Went on a Friday night and it was surprisingly empty. The staff was super attentive and welcoming. Food came out quickly and was a hefty serving! I got the birria quesadilla which was MUCH bigger than expected. My husband got the birria tacos. In hindsight, I wish I would've gotten the tacos too much because they were easier to eat, but both were delicious. My husband also got a margarita, which he spoke highly of. It's a cute little place on the inside and a nice little patio outside for the warmer months. We'll definitely be back! read more

Delicious Mexican food right off the Nickel Plate trail in Fishers! We came in on a Friday evening and it wasn't super busy so we got seated right away. I loved the decor and the "te amo tequila" sign lol. They gave us some chips and salsa to start and we also ordered the guacamole, which was good but could've used a little more flavor imo. I got the arroz con pollo and it was perfect! I loved that it came with a salad to balance all the cheesy goodness. We loved our waitress, she was so sweet and the food came out really quickly. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality and quantity of the food! I ordered Fiesta Fajitas, and there was enough for two people to share this. The taste was great, and I left stuffed with plenty to take home. My daughter ordered the Chicken Quesadilla, and she said it was the best she has tasted. My first time here. Agave is located on the main floor of the Spark Apartments in Fishers, across from Four Day Rays. Plenty of free parking all over the places, including a parking garage around the corner. It's a tiny place inside but not too busy for sit down on a Tuesday evening. It looks like they do a healthy carry out business. I tend to rank Mexican restaurants on my first visit strongly based on their chips and salsa and this place has amazing chips! Light and crispy like white corn but yellow corn. Tasty salsa too. We tried some of the standards - arroz con pollo, agave burrito, Birria tacos and they were all very good. Super fresh, hot, and not overcooked. We got a pitcher of the Don Julio Margaritas and they were awesome. I would come back for the chips and margs alone! Girls night was a success. We were looking for a spot to land and came across Agave, what a find! There is outside and inside seating. We didn't have a wait to sit, and we sat outside. I ordered a pomegranate margarita and it was delicious! It was a mild sweet flavor and beautifully made. I ordered the Aztec burrito and two people could easily share this. My sister ordered Arroz con Pollo and said it was pretty good! We wanted to order Posole but they were out darn it. The chips are my favorite kind, homemade obvi, and a hearty chip that scoops guac, salsa, and queso easily. I love Agave! We usually get the Fiesta Fajitas for two. Great flavor and big enough to share! Atmosphere is cozy in the bar area, family friendly in the other side and definitely enjoyable in the outdoor patio during summer. One of my go to places at the Nickel Plate in Fishers. My family are big fans of the Carmel location and decided to stop in to the Fishers location since we were in the area. I have to say that as amazing as the food is at the Carmel location, the food here might be even a little bit better. Our spicy fajitas were fantastic and the queso seemed to have a better spice mix, but maybe it was in ours heads. Either way, if you stop at either Agave you are going to be in for a good meal. I will say it's a little difficult to find the front door at the Fishers location just due to the mix-use building. read more

Went for lunch on a Thursday around 1:00. There were no other diners in the restaurant. Cook was standing at the pass and said to sit anywhere. We did and then we waited for several minutes until waitstaff came over and brought water. QR code for menu was at table and we had already decided what to order but waitperson left before we could place it. Waited another 10 minutes before she came back. Ordered and waited, and waited. Such slow service. They were out of Guacamole as an appetizer. The Azteca Enchiladas were cold and tasteless. They were supposed to have mole sauce on them but were served instead with, as the waitress called it "tomato sauce", A tasteless tomato sauce. The Arroz con Pollo was okay, pretty standard, nothing special. Had to go ask the cook for our check. Waitress was no where to be found. It's really sad that the food was so bad because it's nice inside and has a nice bar area. I would usually give a place like this a second chance but the lack of other diners was telling and we should have walked back out this first time. read more

I went at 12 pm on a Saturday. I parked in front of the entrance door. I did not have to wait to be seated and they were friendly from the time I walked in. The patio was perfect for me. It is small, intimate and idea for watching the passerby's. So far, it's the best Arroz con Pollo I've tasted. The waitress offered suggestions. I chose a Margarita and even ate the edible flowers. My husband and I tried out Agave for a date night - we wanted to try somewhere new, close to home, and wanted to sit outside. Since this checked all the boxes, we decided to stop in and try it out! The service was a little slow - they were very busy, so totally understandable. Chips and salsa are given with drinks, but there's a note on the menu that you have to order other food (I believe) for those to be free - otherwise, the chips and salsa are $7. For our food, we had the birria tacos and a taco salad. I got the wrong protein on my salad, but no big deal! Overall, the food was fine, but nothing that will have us skipping another spot to come back again. It did end up down pouring while we were outside, and the serving team was very accommodating in letting us move to a table with an umbrella, and then eventually with helping everyone move inside after glass started breaking! read more

I really enjoyed this place! My sister and I were looking for a close/convenient Mexican restaurant with outdoor seating, and this place checked all the boxes. I started off with a mojito, and it was fabulous! I'm super picky with my mojitos - no gross toothpaste-like flavoring, no weird yellow color, and muddled mint is a requirement! I will definitely be coming back here for this mojito. We also shared the guac and salsa, both of which were great! I really don't like when Mexican places have super-hard chips, and this place did NOT. They tasted quite fresh. Yay. I actually forget what I had for dinner - some sort of chimichanga. Looooved it. My sister almost always gets the arroz con pollo, and she said that this one is the best in the area. Overall, great experience. I hope they stick around, as I'll be back! read more

I have drove by this place so many times on my way to downtown Fishers and thought it looked so cute inside! I love the decor of the restaurant and the food had so much flavor! The salsa was really good and had a little hint of roasted red pepper which made it even better than what I was expecting from other Mexican restaurants. Everyone's food came out pretty quick & everything was made to order as we had a few substitutions and it all came out correctly. I ordered the pollo asado which I've never had it come with slivered potatoes on it but it was a nice surprise. We went on a rather slow evening for them due to it snowing in April haha. Service was ok, our server was super nice but not great on the refills without us asking. They have a nice little outdoor patio for the summer so I'm looking forward to going back and trying some of their margaritas because they all sounded amazing! And need to grab more of that salsa read more

Two stars! And not because of food. But rather customer consideration (or in this case), lack of concern for the customer. The food was delicious (well most of it). The three carnitas taco included rice or beans. The rice was nearly cold, cool for sure. When she asked how things were I advised her the rice was not eatable at a cool temp and rather than bring another dish (I never send back food to be replaced with the same thing or another option). I politely asked her to make an adjustment to my check for the bad rice. What ever amount she believed to be fair would be fine with me. She refused. She said the price is $14 with includes the side. She said "you could have picked beans". I asked to speak to a manager she said none were here tonight. I am so over spending my hard earned money on or with organizations who have the attitude that I just need to suck it up and accept that shitty attitudes or behavior toward the customer is the new norm. Another example by an organization and one of its staff members of "NO" customer consideration at all. I smiled and thanked her. Paid my bill, even left a tip for her. I love dining at this restaurant. It's a small space, but it doesn't feel crowded. The staff is always friendly and the food is always delicious. We came for lunch and there was only 1 male server. I can't remember his name. It was a busy day and he was very attentive to every guest. The queso fundido with steak is listed under appetizers and dips, but it is a meal by itself. I've tried queso birria tacos at a few other local spots, but this place is my go to spot. If you've never tried it, expect a greasy meal, especially when you dip the tacos in the consommé. Also, I like to squeeze a few limes in my consommé. The portions are enough to share. Between 2 people, this is more than enough food; we had leftovers. read more

My friend & I had to wait for a table outside so we sat at the bar to have a drink while we waited. It took almost 10-15 minutes for anyone to serve us a drink & they ended up making the completely wrong drink for my friend. Once our outside table was ready nobody came to serve us & I had to go get someone to even come see us. A table that was sat after us was seen even before we were. I ended up ordering a shrimp & rice dish & honestly, it tasted great but later on I'm pretty sure I had food poisoning. The facility is way too small for the area it's in. While the patio area for this restaurant is nice, the food is just not very good. It was tasteless and not very hot. Had the chicken burrito and that was all it was. A tortilla and chicken with a little red sauce. Super salty as well which was the only seasoning they used. Out of tamales at 11:30am! While the waiter was nice he didn't write anything down and had to ask again what I ordered. Will skip this place the next time we want Mexican. read more

I was hoping to really like this place and I will say the service was great. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive even on Cinco De Mayo. However the food was not great. We ordered the guacamole and it was missing something... it just didn't have any flavor. We got the Molcajete and it was just ok. I've had one before at another local Mexican place that was much better. For me, it was a little too spicy - I didn't love the sauce in it. I will say the Don Julio Margarita was delicious. Then he said to me "the girl with you is she old enough to sit at the bar clearly" you could have asked her instead of asking me and then proceeded to look at me and say "oh you look like your well over 21" when I get carded all the time because I don't look a day older than 25 because black don't crack I kindly I got up and left was stalked/chased out the door with him yelling which was even more despicable.Then proceeded to say "well you are rude".
