CLANG!...CLAng!...clang... The girl who was helping me accidentally dropped the metal salad bowl on the floor. She sheepishly apologized, but I thought nothing of it because that often happens to women when I'm around. A bit flustered, she managed to flash a smile and offered a recommendation about customizing my bowl of poke (Hawaiian raw fish salad): pick half rice and half salad for the base. As bizarre as that combo sounded, I went with it because she was hot. I could pick 2 scoops of fish, yellowtail being $1 more. She was unusually generous with my scoops. She never quite regained composure -- and may even be having an anxiety attack due to my gorgeousness -- because she had to pass my bowl to another girl to ring it up. Cute girl #2 was more confident and, as I handed over my credit card, she smiled seductively and asked, "So, how's your day been going?" I brought the food home. Curious if they used vinegared sushi rice, I tasted a few grains. Their rice alone seemed too hard. However, when I mixed it with the salad and sauce like cute girl #1 recommended, the texture was perfect. Tasty in a mixed-up hapa way. I know cute girl #1 offered her personalized rice-salad tip just for me, so I apologize for my betrayal in leaking her secret recommendation...but it's for the ultimate good of others. I told my sweetie about my positive staff interaction at Ahipoki and she said I was probably hallucinating. "Did you ever stop to think how come it's only hot girls who are flirting with you? This is my second time here and I can say that I was as pleasantly surprised. Me and my fiancé shared a large and that was way more than enough to fill us both up. Got 2 scoops of salmon and 1 scoop of the tuna luau. He always gets brown rice and I always get salad, so we were able to do half and half to please us both. Got the House sauce and the spicy mayo. We topped it all off with all of our favorite veggies and of course added avocado. Avocado is $1 extra. Their drink recommendation was the passion tea and their green tea mixed together. It's so good! The green tea helps balance out the super sweet passion tea. Kinda tastes like a passion fruit agua fresca. Plenty of parking in the plaza! I think they spelled poke wrong... Not funny? JK. A poke place close to home. Pretty bomb. I have to admit that I still feel there are others that produce a better bowl of protein and vegetables but it's pretty good here. The rules are simple. Choose a size, choose a base, choose some fish or seafood, choose a sauce, choose extra condiments and then enjoy. (Of course there is paying near the end of that too) I chose the large bowl with half brown rice and half salad (more like 1/4 rice and 3/4 salad. Then I chose salmon, tuna, and octopus. I then chose the spicy house sauce and asked for the citrus sauce on the side. As for extras, i asked for pretty much everything with requests for extra edamame, ginger, and green onions. More bang for your buck AND I love the taste of all of those ingredients. Also, you can have avocado, crab, and seaweed salad. Yes, ALL OF THEM. No need to make a choice. All came out to around $10.50. Cards accepted for you Yeeps that don't care around cash like me. As for the actual food, the salad felt a bit overdressed. I will ask for less dressing next time or more salad. The rice was warm which I actually enjoyed because it was a contrast to the constant cold fish and salad. The salmon and tuna was not fishy at all, almost melt in your mouth. As for the octopus, it had the perfect consistency. Not chewy but still had a bite. NOM! The side of wasabi was a great as well since I got to choose which bites I wanted the kick. The house spicy was a good blend of vinegar and soy. I liked it over the citrus sauce that I got on the side. All in all, it was pretty good. Pretty standard for poke. I don't know what I felt was missing but I still think there are some standout poke places in Pasadena that I have to compare this place to. Going out to eat poke is my religion. So when I heard about this new poke place that opened up I had to go try it. However, my expectations were shot to the ground. I'm going to start off with the restaurant itself. Beautiful interior, very spacious, and extremely clean. As I walked to the counter to order my food, I asked for a large salad. The guy at the counter looked at me curiously and asked, 'just salad?' As if no one as ever ordered that before. Yes, just salad please. Then as I ordered my fish, I saw just how little fish they give you. I got four pieces of tuna for 'one scoop'. As she poured it into my salad, the fish disappeared and I was just left with salad and a few pieces of fish. The amount of crab meat and avocado they give you is ridiculous too. On top of that, they tossed my salad for me. Now of course this is subjective but never have I gone to a poke place where they toss the salad with the dressing and fish for you. I didn't like it to say the least The toppings were alright, they give you plenty of options. When I got to the seasonings, one waitress told me the girl at the cashier would help me with my seasonings. When I got to the counter, she didn't even asked me and stared at me as if she was just waiting for my money. She didn't seem like she understood what I was talking about when I gave her the coupon for 2 dollars off when that coupon came from the website itself. My food, all in all, was DRENCHED in sauce and was extremely oily. The fish was really chewy and sticky; you can tell it is not fresh. And to top it off, I was left at a poke restaurant eating a salad with fish, instead of fish as the main dish and salad as the base. As a result, I will not be coming back here. Read a lot of mixed reviews on this place but personally I love it! I think it's one of the best poke places in the area. I've been here twice now and both times service was great and the meal satisfied me. The first time I came here I didn't write a review but here's my two cents now! My usual is the regular size with a salad base. If I go regular I get Tuna and salmon and if I go large I might get yellowtail or albacore depending on what I'm feeling. I get all the toppings, the ones they mix into your base and the ones they put on after, and I get the sweet citrus sauce and top it with roasted seaweed! Much yum. Alright so I've read a lot of complaints about fish portion and personally I feel like they give the same amount of fish as every other average poke place, and then there are those ridiculously stingy places. They give an average amount, not a lot and not extremely little either. The fish quality is alright, I think the salmon is probably the best there though! Raw fish and seafood in general has never come cheap guys, cmon be realistic. They are trying to satisfy us the most they can. The fish portions are average but for toppings they are extremely generous so go nuts! They're really nice and they encourage you to feel free to tell them what you would like more of and they remind you that it's free of charge so get that extra seaweed and extra avocado! They have the half and half option, half rice half salad which is great! I don't eat much rice so I don't get it but they give a lot but it's a pretty balanced amount with the amount of toppings on the rice so it's not like you just paid for a bunch of rice. Personally I love the sweet citrus sauce, very similar to ponzu, since I like lighter tasting meals but for those who like something more flavorful the house sauce and house spicy are some of my friends' faves! The spicy has prettttty good kick to it, unfortunately I can't handle. The ambiance of the place is nice, very clean and hipster! I love the walls, the chalkboard look is very cute. There's a good amount of tables. It can get pretty packed during lunch time! It might have been love at first sight, I walked in for the very first time a few months back and could hardly hold my excitement in! The poke team greeted me with so much enthusiasm, I couldn't help but feel like I'd known them for years. The guy serving me smiled at me, and I swear he was smiling straight into my soul! It's as if he knew my biggest weakness: incredibly delicious food. He got started on my meal, which shortly became my order for every visit: -Half and half brown rice/salad, salmon, spicy tuna, yellowtail ($1 more), creamy spicy/house spicy mix, edamame, crab mix, seaweed salad, masago, sprouts, avocado, extra crispy onions, and chili flakes. The fish is fresh and delicious EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. The sauce can't be compared to any other poke place I've been to. The service is truly out of this world. Every other poke place I've been to after meeting ahipoki bowl has always been such a disappointment. I seriously don't even bother anymore. My most recent visits have been extremely disappointing. At first I thought it was just because the workers were new, but the management reduced the servings and started charging for Avocado... $1/scoop is ridiculous! When I come I don't get fish, I only get the Half and Half with crab meat, masago and avocado. With the Poke craze exploding, I was really happy to see one opening closer to my house (I love Spinfish Poke - but I am too lazy to drive up to Pasadena). The reviews were also great so I was excited to satisfy my craving. Thanks to Yelper John T. for the amazing tip of $2 Off your bowl or BOGO. I ordered a Regular Bowl with Tuna and Salmon - added Avocado, Crab and Onion and got the Spicy Creamy Sauce with most of the toppings. First off, the prices are a little cheaper than the poke places I've been to. However, the portions are EXTREMELY TINY. I was so shocked and disappointed by the portion size. The scoop they use for the fish, avocado and crab is just TINY. I got like 4 cubes of fish with each scoop (of course - 1 scoop per fish) and the same TINY scoop was used to avocado and crab. Basically, 3/4 of the bowl was rice. Not only was the portion and ratio disappointing - the taste wasn't great. The tuna definitely was not fresh just by looking at it since it was almost translucent. I would've preferred Yellowtail BUT they charge $1 more - no other Poke place charges extra for Yellowtail. And I was definitely NOT getting the Spicy Tuna as it was probably mashed up old tuna. Salmon was okay, but they didn't skin it well since there was too much grey/brown on it still. Sauces were boring. The Spicy Creamy was basically Hot Sauce with Mayo. They don't even offer a Wasabi based sauce which is what I prefer and other places offer. Pretty good poke fast food restaurant! The price is reasonable and they give you okay amount of food, including sashimi (they cut the fishes into small piece but they still give you enough, wished was a bit more). The spicy house sauce was tasty with a small kick. Depending on the time you get there the seating and parking are limited, but if you're going after lunch hours, you can find this place pretty slow so you'll get your food right away. There were only 2 people taking your order We were lucky and got there early enough, after we ordered our food the line started to grow longer. So make sure you come early if you wanna avoid the lines. Atmosphere is decent, clean, not too noisy plenty of seating (when you go early). They have all the utensils and water cups available for you to grab without asking the staffs which is good. If you never had it, is worth trying! read more

OOOOH YES I have finally found my favorite go-to spot for poke!! I've been here a few times already and every time I stop by I find more and more reasons to love this place. I always get the regular bowl with brown rice, two scoops with salmon mixed with house sauce and spicy creamy, and finished off with their delicious toppings! The service here is always so good and one of the girls even recognizes me whenever I go in so it makes me happy that they know who their regulars are :) Shout out to the awesome guy who gave me an extra scoop of fresh salmon from a new batch because I got the last bits of the previous batch of salmon, you the real MVP :') Try this place, it will definitely not disappoint and leave you coming back for more! Came back because I loved the portion sizes. Not so much today. Bought two bowls and the portions of fish were ridiculously disproportional. One bowl the rice was pretty much covered with fish. The other had next to nothing and I was charged the same price for both. You have got to be kidding me with that portion control. Don't know if I will still be a repeat customer. i was invited back by the owner of the restaurant to give it a 2nd chance so i did. I went on a weekday during lunch. Parking was crazy. Even though there was a line out the door, their service was quite fast. I ordered the exact same thing so that i can compare if there was any improvements. I also got it to go as well just to be consistent. This time the rice is still warm and soft. The fish remained at a cool temperature. However the House Sauce is still lacking flavor. BUT i did get a side of Garlic, Soy Sauce and Mirin sauce on the side and i ended up mixing that sauce into my bowl in addition to the House Sauce and it tasted much better. Therefore I highly recommend their new garlic, soy, and mirin sauce for your poke instead of their House Sauce. Even though this experience is much better than the previous, it still wasn't SUPER great. However, this doesn't deter me from coming back again. I will revisit, i just hope that this restaurant will listen to their customer to improve their food. I do not wish to see this place go away and get dominated by "pokilicious" that is opening soon across the way. read more

Whenever I'm in the area, this is my to go to poki place. I've been here a few times already but I keep forgetting to write a review till now. We came here on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. Every one serving us was really friendly and attentive. I ordered the white rice with 2 scoops of spicy tuna and house spicy sauce. For toppings, I got the cucumbers, seaweed salad, and crab meat. The portions are by far more than any other places I've been to. Even though the scooper is small they give you more than the size of the scooper. If you want more of the toppings, you can simply ask and they will add more. The only thing I had a problem with while eating my bowl was the amount of sauce they gave me. They put a little bit too much of the sauce and the rice became a bit soggy. When I finished my bowl, there was also a lot of sauce at the bottom of the bowl. Usually it's not like this, but for some reason it was today. I definitely recommend giving this place a try. I went with half brown rice half salad, and got salmon and albacore. The sides that come after the fish are all included in the price, so add on as many sides as you want. They have 4 sauces to choose from, and they let you sample it! I went with spicy creamy sauce and the citrus. If you're going to try this place bring a friend because for a short time they offer a buy one get one free coupon AND a $2 off any purchase coupon you can find online! Basically you choose a size: Regular or Large size (the difference is either 2 or 3 scoops of raw fish). Then you choose between white, brown rice, salad of half & half. Their raw fishes are the typical yellowfish, tuna, spicy tuna, salmon etc and then you add extra toppings such as avocado, edamame, seaweed, imitation crabmeat. I ordered a regular half & half with spicy house sauce and tuna/salmon with avocado, crab meat, seaweed for about ~$10. To be honest I really couldn't taste the "spice" nor the sauce-.- the rice was semi-hard and dry. Soft, fluffy white rice is a biggie in my book so that was a complete bummer-.- Overall, the presentation and the taste didn't wow. Service: First of all, cool and adorable staff. Being an uncharacteristic asshole, I walked in a minute before closing and the guy welcomed me and told me to come on in as he was getting ready to close up. The girl and the other guy were helpful and helped me pack up a great poke salad to go. When I joked I might stay, they said I was welcomed to since they needed to do clean up for the night anyway. I wanted to wipe the smusch off their faces and give them all a big fat good bye hug but they ended up with extra 2 dollars in their tip jar. Food: pretty good for the most part. My two minor gripes: Hamachi is $1 extra. :( Other poke places don't charge extra for specific fish but will for avocado and seaweed. My bigger gripe is their house dressing/sauce is way too salty. Please pull back on the sodium. It's still edible but it's hard to not think of the poor souls who can't intake this much sodium. The next time I will try another sauce but definitely not doing the house sauce again. I am really happy this place opened as I don't need to drive to Pasadena for a poke bowl. This place is getting better and better with every time I come :) Employees are friendly (how did they recognize me?!) and the portions have gotten much more generous. It is apparent that the owners have taken the customers' advice and tips and have genuinely tried to improve their establishment--with positive results! Fish is of great quality (though scallops are strangely super dinky...still good though!) and sauces are not overly drenched--pretty spot on. I've been resisting the poke (po-keh) bowl craze until now. For me, poke has always been the old school Japanese/Hawaiian version with ogo seaweed, sea salf, sesame oil, shoyu & wasabi served in a huge bowl at family gatherings. Not bad, not great. The fish are fresh enough and the brown rice was nicely doused with a hint of sesame oil. The sauces are limited and needs more of a tweaking. I got the sweet citrus sauce but there wasn't a citrus note to it at all. In fact, it tasted like teriyaki sauce. The hot chili oil has a good heat so my friends who are sensitive to spicy foods should beware. There is a $2 off coupon on their website that is good until December 31, 2015. The amount of food is good for the price. The small bowl with two scoops of fish is $7.99 and the large bowl with three scoops of fish is $8.99. If you want yellowtail, it's a $1 more for the replacement. There is also sliced octopus, ahi tuna, albacore, and salmon. For my large bowl with yellowtail, my total came out to be $8.72 with the coupon. Snag it while you can. :) This place is in the Guppy House & Applebee's plaza on Rosemead Blvd and Las Tunas. Stopped by right before going into work to get a poke bowl. I think everything tasted great. The only thing was that the proportion for the bowl seemed off. The crab meat and avocado was about a quarter size each, so it felt like I had about Half a bite of each. Towards the end of my bowl I didn't have enough fish to eat with my salad. I'm going to safely assume that since it's a new place, they're still in the works of getting things down so it's not too big of a deal. All of the employees were extremely nice and warm. I was greeted by everyone I came into contact with. I would definitely come back here periodically just to see the progression and improvement. Ahipoki bowl is ONE of the BEST poki places I have tried in the area! I found this place on yelp and the pictures immediately got me hooked! The staffs here are also very friendly and nice. They recommended me what sauce combo is best with my poki bowl. Out of all the poki places I have tried by far, Ahipoki HAS to be my FAVORITE for sauces. It stands out from all the other places I had. To begin, I'm giving this place a 5 out of 5 because they provided satisfactory service, quality, and portion size at a low price. *Value: A large "bowl" is $9.75 and comes with 3 scoops of fish of your choice (Yellowtail being a $1 upgrade). These scoops are not mediocre, as compared to another place I went to... they were kind enough to give me one FULL scoop per fish selection plus a few more cubes in another scoop for the same fish. If you look at my attached images, I took the liberty of measuring a sample of each fish. The average cube size was about 0.65 inches. Additional scoops of fish are $1.50. Unfortunately, you are only given one side for free. Sides include: avocado, imitation crab meat, and onions. Each additional side is $0.75. That being said, there are numerous toppings and sauces you can choose from which include jicama, wasabi, seaweed, Daikin sprouts, tamago, etc... *Taste: In my opinion, something as simple as poke bowls can only be highlighted by the sauces offered. I ordered the House Spicy sauce-- which I believe provided good flavor-- but I could have used more sauce. There really isn't much else that makes one poke bowl at one place taste better than a bowl elsewhere. You have the same base ingredients and only the sauce/marinade to differentiate them. *Location: This place is located in a busy plaza with lots of parking. However, all the spots were designed for tiny cars. If you're not driving a clown car, good luck getting in because the drivers in bigger cars will be taking up 1.15 spots leaving 0.45 spots in between them and the adjacent car. Every time I've been coming, seems like the quality of service is going down. I ordered last week for pick up through their website. Assuming that they saw what I wanted in my order -- wrong. The sauces weren't right and the toppings and fish wasn't even what I wanted. Yesterday, I called in and the lady that picked up my phone left me on hold for 5 minutes while I was listening to their whole conversation. She just forgot that I was on the phone. Food is good though but ordering online/phone is a headache. My patience is running thin with this location. I might just try a different place if this happens again. read more

I'm so torn. I like the place, it's in my local area, and I'm a fan, but it could totally improve. So let's say 3.5 stars. I'll try again later. Tl;dr it's ok for poke fix if you're nearby and there's many food options in this plaza. I went on opening day and I concur: the scoops of fish are smaller than other poke restaurants I've tried, the sauces are bland and watery so they don't really stick on the fish but end up on your rice or salad, they don't have many sauce options, the spicy tuna was "different" tasting, the quality of fish is ok (some were "less ok" than others) and the regular bowl overall is small. BUT the price of the bowl is less than those in Pasadena by $2-3. So I do feel like it's worth it because of the location, the price, and free (limited) parking. Plus you can get boba, chipotle, Starbucks, sandwiches, ice cream, or chicken Katsu if you want. One neat thing was they have lots of special toppings which others have listed and taken photos of. Coming to this restaurant, I kind of had high expectations since I heard and read mostly good things about it. Plus I was also happy to hear that you get $2 off (thanks tiffany!) as part of their December special. However, in the end, I was a bit disappointed. Ahipoke is located between Chipotle and a tea shop in the shopping plaza with Yoshinoya, Guppy House, Daiso, Ono Hawaiian BBQ, etc. I was happy to hear that a new poke place opened here mostly because it was near my house. The interior is very clean and modern with a cool black and white decor on the wall. It was a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be. Lots of space to sit and move around. Like most poke places, you basically get to choose anything you want. They have two sizes: regular and large. The regular is $7.99 (2 scoops) and the large is $8.99 (three scoops). Not bad. Then you choose your base: white rice, brown rice, salad or half and half. Then you choose your side: crab meat, avocado, or onion. Then you choose your fish: tuna, spicy tuna, salmon, albacore, shrimp, octopus, yellowtail ($1 extra), and jicama. Then you choose your sauce: house sauce, house spicy, spicy creamy or sweet citrus. Lastly, you choose your toppings: sesame seed mix, masago, crispy onion, ginger, green onion, wasabi, roasted seaweed or everything! So basically you got lots of options to choose from. I got a large with brown rice, avocado, crab meat, onions, salmon, tuna, albacore, house sauce, green onions, crispy onions, and ginger. Clearly I love my onions haha I do commend the restaurant for having so many options making it very customizable but I feel like the portions they give you are small. The scoopers were so tiny! Especially when it came to the fish ( which is the most important part), I barely got any fish with the tiny scoopers they had. I could tell the person was trying to put more fish in that tiny scoop but that won't help when the scoopers are that tiny. The salmon pieces were also smaller than the rest of the fish. I wish they were as big as the tuna. I was surprise on how little they gave for the sides and the toppings too. I ordered a large which was definitely enough for me but I just wish I got just a bit more of everything! It was good, but just wish It could've been better. I'll probably give this place another shot since it's close to my house and price isn't too bad. They also sell ice cream macarons ($3.50), fountain drink ($1.99), bottled water ($1.99) and ice green tea ($2.99). read more

I was so excited to come back and have poke here but it was a letdown. The very small portion I got did not justify paying for a large. The taste of the house sauce and citrus doesn't have any flavor and was very bland. Protein choices were also limited. Would go somewhere else for poke. read more

UPDATE: I stopped by around noon to grab a Poke bowl. The place wasn't super crowded for a Grand Opening but they had a pretty decent amount of customers. I've been on a poke hunt around the SGV area and I'm glad one opened up near home in addition to PokeStuf (Alhambra) and Pokiholic (MPK). FOOD: I got two large (3 scoops) poke bowls. One Tuna and one yellowtail. The size of the fish cubes were HUGE! Bigger than most places around the SGV. Large was about 8.99 and the smaller portion (2 scoops) was 7.99. They have a variety of toppings to choose from free of charge. As for the sauces there are four choices. I got the House Spicy. It was a little big spicier than mild (maybe because I also got a scoop of spicy tuna) but it was great. The only downfall is that their scoops for the crab meat and avocado was too small that I had to ask for double (which still wasn't enough). Personally I rather have had slices of avocado than scoops. Maybe more selection of sauces too? But overall I'd give them a 4/5 for their poke bowls. SERVICE: Everybody was very nice when it came to creating my poke bowl. I did not have to deal with any bad attitude. Friendly environment overall. However the girl behind the counter probably should make the poke bowls a little faster because she was taking her lovely time. But hey, I can't complain. It wasn't TOO busy but if it was, she would have to work way faster to get the line going. 4/5 PARKING: This plaza is known to be a little overcrowded certain times of the day but there should be plenty of parking since it's a pretty big plaza itself. LOCATION TIP: It's located right next to Chipotle and across (ish) from Daiso. Overall I had a great experience here. The bowls were great for the pricing and the food is great! I'd definitely recommend all you poke fiends (just like myself) to try this place out! ---- i'm a big fan of poke bowls and I came across this place one night. I realized they had a "NOW OPEN" banner so I decided to try it the next day. When I stopped by, the sign changed from "NOW OPEN" to "COMING SOON". The owner was outside and I asked him if they were opened yet & he told me that they were going to open the next day and that somebody made an error putting up the "OPEN NOW" sign. He was very nice though and said that they'll be open for sure on Friday. First time here and I see why there are so many great reviews. The staff was so nice and eager to explain the process to us. I loved that you can see everything prepared right in front you. Especially beneficial for the germaphobes. With the protein and rice, it's definitely a more filling meal than I would have expected (there goes my plan to get ramen afterwards). I'm not complaining though. How often do I get to feel full yet not comatose after a meal? Rarely. I could definitely get use to this. I just wished this place was located right where I work. Parking in this plaza is absolutely horrendous, but this resturant makes it worth it! The workers are fantastic. They're extremely kind and patient yet fast. I came here on a Saturday during the lunch rush but waited less than 5 min to get served. The resturant itself is very clean, and the portions are huge. Definitely get the large (it's more worth it) I love that they don't charge extra for avocado or crab meat. This is my favorite place to get poke. Granted, I only select salmon when I get poke, but each time I've visited, it was delicious! They have plenty of other fish selections. I always try different sauces when I visit, but my go to is always the house spicy. I like the variety of toppings they have and the portion size is decent. It's not overload that will make you feel stuffed, but it's not too less that you're still hungry. I've been eyeing this place to open for a bit until I finally heard it opened, yay! I quickly grabbed my other foodie friend to come with me to try and off we went. Between Tenju's and Chipotle, this plaza is welcoming such great additions so close to my home. Upon entering, I was surprised at how spacious this place was compared to all the other poke places I've been to. I ordered the large bowl ($8.99) that comes with 3 scoops of fish as the regular bowl comes with two scoops. Like most poke places nowadays, it's a DIY style as you go down the counter and pick what you like. The base options were white rice, brown rice, mixed greens or half and half --typical. I opted for white rice as I wanted a classic poke and didn't care for the healthy option today. I was very glad I paired the rice with the spicy house sauce since it left the bottom of my bowl quite oily, so at least the rice soaked some of it up. The spicy house sauce is a soy sauce based with chili oil and I enjoyed it a lot. As a spicy lover, I added an extra pump of chili oil in mine. It was definitely spicy, but exactly the type of kick I look for in my food --yum! For my protein, I got two scoops of tuna and one scoop of salmon. I felt like the scoops were very minimal and I didn't get much fish out of it as the chunks of tuna were huge. The rest of the toppings are typical and the scoops were very tiny in my opinion. (But I hear you can ask for more, so maybe I'll do that next time). Another poke spot, nothing too special and nothing too disappointing. Since this is now the closest poke place to me, I'll probably be coming here a lot more often. But for the price, it's slightly cheaper than the rest, so yay! read more

I liked it. I am not a big fan of poke as I prefer my raw fish served as sushi than in a bowl, but I decided to give it a try with coworkers. I tried the regular size with tuna and shrimp along with an assortment of veggies and masago. I opted for the wasabi citrus sauce. I appreciated the supply chain approach where you get to choose the carb (base), fish (or other seafood), veggies, and sauce. I found the wasabi citrus sauce a bit bland, but I sampled the house sauce from a coworker and I liked it. The house sauce is sesame oil with some sweet components. The tuna tasted fresh. Overall, I liked my poke experience here at ahipoki. Came here on a weekday for lunch and service was fast. Prices are reasonable. read more

3 stars for fresh fish and generous portions. For then fish...I really enjoyed the tuna luau. But other than that the sauces were average. Simple, traditional but lacked depth. A huge plus is the ice cream macaroons....that they rarely sell at restaurants besides kbbq spots. The parking lot was very crazy busy. So be prepared for that as well! Definitely the place to go if you like simple sauces and for their fresh ingredients. But I do prefer the new pokelicious spot across the street for their flavorful sauces and very fresh fish. Poke places are popping up in every corner, and my bar for a good poke bowl is raised. The reasons for my 3 stars review are absent minded server, small scoops/portion and inconsistency. To start off, I had to repeat my order to my server for an excessive amount of times at each station (base, fish, toppings). It was frustrating when she seemed completely lost at the word "albacore" and could not remember a simple order of all toppings except ginger. The amount of toppings I received was measly and inconsistent from bowl to bowl. The bf also received some icy tuna in his bowl which made his experience not too enjoyable. Since they are still new and getting up to speed, I'd be back after a while and update review accordingly. read more

The portions are quite small for the price you pay. The bowl was half filled with rice instead of other hearty ingredients. Service was pretty slow as well. I came during lunch with a line of under 10 people. The servers took their sweet ass time and we waited about 15 minutes just to get our food. Other poke restaurants are much better in terms of food quality and speediness. The fish was pretty good, but they don't give enough sauce so we had to dose our rice bowls with a good helping of soy sauce to give it some more flavor. With the growing popularity of poke, I would not recommend coming here as there are better options out there. Pokinometry is still the best that I've had and ahipoki does not even come close. The only benefit of ahipoki is that they have more seating and it's not that crowded. read more
