Love this basic and beautiful in its all American diner way. No frills of fancy menu specials of fusion between American and other cuisine of other countries. While would be as big as a house if I ate here everyday. It's a solid breakfast or lunch that is affordable and good. What more do you want?

We were exhausted and disheveled and in an unfamiliar area of the country, and AJO CAFE was the BEST thing about that day!!!! The food was DELICIOUS and Max was AWESOME. Customers and staff all seemed to know each other, and that was such a great thing to behold. Thanks for being so kind to us out of towners!

French toast special that comes with eggs and hashbrowns, my husband ordered chicken fried steak and we split up the biscuits and gravy.

If you're looking for an amazing breakfast that tastes homemade and a restaurant that takes you back to the old times this is it! We came here on a Tuesday morning and it was a bit busy but we did not have to wait for a table or wait long for our food. Our waitress was super sweet and she told us the restaurant has been open since 1952/53 and it's family owned for 3 generations. I loved the ambience. Our food was so good. We also took home some pecan pie and it was a hit! We will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend

We don't get to this side of town often. Because of the gem show, we had to detour to get to the restaurant, but it was very worth it. It's an old-fashioned cafe where the locals know each other, the servers hug and you feel comfortable striking up a conversation. There are several tables, booths and seats at the counter. They have breakfast all day and lunch starting at 11, plus daily specials. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs, and the Hubbs had the turkey meatloaf special. It came with clam chowder which was very good. Both meals were generous portions and fresh-made. Service was excellent. We will be back!

Chicken Fried Chicken, comes with eggs, home fries, and toast. (Other combinations available, this is just what I chose).

This place is super local. We were on a golf trip so when we walked in ready for golf it was like everyone else was on the set of Landman, which is to say, this place was awesome. We were seated quickly by the staff who were very friends and very fast with service. I had the chicken fried chicken which was excellent along with coffee and OJ. The ambiance isn't upscale as I said earlier, but if you're looking for a great local breakfast spot, you cannot go wrong. I rate places based on what they are and for this little local cafe 5-stars. You won't regret a visit.

This diner is Down from the VA hospital. I' m early for a appt. I went country, chicken fried steak and eggs and gravy n toast. It was pretty good but I expected more at the counter. Had to wait on coffee. I might come back for the Mexican breakfast special. Road house decor. Friendly waitress.

Don't let the building fool you. We stopped in for breakfast. The food is delicious and the waitresses are efficient and delightful.

My iPhone says they are open today (Saturday) until 1pm but my mom's google phone and Yelp say they're closed. I called to check and no answer. I'm wondering if they expanded hours due to Gem and Mineral Show to be open Sat?

They are not open on weekends and if they do not answer the phone, there are no expanded hours.

Nice restaurant. Been here a few times, some with colleagues for lunch…read more Food is good. I've had a variety of things, some Mexican dishes, some American. Did a breakfast once. I wouldn't say that it is top of the line cooking, but it is very delicious and definitely worth a visit this side of town. Parking can be a little challenging, they do share a parking lot with other businesses, but close in, there are not that many spots. Service is always friendly and makes you feel comfortable. Interesting atmosphere with flamingos galore and other things decorating the inside. Gives it somewhat of a party and fun feel. Food comes out in a timely manner even when they are very busy. Prices are reasonable. Give it a try, I think you'll like it. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!
