As a matter of fact there was a misunderstanding in the quote as I thought it included new ducts, but it did not. But James replaced for free due to the misunderstanding on my part. He did not have to do that because it was my mistake in communication. Prior to that I had 2 other hvac systems installed by another company. So I called that company that did the install to repair one. Within hours of repairing one hvac, the other failed. So I had to wait over the weekend for them to return to fix the hvac and on Monday my schedule. Then I decided to use Richmond Air for the repair. I only would be at my house from 8:30 to 10am due to a departing flight. I called Richmond Air at 7:30 AM on Monday to see if they could send someone to my house within the hour. The owner, James showed up with a staff member. So the other company's staff accidentally let out my Freon. James called the company and explained the mistake for me and arranged for them to replace my Freon for free. That is honestly and great customer service. He could have replaced the Freon and charged me, which is expensive and let me figure out the situation with the other company. So that deserves my business and yours. Trustworthy, competence and great pricing. I hope this review helps you select Richmond Air.     The one-star review is not alone. We are SO DISAPPOINTED. This is a company we've been loyal to for…read moreyears- annual contracts, done lots of work in the past. Unfortunately that is past. They no longer care about the small residential customer no matter how long we've been loyal to them. Our home a/c stopped working on Wednesday. They did send out the service guy Manny who just kept saying how "we should have bought the extended warranty service contract when we bought the new system in 2020 and so even though the part is under warranty their labor is not and wanted $2800.- for 4 hours work plus the refrigerant! I asked for an itemized bill SEVERAL times and never got one because they were severely OVERPRICED. I shopped @ and got two offers- one for a thousand dollars less and one for half the price- from companies that weren't afraid to itemized their charges! Also they said it would be a week for the part. As seniors in the Texas heat that is absurd! Other companies took the extra effort and got the part in a day and installed it before our elderly bodies were melted into the walls. Remind me why they never offered a senior discount or even honored the 10%labor discount our contract said we have. Not a word. I hate to write bad reviews but this one is important for people to know if you are not a commercial contract no matter how loyal you have been they will no longer provide good customer service and will severely overcharge. Look elsewhere!! There are other local a/c repairman companies to do a great job at half the price and even provide friendly customer service. NOT AT WEEKS.

    We have been using Weeks for years. In the past they have had knowledgeable technicians. Although…read morehigh prices, their quality was high. This was until recently. We purchased our Daikin HVAC system from Weeks and have been doing the twice annual maintenance checks. This should have increased the lifespan of the unit to at least 15 years. Well, after 7 years the unit stopped working. The service check had been conducted a month ago with no concerns. Weeks did send out a technician same day. He said there was a leak and the coil needed replaced. He did not know why it failed "they don't make them like they used to". The parts were under warranty but the labor was not. Labor was $2,800 for a 4-5 hour job. They called back the next day and said the part was on back order and would take a week. This is Houston! A week with no AC is a death sentence to the elderly. No itemization was given when asked for. The tech told us several times we should have gotten the extended service warranty when we purchased the system (I know, helpful guy) We started to shop around and found Weeks was double what the industry standard was for the job. I call then to ask why and was told management would contact me. After 24 hours I called them back and said cancel the job I'm going elsewhere. I received a call within the hour from management. He justified their price by stating it was a lot of work submitting the warranty. When I told him what other bids were and they were over priced by at least $1,000 there was no comment. He was supposed to offer 10% off labor as we were currently enrolled in the service maintenance agreement. Nothing, zip. No understanding. This company is resting on past accomplishments.

    I had Ruben (a guy with knee problem and a limp) come over to check a condo HVAC. He suggested a…read moretakedown of the entire system from the ceiling to determine if there was a Freon leak (found none, but charged me $500 without a receipt). He then proceeded to the roof (where the compressor is) and determined that the capacitor is bad (changed). He also said that there is a leak, as the Freon was empty. We had set the next day for his next visit to fill the system with Freon and add a dye (a leak detector), but did not show up after multiple calls. Got a different company for a recheck. The Freon was full, and there was a fuse removal/disconnect (in the control box next to the compressor) that was obviously done by Ruben (no one touched the system since the original installation). And guess what: the system fired up once the fuse was connected, and started cooling like a charm. In summary: Ruben obviously tampered with the power supply to make it look as if the system was dead. There was no need for take down of the coil cover to check for leaks, there was no leak, and the Freon was full. The guy is a liar and a fraud. Don't let him get close to your house. If there was an option for negative stars, I would give him - minus 10.
