    Pesto Chicken Sandwich

I stumbled upon this cute cafe and I'm not disappointed! Service is very fast even on their rush hours! I decided get the pesto chicken sandwich on a french roll it wasn't dry whatsoever it was delicious that I had to come back again!

I LOVE Alamo Square Cafe! When I ordered at the counter, the staff was so nice and friendly. It was a very chill and casual energy, and they had a delicious variety of sandwiches and coffees. I ordered a dirty chai latte, which was so yummy and not milky at all. I also ordered a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel, and they hand delivered it to me steaming and toasty. It was perfect - the cheese even stretched in strings like those amazing grilled cheeses. There are plenty of outlets, pretty artwork, and of course the location is stellar. The WiFi is quick as well. I cannot recommend this place enough.

We stopped in to the Alamo Square Cafe before heading over to see the Painted Ladies on Friday. Every seat was filled, and for good reason! We had a short wait to order, but service was super friendly, and with only 2 people working, I thought it went quickly. I ordered the Pastrami on a Dutch crunch roll with provolone. This sandwich was HUGE and so so good! We also split a chocolate croissant that was as big as my face, and I also had a yummy matcha latte. This seems to be a pretty popular spot, and I absolutely recommend grabbing a sandwich and walking up to Alamo Park to enjoy it! Next time we're in San Francisco, I'm definitely coming back.

hidden gem with HUGE sandwiches and so much filling encapsulated in thin, crispy dutch crunch rolls. the zebra mocha was also delicious--not too sweet and the espresso came through strong. would definitely come back to try other drinks and food

We loved this cafe!! It felt like a down home, local, family spot! We only had 1 day in SF to explore, so we thought we'd grab some sandwiches and enjoy the painted ladies for lunch. We ordered the salmon sandwich and grilled chicken sandwich. While it took a few minutes for them to be prepared, it was definitely worth the wait!!! These sandwiches were so fresh and delicious and easy to take on the go! We would definitely recommend the French bread, it was fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside, exactly how you would want fresh French bread to be! Would totally recommend stopping by, and I will certainly be returning when I'm back in SF!

On this block of Fillmore is a record vinyl store, this cafe, and Alamo Square Seafood Grill. I hadn't walked by this cafe. I saw it on Yelp somehow and I decided to take a bus ride passed Alamo Square to check out this cafe. The cafe has some bagels, sandwiches, and cafe drinks at an okay price. I got a matcha latte today for $6. The sandwiches look fun. This scene had some loud socializing ladies sitting together until they left the scene.

Crappuccino, ok plain breakfast bagel, eggs, bacon, cheese ~$16

The breakfast sandwiches were incredible and fairly priced. Cute local spot. We walked from here to the painted ladies and ate in the park.

But when you want a sandwich that only tastes like its ingredients, Irving Subs is the spot. Their Dutch crunch is famous for being fresh and actually crunchy. Their lettuce is shredded but fresh and crispy. The salt content is just enough to bring out the flavors. And the overall composition of their sandwiches are very well proportioned. You're not getting skimped, but you're also not biting into a mouthful of a packet of deli meat. They definitely know what they are doing. Service is good and ambiance is a small humble shop on the corner of 12th Ave.

Double pastrami, horseradish, havarti, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pickles, and pepperoncini. A lot going on, and it all came together. The horseradish and havarti gave it enough personality to stand apart from a standard pastrami sandwich, and the garlicky mayo tied everything together. The one casualty of DoorDash was sogginess by the time it arrived. That's not a knock on the sandwich, it's just the reality of ordering something like this for delivery. At $14.50 it's a hearty sandwich at a fair price. I'd recommend it, but eat in.

This is a cute corner shop in sunny Mission, and it's very clean and organized inside. I was the only person there when I went early Saturday morning (although I imagine it might be busier now) and I ordered the lady Gianna, which took around 10 minutes to make. The result was a delicious juicy eggplant Parm like sandwich with a nice kick as well. The fresh basil really came through. The Portobello sandwich was also a standout. Overall, the focaccia bread has a perfect fluffiness and crunch on outside and the ingredients feel fresh. Would love to come back and keep supporting this little shop!

I will definitely return to try something different to bring to my next Dolores picnic!
