Omg!!! Breakfast hole in the wall heaven!!! My husband and I were leaving Costco and he was starving so of course we Yelped somewhere to go....and this was the closest breakfast place!!! Real diner food! The kind of place the waitress will call you "sweetie" and watch for refills on your coffee and tea like a hawk. This is real down-home good ol' cooking. The outside of the building doesn't look like much, and inside is simple and small with tables and some booths. The food deals are very good. I've been here twice, the last time a year ago and most recently in February with my dad. The liver and onions I ordered (don't gag.. it's delicious!) was tasty, with excellent gravy and mashed potatoes and a side of carrots and peas for $5.99. My dad had the meatloaf special and seemed to enjoy it, and they brought him a salad beforehand too. We got free refills on very delicious ice tea. They serve breakfast all day (open until 2) along with lunch and there are specials to keep an eye on the whiteboard for. I'm eager to come back for a sandwich and a burger and try a soup. The breakfasts look well worth my time and the prices fit a tight budget. Last time I was here my dad and I both had pie- it was home baked I believe. They were advertising banana bread as well. Yum. I really enjoyed this little cafe across the street from work today. I visited this establishment during lunch with a co worker and had a grilled cheese sandwich with a side of French fries. Everything on the menu was decently priced, the food was delicious and is somewhere I'd come if I was missing home for too long. The service was really fast which I appreciated. On my roadtrip across the US, we stopped in Tuscon and was recommended by a local to try out this place. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but the food was really good! It is basically all your homemade comfort foods. Prices weren't too bad either, considering the very generous portions. Me and my brother live down the street and wanted coffee and breakfast, and he found this spot on google maps. You can barely even notice it from the road, I would've never noticed it and I am very familiar with this area. I am so glad we found it, as this is the only place we will go from now on if we ever wanna go get breakfast!! He got chorizo with eggs, hashbrowns with cheese and toast. I got chicken fried steak with the same sides as well. The fried steak shocked me, it was so light in color like they usually aren't, it is so rare for somewhere to actually change the oil regularly and fry with new oil! So amazing, and the gravy and other stuff all was so great, and they had sourdough toast that was great for it all as well. The coffee and rootbeer was also tasty. I tried his chorizo and wow, some of the best I have had outside cooking at home in such a long time, I kept trying to steal more of it lol. Everything was very affordable too, and I'm excited to try more as the whole menu looks amazing. The restaurant was very cozy and quiet, we went on a Monday around 11 and it was mostly empty and very comfortable. The server was super polite and attentive also. All around a great meal and experience, and I look forward to coming back soon and many times after that, definitely a hidden gem in a part of the southside where we don't have a huge selection of restaurants within walking distance. read more

Food was good. service was horrible , ask for a refill on coffee and never got it had to get up and ask for it as I paid for my bill. they fill the cup half way with regular coffee and poured decaffeinated coffee in the rest of the cup and asked is that ok , after they already did it. Also had to go outside and get phone from my car. my girlfriend stayed inside waiting on the check and they were looking at me as if I was walking out on the check " eat in run " . The outside looks like it's in shambles, maybe some old timey jail or something but the inside is quaint and had someone that reminds me of my grandmother as a waitress. While ordering, it was asked if we could have something added to the order and were told, you're paying for it you can have it any way you like. Now that's some service. The food was delicious and inexpensive too. Fair warning, this place only takes cash though. That should probably be updated in Yelp. As an avid Mexican food fan, I found that the chorizo was bland. Had to add about half a cup of Cholula just to give it flavor. The beans needed salt. Service was average. My Coworker had the corned beef Hash and said it was a little bland,not much flavor to speak of. We were referred here by a colleague and sad to say we will not return.
