I have been coming here for years and it's better than ever. Food is yummy, service is awesome, and they give you nice portions. I had the teriyaki chicken with white rice. Simple yet so good.

Appears to be a husband and wife team. Customer service was outstanding. It's a small place so don't bring a big party. Take a look at the menu prior to deciding to eat here. They do not have a large variety of sushi, seems like most of it is shrimp. HOWEVER! If you like the menu you will love the food. I would go back if I just happen to be in the area. Check it out for yourself though

We were craving ramen and found this little whole in the wall and wow the ramen was sooo good. We got the spicy miso ramen and it had tons of flavor and the perfect kick. I also got a roll and it was honestly Too big of pieces but was still pretty good. We also got spicy California roll and that was really good and fresh.

One server was super out of it like she didn't know where she was, other one was super short and rude. Both servers were inattentive and messed up orders. Had to send my shrimp noodles back as they were mushy, flavorless, and my shrimp was colder than my noodles. I came with six people and Everything, minus the fried appetizers were just not good it was all mediocre. The sushi was not rolled properly so it just fell apart.. Wouldn't recommend, wouldn't return.

The west valley has such limited options for ramen and good sushi so I thought I'd give this spot a try! Unfortunately, the only thing I enjoyed were the fried dumplings. The tonkotsu ramen, spicy California roll, & the red tiger rolls were all disappointing. The service was nice and friendly, we came in on a Friday night at it took 20+min to get our food. Overall, I wouldn't come back or recommend this spot

First time coming to this place and the food was great. My friend and I enjoyed our food quite a lot. The floor was clean and all of the tables were set up nicely, which was nice. I would like to say that when we both asked for eel sauce, our server gave us a small portion. I understand if there is a shortage, but we barely had enough to finish our rolls. Also, our server gave us the check a little early and seemed like she wanted us to get out of there. I don't know if I'll want to come back. The food was good, but the service wasn't the greatest.

Came here mainly for the tonkutsu ramen. Got spicy edamame, gyoza, chef Ben roll, & cheese balls. Spicy edamame was kinda undercooked, gyoza was good but just had to much liquid inside, cheese balls slapped, & the roll was aight. The ramen broth was kinda sus, noodles were alright, but props to the generous amount of meat and good flavor, as well as the egg(: Overall it was ok, but I would get just the balls & the gyoza

Randomly found this place and stopped by on a Saturday night! It's super cute and small but it's definitely worth it , they have happy hour and we were able to make it ! Tried their spicy edamame and delicious spring rolls! Also tried their spicy salmon roll that was super tasty! And to end our meal we had strawberry Mochi! Soooo good!

Last time I went some of the prices had increased but not outrageously. Their sushi rice tastes so authentic, love the tempura and California roll is one of my favorite things to get. I prefer a little more sauce than what's offered in the mini teriyaki chicken bowls but can ask for extra. Same owner from what I can tell after eating here for years. Happy to support local businesses such as this! I find calling in an order for pickup to be a smooth, seamless experience and haven't had a wrong order ever.

Chef Bens is what you would call a hole in the wall goldmine! A tiny quaint building with maybe 8 total tables. A family owned establishment with amazing prices and seriously some of the best tasting sushi rolls on the westside. Happy hour runs all day Saturday and Sunday and contains a huge amount of options. Service and just overall hospitality was top notch. By far I will be frequenting this baby very often.

Decided to look for a ramen spot on the west side. Ordered spicy tuna roll and spicy edamame for apps and tonkotsu ramen and spicy miso ramen as entree. - The roll was good but didn't see any reduced sodium soy sauce. Adequate amount of tuna in the roll as well. - Spicy edamame were not fully cooked but good seasoning - Ramen bowls were good in size, broth tasted very good in the beginning however, the noodles were so mealy and starchy that the broth after a minute tasted really mealy and gritty. What a shame to have these noodles in there, ruining the dish. - wait staff seemed like they didn't want to be here on a Sat night :(

It was both gorgeous and delicious!!! Nestled in an Avondale strip mall, this cozy little Japanese place serves up a deep menu of over 60 different sushi rolls, five different kinds of ramen, as well as staple Japanese and Korean entrees like Teriyaki, Bulgogi, and Katsu bowls. The restaurant is pristine: everything in the front of the house was clean and the decor was a balance of both modern and traditional Japanese. Their lunch rush was steady; the dining room was well occupied shortly after opening. And the service was attentive and genuine! This is, hands down, one of the best sushi spots in the area! I will be back!

Unfortunately, I have to change my review. We've been coming here since Sushi Love first opened,…read moreand in the beginning this place was on top of things, the servers were friendly and attentive, and while the kitchen could be a little slow at times, it was never anywhere near as bad as what we experienced today. Here's the timeline from when we arrived to when we finally received everything: 12:10 - Seated 12:20 - Finally able to order drinks and food 12:27 - Received my single sushi roll 12:54 - Guest received his entree 1:04 - Just received our gyoza appetizer It took over 10 minutes after being seated before the waitress even got us water. I was trying to look up other restaurants in the area because we were about to leave. What made this even more confusing was that it was a Sunday right after opening, and the restaurant wasn't even busy. Because the appetizer took so long, I ended up splitting my single sushi roll with my guest so he wouldn't have to sit there hungry while waiting on his food. Even then, it still took over 30 minutes for his entree to arrive, which was ridiculous considering it was just one dish. The most frustrating part was waiting nearly 45 minutes for a single appetizer order of gyoza. We were honestly close to leaving before it ever arrived, and I would have left still hungry. If the appetizer had come out in a reasonable amount of time, I could have actually enjoyed the roll I came there for in its entirety instead of having to split it just so we could get by while waiting. The pacing of the food also made no sense. Appetizers should come out before entrees, not after everything else. Instead, one person was eating while the other sat there waiting, which made the entire experience awkward and frustrating. If the waitress paced things correctly it would have made a huge difference and likely helped prevent the kitchen from getting backed up. On top of that our waitress never apologized for the delays or acknowledged the excessive wait times, not even after we waited over 10 minutes just to get water. She did repeatedly asked if we "needed anything else" while we were still waiting on food. Like, yes, we needed the food we already ordered? Overall, the experience felt extremely disorganized and uncaring from both the service staff and the kitchen. What's especially disappointing is that this wasn't our first bad experience here. This is now the second visit in a row where we've dealt with extremely slow service and a noticeable lack of attentiveness (last time we were there they forgot some food, not only ours but also a table next to us). This place used to be good, which makes the decline even more frustrating, the kitchen needs an overhaul or something. Sushi is good and not as slow but ordering anything from the kitchen or getting drinks is like pulling teeth to get. Sushi Love isn't a huge restaurant, so it's hard to understand how things have become this disorganized. We gave the restaurant another chance hoping things would improve, but this was by far the worst experience we've had here.

A true one‑star experience is foreign objects in the food, cold meals, or no service at all -- and that's not what I experienced. I ordered takeout, and when I got home the food was still hot. I had the shrimp egg foo young and BBQ pork fried rice. The egg foo young was excellent, and the portion size of the fried rice -- along with the amount of BBQ pork -- was generous. This is easily a solid four‑star experience, maybe higher depending on what you order. I've lived on the west side for years, and I still haven't found a better Chinese takeout spot in the area. I couldn't tell you the timeframe of when the current ownership took it over from the previous owner when I first started frequenting Eest. The change was immediately felt. The level of customer care and taste of food changed. Not for the worst, but different. My last visit this month for an order of shrimp fried rice was my final straw and I will find somewhere else to find some food. It has been a very slow spiral downward with the quality of food. I am talking years where the consistency was slipping. Then last month it was as if they forgot what they were doing. What was served to me was edible, but nowhere near what I have been given in the past. I hope it was a bad day for the kitchen for the establishment's sake! Call in takeout orders have been a speed bump. You call in and you're quoted a time of when your order will be ready. You pay for your order when you get there. Then the clock starts. It totally defeats the purpose of the original quoted timeframe.
