About a week ago right before this heat spell our Air Conditioner quit working. I requested through YELP at 4:00 am expecting a call back around 8:00 but to my surprise I received a call back within 15 minutes and had an appointment that same morning. Two service calls later due to the age and diagnosis we decided to replace the entire system. Of course we had many questions and Nathan had all the answers. Unfortunately, this company fell short in several areas where a professional business should not. After some simple work was completed by their technician, Gordon, I asked if he could replace a shower vent fan. I was told it would be a quick and easy fix. Nearly a year went by without the job being completed. Despite numerous attempts to follow up, I was repeatedly told things like "I'll get back to you tomorrow," yet I never received a call back. I also contacted the company directly several times so they could reach Gordon and have him call me, but that never happened either. In the end, I hired another company who handled the issue professionally. They came out the following week and completed the entire job -- parts and installation -- in a single day, with no runaround. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company to anyone who needs work done within a reasonable timeframe or has any type of deadline. The lack of communication and follow-through is disrespectful to customers who are trying to give them their business. read more

Please don't do company with this business!!! They are horrible! Online they advertise a 15% off coupon. When I called I asked if I could have this discount. The lady responded yes. A technician named Gordon came out on Wednesday and Thursday to diagnose. On Wednesday they said depending on what happens Thursday the cost to repair would be $500-$600 (refrigerant only based on how much was needed). Or up to $1,500 if TXV value. On Thursday they told me it would cost $1,800 for the valve and coil and refrigerant. I asked if they had any other deals. As I'm a single mom on disability. He said they could do $1,600. This was still more then the $1,500 they said the day before. He wanted to scheduled repair for Friday as he said it would take 2 men 2-3 hours. I told him I had a procedure and wasn't available Friday morning. At this point I hadn't received anything in writing. No quote no nothing. This is a licensed and bonded company. I told them possibly Saturday morning as I had to look at my finances. He called me Friday and I was leaving my doctor appointment. He said his technicians needed to come over and start repairs today. I said ok. I asked the first guy Cesar that showed up for documents of repair he said the other technician had them. Never again saw the initial technician Gordon. I asked Cesar after the work was done what it was. He said it was the txv valve and they completed the work in less than an hour ans added new coolant but didn't need to change any coils. Another technician whom I had never met said I owed $1,600. I told Gordon's son he had quoted $1,500 on Wednesday for this type of replacement asked if I could have the 15% off listed online. He said yes and then charged my credit card. It wasn't until I saw my posted credit card post that I was charged $1,580 a charge I didn't agree to. I've asked Gordon to since adjust the charge to include the 15% discount on the $1,500 price I was charged which I received the following threatening emails. He also said the coupon didn't apply to the work that was performed even though the coupon didn't indicate which repairs were or were not covered. This is known as a bait and switch. I'm addition thr attic space was above a closet. He didn't cover the clothing nor was I asked to remove it so now I need to get my clothes professionally cleaned because they are soiled as a result of their neglect in protecting my property. I asked about this and this too hasn't been addressed. I also asked him for my paperwork to prove work was done and Warrenty information. His said he would email it to me later that evening (7/21/23) but as of today I still haven't received anything. Even after asking for information in writing I've not received any. I sent an email as at this point I wanted something in writing. As of now I still haven't received anything in writing, indicating what was done or if the work was guaranteed (but at this point I wouldn't utilize the guarantee based on owners response in emails below). Don't use this company unless you want to be taken complete advantage of and be threatened as seen below. I will be contacting the California licensing board and an attorney to address. It's crazy they are threatening my house when they charged me a value I didn't even agree to on my credit csWow These people. I wouldn't trust such incompetent bullies with anything of mine. I needed to replace the heater at my mom's house that was original (1961). I had gotten three bids before calling Total Home Environment. The bids were all about the same, but there was always something off, like I was being taken advantage of but I couldn't pin point it. I called Total Home and as soon as Gordon walked in, I knew there wasn't going to be any upselling or treating me like a damsel in distress. He looked everything over, went into the attic and walked the perimeter of the house. He gave me a quote, gave me a realistic start date and timeline. All of it was done just as he said. The best part was 2 weeks later when I had a new tenant move into the house, he was there when I needed to address a ridiculous concern they brought up. That's service! I would totally recommend Total Home Environment due to their knowledge, honestly, promptness and commitment to their customers. read more

During the heat wave the A/C in my business office went out. I had my handyman take a look and he assessed that it was the fan motor that blew out. Being that my handyman isn't HVAC certified I got in contact with this company and was assigned to Gordon to whom I explained the issue with the unit. The next day, Gordon arrived, and the first thing he asked me in a condescending tone was, "Why didn't your handyman fix it?". I replied, "He isn't qualified to". So Gordon proceeds to diagnose the unit and tells me that it needed a compressor to proceed and he'd come back the next day to repair it because it was so old and he needed the part and I needed to get clearance from the owner of my business building. Since the heat was so excruciating, once Gordon left, I had another HVAC certified representative come and inspect the unit and he guaranteed me that the only thing that was needed to repair it was the fan motor. With that being said I group texted the owner to my building and Gordon letting them know the outcome. Gordon never responded to the text, however, he did come the next day with 3 different fan motors, never speaking on the compressor, only to find out that none of them fit and he had to order one that was specifically appropriate for my unit. It was the weekend so I had to wait until the next week for the part to come in. Once the part came in, Gordon did come and replace the fan motor and things were back to normal and I was pleased. I continuously thanked him and literally walked on egg shells in dealing with him because day by day he was BEYOND rude in his tone to me and it was also noticed by my clients when he was visible. A few days later, I received a link to post a review of services rendered. I didn't go into complete detail, however, I did state that I was very pleased with Gordon getting me back in working order, but, I didn't like how I was treated by him with his bad attitude and dismissive disposition when I tried communicating with him. Continuing on 3 weeks later, (today), Gordon called me and chastised me about leaving that review about his behavior. Being that I was doing business with a client, I couldn't respond to him, and mostly because I was caught off guard with him not only calling me, but talking down to me as if I was his child. Nonetheless, I called the company and explained the situation and the woman that I'd spoken to was very apologetic, welcoming, and comforting, which I greatly appreciate. Lastly, I don't want to bring bad news onto this company as a whole because I did appreciate the service, however, Gordon's aura is not a good representation of the professionalism that I'd expected and him calling and verbally attacking me today took the cake! read more

Semper Air- sent me a salesman not an AC man. Nex-gen- was close but cost and scheduling was my determination but to be honest You were the runner up. Other no name locals- cost and did not offer monthly financing Finally I found Total Home Environmental Online and decided to put in my info, within hours I talked to Gordon Brown and explained my situation what Was wrong with my original AC system and that I wanted a good and efficient new system. Within 2 days Mr Gordon shows up looks things over gives me the run down the truth and not needed extra mumbo jumbo everyone else was trying to blow up my ass. Plus he found a way to get me financing that's was a plus, he got me the best furnace, coil, duct and AC unit. he did the job exactly as we talked about he was going to do right way as the installation process is key to any new system not just the equipment. he and his team completed this in one day, total tear down, he had a great crew very nice people answered all my crazy and possibly annoying questions , learned a lot about HVAC, and what can I say from start to finish I can thank them enough I was also given 2 year maintenance with my unit but I will most likely extended that just to be sure this new investment last for a long long time. I hired this company to do my brand new air conditioning and heating 1 1/2 years ago, when I called to do maintenance on it, they set up appointments and nobody shows up on 4 scheduled appointments. I kept asking for the city permit and all I got was stories after stories. I decided to to get a copy of the permit from the city to find out it was never filed, I had to get my own permit and inspection, 7 corrections needed to be done. I sent the info to the owner and what I got was " we did everything right " if they had, no list would have been given for corrections. I regret to have hired this company. Sales pitch great, costumer service ... the worst. I'm not happy with their service. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

I knew the heat was coming and wanted to be sure my house (old cottage from 1924) would be cool for myself and my cats/dog/bird. Someone on NextDoor recommended Total Home Environmental and I called them. Within 48 hours I had a dual-zone mini-split system installed and running! I am thrilled with the system and hope the after-sales service will match the quality of the installation. Gordon, the owner, explained this mini-split system to me and he was confident I would be very happy with it. He was right! my Hvac that apparently is a very complicated system to set up due to its zoning system was not workign properly. I called nexgen out and they came in saying it would cost $2500 to replace it and start all over or it would be $215 per hour for a technician to try to figure out what the problem is. My home is on sale, and apparently the inspector had accidentally pulled out the wires connecting the modulator and shorted the transformer and consequently the modulator which then affected the zoning system. MOreover, the memory of the zoning got erased. Gordon brown helped me to solve this very complicated system. spent hours on the phone w honeywell and was able to get it fixed in 3 days . He worked hard at it, kept me updated as to what was going on.. and never gave up.. guaranteed me that he would get to the bottom of it and have my system up and running again. I am thankful for his knowledge, patience and hard work. He charged me more than 3 times less than Nexgen and spent hours on it tryign to figure it out.. Had i gone w/ nexgen.. i woulda been 2500$ out or several thousands if i chose to go the hourly route. Gordon was a very honest man and did not raise the estimated price, despite the amount of time he spent. it cost me $688 vs $2500!!! I highly recommend Total Home Environmental. I contacted HomeAdvisor dot com and send my request for A/C repair. HomeAdvisor supposed to send me one on the list which have no stars at all. The gentleman named Gordon called me right away late in the evening. I told him that evening is that my A/C run but have no cold air. I also told him that my daughter said the smart Thermostat said out of refrigerant. Mr. Gordon came the next morning before the 10 am appointment in an old van with no company logo whatsoever and no uniform of the company. He wore an old mask and no shoes cover walking straight inside the house. I showed him the old A/C unit in the backyard. He opened the unit and checked said -- your A/C is out of refrigerant -- it gonna cost me $1700 to refill only 10 lbs of refrigerant when my A/C required 15 lbs as it said on the unit. I wonder if he remember what I said to him last night before he coming out for service. He went on about the cost of the new A/C system when in fact I only needed refrigerant. I came to work and finding the invoice from Mr. Gordon. The invoice said $11,460.00 amount due. It said ac not cool $69, completely empty of refrigerant $69, York Guardian R407 condenser $ 4,711.00, Goodman GSX14060 with matching evap coil $6,611.00. I called him right away said that $69 for coming out to check and $69 for no refrigerant. He then resent me a new invoice removing the $69 for no refrigerant. He said he will send me brochure to my e-mail when I asked him this morning and he have nothing on him. I would not buy an A/C unit without heat for this $11,460.00 No thank you to HomeAdvisor also. I can only describe this company as HONEST, KIND, and RELIABLE. I'm a single mom of 3 and it's been very tough for us these past few years. I needed to find an AC company that I could trust and afford. They were God sent! I typed in AC repair near me and they popped up and they were the first one that caught my eye, so I called late at night and thinking it was too late I hung up. Much to my surprise I got a call back. A lovely and kind woman helped me schedule a service call and took the time to hear me out and ask questions. My AC fan was working, filter changed, coils cleaned but no cool air. The next day a nice kind gentleman calls me to tell me his estimated time of arrival, he shows up, finds the problem and fixes it. He changed the Capacitor. He was honest, kind and God sent. I would recommend this company to anyone who needs anything done. My kids and I will forever be thankful and grateful for their honesty and kindness.
