Air-Zona kept us updated as to when the tech would arrive. Our technician, Miles, arrived on schedule and performed a thorough inspection of both of our heat pumps. He clearly communicated his findings to us. There was no attempt to upsell or to make mountains out of mole hills. He simply inspected and made a minor correction to a drain pipe that was misconfigured by our original installers. We felt that we received a thorough and proper inspection of our systems which was well worth the $99/unit fee. Most importantly, we trust the technician and will be having our units serviced by Air-Zona regularly going forward. I would never use this place again. Ernesto was the guy doing the repairs and he was great. He gets 5 stars. The company gets one because none was not an option. You charged me 90 bucks to come out and take a look. Fine. Then you charged me another 75 bucks to come back out and install a part. You ESTIMATED the job would take 2 hours at 300 per hour. You sent me an ESTIMATE, not a flat rate cost. He got it done in 1 hour, and still charge me 600. Total 675. If it's a flat rate, then say it's a flat rate. Don't call it an estimate, because estimates are not carved in stone. Complete bullshit....and highway robbery. I have no problems paying for services, but don't screw people over. Very recently I contacted four air conditioning contractors to obtain proposals for the replacement of our two central central air and furnace systems. I was immediately impressed with Air-Zona - the knowledge and personality of Garrett, their representative; the detail of his written proposal; and the solid, excellent reviews of the company. I was also leaning towards the American Standard brand for which they were dealers. I selected them at a price that I felt was reasonable in view of their excellent Consumer Reports ratings of American Standard among 22 brands. Also, Air-Zona included additional warranties that most companies do not offer. On the day of installation, the company informed me of the guys and their expected arrival times. All three guys were professional, diligent, and courteous!! Thanks to Joe, Ian, and Orlando! And, to my surprise, their service manager showed up to make a final review of the project and to ask if I had any questions or concerns. Keep in mind, that we are located in a small town, about 40 miles or more from their office. I purchased a home in North Scottsdale in July and after having a pre-purchase home inspection performed, I contacted Air-Zona after the close of escrow and move-in for an air conditioning check-up. The Air-Zona technician found a clogged pipe in the drainage system of the A/C. Unfortunately it was causing some flooding and damage to my bedroom closet floor that was not found by the home inspector as I believe it was covered by clothing. More recently I was experiencing some issues with the wireless/remote thermostats in our home. I phoned Air-Zona customer service and explained my dilemma. The customer service representative was very helpful and she suggested George as the Technician to come out and troubleshoot our issue. The CSR was correct, George was as promised and he's been to our home twice to repair/replace my thermostat, even taking the time to suggest less expensive options. If a company is only as good as their employees and their values, Air-Zona is a great choice and George is a very valuable team member. Woke up this morning to a 91 degree home. Called Air-Zona, they had someone out in 45min. took about 2hrs to fix, the cause of my a/c issue was unbelievable, so the tech took many HQ pictures to show me. It iced over. I was shocked. I *rarely* write reviews. But during the past several years I've had issues with a couple other HVAC companies -- and both companies were word-of-mouth referrals from long time acquaintances of mine. The issues were from the other HVAC companies trying to up-sell for additional services like "compressor saver" (wanting to charge $250 for a fluid additive) or quoting a 5 ton replacement unit for a 1800 sq ft house). Air-Zone is *honest*, "fast* response time, and they stand behind their work. No B.S. What a refreshing experience. Forgot to add: There was a recent need to replace a "defrost" circuit board. Love these guys --- One of their technicians (I can't remember his name!) recommended a temperature schedule for my programmable thermostat, I thought he was crazy (74 degrees at night time during non-peak APS times...what the what?). I have been running it 2+ full months and I'm here to tell you it absolutely works, my a/c bill is less but I use more Kilowatts but less during on-demand. They were right! So now at night I am bundled up, which I love. I even checked Aug 2018 against Aug 2019 on the APS usage history and it does not lie, avg temps were the same for both, apples to apples, 31 days in cycle, apples to apples. Air-Zona has been our choice for yearly inspection and maintenance needs for our gas-pack, and evap cooler, so when we decided to replace, we asked for a quote. Their initial quote was, essentially, sight-unseen, and included a lot of worst-case scenario items. However, when Pat came out to inspect the existing system, he gave us a revised bid of around half the original, as all of our ductwork is in good shape, and he advised that we did not replace the evap, but only replace the wet side, representing a significant savings. We were very pleased with the cost, and the technicians who removed the old unit and installed the new. The new system creates a marked improvement in our home's air-conditioning, both cooler, and much quieter. I would recommend Air-Zona without reservation. George came out to see why my fan on one of my units wasn't working and he replaced the motor and he then need a complete check of the rest of my unit and also found that the Capacitor was also broken and fixed it as well now my unit runs like a champ. Last night on one of the coldest nights in the Valley in my recollection (and I was raised here), my heater bit it. When I woke up this AM it was about 55 degrees in my house. I called George at 6:30 and he was here at 8:00 and had it fixed almost immediately. He didn't try to tell me something terrible was wrong and I needed some expensive fix. He merely reset what had tripped and vacuumed out all the dog hair. Sigh. He is awesome. The bill was quite modest, as well. I can't recommend this company more highly. read more

Patrick the guy that gives quotes already seemed very reluctant to come to the house to see my AC situation. we finally made an appointment and then he called earlier to try to come before I could go to the house at the time we planned. I told him that unfortunately I could only make it to the house the time we had scheduled and he gave me a bit of an attitude over the phone. I canceled with this company because of his attitude. I let the lady know when I called. She was listening to me but then she was condescending and talked over me at the end of the phone call. So they don't seem to care if they have an attitude towards us customers. I reported it so that they would know but I don't think she appreciated the fact that I was honest about my experience with Patrick. He kind of has an attitude about showing up at your house and getting things done the way he needs them to get done. And again, if you report to the lady why you are not going with the company, she will talk over you and condescend. No thank you. If they are willing to be like this with me, they will be like this with others. I really don't care about their response (if they even bother to write one) and based on how I was already treated, it won't be respectful or caring. read more

I was referred to Air-Zona by two friends who use them. I have absolutely no complaints with them. They worked with my schedule to arrange a basic tune up for our AC unit. It was a non-urgent situation. The tech arrived on-time, a few minutes early actually. He made some recommendations on the inside of the home for optimizing our system and then up to the roof he went. Came down with tons of info about our unit. Did not make any outlandish recommendations for spending tons of money on it. The service fee was reasonable and he was done in about 30 minutes. I hired Air-Zona Air Conditioning a year ago. They told me to replace my system. I hired another company for second opinion. They were able to fix it for 1/20th of the estimate Air-Zona had quoted. I wouldn't call this company back or any company that suggest replacing my system. I suggest you do the same. Just because we live in the Phoenix heat doesn't give them the right to take advantage of us. Integrity will always earn respect and repeat business. I am well pleased with this company. They put in a new AC in April and did a great job at that time. I recently had a leak in the bedroom due to the Monsoons. I thought it might have been something not caulked when the AC was put on the roof of my home. I called and they sent out a young man who went beyond what he was probably suppose to do. He re-did the sealing spots around the AC, plus he also did the air vent and something else on my roof. I am so happy with the kindness and professional job these people do for this company. It had been a few years since my A/C had been serviced and we all know in the AZ heat that can lead to bad things. I also noticed that my overflow was dripping so I needed to have stuff checked out. I called George at Air-Zona and he setup a service call for a few days later for something that fit our schedule. Daryl showed up promptly at our scheduled time and got right to work. He cleaned out the drainage line, did a thorough check of both A/C systems and explained in detail what needed to be replaced and why, and even showed me first hand as well. He also added Freon to both systems as needed and brought them up to spec. He was even nice enough to talk to my home warranty company on the phone and have them approve some of the replacements that I can submit for reimbursement to help me save some money. Afterwards, he was kind enough to answer some of my questions regarding my thermostats, adding an extra vent or return in a bedroom and the types of air filters that would be best suited for my system and needs. I have used Air-Zona for a few years now. They have installed new registers and ducts and fixed our AC a few times. They are amazing and always go above and beyond. When we needed to replace our coil they ensured we got the best price and the total came in less than what we agreed to pay when they did the estimate. We are new to Phoenix and were referred to Air-Zona by neighbors to have our AC maintenance done in the spring. George came out and quickly took care of everything including replacing a couple small parts. While he was there, I asked about cooling our SW facing garage so I could work in it year-round. Scheduled a site visit with Pat G, and he gave me a couple ideas on how that could be done. He also noted that if we tried to cool the garage without insulating it as well, that would be inefficient and costly. We discussed attic, wall, and garage doors insulation ideas. Finally decide on installing a mini split system in the single bay of our garage. Since the attic over the garage already had some insulation, I prepped for the install by adding reflective insulation in the 3 garage doors. That brought the temp to below what it was outdoors, but when its 117 and the sun is beating down on metal doors, its still too hot. The AC install was scheduled for 5:30 am. Pat, his team and Adam the electrician were right on time. The crew worked for hours to get the job done before it got too hot in the day. They even bought us lunch, which is a first for us since we normally provide lunch to most contractors that are doing work for us. Everyone was professional and friendly, and after they left my garage cooled down to 80 degrees in an hour. The system is working great and we could not be happier with our new garage space. We even had Adam (from Arizona Electric) come back again and do some extra electrical work for us. Air-Zona was recommended to me by a friend. I am very impressed. My air conditioning quit over the weekend, and I called and asked for someone to come out first thing Monday. (They would have come out on Sunday, but I wasn't going to be home anyway.) Daryl showed up right on time and looked over everything. I'm not a review writer, and have never written a yelp review, although I check yelp anytime I need a home service. I'm making an exception to tell everyone how amazing Air-Zona is! First, the background: We moved into our current home about a year ago, and added an addition. The general contractor is OK, and noone I would refer anyone to, but they used Air-Zona as their sub-contractor to put in our new duct work and AC unit. From that very first day- these guys were courteous, professional, and did a great job. A few months back, I was having trouble with one of my existing AC units- not the new one Air-Zona put in. Anyway- they came out to check on their unit, and fixed the problem with my existing unit for free. I didn't ask them to- they just did it for me. Flash forward to today. We came home from a 2 week vacation at about 12:30 pm, and discovered that one of my other existing AC units wasn't working. I actually have 8 days left on my one year home warrantee, but called George at Air-Zona instead. He called me back in like 3 minutes- to tell me a tech would be here in an hour...which they were. Shane and Daryl showed up- courteous and professional, just like everyone else in this company. They diagnosed my problem, explained what they did to fix it, invoiced me for a very small trip charge, and my AC problem is solved. Since it has been a few years since I've updated my original review, I felt that I should based on recent experience. My family has continued to use Air-Zona over the years but generally only sporadically, for maintenance and such. Our a/c unit was 16/yrs old however and we knew the day was coming we'd have to get a new one. A week or so ago we started experiencing issues with the fan not shutting off properly and the unit overheating. We had the guys out and opted for a semi-pricey fix in lieu of avoiding replacing the unit. Less than a week later something else went wrong and that repair would have been cost prohibitive. I leave this updated review because in and around all of that activity, I had to reach the guys on a Saturday morning (when they are on-call only) and they still had someone out within an hour. When we started experiencing issues the 2nd time, they came out the same day we called. When it was determined we were going to have to go with a new unit, they credited us almost half of the initial work we took a chance on to avoid the cost of a new one. We worked with George as it relates to going over all of our options on a new unit including sizes, costs, pros, cons, etc. We were able to make a decision and schedule the installation for the following morning. As (bad) luck would have it, the unit went completely out in the middle of the night prior to installation day. There was a crew of 4 (including both owners) that worked from 7am-12pm to complete the whole operation in a fast and efficient manner. Obviously having to buy a new a/c unit is not cheap. However the honest customer service and timely manner in which the entire company worked with us and followed up on every single one of our needs speaks volumes of their professionalism and desire to keep your business. They called two day before and made the appointment to come fix my AC- they said a technician will show up between 12-4pm and they will call on they way to let me know when they are heading to my house. The technician called me 3 times in 1 min the next day and then left a message saying they cancelling since I didn't pick up my phone. When I called back someone who was very rude said they have a policy that if you don't pick up they cancel your appointment! They do not tell you this on the scheduling call. Imagine in Arizona heat with two kids on we weekend and these heartless people just cancel your appointment! Do Not Use Them! read more
