I crave Musubi, Hawaiian BBq hits the spot. The bowls are generous and the meat is cooked to order, delicious sauce and fresh veggies.

    Spam saimin

3 stars My mom wanted saimin because she was missing Hawaii and it was a rather breezy day in LB today. So, she got the Spam Saimin ($7.95). It was decent...the broth wasn't too salty. The noodles were slightly overdone, but it was still edible. The spam was spamming. Service was friendly. Outdoor seating is available. I'll definitely be back to try other items.

    Roach infested

Visited during daytime hours and unfortunately saw a roach in the dining area, along the wall near the seating. This wasn't in a hidden corner or after closing -- it was visible while customers were actively dining. I understand restaurants can have challenges, but seeing pest activity in the dining area during the day raises serious concerns about cleanliness and pest control practices. It made me uncomfortable continuing my meal. I quietly left and won't be returning. Hopefully management takes this seriously and addresses it promptl

I'm not sure how long this location has been around, but truthfully I was in the area and planning to go to a different place a couple doors down from here. Suddenly I noticed several folks wearing scrubs stopping in for their lunch break and figured, why not try something new? I'd consider this place a hole in the wall that offers a variety of Hawaiian options! We went for a loco moco and a couple unique masbuis. The loco moco was an outstanding size! Definitely shareable if needed and the masbui was a great value for what you paid for, I can't wait to try more of the different masbuis! This is definitely a gem of a Hawaiian cuisine that is surrounded by several great places for takeout, so if you're in the area, add this place to your rotation of takeout restaurants when you're craving a masubi or some Hawaiian bbq!

It got the job done. I am no longer hungry, but I can't say I particularly enjoyed it. I wouldn't drive across town for this experience. It was mainly fuel. I got the Hawaiian Plate ($17.50), which included Kalua Pork and Lau Lau (butterfish & fatty pork cooked in 2 different types of leaves, like a fish/pork tamale without the masa), plus white rice and macaroni salad. I also ordered a Spam Musubi ($2.50). Total came out to around $23 w/ tip included. The best word I can use to describe the overall flavor of everything was "old." It just didn't taste freshly made. Like it had been sitting in a slow cooker or heating tray too long. It wasn't bright and refreshing. Just tasted like yesterday's news. There were unique menu items on there. I mean, how often do you see Lau Lau on the menu in southern California? But, the food flavor and quality wasn't the best.

So I have gone here since it was L&L... so I suppose I have high standards. I didn't really enjoy this place the last few times but there isn't much choice for Hawaiian bbq in the immediate area.... So I tried again. First- the macaroni salad is HORRIBLE. I always think it's me but it's just terrible and chemical tasting. No flavor. Prob could enjoy grocery store macaroni better. The meat is okay. A little dry. Atleast the white rice is good. Tbh, stick to the musubi. More bang for your buck and you don't have to suffer this horrible macaroni. Only reason I gave 3 starts

Came for lunch. My coworker walked across from work to go to Uncle Fung but to find out they are closed due to unsanitary conditions of the staff. Bummer... so we decided to go to LB Hawaiian. We both ordered mini meals. My coworker ordered teriyaki chicken with veggies, no rice or macaroni. Her portions came out tiny. I ordered the Katsu curry that came with 1 scoop rice and 1 scoop macaroni. I also ordered side of fries and 1 Hawaiian can drink. My meal came out to be $18-$19. I really enjoyed my meal. I get to dip my Katsu in the Katsu sauce and the curry sauce. I love sauce. And it was perfect combo for me. The fries were freshly fried but they were fat fries so I didn't really enjoyed they as much.

    Perfect lunch spot!

I consider this spot more of a grab and go, however, there is both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is very efficient and the kitchen cranks out orders fast. I am a huge fan of their spam musubi, easy on the sauce, and my husband loves their BBQ Chicken plate. Lots of parking, flavors are consistent order to order and the macoroni salad is a must. Enjoy!!

No curry, no solution to the problem. Don't get delivery from this place

What happen to the Musubi? The size has gotten smaller... I came here 'cause the portion was a decent size now it's half of what it used to be... very disappointed.

Most of our customers ask for musubi with easy rice and it is approx. 2 oz of rice less than before. Please ask for extra rice next time when you visit our location. We will be more than happy to comply.…

The food is usually really good, but tonight was an exception. I ordered the brisket and at least 3/4 of the "brisket" was a large chunk of fat. No meat whatsoever. The right side of the full meal is the fat, left is the meat. Mind you, a lot of the meat on the left was fat. I know that's what gives the meat flavor, but you shouldn't be serving that to customers. Don't look forward to coming to eat in person if that is a small glimpse of what it will be like. The only thing I enjoyed of my 3 meats was the brisket(rib tips and pork ribs were dry). The 3 side containers were not full, especially the coleslaw. Come on, slumping on the slaw?! The peach cobbler was just bad. The few pieces of peach inside what had the texture of cardboard was left untouched after two bites. I was just hoping to have some good bbq to end my weekend. It wasn't it.

I originally ordered the bbq nachos and he said the portion for the one on the menu is meant for 2 people and offered a smaller one ( half the price). So glad he did because the half one was plenty. I rather enjoyed the nacho , comes with brisket ( very tasty and tender meat). Fiancé ordered the St Louise rib n meat. He picked brisket as his 2nd meat and his choice of side was Mac n cheese and coleslaw. I didn't try his order, but he said it was all delicious. The "Award Winning Chili" has no flavor, spice or heat. Maybe my expectations are higher since I do smoke meat on my own and didn't know what quality was until now.

Onion rings with the housemade ranch is fire too on the side. Had heard some good things about this spot so decided to stop by with the fam for a random dinner. It's a smaller hole-in-the-wall spot but with lots of open space so it doesn't feel too cramped. Parking isn't necessarily the easiest, but I didn't have to wait, just know most of the street parking is paid M-F between 10am-7pm. (1st 15 minutes is free though). This spot was the perfect blend of order/pay first for bomb food. Service was fast even though it was just one person manning both the cashier and service. Jackie was so great and had a great smile and was so nice to even my kids which was a big plus. I loved the food and it's not like typical "Texas BBQ" which I actually liked. The meat didn't feel overly saturated in fat or greasy but was still so tender. Maybe it's because I'm Asian, but "real" Texas BBQ joints or American BBQ spots tend to feel too heavy for me and I don't feel good after eating. This place wasn't different. The brisket could easily be cut with just a fork and that's solid for me. The gochujang pork belly was better than most KBBQ spots I've tried. and dare I say, I think they had the best tasting fries I've had... like it's hard to explain, but the slightest lemon pepper seasoning with the perfect crisp on outside to potato inside was just so on-point. I had to fight my kids over the last couple fries. Make sure to get the spicy and secret BBQ sauces they have in the center along with purple slaw and jalapeño sides. It complements the meat so nicely. Price is very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you get. All in all, everything is so well seasoned without feeling overly salty with great balance across their dishes. I'll definitely be back.

Smoky, sticky, caramelized to perfection, and layered with a depth of flavor that makes you stop mid-bite and reconsider every life decision that almost led you somewhere else for dinner. The sesame and green onion finish on top? Immaculate. Whoever developed this recipe deserves an award, a vacation, and a sincere apology for how hard I went at that plate. The brisket held its own admirably alongside what was essentially a showstopper. Rich, tender, and genuinely great -- Texas comparisons aside, this brisket doesn't need the validation. It stands on its own. The fries are not an afterthought here either -- crispy on the outside, perfectly soft inside, exactly what a good fry should be. The potato salad with that drizzle of sauce on top rounds the whole spread out beautifully. RibBro is the kind of spot Long Beach needed and absolutely deserves. Go immediately.

I understand that restaurants can run out of items, but I wish we had been told much sooner instead of waiting that long. What makes this even more disappointing is the amount of money we spent, and as you can see from our receipt, we tipped very well. We came in wanting to support the business and have a good experience. Unfortunately, between the long wait, missing food, and the quality of what we did receive, I honestly don't feel the experience was worth the money.
