Diced Steak
Kevin V.

Saw this place was soft opening their new location when I was getting a haircut and thought I'd try it out. The service was nice and the diced steak I got was a very good price for the amount of food. Whoever made my food made it with real love because the flavors were so good. It didn't feel too fatty and the sauce was delicious. I'll definitely stop by again when I'm nearby.

This place is Amazing! Had the pleasure of trying their delicious bbq chicken the quality was superb, the chicken was so juicy. Can't wait to come back and try some of the other menu items. Thanks for the hospitality:)

garlic lime chicken, and angus beef, beef is better, would want to try another chicken flavor since it's charbroiled grilled

Moved to La La Kitchen 1.5miles away, the menu is exactly the same and talked to the staff and they said they moved about a month ago. Seems like they merged with that business and the name Tray Fusion Grill isn't seen on the menu but Lala Kitchen is. Exact same menu though and pictures. It's actually quite large, larger than your face even if you're a big back lol, and the amount of meet you get is more than you'd get for the same $ spent elsewhere even though it does look very simple. You're here for actually good teriyaki/chargrilled meats which it delivers on. Pictured is garlic lime chicken, and angus beef, beef is better, both of us agreed upon that, would want to try another chicken flavor since it's charbroiled grilled - the garlic lime is a little more lime than garlic and it doesn't quite fit with how chargrilled it is fwiw. INTERESTING NOTE is the sauces, we actually swapped them since the beef was sweet, the spicy sauce that supposedly went with the garlic lime was good to contrast. And VICE VERSA, the sweet bbq sauce was good on the garlic lime for contrast as well. Was 2 meals worth unless you just did some deadlifts at the gym then maybe I could eat the whole thing if my body was primed. WAIT: did take a solid 10-15 minutes to order so be prepared to wait but it seems like they make it to order fresh then! Maybe this will get refined later as they settle down in the new kitchen - not sure but seems like the businesses merged / are sharing space under one name. Very interesting.

Very fresh delicious food. Friendly staff. Great beef jerky for sale. Its a take out spot, no dining. Still worth it.

Mango Habanero Chicken Salad

This is seriously delicious, guys. I don't know how you do it. I haven't been here for awhile since they were closed which made me very disappointed but I just happened to be driving by and noticed the sign. I love the mango Habanero and reordered it. Still tastes amazing. There are some really talented cooks back there. The chicken is juicy and tender. The mango Habanero sauce is the perfect blend of spicy and sweet. The only downside is that it's far from me. You guys really need to open a Fountain Valley location.

If you are looking for flavor, you have found it! So many different options for every one! I highly recommend the spicy garlic lime chicken. It's definitely got a kick to it but it's so good! They also have sparking drinks with boba! The strawberry one was so good!

Lunch

Tried this local restaurant for lunch and walked away very happy. And honestly surprised. I've had so many bowls and trays where the chicken is over cooked and dry which is not the case here. Their chicken is very juicy and flavorful! You can tell they just grilled the meat in the kitchen! I'm loving the heat the sauces give off too! The staff is super friendly and full of energy. The restaurant is bright and clean. The menu is sure to have something you like. They offer a full range of flavor choices as well as a large list of refreshing drinks! They food comes out fast and hot, so if you need a quick yummy meal in GG this is your place! They also prepare take away. There is a small amount of parking in the front but plenty around the side of the building so don't shy away if you can't find parking.

Mango habanero plate
Rowy F.

This was my go-to before they shut down and reopened. Mango habanero chicken was good. I ordered the plate and they said they ran out of the containers but that it was the same amount as a plate. I was a little upset to find just chicken and rice for a PLATE. Where were the veggies? Unimpressed. It was too much rice for me, I like a mix of veggies in there, at least for $15. The cashier also said the wait time was 10 min but it was closer to 20. I vaguely remember ordering over the phone years ago and having the same wait time problem. So doesn't make a difference if you call ahead or order in person in my experience. The lobby is smaller. No chairs to sit in. My coworker is 8months pregnant and we had to stand for a long time.

Mango habanero chicken bowl.

The mango habanero bowl is so delicious. I've had this bowl multiple times and each time is just as good as the last if not better. The quality of the chicken is cooked perfectly including the sauce on the chicken. The white rice is always fluffy and pairs perfectly with the chicken. Staff is always friendly and has my phone orders ready in a timely manner.

Update menu October 2024

When I say that this is the best chicken spot in OC I mean it The food is worth 10 times the price and the people here are always so friendly and nice Call in advance to make sure they're open Once you try it once you are hooked for life! And try the orange sparking drink My go to is the mango habanero plate or the bbq chicken place Update menu in the picture

Ask the Community - The Tray Fusion Grill

Are you guys officially reopen as The Tray? The last time I went, the place was under Good Times management and had no chicken plates or bowls. I was so sad... Good Times food wasn't as tasty as The Tray.

Hi Allie, thank you for your inquiry. We are now back with The Tray chicken bowls and plates. It's the same premium BBQ as before and the same ownership. You're welcome to stop by anytime. Looking forward to seeing you soon.

Will you ever reopen?

Hi! We are open now! (4/25/2024)

When do you reopen?

Hi Inland, We will be open next week with some new items for you. Thank you for waiting.

What is going on, is this place ever going to reopen? Every week it gets pushed back when they are opening

Thank you for your inquiry. We will be back on Tuesday 1/25/2022. We apologize for the inconvenience. This was a direct result from the ongoing labor shortages and supply chain issues.

Is this place closed? I've visited twice and they aren't open during their business hours.

They are re-opening 11/21!

Long awaited review as I have been coming here for decades. There are so many markets all over…read moreLittle Saigon, however, I keep gravitating here. Seems to me, it is less crowded than other markets. (If I can avoid crowds, I will). It was Tet New Year season and I needed to get a few ingredients for some dishes I planned to cook. My first priority was the fresh oxtail in the meat department. I have gone to many markets for this cut and it seems this is the best place for a ~2 pound tray of mixed size tails. The fat is all trimmed off, as opposed to other markets that leave a fat layer behind that you are paying for. It also depends on if you prefer leaner tails. Next, the produce section. I picked up some cailan (Chinese broccoli). For the most part, the Asian veggies are pretty fresh - since there is a higher turnover rate of Asian veggies in this area. It was good on this day. So many varieties of green veggies, I love it! The fruit section is also pretty impressive. Papayas, guanabana, dragon fruit, pommelo, tangerines, korean pear, manzano bananas,...Not your ordinary apples and oranges. Dry goods include a plethora of rice, including Thai sweet rice, Japanese rice (perfect for sushi rice), red rice (known for high fiber and low glycemic index)... Who likes Chinese Style sausage? Me! It is called Lap Xuong, in Vietnamese. I love making Thai sweet rice and serve with thinly sliced Lap Xuong - my mom fed us kids this often! And yes, they have a good supply of this here, so stock up, it will last forever in the pantry. Vietnam is the world's second largest coffee producer. You will see the crazy amount of coffee products sold here, for example, Vinacafe. Most are packed as individual serving packets which includes cream and sugar. Too convenient for consumption! Also perfect to have in your pantry. You shall be impressed with the chili aisle. Sambal of all kinds. You can make an awesome pot of chili with this heat! Lots of Lunar New Year items too. I am sure there are still some left for purchase if you didn't have a chance to pick some up yet. They do have a liquor department too. Asians can drink iykyk. If you do, please don't drink and drive. Parking is ok, if you go shopping off peak hours. Market is on Beach Boulevard and it could get pretty busy so plan wisely. So enjoy your visit. It is always fun to discover a new product and try something you have never eaten before!
