This review has been a long time coming. After years of being terrified of going to a dentist, I did some research in to a few places and decided to make an appointment with AG Dental Studio. From the first phone call, the lady was so sweet and reassuring me that they would take care of me. Every time I have been (and it's been a LOT over the past 6-7 months: 4 wisdom teeth extracted, one molar removed + bone graft, fillings replaced, two chipped teeth fixed, night guard made that had immensely helped with my grinding... the list goes on) it's been a positive experience. I've had a lot of work done and Dr. Aznavour took his time with all that needed to be done so it wasn't so overwhelming having everything done in a short amount of time. Dr. Aznavour and the team are so friendly and attentive. I'm continuing to go back for routine check ups and cleaning since I trust the work they do. I'm one of the lucky ones who genetically just has fragile bad teeth. So it's always a challenge trying to find a good dentist and at the same time someone who is gentle. At this point I've had a crown, fillings, extraction, and soon to have an implant by Dr Michael Aznavor at AG Dental. The guy is truly amazing at what he does. Michael is down to earth, professional, and someone that actually cares about his clients. I don't know to many dentists who will call you prior to a procedure to go over everything in detail including cost! I came to this office based on the positive Yelp reviews and although my complaint isn't necessarily about the dentist, it's about his staff. His front desk staff need better training on customer service etiquette, particularly Tina who is very passive aggressive and incredibly unprofessional. As I walked in to my appointment, both ladies at the front desk looked up at me and then immediately looked down. It was very odd since I'm walking in to my appointment and naturally I'm going to approach the front desk to let the staff know I am there for my appointment.. so the fact that they both looked down to avoid me made me feel very unwelcome right off the bat. As I was waiting to be called in, Tina was on the phone with a patient and it seemed like they were not having a nice chat. As soon as Tina hung up, she started complaining about the patient to her colleague. This felt very unprofessional and awkward as I'm waiting to be called in for my appointment and it's something I've never experienced in a doctor's or dentist's office. The technicians had to take xrays of my teeth multiple times for the same area. The exposure of the radiation is already dangerous as is. They should get it right the first time so they don't over expose patients. The location of this office is nice, parking is convenient, the dentist is good, but the staff need better training from the front desk to the technicians taking xrays. A G Dental Studio isn't on Yelp yet? How could this be??? Wow. I am SOOOO happy I found Dr. Gasparian and A G Dental. He actually makes the dentist visit a pleasant one if that is even possible. I went in for a new patient cleaning, check up, and xray and it was $45! He does a GREAT CLEANING too. He's gentle yet very thorough and you just feel super clean. When someone finds a great dentist one should totally rave about it right? Well here I am raving about it. :) Dr. Gasparian is great, his assistant is great, and the receptionist/assistant/finance manager/jane of all trades is wonderful as well. They're all super nice, thorough, and will work with you so definitely get to know them and have your first great dental experience. $45 for a thorough yet gentle cleaning, check up, and xray in a nice office with nice people is a great deal in my opinion (first time patient special). He also has specials for cosmetic dental treatments so definitely ask! Whitening and whatever else you need he can do it all. Couple things to remember: ** Be nice to the staff! :) ** Don't forget to park in the back for free parking. ** Don't park in the front with all the meters and waste your money. ** They are usually at the office until like 6 or 7ish so if you get off of work at 5pm they can probably set you up with an evening appointment. ** They will mail you the paperwork to fill out beforehand so that you save time when you get to the office. ** IF needed, they do accept Care Credit. ** The xrays are digital or something like that so the radiation is lower I believe. ** Don't forget to tell them CRYSTIN referred you. The korean and white girl. LOL! It may sound like it but I DO NOT work here!!! I had my first visit at AG Dental Studio yesterday. I went in for a checkup and cleaning and the process could not have gone smoother from start to finish. After checking in and getting x-rays, Dr. Aznavour fixed a cracked molar he discovered on the spot and also did my cleaning. The entire team was very friendly and professional. Oh the irony... So counselor says "Jack! Are you out of your mind putting 8 packs of sure in a medium coffee??" I tell counselor no... It just keeps me sweet, lol (It's the truth!). She tells me that I need to do a sugar detox. Cool... Let's do it!! Of course, while I do my sugar detox my tooth begins to get some pain. That pain within a week turned into more pain... Then I can't have anything cold due to the pain! What the heck???!!! While I have sugar, I'm good and then I try to do something good and I'm in pain (and no, not a good pain!). I found AG on Yelp cause I practically find everything on Yelp! I walked in and had a moment of awkwardness cause I walked in and the front office woman and Dr.Mike were just starring at me, lol... Maybe a "Hi, how are you?" Lol. After a few moments of just looking at each other I told them that I have pain and they asked if I can come back in a few hours... Which was pretty impressive that they would take me in THAT quick! I got back, filled some paperwork and he got me seated. Now, please note- I do NOT like the dentist!! I never have, probably never will, and I love sugar! (sorry dr.mike... Nothing against you.. I'm sure you're reading this, lol). My first impression of him is "okay he's a young guy, God knows how much experience he has, BUT people on Yelp seem really happy... Let's do this!!" Second impression is - this guy is Armenian???!!! No!! Really??! Ok cool! The first visit took approximately 2.5 hours. He checked my teeth, got an X-Ray of ALL my teeth. There is a good and a bad of this... Bad is that I HATE putting that thing in my mouth cause I gag easily... Good cause it was done all through a device that gives a computer generated picture, which was really cool. He found that the pain that I had a crown that was too high or too low (I don't remember). He made some adjustments and said hopefully it will feel better and will follow up with me in about two weeks (thankfully it's feeling a little better). Then he checked the rest of my teeth and got me a quote right away on what I need done for my teeth to look great. The reason the appointment took so long is cause he was kinda jumping back and forth between me and the next room. I felt bad cause the person in the next room was scared to death, so I told him to take his time with them... I have to say that Dr. Mike is a good dentist. He and his staff make you feel comfortable and that is one of the biggest things that you could ever do for anyone that is going to the dentist. He was totally understanding, he was communicative, and he has a good staff to back him up. If you are looking for a good dentist, come by and check this place out!! I've lived in LA for 14 years and tried several dentists and I've never been happy. Either the work was not done correctly or the billing was complicated. I was met with a bright, clean, updated office, friendly staff and a dentist that really knows his stuff. I felt he was passionate and knowledgable and easy to understand. I love that the benefits were listed on a screen in the office and they were up front with the cost of the procedures. They were able to do x-rays and get right to work and accomplish so much in a small amount of time which was awesome. I can't thank thank Dr Michael enough. I had an emergency severe tooth infection that could've been fatal. Dr Michael was kind enough to see me first thing next business morning to help me. After sending me to the ER to address my infection with an oral surgeon, I needed the tooth to be pulled. I am not a patient here but i wish i was (they dont accept my dmo). I had a bad toothache that was becoming unbearable so on a Saturday morning i was searching yelp for a dentist that was open (mine was closed). I was so desperate i was willing to pay cash. I left several messages at various offices, the dentist at AG was the only one who returned my call and i was surprised it was the actual dentist. His office wasnt open (they open every other sat) but he patiently talked to me and after listening, he referred me to an endodontist who could get started on evaluating my pain. He also phoned that endo to see if they could squeeze me in. Wow, idk many dentists who would do that, especially on his day off. I was very impressed. The doctor and his team are always so friendly, and show genuine interest in your dental hygiene rather than doing a simple clean and leaving. I haven't been able to find good dentist, and was referred to Dr. Aznavour by a friend. I reached out to the office through their website, and received a phone call within the same day. The office staff was very pleasant on the phone, and was able to accommodate my requested date and time for my appointment. The office location has plenty of free parking! The office is very clean and tidy. Music is playing while you wait, and there are plenty of periodicals to look through. The exam rooms are large and the chair you sit in is very comfortable. I love seeing the pictures and X-rays of my teeth on the tv. If going to the dentist makes you nervous, Dr. Aznavour is the dentist for you. I was greeted with a big smile, and he spoke with me like he's known me forever. Very calm demeanor, and so easy to talk to. He explains everything in detail, and in language that I could actually understand, and made sure all my questions were answered satisfactorily. I also need to see some specialists, and he was able to make some referrals for me. His staff is great, and you can tell they care about what they do. They always make sure to explain what they are doing and the rationale for it.
