    Hawaiian BBQ Chicken plate
    James A.

Ordered through the app and it was ready by the time I arrived. The place had a ton of people eating inside and was also very clean and well lit. I love how you can serve yourself and get your own katsu and teriyaki sauces. Food was nice and hot and chicken was tasty and tender! Definitely enough for leftover for tomorrow as well!

I know this is a chain, but I appreciate having this location as a relatively healthy option for food on-the-go. Took advantage of an online special, which I split into two meals. Made it an affordable dining option with a protein option! Friendly service!

C'mon, who doesn't love them some Ono Hawaiian? This location took over the old Hiccups spot that moved up the street. I have eaten here twice and had a great experience both times. There are two self-serve order stations and two cash registers. They definitely seem like they'd prefer you use the self serve stations, but they'll come over and help you if you stand at the register. I had a specific mailer coupon so I went to the register to make sure I didn't mess it up. It is basically Hawaiian fast food, but it is pretty bomb. I got the teriyaki chicken lunch plate and a chicken katsu mini meal. White rice, that signature macaroni salad, and steamed vegetables galore. All executed very well for how fast they make it. What can I say, they are good at what they do. A solid and affordable choice for Hawaiian if you're in the mood.

The inside is very nice and very clean as far as timing they take a while but the food was good . The chicken katsu was 6/10 wasn't to crisp . The bbq chicken was 10/10 very delicious and tender . The skirt steak was cool it had pull to the bite. The flavor was a7/10 . Pretty expensive I spent closer to $50 for the meal with a side of Mac . Great service .

For quick, convenient, and affordable Hawaiian food, this is very hard to beat. You walk in and immediately will feel the friendly vibe from employees, and the food is consistently delicious and loaded. The katsu is good and without too much breading, the chicken is cooked and flavored well, although slightly on the saltier side, the beef is great, and the beef short ribs are probably the only thing I'd skip because I'm used to Korean short ribs which are incomparable. The macaroni and even the bed of cabbage are a nice touch. But price-wise, it's far and away better than Chinese fast-food and you can easily share with two adults.

Located off Lakewood Blvd in Long Beach right by the traffic circle by the Ralph's in the plaza. Parking is shared with all the businesses as well. The place has a few tables inside and some outside. I mobile ordered my lunch today. It was efficient and quick. My order was ready when I arrived. I did eat my meal there. I got the shrimp and island white fish mix. The staff were friendly. They have a rest room you have to ask for the key at the counter. Overall a nice place and yummy food.

Dependable great tasting food. Love that the location makes things fresh. Spam Masubi are made to order. Love that the rice is still hot!! They have fresh coconuts here too. Yummy and so refreshing Glad that they don't argue and try to make things right we ordered 2 kalbi plates and one of our ribs were pathetic to say the least. They quickly offered to give us another. And they included extra veggies with it too Thanks so much for making the customer happy Place is located in the corner of this mall. So plenty of parking on both sides. Bathrooms are clean and got seating both inside and outside. Drinks are self -serve

This place must be new because it doesn't even come up on my Apple Maps search yet! The food is okay and the pricing seems easier to stomach than a couple of other spots nearby... I ordered the Hawaiian bbq mix which gave me a mixture of reactions. The chicken katsu is super crispy on the outside, like maybe too crispy, it got so hard to chew it at one point like my jaw got tired of biting into it after a few pieces. By itself, it's alright. With the katsu sauce, it's way better. The beef was a bit on the dry side and the flavor was kind of there, honestly the bbq sauce was its saving grace. The bbq chicken tasted good though, I will give them that, pair it up with that bbq sauce and it's even better. The rice and Mac salad are as good as it can get, for the most part. The inside feels a little cramped but maybe I'm comparing it to what this place used to be (Hiccups) which had plenty of interior space and seating. Don't get me wrong, there's some seats and booths inside so you can definitely eat in the restaurant. The booth we were at was super hot from the sun glaring through and also there was a fly buzzing around so we decided to take it to go. The service was mostly good - we ordered through a kiosk tablet so we didn't really talk to anyone, but there was a staff member who was ready on standby in case we had questions. Overall, I don't know if I'd recommend this spot. The food is kinda in the middle - not so great but also not so terrible either. I think I'd only get it if I was really craving Hawaiian bbq and in the area, otherwise I wouldn't make the drive out.

Another Onos? Yes, just came here for grand opening today. Probably one of the smallest storefronts I've been to (just a tad smaller than north Pasadena location) Katsu and bbq chicken are my go to here. Katsu sauce is insanely good make sure you pack some next to the soda fountain. I was the first customer today. I did feel the contents inside my box was a tad smaller than my favorite location in anaheim but it was still good. They had a build labubu today. I'd pass on it. I will be back here getting some lunch since I work 2 minutes away. It's all day BOGO so I'd suggest you get some plate lunches today.

I had a BOGO coupon for an Aloha plate, so I picked up two with Teriyaki and BBQ Chicken. Both plates were packed and felt like 2-3 lbs of food each, including salad with edamame and steamed rice.

BBQ Beef Plate (top), Kalua Pork & Spam Musubi (bottom). So Ono! Delicious! @ojbaylen

So happy this opened nearby! It took over where Hiccups used to be) I like this spot waaaaay better than L&L! Ordered spam musubi, kalua pork (not too salty just right!), and BBQ beef. Can't wait to come back to get our island food mix and not travel too far! Plenty of parking space! Friendly staff too!

We love coming to Ono's, and this was another treat! We ordered the Korean short ribs meal, which comes with rice, vegetables, and macaroni salad, the portions are huge and are definitely shareable. We also like getting their combo meals because you can choose what entrées you want, which is nice. We really like the Kahlúa pork it's super moisture flavorful. This time I tried the fresh Young coconut. It was really nice! If I like being back in Hawaii and it was only five dollar. Service as usual was pretty quick and definitely recommend getting a family meal to share!

The food was unappetizing and I only ate a little bit and took home the rest. Parking: It can get difficult since it's a busy plaza. Not impressed, and unfortunately, not sure if I will be back.

The Loco Moco & the sauce is delicious, the beef curry is tasty, and the Lau Lau ain't bad either. I've been coming to Back Home in Lahaina in the early 2000s since I started working in the South Bay. With our frequent visits, we were given loyalty stamp cards that earned 3 free rewards after reaching a designated tier: beverage, appetizer, & entrée (usually redeem the Lahaina Fried Chicken Entree) or t-shirt. In the early 2010s, we changed our dining time to their "Kids Eat Free on Wednesdays" after H turned toddler, & brought our friends with kids too. While the longstanding promo is no longer active, they occasionally run holiday or event-based kids eat free specials. Their Keiki (kid's meal) Menu includes: main entrée, side, drink, & dessert... it's a great value for the amount of food! I first learned about Back Home in Lahaina from my bank supervisor who lives in the South Bay. Her family loves the authentic Hawaiian comfort foods, particularly the addicting Lahaina Fried Chicken. It's famous for their slightly sweet, light & crunchy chicken. I love adding a splash of NOH Hawaiian Hot Sauce for a l'il heat! There's 2 specials (Beef Stew Curry, Fish & Chips) that I often order when I see it on the menu. And I always order the curry... love the Japanese-inspired curry roux base with mild heat! Usually posted in the late fall & winter, it's the perfect comfort food to counter the chill! When my husband is hungrier than norm, he'll either add an order of Hawaiian Nachos (they use wonton skins as chips instead of tortillas), or replace the entrée with the Back Home Sampler, which has a bit of everything. We've ordered maybe 1/2 of the menu over the years? Sticking to our favs, & adding other items when we're dining with guests. Their entrées are large enough to share between 2 people, & have been doing so in later years whereas I was hangry enough to eat the whole plate on my own. If you still have room for dessert, Haupia or Jello Cheesecakes are both delish to end your meal. I like the former; it's creamy yet light with a delicate, rich coconut filling. The kiddos love the latter for the strawberry jello that adds a sweet bouncy punch of flavor to the tangy cheesecake. The 1st decade's food & service was excellent, & we dined in so much that we knew most of the servers & can ask for "our usual" before we are seated. The timing is almost seamless from entry to our order to paying our check. Our servers were detailed-oriented to make sure everything is in place after serving our food (extra plates & napkins, necessary condiments), refilling our water with no/little prompts, & bringing our check quickly with necessary boxes when there's leftovers. However, the 2nd decade had its ups & down, especially during the pandemic lockdown (the once spacious dining room was awkward & warm with the plexiglass partitions). Gone are our fav servers, loyalty stamp card, & "Kids Eat Free on Wednesdays." What really kept us from returning often is the lack of consistency in food & service. If we're taking an early dinner around 5:30 PM, sometimes we have to wait awhile because there's no host(ess) at the counter. There may be times when we're seated & there's no server around, or I'm waving the menu to catch their eye. Then there's order execution issues: waiting period from our order to expedition time, not everything is served the relatively the same time, food quality (partly raw chicken, stale wonton chips, overcooked chicken tenders, etc.) & quantity (seems like there's a less?) issues. It's common enough to be a deterrent for frequent repeat visits. But when they're on point, it's the best bang for your buck value for a delish Hawaiian meal! Back Home in Lahaina serves some of the best Hawaiian foods around the South Bay. It's a vibrant community hangout, especially when they host live Hawaiian music (usually on Friday evenings) from regular local acts & guest feature artists! Mahalo! Recommended: Everything on the order list, especially the Lahaina Fried Chicken & Beef Stew Curry.
