Turkish Coffee with Turkish delight served on Silver Platter
    Anthony P.

I love Mediterranean -- actually, it's my favorite food. So imagine my surprise as I was driving by and saw this place -- they'd just opened this week (05/18/2026). I made a quick U-turn, and I'm glad I did. The greeter greeted me before I even walked through the door, with a genuine smile. The staff, in general, are sincere and made it an absolutely wonderful experience. Very attentive and accommodating. "They good people," as we say in the South. Thought was put into the atmosphere, from the melodic playlist playing in the background, to the art pieces on the wall, and the selection of modern, deco-functional seating (looks good and comfortable) -- not to forget the bar, being equally aesthetic. I had the Salmon Bowl for lunch, with a bed of seasoned rice (you can eat it alone -- for real, for real!), and an accompanying salad that was dressed to perfection -- no side dressing required! The salmon was seasoned and roasted on an open flame and had the perfect spice-char balance! Public Service Announcement: The Salmon was cooked to perfection, and was not dry! This speaks to quality of salmon and the Chef's skillz! That is all, resume reviewing. Then there's the accompanying "Turkish Boom Boom Sauce" (closest I can describe it) -- is phenomenal. Honestly, I had one of those moments where I loved both options -- the "seasoned enough" spice-char straight off the flame, in culinary collaboration, or drizzled with the Turkish Boom Boom sauce -- so I did both! I finished with a cup of Turkish coffee served with a Turkish Delight on a literal "silver platter" - this was an unexpected surprise - one of those moments where "i never knew I liked that" surprise - felt all "phistcated and what not" Actually, presentation from entry to plate is impressive. The chef prepared the dish with culinary precision and plated with finesse, crafting a memorable experience. They "did the thang,"y'all! Alaina'e cuisine, hospitality, and relaxing ambiance make for a signature dining experience, whether enjoyed alone or with family and friends. I'm excited to find a spot that gets my thumbs off Uber Eats and my butt seated at the table. That's no easy feat for someone that loves convenience. Bookmark not required - it's a new spot!

Often times after it's all said & done, you wonder - was that worth it? Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

WILL NEVER BE BACK!…read more HATED. EVERY. MOMENT. OF. THIS. PISS. POOR. EXPERIENCE. EVERY. SINGLE. MOMENT. VALET. NOT. FREE. I called before deciding where to eat on a Sunday afternoon to confirm parking situations. Parking is not easy downtown so this played a huge factor in figuring where, out of the dozens of brunch places, to eat. Definitely a bit of a walk to get accommodated at the actual restaurant so valet seemed the most reasonably enticing for parking solutions. Well, I called and spoke with the lady at the front desk. I confirmed with this little girl FOUR TIMES IF 1. They had valet available today 2. If it was complimentary. Come to find out it was not complimentary. And $7 for parking just doesn't sit well with me when there are ample free options else where with satisfying beverage, meal, ambiance, and service. All of which, I DID NOT GET AT HAYWIRE. I come in and although I had a reservation that I was 10 minutes early for while noticing tables available, I was told by that same girl who lied to me about parking I needed to take a seat. Reassuring me that it would only take two minutes to be seated. 10 minutes later I see coupled and groups walking in and guess what? They were immediately sat. While I am waiting to be sat at one of the three clean tables I'm staring at. I finally tell my boyfriend I am about to eat at the bar and he goes to the hostess stand to inform them our frustration and guess what? We were sat immediately. I get seated and there are two standing fans placed next to my table that's blowing my hair all over the f*****g place. I had to tell them to turn them off. What? No AC in this place either?? We immediately ordered and got the elk tacos for an appetizer. The tacos are WAY too spicy and way too salty. Too spicy AND too salty?? They're a no for me. You literally can't taste anything because of both! I HATED these little tacos. Probably the worst I've ever had. Ever seen someone attempt to pinch a bit of salt to season and the entire top comes off?? These tacos. My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak. He loved it (loves spicy and seasonings because he's Cajun) but I tried it and it was over seasoned. Again? Couldn't taste what I was eating. The mashed potatoes were divine. Enjoyed those! And then the green beans were tasteless. Hahaha what a joke. I ordered the barbacoa chilaquiles and it was literally too spicy to eat. Inedible. My eyes teared up, my nose started running, and I couldn't taste anything after a couple bites of the spice. I was so f*****g over this place I just ate my boyfriend's mashed potatoes and we left. If I had it my way, I wouldn't have paid for a thing here. They don't deserve our money and I HATE they got a cent from me. I'm livid. I hate this place W I L L N E V E R B E B A C K

However, my experience this past Saturday wasn't quite up to the usual standard. Although my server, Kate, did her best and was attentive in taking my order, the overall service seemed a bit off. The kitchen appeared to be short-staffed, yet there were plenty of servers standing around instead of helping out as a team. I believe teamwork is crucial in creating a smooth dining experience. After waiting nearly 30 minutes for my appetizer, I had to send back the gator bites because they were served cold. With a bill of over $230 before tip, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect prompt, hot food. I tried to be understanding--having worked in the service industry myself--but there's definitely room for improvement on the coordination between staff and the bar. To their credit, once the food did arrive, everything was hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious--exactly what keeps me coming back. One small disappointment was that, unlike with the table next to us, a manager never stopped by to apologize for the earlier issues at our table. Even with the hiccups, the food itself still deserves five stars. It's hard to give a place like Pappadeaux's anything less when the flavors are that good.

Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen…read more Friday afternoon lunch was not the best experience. I guess the professional server is a dinosaur theses days. Apparently, Pappadeaux's has had to pull from a a bad pool of applicants. While my server was friendly, she was either overwhelmed or just plain forgetful. I ate a few gator bites that arrived with bread service (which was completely out of order) before I asked for a container to transfer them to so they would not be soggy from the pool of sauce they were in. When she finally resurfaced, it was too late. I had already transferred them to the bread plate to save them. She did apologize. The shrimp & crab cobb salad is a standard for me and the last two times I have been disappointed. They changed it to a wedge of iceberg lettuce. The wedge used to be what appeared was a 1/4 head of lettuce. Now it looks like they have increased the yield and now get 8 wedges from a single head of lettuce. For a $30 salad of nutritionally dense iceberg, this is ridiculous! The wedge looked more like a slice of lettuce. The shrimp were cut in half, and there was an excessive amount of grape tomatoes. The toppings far outweighed the lettuce. If you're not going to cut the lettuce up, then do not cut my shrimp either! Very disappointed! After asking the server for the bill and to-go containers, she disappeared again. I thought it was shift change. I had to ask a manager who was taking a complaint from the table next to me. They too, were upset about the level of service from the same server. I let the manager know as well, "at these price points the service is not up to standard". She apologized but never asked for details. What kind of hospitality manager responds this way??? Now Im super pissed! I thought the FOH mgmt was subpar at Richardson (which is specifically why I drove further to Oak Lawn), but Oak Lawn has them too. I am done w/Pappadeaux's. It costs too much to have to experience this type of service and and clueless mgmt. There are burger joints with better service.

The potato purée somehow managed to be both watery and bland, which feels like a choice. The scallops? Same story. Technically flawless sear, zero flavor. It's almost impressive how consistently everything coming off the fish station looked perfect and tasted like air. The pea risotto was aggressively one-note--just peas, no balance, no depth, none of that creamy, cohesive richness risotto is supposed to have.
