Been driving by this place for years without noticing it. Then was waiting at red light one day and noticed the "Alaskan Fish & Chip" sign and got curious and decided to give them a try. Ordered the seafood combo for $12.49. Came with 1 fish, 2 jumbo shrimps, 2 scallops and 1 oyster with chips (fries). The batter was very good and crispy. Fish was flaky, scallops were about quarter sizes, oyster was ok, the star of the combo was the jumbo shrimps ...they were huge (size of onion ring) and very tasty. Fries were whatever, just fillers. Their tartar and cocktail sauces were yummy. Overall, very good tho a little on greasy side (fried food after all). read more

I was anxious to try Alaskan Fish and Chips. Unfortunately for me I didn't check my order before leaving. I ordered a two piece fish and chips. I got home and I got everything but the 2 pieces of fish. I called and drove all the way back. Told the older Asian lady what happened and she argued with me. She said she gave them to me. We went back and forth and finally she gives me my fish BUT She told me she KNOWS I am a Liar. I have never had a experience like that in all the years I have have been a consumer. The prices for what you get are reasonable! I got the 2 piece fish & chips for $7.50. The portions were very generous and the fish & chips did NOT disappoint! Crispy and not too much breading. Smaller than average portions, higher prices, long wait times and an uninspired atmosphere simply do not live up to the place's old reputation. It's the only real alternative to H. This place knows how to cook fish and chips. Been going there for years and the food has always been great. Check out all the menus behind the counter, on the counter, and on the wall. I honestly haven't eaten at this place since it was H. Salt Fish & Chips. A friend recommended this place and, after seeing 5 stars, decided to give it a try. I ordered the 2 pieces fish, 2 large shrimp & fries. It was DELICIOUS! Freshly made, the fish was not skimpy and the batter was thin and crisp. The shrimp was equally good and their cocktail sauce, though a little different than the standard, had a nice spicy kick to it. My aunt really liked her fish as well. I ordered a popcorn chicken with 7.5$ here but popcorn chicken is really bad and taste like a whole sale frozen chicken in costco. I can't even eat that. No sauce come with it. If you want to get sauces, you have to pay extra money for it. It's not worth at all. read more

It wasn't the original H Salt anymore but I guess the food is the same. The place is not very comfortable to dine in. It's kind of hot inside. They just use a big Electric Fan. It's a bit hot especially in summer time. I suggest you order take out instead if you want to enjoy your food in a comfortable setting. Price of food is quite decent. read more

Ordered off of door dash the food was just down right bland and horrible. The fish alone was very bland and soggy no crisp to the fish, even though the photo makes it look appetizing. I really hate to do this but I must revise my earlier review...and I can't help it. I've eaten here like twice since my original review to satisfactory results....but tonight? Not good...pick up the fish & the molten hot center oozed out,batter stuck to fries,next fish-same thing! Got to the shrimp & they were just saturated grease sponges. Fries? You know the rest....why? not gonna lie before it was changed to Alaskan fish and chips i had gone to this place way to many times due to it being in the route to my old house and Westminster highschool but i can safely say that after 5 years this place has not changed at all and is still the great old school fish and chips that I the usual combo I get is seafood combo but replace oysters with more scallops and a side of hushpuppies and calamari with pepsi but not the questionable cup but in a can the atmosphere is very northwestern like a fusion of Alaska, Oregon, California the owners are always on top of their game and are still working there the service is still amazing as always. read more

This restaurants was previously H. Salt Fish & Chips. It's the same menu, same decor, same ambiance, etc. Fish is still good. The menu has a few more items than I remembered from my last visit.
