Ordered on DoorDash with no expectations. Was pleasantly surprised with the flavor, quickness, and overall experience with this spot. Some would call it a hidden gem. Tucked away in Point Loma, it is a must try. They have a drive thru and a small inside area. Service was impeccable, very nice people.

Wanted to grab something late but the line at Phil's was crazy. Opted for some hard shell tacos and a burrito at Agave They have a drive through which is a plus. The lady was friendly. Food was cooked fresh. Taco de Papa - Shell held up on the way back to the hotel. Lettuce, little cheese and tomato. The potato isn't seasoned heavy like, normally they can have a little spice or seasoning but this was good. Taco de Machaca / Shredded Beef - Really good. Lots of meat throughout the taco. Sam lettuce cheese tomato topping as the potato one. Beef was flavored well and cooked perfectly. Bean and Cheese burrito w extra cheese - Wow! I don't know if all their burritos are this size but holy moly! This thing is massive. Probably about 12in long and 5 across. The beans are delicious. Glad I got extra cheese as they put it throughout the whole burrito. I wish it was a little more higher in temp to melt the cheese properly but it's all good. The salsas are tasty and pair well with this massive burrito. This could be a $10 burrito and it's worth it. I also god a horchata and pineapple agua Fresca. Both delicious and not too sweet.

Favorite taco shop in PL and maybe top 3 in San Diego. Tasty options, big portions and AMAZING hot sauce both red and green. My favorites go to's are carne asada fries, carne asada burrito add shrimp, California burrito add eggs (breakfast). The ladies at the counter/drive thru are always so pleasant.

We stopped off to grab some tacos and loved it here! The service is fast and food quality is excellent. They messed up one order (sauce wasn't removed) and quickly fixed it and let us keep the messed up order too. We dined inside but there's a drive through option. There are only a few tables inside so be aware if you have a large party. If I lived closer I would be here all the time! Prices are very reasonable too. ----TL;DR---- Pros: quick, great flavors, reasonable prices, good quality, drive through option makes it easy. I loved my beef hard shell taco and shrimp taco and my kid enjoyed his carne asada and carnitas tacos (see pics) Cons: smaller indoor seating (they also have outdoor seats) Bottom Line: if you crave some tacos, stop in, you won't regret it!

Wanted a quick bite before heading in to seaworld. This place hits the mark! No public restrooms so plan accordingly. Bacon Breakfast Burrito (4): Pretty decent breakfast burrito fare. The bacon was crispy and it was fresh. They had green and red salsas. Both were good. Carnitas Taco (4): Good size. The pork was cubed which was actually pretty good. Tortillas were greasy and just okay. Overall, decent no frills taco shop.

Was walking by and starving for dinner so stopped in here. Ordered the California burrito to go and staff was decent and got it out in a reasonable time. Burrito was about $14 so definitely overpriced but good and filling. Inside dining area was small but clean.

Decent taco shop in the Midway area. Carne asada burrito was good sized and was good. The meat was a little tough but very tasty. Inside was clean and well lit. Service was friendly and the food came out fast. A little bit pricey but what isn't these days?

I picked a place off Google but when we landed there we were not comfortable stopping to park, so we looked again and decided to check out La Puerta not realizing it was in the Gaslight District. I am not a fan of the Gaslight District, which is why I am so mad!! I'm going to HAVE to go back to the Gaslight District!! The food was AMAZING!! I HIGHLY recommend the Potato Flautitas. It's the kind of dish I'm going to dream about, I'm salivating now just thinking about them. I also did the Pick 3 Street Tacos (and actually ordered a 4th). The Ranchero Shrimp and Grilled Veggie were top notch. The Conchinita was recommended by our waiter, and it was interesting, tasty but different. It could have used a little more pickled onion. The only one I would not recommend (shockingly, I thought it would be the easy pass) was the carne asada. It was too greasy. My husband ordered a carne asada quesadilla and said the same, it was too wet and soaked through the tortilla. But there were no many other delightful options, I would say just don't go traditional. But honestly my favorite thing on the plate was the side dish rajas con crema, seriously, that alone is going to drag me down to the Gaslight District. I'm even considering going to a Padres game just for the excuse. I'm salivating again! As for our waiter, Colin, he was fantastic. Very informative, made great suggestions and seemed genuinely pleased by our satisfaction. He was smiling the whole time, friendly and stayed very present. I highly recommend you get yourself through the door at La Puerta and sit down for a meal ASAP. (We ate the food so fast I forgot to take pictures.)

Tapas style menu, we were a party of 4 and ordered: Squash blossom Relleno - it's the flower part of a squash plant and stuffed with mushroom duxelles which resembles a meat mixture with squash succotash. Outside is a corn tempura with a tomato base sauce. Pulpo-grilled octopus, one of the best texture and perfectly grilled skin with a chewy yet soft interior. The sauce has a slight kick and crunch from the corn nuts. Crab corn doughnut- this is their specialty and we were about to skip out but glad we didn't. The brioche bun had a donut batter with lumps of crab salad and corn mixture on top. El Festin- perfect for our party of 4 because it was a platter full of 4 Cheese quesadilla, 4 shrimp, 4 chicken slices, 1 jalapeño bacon wrap, ribeye. Flan-we should have each ordered one ourselves! Great flavors and texture, the top had ancient chocolate soil and had crispy corn nuts. Different but yummy. Overall, delicious food that came out so quick, great ambiance, we celebrated our birthdays and were each gifted candles with our names on the label. Truly amazing from beginning to end.
