If you are considering Aerlume for a special night out, it is a great decision. I had a reservation for a larger group. After making the reservation, the hotel sold out all of the remaining space, Scott the GM called me to warn that the experience might be different than what I expected. He was right, it was BETTER! But I appreciate him giving me the heads-up that ot could be a little louder with the other parties. We didn't have a view of the water at our table, but some of my group are real foodies and appreciated watching the kitchen work it's magic. The food and service was Amazing. Staff members frequently came by to say check on us, gave fantastic food and drink recommendations, freashened plate and napkins as necessary, phenomenal all the way around. My dinner party were mostly out-of-towners with whom I have business and personal relationships with. The restaurant really made us feel valued, and made me look good for making a great choice for our dinner. I can't wait to dine here again soon! Side note, I noticed Scott, the GM, interact with his staff. I attended a group dinner with 50/60 guests. Servers circulated with trays of hors d'ouerves for an hour and others took drink orders and it was a perfect hour. Our dinner was served family style. Just an excellent restaurant! I was a little bummed that they were out of the Eagle rare 10 year when we visited! The server made a suggestion that was a decent exchange. My friend got the old fashioned and said it was perfect. You can't beat the ambiance and the view! The tables around us kept getting smoky cocktails which caused quite a stir! Our server was wonderful, she was patient as we took a while to place our order. Our salad came out quickly, and was delicious, I even got one to go to eat the next day. I got the scallops which were delicious, although the risotto it came with was a bit bland. My friend got the filet and said it was delicious, my husband said the crispy cauliflower was exceptional. I became a member of the reveler club at my last visit and loved being able to use my points for my meal! One thing they didn't explain was that the points can't be used for the service fee or taxes, which I had to inquire about, if the server would let people know that upfront it would be helpful as it caused some confusion. The restaurant is beautiful with amazing water view, the interior design is very modern and always love the open kitchen setting. Service always on point, but the price is there too. The food is not very consistent, but overall not bad. There is one time my steak too salty, but another time they have done it perfectly. My favorite dish is the poke and side dish mushrooms. Wow! It's been a long time since I've been to a restaurant and walked out thinking, "This was excellent!" But, I kept repeating that throughout the night. Admittedly, I came with low expectations because the last time we visited (over a year ago) was for happy hour, which was just so-so. But this time, we had out of town guests and thought Aerlume would be a great spot given the view. Fortunately, we decided to order family style for our group of 6, so we got to try a little bit of everything. We got: Apps: CITRUS MARINATED BEETS 16 DUNGENESS CRAB LETTUCE WRAPS* 38 YELLOWFIN TUNA POKE* 20 Mains: HERITAGE BERKSHIRE FARMS PORK SHANK 45 BUTTERMILK FRIED CHICKEN* 36 SEARED SEA SCALLOPS* 59 Desserts: BUTTERSCOTCH PUDDING 13 ETON MESS 13 CARROT CAKE 13 Everything was delicious! My favorites from each round were the lettuce wraps, pork shank, and eton mess. The lettuce wraps came with a generous portion of crab, the pork shank was super tender, and I loved all the fruit with the eton mess. I would order everything again except for the scallops and butterscotch pudding. The scallops were fine, and my uncle who loves scallops really liked this dish. But, you only get 3 scallops, so the $20/scallop price point was steep to me. (Note: I'm not a huge fan of scallops, so this isn't something I would normally order--maybe this price point is normal.) There were too many flavors going on in the butterscotch pudding. It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't order it again, because there are other great dessert options. In addition to the plates listed above, we also got a bottle of wine, 3 coffees, and 1 tea; our total before tax and tip was $373. For a nice dinner for a group of 6, I think the price is fair. We left very full! And, if we knocked off the two least favorite dishes of the night (scallops and butterscotch pudding) we still would've been full. All in all, the food and service was excellent, and you cannot beat the view. This is high on my list of nice restaurants to return to. I'm already looking forward to our next visit. And one of my favorites things about this restaurant is for it being upscale food, you don't have to dress in a suite and tie affair. For the main course - the garden special (vegetarian) was tasty. The grilled cauliflower should be served with a steak knife though because I couldn't cut the stems with the dinner knife. For dessert I got the carrot cake with pistachio ice-cream. Sooo delicious!!! My biggest gripe would be that it took way too long for the waiter to take my order and bring out each item (even the bread!). We had the octopus appetizer, it was my partner's first time trying octopus and he was obsessed and commented he'd get that as an entree. We made an outdoor reservation for a weekday evening. 2) Ambience (+): I love the modern, romantic, and cozy vibe of the restaurant - complete with glass fire pits - that the restaurant was even able to replicate outdoors. 3) Food (+): We shared a smorgasbord of appetizers like the grilled Spanish octopus (with green hummus, lamb sausage, and yuzu chimichurri sauce), and Dungeness crab lettuce wraps (with crispy shallots and chilis in a Thai red curry citrus vinaigrette). For the large plates, we shared the grilled king salmon (with caramelized mushrooms, roasted sweet potato and squash, with yuzu chimichurri sauce), Niman Ranch grass fed New York strip (a large 14oz cut of meat with fennel chutney and rosemary and duck fat roasted potatoes), and a side of sauteed foraged mushrooms. I'd give Aerlume 3.5 out of 5 stars... I ended up at a 3 since I couldn't quite justify 4 stars based on overall experience/price. I made an online dinner reservation for a family birthday celebration on a Saturday evening in spring. It ended up being a gorgeous evening, which was perfect given the view of the sound! They placed a happy birthday note on our table as well as a handful of flower petals, which was thoughtful. There wasn't any outdoor seating at the time, although we got one of the better tables near the deck. Thank you! For drinks I went with the Miles Away cocktail ($18). This pretty little number included chamomile-infused blanco tequila, italicus, verjus (the pressed juice of unripened grapes), chamomile simple syrup, and fresh strawberries, served up in a coupe. It was tasty, although a tad sweet for me. I did enjoy it though, don't get me wrong! I would recommend if you gravitate towards fruity/floral adult beverages. $18 is a bit steep for this drink, although I suppose you're paying for the view. Side note: "Italicus delivers fresh tones of ripe Bergamot, balanced with a light bitter and floral spice. Bergamot is a citrus fruit, and is often associated with Early Grey tea." You learn something new every day! Now for the food. Through the reservation system I was able to specify dietary restrictions for each guest, which was pretty awesome! (In theory.) They had a lot of categories to choose from. For my sister and I, vegan/plant-based, and I also need to avoid alliums... I know, I know, a real pain in the bum. Anywho I was expecting our server to be aware of this but it seemed like my notes were not in fact noted. No worries, we mentioned these factors to our server, who wasn't the most helpful either. We made due, but I was expecting a little more effort/genuine enthusiasm, especially at a nicer establishment (the tip is included in the bill). I ended up going with the Farm Greens ($14) to start, minus the pecorino. This fresh salad was comprised of pickled ramps, carrots, cucumbers, watermelon radish, and a red wine vinaigrette. It was pretty good, nothing spectacular but I enjoyed it enough. At the end of the Large Plates menu section, "Vegetarian Feature" ($28) is listed as an option. The vegan option ended up being the same, minus the cheese. My plant-based main included roast cauliflower, fennel, tomato, herbs, lentils?? and a sauce of sorts. It was indeed healthy, although I would have enjoyed a lemony tahini sauce spooned on top for more flavor/moisture. After a salad and more veggies I definitely left feeling good at least! So there was ample room for carrot cake he he. My family members thought their dishes were okay. Some were definitely better than others. I do love the plates everything was served on! And the overall presentation was appealing too. The ambiance is modern and bright with a side of special occasion and business gathering, if that makes sense. I'd come back again if a friend/date/family member wanted to dine here, although there are more casual, affordable spots I'd rather frequent for the food. read more

We had a dinner with another couple at Aerlume for the first time on Saturday Evening, July 27th. I always go into restaurants with eyes wide open - and given a couple of poor reviews, was not sure what to anticipate. Parking was easy - right underneath the restaurant and PLENTIFUL! Easy elevator ride to the restaurant. The entry to Aerlume is beautiful - as is the view once you get through the glass doors. We were immediately greeted in a friendly manner - and seated right away. The service, drinks, meals, suggestions of pairing, etc. was "spot on" and fantastic. There are posts that shared that the food was bland - We absolutely did not experience that. Every meal and shareable that we had was great - We had the bread & butter, citrus marinated beets, Peruvian Steak Bites, Spanish Octopus, Tuna Poke, and the cauliflower. I guess almost all of the shareable starters. They were all excellent. For the main courses, we had the Alaskan Black Cod, the Goat Cheese Agnolotti, and the Sea Scallops. We even had a couple of the desserts to share - Carrot Cake with Pistachio Ice Cream (amazing) and the Cheesecake. EVERY meal was fantastic - as was the service. Attentive, yet allowed for private conversations. We had wine, a couple of the Pike Place Sippers, and the Manhattan. Also, all very good. If I was being picky (and doesn't seem like it so far) - the meal was in fact expensive, but we contributed to that by ordering a ton of plates! Also, we had reservations, but not the best view seats for the four of us. Not terrible views - but not the best either. I guess not everyone can have the best views! Had an incredible dinner here! Read on for all the details! First off, the ambiance was a 5/5 experience. The lighting was dim which was perfect for an intimate dinner. I like lavender so the lavender syrup was great. This cocktail was a touch on the sweet side. I did order 2 more though. Starters: Essential Bread and Butter: 2/5 Very underwhelming. We expected the brioche bread to be soft, but it was sort of stale tasting. The pairing with the cranberry fig butter didn't work for us. Considering that you pay for the bread, I was expecting more. Peruvian Steak Bites: 5/5 cooked to perfection! The steak was very tender and paired beautifully with the tanginess of the anticucho sauce. Grilled Spanish Octopus: 5/5 the octopus was cooked perfectly and was very tender! I was here last year for another dinner and we had a 10/10 experience so it was a bit disappointing to have recommended it to the group and no one really left satisfied. We ordered bread & butter , Peruvian steak bites, 3 orders of fried chicken, and 2 of the filet mignon & a variety of drinks. The good : The Peruvian steak bites definitely took the win, very tender and flavorful. We ordered cucumber fresh mock tails, IPAs & Rose which were all good. The staff did keep refilling our waters frequently which was nice, host was nice and greeted us with a smile. Also the view 10/10 it was pleasant to see the view during sunset with the windows open. The Bad : Presentation & quantity wise it was great but the food was lacking in flavor. The whole entire party agreed the food was okay but for the prices I think it should be better than an okay/good. Took a while to get our food but I'm assuming it was because we were a party of 6, it did take a while to get our bread and butter though. The bread comes with two types of breads, and the first two slices were good and the rest of the bread tasted like warmed up stale bread we should've returned it but we all tried a piece and basically it was all gone at that point so I didn't think it was appropriate to complain if it was all gone. The chicken texture wasn't what I expected from fried chicken and tasted gamey and definitely under seasoned.We did let our waitress know, and it was comped for so that was good. The filet mignon was around 70, and the best part of their dish was the mashed potatoes. Best part should've definitely been the steak itself at least. Bill came around to a little under 500 and we all left dissatisfied with the food overall and we ended up spending extra money eating elsewhere after. I don't even know where to begin, this place is hands down one of the best dining experiences I've had in Seattle! The restaurant itself is stunning, with floor-to-ceiling views of the bay, an outdoor patio setting with fire pits, and an open-kitchen experience where you can watch your meal be prepared. Our server was phenomenal. Despite the restaurant being packed, we never went without a beverage refill or a recommendation from their menu. My friend and I are foodies, so we wanted to try as much as possible. For appetizers, we tried the grilled octopus: 10/10, the most delicious and tender octopus I've ever had and the lamb sausage was amazing; we also had the Dungeness crab lettuce wraps: 4/10, I was not a fan of the bitterness of the radicchio and thought the sauce was lacking citrus and/or a more unctuous fattiness; the farm greens (8/10) were fantastic, I loved the addition of the citrus beets, it brightened the dish up tremendously. For our entrée we tried the C.A.B. Filet Mignon: 10/10 the meat was perfectly tender and the trumpet mushrooms were caramelized to perfection! The mashed potatoes and demi glace I could drown myself in and it would not be enough. Highly recommend! The Goat Cheese Cappelletti: 6/10 the filling of the pasta was delicious, but ours was slightly undercooked- however, the flavors made up for that. For dessert, we had the blood orange cheesecake (10/10) and the chocolate crunch bar (8/10); I'm normally a chocolate girl, but the blood orange cheesecake stole. the. show! It was light and delicate, yet rich and luxurious. If there's one thing you should get while here, it's that! Overall, my experience at this restaurant was out of this world! From the outstanding service to the creative and delicious food and drinks, I cannot recommend this place enough. We just finished dining here for the first time and we were overall quite impressed! The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavor. The service was alright, definitely not as good as the food. I was disappointed in our service, our waitress was a little cold and towards the end I asked if the $25 reward could be applied as I just signed up and she said "yes of course!" Then proceeded to charge my card the full amount. I said, "I thought the $25 was going to be applied?" She said, "oh no not if you just signed up. It's for next time." Which is what we initially thought, and makes complete sense- but when I had literally just told her I had just signed up and she said it would work I was then a little annoyed. Then she very rudely said "well there's nothing I can do. We can't apply it. Anything else?" Didn't offer to ask her manager for an exception since it's clearly just a misunderstanding. Luckily, before we left I asked to speak to a manager and he apologized for her behavior and applied the discount. That's literally all she had to do. Anyways, we will definitely be back in fact I plan on coming back with my parents for my birthday in a month. Food was expensive but not anymore than other nice restaurants. My fiancé and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary here tonight. I had made a reservation for 5 pm but were in the area early so we figured we would swing by early and see if they could get us in, which they did. When they seated us, the table was set up with a nice acknowledgment of our anniversary along with some fresh flower petals. The view of the water amazing from our seat. Matt was our server and was excellent all night. He was very informative of the menu and the allergies that each dish could trigger, which made it nice for my fiancé since she has a small handful of them. Conveniently located near Pike Place Market, this upscale restaurant boasts views, great drink and flavorful food. The servers were quite attentive and everyone pitched in to make sure we had an enjoyable evening. They pour a strong Old Fashioned, and as a vegetarian I had plenty of options. This place has some pretty amazing views of the downtown Seattle waterfront and the great wheel. Outdoor seating is limited but the views were amazing and well worth waiting for. Ordered the beef tartare which was delicious. The bread that came with it was honestly some of the best bread ever but the only thing that I wish was for it to come with more than two thin slices of bread. The filet mignon was perfectly cooked but the mashed potatoes were phenomenal. The asparagus unfortunately wasn't seasoned or anything special. Parking can be found underground in the market and there were plenty of spots available on a Friday evening. read more
