What a shame!! I loved this shop under the previous owners. Unfortunately, since new management took over, my experience has been incredibly frustrating. More than just disappointing service, I feel disrespected. I have been told I would receive a call back in "5 minutes" and did not hear from them for days--repeatedly. Their repairs took over a week longer than the estimate, so David offered to cover the extra week of my rental car. A month later, I had still not receive a credit, had to call NUMEROUS times, and received the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have never written a negative review, but this is truly unconscionable. It seems like these guys want to do the right thing but are in over their heads. They seem very nice but then do not follow through. It's really too bad. Please, do yourself a favor, and take your service anywhere else. read more

I had a problem getting rid of screw, when replacing my license plate. The screw were rusted in and had been stripped when I initially tried to remove them. I came here hoping they would remove it for me. Their initial attempt using a a power drill failed, but they didn't give up and took my car in the back where they were able to remove the screws. They did all this for free, sure it was just a few screws, but these guys really helpful and awesome. read more

Of the three estimates I had done for the cosmetic damage on the front of my car (low-speed collision left the front paint scraped and cracked and maybe damage underneath), this one was the one in the middle. I don't have any way of telling how good their service is, but they seemed to have a fair amount of business. They seemed very professional and it appears they are well trusted by the long-timers of Alameda (several old-timers came through picking up their repaired cars while they were doing my estimate). Although I never followed through and got my body work done here, my totaled Volvo slept in its garage for the better part of 10 days and I was in contact with Brandon. Brandon went pretty out of his way for me, answering random phone call questions, in person questions, the like. He did a walk around of the new car I got and gave it a thumbs up---for a guy who knows body work, he was able to point out what parts of the car were "factory" and which were "replica" based on the carfax history. I didn't give these guys a single cent and he accommodated me through my fears and agony of having to replace a car. That's class. I couldn't even drive it away due to a dead battery, but Brandon predicted that and brought out no less than two jumper batteries. They were the more expensive of two quotes, but who pays out of pocket 2x their car's blue book value to bring a car back to life? I might. Highly recommended. Absolutely the best auto body experience I have ever had. I was recently in a minor accident and took my care into AAB, since it was covered through insurance. Being new in town, I wasn't 100% confident in the shop, but I figured we would give it a shop. I got a call from Brandon the day after dropping my care off, and he explained that the repair was going to take about a week longer because one of the side panels had to be replaced. While it was inconvenient, I super appreciated him reaching out to me, and he continued to provide updates to me throughout the week. When it was time for pick-up, Brandon did a walk-around with me to make sure everything looked good. The repair was flawless. And I also noticed he had gone out of his way to buff out some really awful scratches on the hood due to a carwash -- I literally almost cried. I don't live in the Bay and my insurance Allstate wanted to send me to Service King (a chain). But I did my research and thank goodness I did. I told Allstate I wanted to try them instead (Allstate is pushy about using their chain Service King because they have a contract..don't fall for it!) I was SO glad I chose Alameda Autobody. First, I had my car parked at another body shop. Brandon set up a tow within 2 hours and the towing company guy was super nice. I sat down with Brandon and and he was very friendly and informative. Here's where the real goldstars are deserved: Brandon worked with me and my mom (co-owners of the car) for almost 2 months during a "struggle" with Allstate. We weren't sure if we were going to keep the car or have it fixed. He still did all the estimates, answered all questions, and never lost patience. He was always professional and friendly. He called with updates frequently, and was incredibly thorough. This guy takes customer service to a new level. I finally did have the car repaired and it looked beautiful. One month later it's running great. Brandon and his shop were the best autobody experience I've had. Dealt with Brandon recently due to my car being truck rear ended in front of my house. The amount of damage was very questionable, because a lot of it is Nader the car and cannot be seen unless the truck was lifted or taken apart. Of course the insurance company would only pay for what could be seen unless taken to the shop to get it fully worked on. Brandon was very understanding and thoroughly walked me through everything step-by-step. In the end my truck ended up being totaled and not just partially fixed up, which I was what I initially was going to do. He also didn't charge me for the labor that it took to take apart the truck for the insurance to look at and was able to have insurance to cover that bill. I took my 2002 BMW Z3 in to have some restoration work done on the car recently. This company is outstanding in every possible way! The owner, Kevin takes a personal responsibility with the work that is performed. He has earned numerous certificates for high achievement in his body work. They replaced front and back bumpers and taillight. The car now looks like a new car. Back to me promptly and super clean! To go even further, they gave me a ride back to my home and picked me up when the car was ready. Another personal touch. But the list goes on. Yesterday I was taking my Z4 into AAB to have some damage work done. A neighbor of mine had backed into my left hand side panel of the car while parked on the street. I was only one half block away from the shop and they heard the crash and came running out to assist. The entire staff David (the manager. who is just amazing and kind), Lisa, Diana and others were so sympathetic taking care of me with sincere concern. I know nothing about cars - I'm trying to learn because I refuse to be a stereotype! However, what I do know is that these guys are great! I've taken my car here twice now to get my passenger windows fixed. They are fairly priced - I think they even offer a discount for locals? They are incredibly accommodating: they let me leave my car overnight for two nights while I was out of town, even though they got the work done in a day. And they are all very friendly (if you need a ride to and/or from your home they've got you covered). They even washed my (disgustingly) dirty car... which deserves five stars in itself. David and Dianne are amazing. I walked into the car shop clueless on what needed to be done to my car and right as they were closing, David was kind enough to look at it and warn me that my car was not able to drive due to the tire being very bent. I didn't plan on going through my insurance because I figured the fix of the tire was going to be inexpensive but David recommended I did in order to get everything that needed to be fixed (including the body of the car), fixed. I am so happy I followed up with his recommendation because I left with my car looking brand new. Dianne is lovely.
