We scattered to grab some food while in the Western Market, I picked Capo. I am attracted to Italian subs so when I saw that on the overhead menu, that's what I ordered. My order taker / sandwich maker got the job done. While it wasn't the best sub I've ever had it was pretty good. This Capo Italian Deli is a small place with some common tables in front of the business.

The sub was great and you can't beat the price either. The bread was fresh and ingredients all tasted amazing together.

I finally got my hands on a FAUCI POUCHY! PASSIONFRUIT MARGARITA - tequila, Chacho, passionfruit, mango, lime, agave, spice (I'm sipping this one as I type. Woo, Chile!) THE ORIGINAL - vodka, elderflower, mint lemonade, grapefruit OLD FASHIONED (not a pouchy) - Bourbon, sugar, angostura and orange bitters I was in the area and decided to grab some boozy sip-ups TO GO. Threw them in the freezer as soon as I got home. I couldn't wait for some slushy goodness. Will be back soon to check out a few of their cold cuts, hot subs, and desserts. __ IG: @f.hux I #yelp and I know things. Sm California Cheesesteak

GW students are blessed to have so many options to eat so close to campus! I ordered the small California cheese steak and was shocked at the size because it was bigger than I thought it would be. This is a definitely a nice sized portion for lunch. The California cheesesteak comes with the lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. The sub wasn't the best cheesesteak I've had, but it did the job. If the steak was seasoned, the sub would be a 5/5. The sesame bread is def a nice added touch. Great customer service and I would go back to try something different.

I placed an order via UberEats for a small meatball parmigiana sub. The sub was delivered timely but it's missing marinara sauce. Just a dry meatball and cheese sub. Tried calling Capo and was the lady who answered the phone was initially dismissive. Kept asking if I'd contacted UberEats. I explained my issue wasn't with the delivery but with the food. She spoke to a manager who questioned my claim because the meatballs are supposed to be in a container with marinara sauce. I was also told to contact UE for options. No offers for resolution!

I went to the Capo Deli in Western Market. It was very clean and staff were very nice. I'm from Jersey so I've had my fair share of Italian Subs over the years. This sub was good, but I wouldn't say it's one of the better Italian subs I've had. The bread was very good and so was the meat, but I felt there was something missing even though I added some mayo. When I first bite into an Italian sub I get an immediate taste of the oil and vinegar while also getting those sharp onions into the mix. I didn't get that with this sub. Overall a good sub.

    Small spinach wrap

One of the best delis around! I am not a huge sandwich/deli person, but I really enjoyed Capo. I ordered my own small spinach wrap with honey ham, capicola, provolone cheese, sweet roasted peppers, sun dried tomatoes, onions, lettuce, mayo, and honey mustard. I don't know if the combination was just superb or if the deli is just great, but it worked. They weren't shy about putting in a lot of the ingredients--very generous with the amount of meat. I especially loved the sun dried tomatoes and sweet roasted peppers, it's worth the extra charge. I only had half the small wrap and it filled me up. Definitely going back!

Excellent sandwich. Crispy bread. Lots of great options. Service was a bit spotty. In a great location for GW.

They operate a deli counter in the front and a bar / speakeasy in the back. You can rent out the bar space for private events. Last night, we had the space (and a bartender!) to ourselves, along with 3-4 different types of sandwiches. There is something SPECIAL about their seeded Italian bread. The perfect flakiness and texture. I enjoyed the chicken fontina and Italian. The caprese was my least favorite--not sure if they use a balsamic or what, but the flavor wasn't coming through. Before I left, I decided to order a large chicken cheesesteak to take home for lunch the next day. It was a bit of a risk to order a hot sandwich that I would have in the fridge overnight but I heated it up in our air fryer/toaster oven for all of 10 mins and the bread was good (not soggy) and the sandwich itself was delicious. I enjoyed it so much, I didn't stop to take a photo until the last bite :) It's a decent size sandwich--I ate half for lunch (along with my own chips and veggies) and have another half for tomorrow so while it's not cheap, I think it's reasonable.

The worst part is they charged me nearly $20 for that abomination. What a rip off. I thought they were decent pre-covid, but apparently they just don't seem to care anymore. Other places make loaded sandwiches... save your money!!

I didn't want to eat at the hotel, so I checked my Yelp app and saw that there is a sandwich spot nearby. I decided to walk a few blocks and try it out. I was glad I did! It's a very unassuming place where you can sit down and have a lunch or dinner or you can get it to go. I decided to get mine to go. I was greeted by friendly cashier. She asked if it was my first time there and I said yes. She explained how the ordering process works and explained a little about each sandwich. I decided to try the RBG, which was $18. I believe all sandwiches are $18. I was a little surprised by the price, but I wanted to try it. The RBG is delicious pork sandwich with coleslaw and a soft, yet crunchy bread. Don't get me wrong. I am not a crunchy bread sandwich type of girly. But this bread was just right for this sandwich. I had the ability to eat the entire sandwich with the bread not becoming too soggy and falling apart. The pork was tender and flavorful, the slaw was crunchy and tart. It was a wonderful combination. The only negative thing that I have to say is that it is a really large sandwich! So, make sure you bring a friend to eat the other half...so you won't be tempted to eat it all like I did!
