Came here on a weeknight and there were three workers and one person being helped by the male worker. Not a problem, I can wait. Finally the one girl turns around from whatever she was doing and I can tell she didn't want to be there. She kept giving so much attitude and we were confused why she couldn't help us since it's our first time there and we didn't see half the fish out (because who needs to refill right?) anyway, she wasn't having it and honestly, this place isn't it. I'll be simple and to the point with this poke spot! The fish is good, the selection is good, the sauces suck though! The spicy mayo tastes too much like straight mayonnaise, not enough flavor behind it. The house sauce was also pretty bland and too oily. I'm not sure if I'm just being too critical because I love poke but it made a huge difference to me. This place is also EXPENSIVE. $15 for probably, 5oz of fish. It's like poke bar with a better dining area but doesn't taste as good. For the record, North Shore holds my top spot. read more

The wasabi citrus sauce was a great addition to my plate and the server kept asking questions on how we wanted our sides placed, which is wonderful and considerate. The guava drink was not too sweet nor watered down. My only objection was an extra charge of $0.75 for a 2nd spoon scoop of seaweed. Even though we were allowed to choose all side options, where I chose most of the sides except for that orange fish eggs and wanted to substitute it with an extra scoop of seaweed, but to no avail. This place is awesome! It opened up not not too long ago near the traffic circle in the plaza where Hiccups is located at. The venue is clean and spacious with a pretty good selection of music. When I went in the other day there was a nice hip hop vibe and today there was a nice edm vibe. Aside from the friendly atmosphere, the food here is amazing. I personally order the luau tuna (it's mixed with some kind of house sauce and has chunks of avocado in it). All the fish looks delicious and fresh and you can tell that the quality of the fish is is spot on -- it doesn't look like it's been sitting for days. In regards to the garnishes that go with it, there's so much too choose from that I chose everything without wasabi (seaweed salad, imitation crab, pineapple, ginger, the rice seasoning, fried onions... and so much more I can't remember what I had, lol). Anyways, I bought my bowl with their grand opening deal where the bowl is 50% off if you purchase a drink. I didn't order just a regular fountain drink with my meal. I like this place, but the portions are kind of small for the price. The regular size bowl is enough to fill me up so it could depend on your appetite. I do wish they gave more fish, and with the toppings you can try to ask for more until they give you enough. The sauces are pretty good and they have a good variety of all things. This is one of the only places I've gotten poke in lb, so I don't know how long I'll be going here after reading many reviews that say there are better/cheaper places to go read more

Ate here tonight with my guy. Fast and super friendly service! We both ordered regulars with salad. I ordered tuna luau x 2 (2 big scoops for the reg) and my boyfriend ordered spicy tuna + salmon. Everything was FRESH and perfect, we both loved the variety of toppings (mango, crispy onions, eel sauce) that we don't always see other places. Only reason I give a 4/5 is the sauce, too much. Once you hit the the sauce 'station' you're given the choice of about 8 (give or take) flavorings, I love a fusion of flavors, and selected 3, (house spicy, house creamy, and miso garlic. My subtraction of a star is because the pour was 3X the sauce needed. End result was like an overly dressed, nearing soggy salad. Still FRESH, greens, fish and ingredients. I'll just specify "1/3 of each" to the pokerista now (I just coined pokerista, copyrights now go to me ;) but seriously, something I recommend to their learning when it comes to layering/mixing sauces and the amount. I really want to give this place 5 stars. If I wrote this review a few months back I would of. Since then the service seems to of gone down. They are often out of items. today they were out of ele sauce... really no ele sauce um ok ill take a side of spicy creamy sauce. I get back to the office ready to dive in to find they did not include my spicey sauce. I noticed the very Nice female manager they had since I started going about 18 months ago seems to no longer be with them. This might be part of the service issues. Aside from that the food items that are in are very fresh and the prices are fitting for the portions. Cool, clean vibe here. Everything tastes fresh & delicious. Their sauces are good & generous. Docked a star (maybe a star & 1/2) bc nowadays, you can throw a stone & hit another poki place. The prices are not very competitive. A large bowl is $12 for 3 scoops of your choice of seafood (as long as it's not unagi, yellowtail... those will be extra. ) Portions of the toppings also aren't very good.. I think I got like 4 edamame in my salad. I really like the taste but with simple poki bowls coming out to $40+ doesn't seem too worth it. Overall, it's good but it doesn't really set themselves too far apart from other poki places I've been to. Ahipoki is definitely worth a visit if you haven't yet though! read more

That being said, the quality of the fish was average, and the portions quite small, with high prices: $9 for a 2-scoop regular. I would recommend Poke Etc on Willow for better fish and prices, or PokiStar in HB for the best of everything. This place is OK if you're in a hurry. read more

I have been a fan of poke for quite awhile now, but have never seemed to find a place around Long Beach area where I work. I tried this place twice and got a mixed bag. To start off, the service has always been amazing! Everyone I have ever interacted with has been beyond friendly and helpful. They are enthusiastic and always offer friendly conversations while preparing your food. They see my uniform and never fail to ask how my day at work was :-). The food is great as well! There is a variety of different topping to choose from and these toppings have always been fresh and tasty. However, the problem I have with this place is the varying portion sizes. Both times I have ordered the exact same thing and one time the container wouldn't even be able to close with all the toppings, but the other time, there was noticeable air in the container. I understand that each prepper is different and I have attributed it to that, but the difference was so vast it made me look twice at my receipt to make sure I ordered the right thing. I have such a love/hate relationship with this place but I'm kind of just over it. The food is pretty much consistent, scoops are a little small so the large is like a medium at comparable places. My main issue is that the staff are awkward and rude. I've had one girl rush me along and start adding items before I said what I wanted, another time I was told "we just don't have it" when asking if there was more of an item that was not in the case. Once I brought a friend with a fruit allergy and they acted annoyed when she asked if they could use clean utensils to make sure she didn't get sick. Today I brought my daughter who just wanted 2 small scoops of fish and a small amount of rice no toppings and I was told it would still be $11. He told me that the kid price is for one scoop (4.95), but even if I got an extra scoop of fish ($2) it should only have been 6.95. Was charged for a full size bowl. I said to the employee that I really don't think I should have been charged that much for such a small amount of food and he said it was my fault for not getting any toppings. It's one thing to be over priced but to have employees that consistently argue with customers and treat them like crap is so beyond. read more

New Poke place in Long Beach! I tried the regular with 2 scoops ($9.50). They have a tuna luau option. Already has avocado, onions, and dressing mixed in with the tuna. Half rice and half salad. They mix the other seafood option with the salad and add dressing to it. Unlike other places, this salad won't be plain. The house spicy dressing is really good. A lot of sauce options available. Customer service is on point! Very helpful staff. The owner, I think, offered free miso soup half way through my meal. Wish it had tofu in it but can't complain. It was free! Sad to say, there's no wifi available here. Such a bummer since this place is only a couple minutes away from CSULB and I'm sure a lot of the customers are students. I've been coming since they opened and loved their poke bowls. It became a once a week thing at one point ... but the last handful of times I've gone the assembly of the bowls has just not been consistent. They used to mix your proteins, produce and sauce. It was great! Everything was coated nicely and each bite offered something different. And the rice! Oh, was it good! Perfectly cooked and the perfect temp to compliment the fish. Now, it's just different. The assembly has changed - lettuce stays dry - and the rice seems overcooked and gummy. This time, the house spicy was extra spicy. I think because they don't mix it anymore, so there was like a hot spot in my bowl. I still think it's good. I like the portion and the sauce options, and the fish tastes fresh. I'm just bummed that I've ordered the same thing every time and at this point, I'm not sure what I'll get next. My husband is over it at this point, so sadly it will be a while before we come back. Really wish they made them the way they used to. I feel like the new assembly is to speed up the process...but I'm OK waiting if I can enjoy the bowls like they used to be. I wish them the best! I know times are difficult right now, and I wouldn't have even left a review, but when I was checking out they made it a point to ask me to leave a review ... so, here you are! I come here at LEAST once a week to get my poki fix! The fish here is always fresh (my favorite is the tuna luau), and the selection of sauces and toppings is larger than your typical poki spot. You also get A LOT of food for the price that you pay. Not only is the food consistently tasty, but I am always greeted by the employees when I come in! All of the workers I've interacted with are helpful, upbeat, and have positive attitudes! Costumer service here is a huge plus!
