I don't write many reviews. In fact I'm skeptical about reviews in general. I've waited to see the results of the work done by Affordable Trenchless. Everything promised has been delivered. We had a major blockage of our sewer pipe in September that connected to the city main caused by tree roots. Ryan--the owner--came out and scoped all our pipes and promptly found the blockage. He also found a another small leak in one of our other pipes that would eventually need to be replaced by an 8' section of new pipe. He told us all other pipes under the house were in good shape. That was just the opposite verdict of 3 other well-advertised companies who gave us a dire repair and replace scenario costing $12,000 minimum and potentially thousands more. We decided on Affordable Trenchless. The crew finished the main and the other pipe repair in 2 days, but made sure we had service that first night. The City inspected without incident. The total bill came to $6500. There was no padding the bill AND NO EXTRA WORK THAT DIDN'T NEED TO BE DONE. While that was a lot of money for us, it was far under the other well-known companies. Ryan came out to my home today to address a problem with my sewer. Very professional, and paid close attention to my concerns. After discussing my problems ( clogging sewer line) he broke out a fiber optic device and inspected the line. To my surprise Ryan gave me great news, my sewer was fine and all it needed was to put on some root killer. This was a great relief as I had already had USA out and was ready to start digging. Ryan gave me a secret potion to kill the roots and did not want to change me for the time and effort that he put out. I insisted that he take a hundred dollars as he just saved me 7 to 10 thousand dollars! Folks, get several bids but make sure to call Ryan first, you won't be sorry. read more

Brent is the man! He came out to our home on 12/28/2016 to give an estimate on some work done, and to offer a second opinion on work that was suggested we do (trenchless replacement and liner work) on our sewer main. He ran a camera through the line and showed my wife that we in fact did NOT need the trenchless repair or pipe lining that was suggested by another company (sparing us a significant financial burden), and noted that the property drop section was actually the counties responsibility. Ryan showed up two days later with the ENTIRE crew and completed install of a two way cleanout on the main, and the secondary one way cleanout on the property to county sewer section. I contacted Affordable Trenchless and spoke to Ryan, I appreciated that he took the time to listen to my concerns about our water line issues even with a full busy schedule. We have been having issues for a couple years, cracked water pipes and leaks in our driveway. 1st time was a repair through another company and 2nd time it happened again, my husband started cutting into the concrete and digging to find the leak. Fortunately he was able to replace the pvc pipe but then it happend a 3rd time. Our driveway looks similar to a dog digging up several areas in the dirt to hide their bones. Needless to say we needed a permanent repair and fast. We could not be without water and an increasing water bill. Ryan gave us different options to repair and replace our water line. We ended up going with the trenchless water line replacement option. Ryan and his team stopped by to mark the lines being careful not to cut into the gas or sewer line, came back out and completed the replacement on a Saturday all while keeping us up to date on the repairs. Another trenchless company came in at almost double the amount we paid. It did take them some time to get out to us which I was forewarned before I agreed to the repairs, I can understand and see why because of their workmanship so their schedule fills up very quickly. read more

I cannot even begin to express my sincere gratitude and thanks to Ryan at Affordable Trenchless for his kindness to my family and our situation. When we purchase our house over 4 years ago it came with a disclosure advising there were roots on our sewer pipe and a quote from The Trenchless Company for $5000 to replace the sewer line. Over the next four years our sewer line backed up 3 times, however my father in law who is a retired plumber was always able to snake it back open and pull out a small amount of roots. Last week our sewer line backed up again and for some reason the access cap in our front yard did not pop, and sewage filled our bathrooms. We ended up calling Roto Rooter out to unclog the line, which they charged an outrageous $235 fee. The Roto Rooter techs then showed my wife a still image from their snake camera of our line, clogged with roots, stating it was an emergency, and quoting us $7800 to replace the line. I contacted several companies to request quotes, all which were unavailable to respond until the weekend. The last company I called was Affordable Trenchless, who responded IMMEDIATELY to check our sewer line and give us a quote. We didn't even need to be home at the time. My wife, however, was home, and met with Ryan. Ryan put his snake camera down our line and showed my wife the live video footage which showed our line was COMPLETELY CLEAR of tree roots. Not a single one! There was one section of the line about 40 feet from the house that had aged and a small root branch had started to come through where two end pieces met. Ryan told us that Roto Rooter had likely shown my wife a still image before they cleared the line, which was very misleading. Ryan told my wife (and later myself when I called to talk to him about it) that there was no reason at all to replace the entire line based off one small area where a root was coming through. He said the root that came through likely branched off over a two year period which eventually caused the back up we experienced. He gave my wife a box of industrial root killer (not the garbage you get at Home Depot we had been using for years) FOR FREE, and said to dump it in the line once every TWO YEARS and we would not have any issues or a need to consider replacing the line for at least 10 YEARS! Ryan then quotes us an incredibly low price to replace the line, if we were hell bent on doing it anyway for the peace of mind. I cannot thank Affordable Trenchelss enough for their help and honesty. If I even have sewer problems in the future I will not go anywhere else!! read more

For the last five or so years I've been recommending Ryan for his plumbing services to my home buying and selling clients. For older communities, he is necessary for his neighborhood experience and knowledge of the plumbing & sewer systems that are employed. 1) Sewer inspections- this is how I was first introduced to Ryan. Don't skimp on this. Nothing worse than a sewer issue! Ryan is not the cheapest inspector but his evaluations seem incredibly honest and his repairs affordable. Typically, because sewer systems can be accessed from the exterior or through the roof, clients don't have to meet Ryan. So there's no sales pitch. When you get your report, you get your bill. If he sees an issue, he posts the film of the ENTIRE camera-ed line. Not just a picture. And if there are questions, he will speak with my folks by phone. 2) Plumbing issues - I guess I never realized he did plumbing services, but after a conversation, I had Ryan come to my house and address some slow drains. (Yes, I thought it was a sewer issue!)... But his services are comprehensive plumbing things. So, my questions about my fireplace's gas line (plumbers do gas lines, did you know that?), moving my clothes washer, amongst others, were all answered and he's sending me a bill. I recently bought my first home, and I am a first time home buyer. It can be scary running into major issues with your home especially if you are new to it. The first time I used the shower in the house, when I came out to the driveway I noticed that the sewer cleanout drain was overflowing down my driveway into the street. I called Mr. Rooter and they came to give me an estimate. Mr. Rooter charged me $300 to snake the pipe and put a camera down there. And then they wanted to charge me to tell me exactly in the yard where there was a problem. I later heard about Affordable Trenchless and Pipe Lining (aka "Y Dig")...and decided to go for a second quote. Mr. Rooter quoted me at $4,000 and told me I needed my entire pipes taken out and have a new trenchless system installed. When Ryan (the owner of Y Dig) came to inspect. He was on time, and snaked the pipe for free with camera. Now THAT is a free estimate. He told me exactly where the problem was, and told me it was an easy fix and that I do not need a trenchless lining. He was professional, honest, and affordable. In my profession I have to call on plumbers for sewer inspections on a regular basis. It is not always my decision which company is used for these inspections. I have had experience with other companies in the past and have been left with mediocre to poor results. When Affordable Trenchless is called for the job I know the inspector will be on-time, will explain the sewer scope in detail, the sewer line will be recorded for my client(s) to view at a later time, and if there are any issues they will provide a quote and make themselves available within short notice to make sure the issue is managed as the client requests. The inspectors are are always courtesy, and the office staff friendly on the phone. I have been calling on Affordable Trenchless for their services for about 5-6 years now and I will continue to do so in the future. read more

Highly recommended! I had another company come out to clear a pipe and was told a portion of the pipe would need to be replaced and the cost would be over $5000. HIGHLY recommended, and I didn't even have any work done! Buying a new house I had another company come out and do a sewer inspection. They found a slight puncture in one of the pipes going out to the street. The puncture was at around 11ft in. The work recommended was to line 30FT @ $3400. I wanted to get a 2nd opinion so I emailed ryanydig@hotmail.com late at night and asked if I could get a quote. Tiffany emailed me back first thing in the morning to call. I called in the afternoon and she already knew what I was calling for and had my information handy. She told me her guy was out on a job right now and wouldn't be able to get back to me until 3pm. I said I really needed to get this done right away, was there some way to expedite it and she went ahead and gave me Brent's # and told me to call him and he could give me an accurate quote. So I called Brent who answered right away, even though he was out doing an inspection of another house. I explained to him what I was looking for, and also that I had a link to the video of my inspection and what he would recommend. He asked me to text him the link to the video and that he would call me back in around 20/30 minutes. He did exactly that and asked me if I wanted to know if the quote was good, or what he would do. I said what would you do, and he said he wouldn't touch it. Based on where it was, the fact it's been there since the pipe was laid (roughly 13 years), it'll be ok. He also did validate the quote of the other company saying that it is a proper quote and he explained why they would recommend doing the whole 30 feet. I can't express how much it means to hear an honest response when he absolutely could've said yes it needs work, and then quoted me $500 less to get the bid from the other company. He did not try and bad mouth them nor sell me something that he felt I didn't need right away. I have already recommended Brent to my realtor who will hopefully be bringing AT&PL more business as they very much deserve it! Oh, and this cost me nothing at all, now that is customer service. I seldom write on line reviews for people I use myself, refer and recommend as often as Ryan at Affordable Plumbing. I always assume that the fact that they work repeatedly for me and my clients is sufficient thanks but in this case I think an exception is in order. As a Realtor who specializes in old homes I frequently need a plumber I trust to come out and camera sewer lines for me or my clients. Often times these reports lead to nothing more than peace of mind knowing there are no issues. Occasionally however they point to the need for further repairs or replacement. It is here where Affordable Plumbing and Ryan Peterson shine the brightest. They are almost without fail spot on in their recommendations, offer a variety of options to address the issue and seem to take genuine delight in satisfying me and my customers. Repairing plumbing and sewer lines is certainly not a glamorous job, but try working with some of the other companies whose reports I've read and you will certainly appreciate the honesty and integrity of the crew at Affordable Plumbing. I had Ryan and Brent come out to my house last week as my sewer clean out was backing up in the back yard. They arrived the afternoon I called and were more then helpful. They cleared out the clog, explained the situation (damage to the pipe - but on the city's side) and how I can go about getting the city to fix the pipe. They even dug up the city clean out at my fence line that would need to be used. I never know I even had one back there! So, for same day service (that was all of about 30-45 minutes), great price, and the knowledge that they gave me, I will most definitely be using them again and would recommend to anyone looking for a plumbing service. read more

Outstanding. Would not hesitate to recommend...and I have done just that in many cases. We needed 85' of sewer line replaced. Ryan was recommended by a realtor who had used him a lot. I did the usual "get 3 bids" thing. Two of the bids were for trenchless repair; one was to manually dig up the line and replace. I didn't really want the mess of the trench (even though it wasn't under concrete or anything), and that bid was still more than Ryan's. Ryan's bid was nearly half the other trenchless company's bid (or said differently, the other company bid almost twice what Ryan did). I honestly couldn't believe it could be true, but I had no reason to doubt. They did exactly what they bid; replaced the sewer line; added 2 cleanouts (one at either end); got the permit; got the inspection; and billed me exactly what he said he would. read more

I have made an offer and need inspections done on an older home (1938) in Sacramento. I was really worried about the sewer line as there is a mammoth tree in the front of home right near where the lines would be. The crew showed up, Found no cleanout access, went up on roof and started a video inspection of line. He explained every step, took time out to show me elbows, slight buildup, different types of pipe, and prognosis. I got an education, ease of mind, and honesty at an unexpectedly super low price. The bid came back to add the cleanout/cleaning and I thought they left out zeros, but i was wrong. Super affordable and obvious experts in their field. A few years ago I had a sewer line back up. Ryan strongly suggested that I call the County to have them check to see where the blockage was first. Thankfully I listened and it turned out it was part of the main sewer line so no cost to me. Couple of years later my main water line leaked so Ryan had his crew out the next day on a Saturday to do the repair. Recently as I was about to leave on vacation the next day I had another sewer line blockage. Only one I could get to come at a moments notice was a rooter company. He snaked out some roots and said his camera inspection showed a collapsing line. A liner would need to be installed at a cost of $6000. As soon as I got back from vacation I had Ryan come out to give his opinion. After his camera inspection he said call him back early next year and if the roots had created any more issues that all it would need is a HydroJet treatment. Plus had it really needed a liner his charge would have been $4500. It's difficult to find honest people who do quality work for a fair price Ryan is one of those few. read more

We had a sewer line backup that was leaking raw sewage into the yard. A different company came out first (it happened over a weekend, and that company returned our call on a Sunday), and did the initial yard clean up and line clearing. They also discovered that there was a root intrusion at the city connection that would cause the problem again if it didn't get fixed, and gave us a rather high estimate for fixing it. That's when I called Affordable Trenchless for a second opinion, based on this company's great Yelp reviews. I spoke with Brent, who had one of his guys check it out and confirm the diagnosis of the problem. He then gave me the advice that saved us thousands - call the City Public Works Dept! Since our line happened to be relatively new and the problem was with the City's infrastructure rather than ours, there's a decent chance that if the City saw the situation, they would just do the job themselves. In short, Brent was right and the City did do the job, at a total cost to us of $0. Next time we need sewer or water line work done, you know I'll be calling Brent! read more

Professional, considerate and honest. Called them to get my sewer line fixed. They promptly returned calls and came out the next day. They treated us with care and respect and made sure we understood what our sewer problem was and the options for fixing it. They even post video of your sewer line on their website so you can see the issue first hand. They even came out after fixing our sewer line to check on an unusual sound we were hearing. Again they were prompt and even rearranged their schedule to come to our house to address our concerns. FYI, there wasn't an issue. The sound was due to no water in our bathtubs ptrap.
