The egg was fully hard-boiled rather than the usual soft, jammy ramen egg, and the noodles were very al dente in a way that didn't feel quite right for ramen. Turns out he's a former white-tablecloth restaurant guy who decided to bring his culinary wizardry to a laid-back grill. And you can feel it immediately. Crispy, golden, and exactly what onion rings aspire to be when they grow up.
