First time coming here, and it turns out to be a very solid poke place! Lots of parking, in the same plaza as many other other restaurants and stores. Spacious, works for small or big groups. FRESH FISH, clean place, and great lighting. The drinks are also good (guava or mango)! Lots of options from sushi burrito to salmon bowls to poke bowls. 2 options for poke bowl, regular for 9.75 (2 scoops) or large for 11.95 (3 scoops). In addition to the traditional proteins, they also have blazing salmon and tuna luau (so goooooddd!) Unlimited toppings but avacado and egg were extra (worth because the scoops are bigger than other places). Extra scoop of protein is 2$ and only applies to the large bowl. There are also restrooms, yay. But what I'm really here to rave about is their fantastic service. Our server was Vanessa and she was GREAT! She helped my friend and I out with our orders and was patient as we were learning how to navigate through their poke system here. She even offered to let us try their fish before we chose, and was sweet enough to give us a little something on the house! The restaurant itself is very clean and preparation of the food was pretty efficient. The food itself was decent, although the scoops of fish could be bigger and it was rather disappointing that various items (white rice, type of fish, and toppings) were unavailable. The primary issue I have with my experience was the customer service - specifically from an employee named Ernesto G. From the moment we entered the restaurant, this employee made it apparent to everyone that could see him that he was not only unhappy to be there, but unwilling to provide a pleasant customer experience. He was quick to show irritation at us for simply asking him to repeat himself if we didn't hear what he said (an understandable request considering the noise levels and the fact that he is speaking through a face mask). He was very condescending to each member of our party when we stated what ingredients we wanted in our respective poke bowls. Furthermore, he had a terrible, uncooperative attitude towards his coworker on the line as she helped prepare our bowls and when she asked him what size the bowls were in order to ring us up. I can understand the irritation to service customers as they enter a business towards the end of one's shift - however, we entered the business with at least 20 minutes left before closing and ordered within a few minutes. Therefore, his cold demeanor and dismissive attitude was ill-founded. As a first time customer, I was incredibly excited to enjoy some poke with some close friends who have frequented this establishment various times, but this worker made quick work in ruining that. While I hope this isn't my last time as a customer here (especially considering the great work by the female worker on the line with him), I do not foresee myself returning especially if Ernesto G. is still employed there. read more

This place has poor customer service. They got my meal all wrong. First they gave us cold miso soup. Apparently didn't have the soup on heat. Then I asked for napkins soy sauce. Nothing. They charged me for Avacado but I got none. The spicy tuna wrap was falling apart. Grilled salmon wasn't grilled but thankfully cooked. Sub par service. The staff seemed to be more interested in conversing with themselves then their customers. I won't be returning. I was eating there too can't imagine picking up food. God knows if they would have even given me what was ordered. The owner should review what his staff is doing. Quality of this poke place has been going down. The portions of the fish is getting smaller with increased prices. Also, on their menu it states ORGANIC SALAD. However, I saw the worker pour in a bag of salad that didn't say organic on it. So I questioned him and he asked his manager and his manager told him to grab the salad from the other bag which was UNBRANDED. SO SKETCH..... I would say this place is one of the better poke spots I've eaten at around the area. Their fish tastes fresh and they have a pretty good selection of toppings and great portions. I got the regular and it came in the clear plastic container while I saw some people with the regular black bowls, I wasn't sure why though. Maybe because I got half salad and half brown rice? Previous reviews about sauces and customer service and small portions are all true: Ok tasting sauces, though they tend to drench your bowl on the sauce so make sure to tell them not to do this. Salmon was fresh, but other protein choices did not look as fresh. Most sides and avocado were fresh. Rice was older and on the harder side. That shouldn't be served. Other reviewers are telling the truth about meager portions sizes. Not worth the price. Subpar customer service: the general aura of the servers is that you are a huge inconvenience to them. Yelp 100 Challenge 2017 - 9/100 :) ahipoki is quite possibly the only place that I have consistently received great service at. The employees always make an effort to have a conversation with you as they help build your bowl. It's kind of nice after a long day at work where all you're doing is staring at a computer screen in an office with coworkers who are twice your age and don't understand what things like Coachella is and you have to struggle to explain to them what a music festival is but they only look at you like you're a crazy no-good ecstacy drug user and then you have you explain to HR that you don't do any of that stuff and you only just go to enjoy the variety of music.......but I digress. I've always enjoyed my visits here. The employees are sweet and not stingy at all with the fixings. A regular (2-scoops fish) sized take-out option is more than enough for lunch or dinner. You can't go wrong with any combination and you can even ask them to mix it all together for you. Weeknights in this plaza aren't too bad and you can usually find parking right outside the store. My family used to come here for years, the overall experience was good, but only until recently when they hired a new person. We dont know his name but it is an asian guy. He has bad attitude, and gives very small portion than the people who worked there before. Also. the worst thing is he pressures people to tip him. One time he kept our change, and then we had to ask him to give us our change. He then said "oh I thought that was my tip". We have never seen people try to take tips like this before. The more you pressure and force people to give you tip, the less likely for you to get it. Nonetheless, we will not come back until they hire someone with better attitude and better service. read more

I don't normally just dole out 5 star ratings but every once in a while you find a place that deserves it. Poke is what they specialize in, as the name implies but I felt like ordering the unagi or eel. It was amazing! "Fresh and interesting" is what came to mind when I first saw it. As I started to dig into the plate, I felt like an explorer making my way through all the different components and textures that filled this beautifully presented plate. It was Absolutely delicious! One of the only reason I come to this place is because of their ahirrito is really good. Basically it's a poke bowl but made into a burrito version. I love mixing the salmon with edamame, crab Meat, seaweed and onions all wrap into a goodie delight. The place is fairly large and clean. They have restrooms and plenty of parking. Of the many times I've come here, I never had any issues with ordering or with any of the staff here. Their menu offers typical eateries that you would find in any poke place. l haven't tried their poke bowl yet, maybe next time once I can force myself to order something else but the ahirrito. read more

I came here yesterday night and I definitely enjoyed it here! I've been trying to go around 626 to see what's all the good poke shops and this place is really good compared to other places in 626 that I've tried. I got the Regular (2 scoops) one and I thought the portion size was pretty big because I was stuffed af when I left. I believe the Large (3 scoops) one is in the same container as the regular one which I understand would be disappointing to people who eat more. I give the food 5/5 but I give the prices 1 star docked off because I think the prices are alittle more on the pricey side. The fish tasted fresh and the sauces were really good. I told them to make it as spicy as possible and they just drowned my salad in chili oil which wasn't even spicy but it definitely made my bowl really oily. I initially couldn't find this place because I thought it was in the side of the plaza where Banana Bay and TJ Max was but it's on the completely opposite side of it where the Bank and Daiso is. My bowl was quite average, as I felt she rushed through my bowl and forgot to add toppings of my request. On the bright side, Maggie did a great job in providing spectacular service to my friend. She was very patient and added everything my friend asked for in her bowl. She even apologized that we had to wait because she was swarmed with online orders, which was totally fine. Another solid poke establishment in the 626. Heck yes.  First things first, you have the choice of either getting a regular (2 scoops) or a large bowl (3 scoops). Since it was only over a dollar difference, I decided to go with a large. Like all other poke places, you choose your base (white rice, brown rice, salad, half salad/half rice) + fish + toppings + sauces. I decided to go with tuna and salmon with everything including seaweed salad and crab meat. I do prefer their sauces here as opposed to Poke Bar in Arcadia. They are very generous and didn't seem to mind that I asked for an extra side of the spicy house sauce. Ooh, also lots of choices for toppings including pea sprouts, avocado for NO additional charge, edamame, furikake, masago, sesame seeds, etc. The fish tasted fresh and melted in my mouth. Vegetable toppings display looked highly appealing. The workers were super friendly. Overall, I had a pleasant experience here. The place is spacious and looks clean. I was originally going to just get my bowl to go so I can eat in front of my laptop screen whilst watching an episode or two of Friends but the space swayed me into eating right then and there. Aside from just poke, they also have ice cream macarons and iced teas. I tried their house iced green tea and I thought it was good. Nothing to rave about; just your standard iced green tea. I'm so happy that they have a poke place close by home. I dig the poke place in Alhambra, but I was nowhere near there, and the poke place in Arcadia Arcadia was on the opposite side of town too. Also, Chipotle was next door, and it was really sad - such a ghost town. Only had 1 customer ordered something to go... Oh wells... Like any poke place, same setup: Picked Large for Mom and I - it's better to get the large size $9.75 - worth the money, especially, if you're a Poki aficionado who likes to pile on tons of toppings (like me, lol!)... Base: Went with half and half - brown rice and organic salad with no red onions. Protein: Picked a large bowl = 3 scoops: tuna, salmon and albacore. Additional scoops are $1. Toppings: Masago, cucumbers, seaweed salad, crabmeat, daikon, edaname, sesame seeds, crispy onions and roasted seaweed. Sauce: I got sweet citrus and Mom got House Sauce. I liked my sauce - not too sweet or tangy - just right! Mom thought her House Sauce was too salty. I had both our bowls mix the sauce with the proteins. You can have the sauce on the side if you wish. Service: Friendly and attentive. Overall, I definitely see myself coming here again. The fish proteins are big and plentiful.
