This place used to be good, but since they have hired new workers it has completely gone downhill ( quality and sanitary). I came to order pizzas; two gentleman were working this day but only one was making the food... the other worker charged me and came back to sitting at the tables doing nothing. The one worker preparing the food was finishing up serving a large family that came in before me so the service was quite slow. By the time this worker got to preparing my pizzas, not only did he not wash his hands, he also was not wearing gloves and proceeded to toss the pizza dough with his dirty hands (he previously had been touching to-go boxes, opening doors, moving dirty kitchen utensils, and picked up a dirty scrub brush off the floor). I politely asked his coworker to tell him to remake my pizzas wearing gloves. The worker making my pizza then told me that he did NOT need to wear gloves because the pizza was being "cooked"... I could not believe what I heard, and to top it off his other coworker that wasn't doing anything informed me that other establishments in the area also do not wash their hands or wear gloves while preparing food.. WHAT?! The worker grudgingly remade my order wearing gloves, and before I left he told me to not leave a bad review!!! This practice is unacceptable, and this will be the last time I order from this place, which saddens me because their Hawaiian pizza is the best I've found in the DC area. read more

My family and I stayed a week here a block away and once we had their food we kept coming back. It's good, it's plentiful, it's inexpensive. And they really do care about service. You can tell they're trying to please you. What more could you ask for? I sound like a paid advertisement. But let me give you an example. I saw the chicken on their rotisserie and I asked for a sample. He cut off a good 5 to 7 mouthfuls, cooked em up for me and I choked down. I've spent literally hundreds of dollars ordering from here over the last few months, but after tonight, they won't see another red cent from me. After placing an order on Postmates, I opened up the bag to see that for the *third straight time in a row,* my order was wrong. Not like, wrong sauce included wrong, but two of my three items were missing and replaced with the wrong entree wrong. Considering how often I order from there, I called the restaurant to get it fixed and spoke to Mohamed, who said he was the owner and that he packed the order himself (this is important). He told me to cancel the order (lol, hard to do when the food is already here) to get my money back and reorder. I asked him to send someone out with the correct order and he said he wouldn't have a driver for an hour. Exasperated because I was hangry (I ordered from there because usually they're fast and cheap and the food is pretty damn good when they remember not to put onions on it per request and I can actually eat it) and I didn't get the usual credit from Postmates to verify that the ticket was resolved, I let him know that this was pretty terrible customer service, to which he replied that *~I was a pretty terrible customer~*. Not today, sir. NOT TODAY. First, "sorry" would have gone a looooooong way to resolving the situation or at least not stoking the hangry. Second, as often as I order from there (average probably twice a week at this point), an extra freebie would have been awesome or some sort of store credit. Throw in a piece of baklava. An extra order of friggin chickpeas. Something. Third, don't try to blame this on the delivery service. They didn't make the food, they didn't pack the food, so if you screwed up, say you screwed up and apologize. He even had the nerve to say he didn't even know what I ordered (after I told him right at the beginning of the call). On God, I have overlooked so many things (the pizza I got from there a cpl of orders ago was so bad, I thought the meat had turned) because I wanted to support them, but this was the last straw. I think the gyro/lamb plate was good, but I think I got a higher quality plate from places like DCG or Halal Guys that serve similar types of meals. Well, the delivery was on time, and everything arrived hot. The wings were solid -- nothing special but not bad either. The pizza, which was supposed to be oil and garlic with three cheeses topped with oregano, to which I added pepperoni, was just cheese and a few pepperonis. No oil, no garlic, no oregano. Needless to say, it was tough to eat, even though it arrived piping hot. Pepperoni was good, though there wasn't enough of it, and crust was so-so. I came in and purchased the medium pizza and canned soda special. A few minutes later, I noticed the amount I was charged significantly more. When I returned to pick up my order, I asked for my receipt and the person said no. The person who took my order couldn't explain how the amount was almost double. He had to call another call over who introduced himself as the owner (I don't even believe that was true). Turns out they were trying to charge me for additional items that I didn't order. I believe they were just trying to pocket the extra money. They initially refused my refund. We've eaten from here around 8x since the time they opened and the food has only gotten better. The za is v good and the salads are really good--fresh chunky veggies. And if you get it topped with meat--the portions are generous. Gyro's delicious, so is kubideh... Haven't tried the chicken yet. If ya get a salad, don't bother getting dressing because their homemade white sauce is what you want. Falafel and fries great v good. You can never go wrong with Aladdin's Kitchen, especially late at night--it's always the move. The food is phenomenal, staff is very friendly & takeout is always a breeze. I'm a longtime fan of anything with their falafel (it makes a perfect pizza topping), but just recently tried their cheese steak for the first time and, as a harsh cheese steak critic, it knocked my socks off. One of the best cheese steaks I've had in the area, can't believe I didn't try it sooner. 11/10 would recommend. It's such a good portion of meat, excellent ratio with the cheese, fresh veg, and delicious bread, but what really sells this cheese steak for me is the meat; it's cooked to juicy perfection. I couldn't help but nearly inhale it in the second bite. Definitely give the cheese steak a try if you haven't already & are looking for a sandwich/meatier alternative to pizza. Well, my experience was pretty awful. I stopped in for a slice of pizza or two. Pizza by the slice is supposed to be cheap and quick. Well, this was neither. I was the only person ordering, and there were three guys behind the counter, all looking at me in my suit and tie. Yet, no one spoke - until a Middle Eastern fellow walked in after me, when they asked if they could be of service to him. After he left, not finding what he wanted, they turned their attention to me. This is my 4th time ordering pizza for delivery from Aladdin's Kitchen. I usually order 2 large pizzas with pepperoni and Canadian bacon. My family loves the pizza, especially my kids. It's always fresh, we like the dough (it can be a tad bit greasy-fine for us but maybe not for others) and they include garlic sauce with the pizza (). Usually, the 2 large pizzas only last 1 day because the kids eat it all! Cost is reasonable and food always arrives on time.
