There are two self-serve order stations and two cash registers. They definitely seem like they'd prefer you use the self serve stations, but they'll come over and help you if you stand at the register. I had a specific mailer coupon so I went to the register to make sure I didn't mess it up. It is basically Hawaiian fast food, but it is pretty bomb. Sincerely sad THE FOOD WAS SO GOOD because we probably won't be returning. We placed an online order at 4:15pm and scheduled it to be ready for pickup two hours later at 6:15pm after my kid's extracurricular activity. If you have a busy lifestyle and multiple kids with busy schedules, you know how important it is to stay on time. We scheduled this to be ready so that we could swing by and pick this up quickly on our way from one kids class on our way to the other kid's class. I arrived 5 mins before the scheduled time and let them know I was there for an online order. The front counter was severely backed up, i felt bad for the one guy who was doing his best to take in-person orders, answer the phone, and check in online orders for pickup. The majority of the people working were in the kitchen, and they had one woman packing up orders that were ready. After waiting 10, then 15 mins past my scheduled pick up time (making me late for my next apt), I asked her to check if any of the bagged orders were mine since she had not spoken to me yet, only the man at the counter had asked my name. The woman gave me an irritated look and told me "that's not yours". I found out later it was a super large order for a man who had 5 bags of food to pick up, but regardless- the attitude could have been better given the fact that my order was late and we ordered it TWO HOURS in advance, so there was no excuse for it to not be ready. When my order finally came up, she did not verify in front of me that it was complete like I saw her do for others ahead of me, and when I noticed she did not add any of the sauces (katsu & teriyaki) that they have in prefilled tubs next to a sign that says "please ask for assistance, this is NOT a self serve station", I asked her for some. She said "there's some over there" and just pointed to the self serve station that's obviously for the eating-in customers. (It also had a line making me wait even longer) which was super frustrating because I saw a whole stainless steel bucket of prefilled ones but she refused to give them to me. Overall, i did not feel valued as a customer and just felt like the female employee was irritated with me when I was the one being inconvenienced by my order not being ready on time. I've worked plenty of customer service facing jobs in my life and I know that if my team and I are the ones falling behind and not delivering what the customer is paying for, IM THE ONE BEING HUMBLE regardless if it's my personal fault or not. Not making the customer feel like they are the problem. Overall, great food, but probably wouldn't go back simply just for how that one employee interacted with me. Management should also do something about the ONE guy doing his best to manage the entire front of house pretty much by himself. Taking orders on the phone, handling online orders for pickup, answering the phone AND working the register for in person orders is way too much for a single person, especially during the dinner rush! read more
