be and soft around the edges. The raita had raw onions, which I'm not a fan of, but my mom really enjoyed it. Dessert was also really good. My parents and uncle ordered the Madras Coffee, which came in a traditional metal cup inside of a metal bowl to catch the spillover, and a metal spoon to stir in the sugar. The coffee is brewed in milk, but you can add your own sugar. It tastes exactly like the milky coffee available in India. I ordered the Rasmalai for dessert. The paneer "malai" was soft and spongy, and the liquid "ras" was sweet and nutty. I enjoyed every last drop of it. My only complaint is that while they do have rose milk on the menu, they do not have Falooda. I wonder if that's because Falooda is not as popular in South India (where the franchise originated) as it is in Northern India. I trekked all the way from Manhattan to meet my NJ family here, and I can attest with confidence that the food here was worth the journey. read more

I usually don't write reviews but I do want to write for this place, we have been to so many NY and NJ Michelin and/or famous restaurants but never had a problem with attitude we got here from a manager. at this place, manager was so rude, it's beyond our imagination. Why the hell you hired people and make them to be a face if they don't know how to talk to clients and understand the situation. we left and went to another restaurant. Yum! Finally made it to A2B after having it recommended multiple times. The interior is nicely decorated with a waterfall fixture and with a separate snack shop inside. We were seated right away and our server was awesome when it came to menu knowledge and friendliness. The menu here is extensive -- several pages of South Indian specialties, curries, dosas, northern Indian dishes, etc. For our group of 3, we went with two appetizers (lentil donuts and potato dosa) and 2 entrees (thali and mattar paneer), and still ended up with leftovers. The food came out incredibly fast, was warm, and full of flavor. The dosa was especially flavorful, and the sambar that accompanied several of the dishes was great and tangy. The Thali was a great way to try some of A2B's most popular items. We are meat eaters and did not feel like we were missing a thing at this all-vegetarian spot. I do wish there had been a lunch buffet to be able to try multiple offerings, but the food overall was great....Reasonably priced too. Glad to have found A2B! read more

Had a great vegetarian South Indian lunch here. Besides the delicious food and fresh fruit drinks, I appreciated that the restaurant is modern, spacious, and very clean. The staff are all wearing gloves and masks, and the bathrooms are sparkling. Highly recommend: 1. The mysore rava dosa - with masala (spiced mashed potatoes). Comes with three different sauces (eggplant, tomato, coconut) and sambar (lentil stew). The onion rava dosa is also a good option but the mysore has more of a spicy kick to it - the onion comes raw and chopped within the dosa layers. 2. Decided to come to A2B for some aunthetic south indian food. We were pleasantly surprised by the ambiance, it was one of the nicer indian restaurants we've been to. The restaurant was sparkling clean, with sufficient social distancing. Staff was friendly and professional. We asked to sit in the sunny side of the restaurant, which was pretty. We ordered Medu Vada, Ghee Pongal, Mysore Rava masala with onions (was customized per request) and watermelon juice. The food was fresh, perfectly spiced and delicious. Watermelon juice was freshly made and was very refreshing to have on a warm day. Overall very pleasant experience, will definitely be back when we are in the area. read more

They have clearly changed their chefs, because they bring them from India on Visa so they keep changing them from their restaurants in India. The lilac is completely different now with loads of dalda oil and they seem to be making parottas with used oil now. So horrible that I had to throw it away. So good! Nice variety on the menu and you can customize your dosa if you want. It does get packed on weekends but absolutely worth the wait. A bit pricey for dosa but it's the best around and a nice treat! They have snacks/appetizers and full Thalis as well which have generous portion sizes. They have some good desert options including chai and kulfi. Also worth mention this place is clean and organized. Came here two times for lunch. The first time I can with was in love. Had the poori masala, paneer 65, and rava dosa. The poori was so good with the sides it came with, gotta get the name of that. I was dunking everything in it. Then my second favorite was the masala rava dosa. It was very crispy on the top and the sambar is delicious. Very mild which I can appreciate bc I am sensitive to spice. The bottom of the dosa got very oily and soggy :/. Service was good they were very fast but we arrived at the beginning of lunch hour. Second time came and got the poori masala again and I thought i ordered the same dosa from last time but I think I picked the wrong one because I got the potatoes in the middle. Didn't care for the potato's I just wanted the dosa with the sambar. This one was very crispy though, no oil on the bottom. This time it was around 1 so a bit later into lunch hour and service was slow. I mean we were sat in a corner far away from other guests so to get the waiter was hard. Had to ask the people who were clearing plates for stuff. Both times I came I got the group to order the same two desserts. The rasamalai and the pineapple rava kesari (spelling might be way off). I love love love this place. I am very disappointed that I tried this place after so many years of living in NJ but I am glad that I have found the best dosa place ever! Dosa in the states was never up to the mark as India, so my taste buds got adjusted to that not so good taste of dosa which we get in all these NYC restaurants. However this place is ammaaaazing! They have the best best dosa even I must say better than some places in India. Along with the food; the ambience is really good, the place is clean, the service is quick and the waiters are friendly. Asking too much for an Indian place in NJ? Yes but this place has it all. It gets really crowded for dinner so make sure you have a reservation or you reach there early enough to get yourself a table. We were a party of 4 and were seated right away as we got there by 7:30z All of us were super hungry and probably ended up ordering so many items, but not regretting as it was delicious. For appetizers we ordered paneer chili fries, cauliflower 65 and Appam. The appam was very soft and spongy and fresh, paneer chili was on point and cauliflower 65 was good too. For entrees we ordered Mysore rava masala dosa which was very flavorful and different, Mysore masala dosa which was good, kadai paneer which was so delicious that we ordered another one for takeout for the next day and mushroom chettinad. Usually I am not a fan of mushrooms but I loved the mushroom curry here. Also we ordered malabar parotha to go with the curries. The parathas were freshly made and were hot from the kitchen. First time here. Amazing variety. Went for lunch. At first thought I considered it expensive for lunch, for what in many cases is indian street food. I now suspect a bit of our poor ordering, as many of the items I am not that familiar with. We worked to keep lunch down to $25+ a person for lunch?! I was really looking forward to this. Main items you don't find other places. The online menu is tough when there are 200 things on the menu....and you are new to many of the names, though the pictures are nice. Heck I would be confused at a Jersey Diner with 200 items looking on my phone. The place was modern and nice inside. The services wasn't the best, but fine...waited about 15+ minutes at least 5 minutes after we all stopped looking at our phones to order. I enjoyed my thali a spectrum of flavor...though only 1 pappadam, one dosa like bread and 9 small tasters items....at $19.00, remember no meat or fish? We got an order of paneer $15(would have gotten for app, but keeping cost down), and a rush lunch $16. Ordered a naan for sauces at $4.50 and 1 mango lasse $7...yup trying to keep lunch for 25 a person. We ended up with some small take home as the dishes were big enough. I am still learning this food and will go again as I love many of the flavors. Hopefully I can better arrange our ordering, maybe go for dinner where ordering a bunch of $15 Plates doesn't seem as out of place. read more

A2B Vegetarian Indian Restaurant was recommended to me by two lovely Summit Medical Group lab technicians a couple of weeks ago and I was yearning to checkout this place. Went on a Thursday night, restaurant was 2/3 full, were seated quickly. Pulled up their phone extensive menu via QR code, waiter was extremely helpful in selecting several dishes which we shared. The restaurant was filled with Indian families and couples which in my opinion is always a positive sign for having authentic cuisine. The people who recommended the restaurant also indicated the restaurant gets very busy on weekends, so expect a wait. read more

Comfortable place, tastefully decorated. Music was a little loud for easy conversation. The service was excellent. Enormous range of vegetarian and vegan selections. I had the Vegetable Jalfrezi. I asked for it "extremely spicy". The waiter didn't believe me and asked me twice if I was sure. Twice I said yes. It was only moderately hot. That was a little disappointing. The dish was very tasty nonetheless and I did enjoy the meal over all. The naan was very good. My dining companion and I shared an order of plain and an order of garlic and no complaints with either. I really want to give this 3.5 stars more so than 3 but I can't. Just as an FYI - this place can get busy despite how big it is. We came here two times without a reservation on a weekend and it was so crowded that it was about 1 hour wait each time. We came a third time when it wasn't so busy that we got seated right away. First - it is a really large menu, so there I'm sure there is something for everyone here. My only issue with a menu so big is that I begin to question how fresh everything is or the quality of it and I think that was evident in our meal. We started with a "Mixed Veg Pakoda" I'll say that the flavor was decent but the issue was that all of the vegetables came out in such small pieces or sticks that I felt I was just eating french fries. We also had the Chili Paneer Fries which were really just big slabs of paneer in their chili sauce. Again the flavor was great but the word "fries" made us think bite sized when really they were big. I feel like the size of the Pakoda and Fries should have been switched. We had the Malai Kofta, Vegetable Jalfrazi, and the Navratan Korma. The malai kofta was not good, I'm not sure what recipe they used or if they gave us something else but it was just not what we expected. The Jalfrazi was good but again - all of the vegetables were cut as sticks. I feel like they just had some food chopper in the kitchen that they use instead of actually preparing vegetables by had. And the Korma was nothing special. The naan was very good. One thing of note - I got a mango laasi - this was flat out terrible. I think they just took a frooti and milk, mixed it together and served it. It was warm and again... terrible. I guess the problem was ordering Punjabi/North Indian style food from a typically South Indian restaurant. Willing to give it another shot for their South Indian specialties but the North Indian Curries are out. read more

I have been here on two occasions and this review is kinda an average of the two. The place is huge with a good restaurant feel. When it comes to food, the taste is pretty authentic. One issue is that when it's crowded on weekends, the service is REALLY slow. We waited for an hour for some of the food!! Items we tried were : Mini Tiffin: Similar to a sampler plate. Straight choice if you're too confused and wanna play safe. House special Appam: Comes with Korma which is a mix vegetable curry and Coconut milk. Happy to find Appam after a long time.However, I ordered the same dish on two occasions and the Appams was drastically different. House Special Adai with Avial: Adai is a dosa made out of mixed pulses served with a yougurt based vegetable. Not too spicy and tasted just like home. The rest of the stuff was standard Idli &Vada Sambar, Paper Dosa which all tasted good. Also loved the Pongal and Chilli Parotha. Full-flavored South Indian dosa but one critical issue: unsatisfactory service. We had a party of six on a Sunday and everyone's food came out 5 minutes apart. Our waiter was terribly rude and combative when we told him we received something we did not order. Arguing with your customers and telling them they are wrong In this situation does not lead to a positive experience as a customer and certainly did not make us feel happy about dining here. At one point another waiter brought coffee to our table that we did not order and was disoriented when we let her know we didn't. We arrived at the table and no one came to ask for our order nor gave us water for till after 40mins. After placing our order the food came relatively fast but the waiter didn't know which table. We received the main course before the appetizere which was weird. The paper dosa came really late and was cold so had to return it and get a fresh hot dosa. We recently visited the Parsippany branch. Excellent spread of vegetarian dishes be it South or North Indian. We even enjoy the Indian-Chinese items like Noodles and gobi Manchurian.
