I've been seeing a lot of reviews similar to this, so I wanted to warn others. This company was good at first. Picked out a fridge and was delivered in the next few days no issues. However, we immediately had a problem with the fridge and freezer cooling. The guy said he would come in a few days to fix it because he needed to order a part. After that, I did not hear back for a week and he never gave me a date he would come back and fix it. I had to call multiple times and that process was frustrating. He did end up coming to replace a major part. Shouldn't they check this before selling to someone? Now it has been 4 MONTHS of having this fridge and it is completely broken again. Their warranty is 45 days for a reason. What a waste of money and time. read more

Business is all about the customer: what the customer wants and what they get. Generally, every customer wants a product or service that solves their problem, worth their money, and is delivered with amazing customer service. I contacted Alberto's appliances last week because they came and installed a washer and dryer and did an expert job about 2 years ago. After 2 years, my washer bit the dust and it was time for another. I decided to become a repeat customer because the first time when I called around, they were the low cost provider with excellent reviews, and provided delivery service at no additional cost. Additionally, my son Mike has been buying appliances from them for 9 years without issue, back from their days of selling straight out of a garage before they got a warehouse. My son recommends dealing with Luis directly, if possible, because of his excellent customer service skills. Customers don't expect you to be perfect. They do expect you to fix things when they go wrong. On my second time doing business with them, there was a problem of excessive shaking on the washer that was delivered. Luis was quick to offer a solution in bringing out a different washer to me. This was done expediently and with a very friendly demeanor by my deliveryman, Mike.   Alberto's appliances follows my credo on customer service to the T. A customer is the most important visitor on your premises, he is not dependent on you. You are dependent on him. He is not an interruption in our work. He is the purpose of it. He is not an outsider in our business. He is part of it. We are not doing him a favor by serving him. He is doing us a favor by giving us an opportunity to do so. read more

My washer crapped out on me and the dryer wasn't far behind. Searched Facebook marketplace and these guys popped up so I sent my boyfriend to check it out (figuring an actual store with warranty was a much lower risk than another Facebook or Craigslist purchase). They had tons of options and we ended up buying a matching Kenmore set for $425. We were within the 20 mile mark so they delivered, installed, and hauled away our old set the next day for FREE. Appointment was set for 4pm but they didn't get there until around 5:30pm due to traffic and being backed up on deliveries. He was still in and out within an hour so I had no complaints. He tested everything out before leaving and let us know if anything was wrong they'd take care of it. When the day comes to replace this set we'll definitely be going back. read more

I just found them (directly behind Johnstone supply) they offer a good selection at fair prices and provide a 45 day warranty and free delivery to central Austin. That beats Craig's list and Facebook and most of their competitors. read more

Bad experience, business has good intentions. We had the money to buy new, but decided to buy at Albertos to support local, save money, and get more bang for our buck. We bought an $800 Whirlpool set that we were stoked about. The delivery truck got in an accident on the way to our house and our washer didnt even turn on when they got there. They took this set away and asked us to come pick out a new pair. We found some LG's that were of similar price range and they delivered those next-day. Upon install, the dryer wasn't putting out hot air. GREAT. They said that a technician would be back later that day to check it out. We waited for a few hours and the tech actually did get it to work by replacing the thermostat. The dryer worked for a few days but when we tried to use the "steam" option, it sounded like it was going to explode and got really hot. They offered to swap out for yet another pair, but we have a baby on the way and don't really have time to waste on exchanging what would have been a third combo and a 4th visit. They agreed to refund me my money and scheduled a pick up of the washer/dryer. Ill say that the company did have great customer service and situations like this can happen, especially with repaired/refurbished equipment. I think it was just a bad luck of the draw for us but I can say that they should really be testing out all the equipment thoroughly before selling it. read more

Showed up to look at my lid lock on my washer. Michael diagnosed it in about 5 seconds, gave me a very reasonable price (some of the places just try too hard to rip you off, and they may get me once, but they get no repeat business). Their repair guy, Louis, who also happens to be their delivery guy, showed up as promised to take a look at our washer. He had the leaky door and shaking issues fixed in less than an hour (turns out the door had been slightly bent, and there were some loose screws inside the machine that had been overlooked before, no big deal). He would have been done sooner, but he stuck around long enough for a rinse and spin cycle to make sure the machine was truly fixed. I gotta hand it to the guy-- my 2 year old bugged the crap out of him the whole time, wanting to get a look at things and show him this and that, but he was really awesome about it. As I said before, I won't hesitate to go here for all of our future appliance needs! read more

Very nice people who sell refurbished appliances. We have bought a few appliances here and have been satisfied. It really isn't a bad part of town, just working class. I have always felt perfectly safe coming here. Maybe not the very best prices in town for a used appliance, but very reliable. I trust them. read more

Pros: - very very affordable working appliances. I was expecting to spend $800 on a washer and dryer by looking at other prices on Craigslist and after taxes I came out spending half of that on both! - nice, friendly and knowledgable. I didn't know much about washer and dryers and they helped me pick the right one for my apartment. - free delivery! I live with in the radius but was afraid if they could deliver. They do charge per floor. I live on the third. But I think it was maybe an extra 20 bucks for that? I can't remember. But well worth it. I would not have been able to do it or have the means to move the two appliances up two floors by myself. Cons: - hidden - just to be clear, you are buying USED appliances for the most part. I have to say that I was nervous but from the reviews on Yelp I decided to give it a shot. My dryer once plugged in was not heating up. They give you a free 30 day warranty. I called and with in the next day they had someone come out, look and fix it with in maybe 20 to 25 minutes. It works great now! I would highly recommend this company to anyone else. My parents had bought from a different company of used appliances and they said it was a nightmare. I checked Yelp and sure enough they had terrible reviews. I live in a 3rd floor apartment (with no elevator) in NW Austin, and they only charged me $25 for delivery. Not to mention - same day delivery! We needed cheap and working washer dryers for the house we rented for a year. We got a well functioning GE washer dryer installed and delivered with parts for $240 total. They didn't look pretty, but we didn't care. They were infinitely cheaper than anyone else out there. At the end of our lease, we just wanted the w/d hauled off because we didn't want to take them with us, & the new tenants didn't need them. Alberto's came and hauled them off for us as well for free, which was a life saver. Great experience! read more

Meh. Trying to support a local business, but so much for good intentions. Ended up being a waste of time. This place is way out of the way if you live in central Austin and hard to find. Google took me to the wrong place first, then once i used an old fashioned map I still drove past it twice since its off the main road, and all the neighborhood construction didn't help. It was smaller than I expected. DIdn't see much exciting. Opened the door to a Bosch frontloader since I read online they were pretty good and got nearly knocked over by the smell of mold. You could actually see the spots all around the rim. Briefly met Alberto, he seemed nice but he was busy with another customer. I was running late since it took me so long to find the place and the mold thing grossed me out, so I left. Still on a hunt for a washer. Wish ADI hadn't closed last year. My washing machine spin cycle crapped out about 2 days after initial delivery. As advertised, I simply called and they came out the SAME day to repair it. When the Technician arrived, he couldn't repair it on site and so they gave me a loaner while they fixed it. No extra charge of any sort. I've had their appliances for more than a month and couldn't be happier. I will definitely return and recommend. Superb Customer Service! read more

Great deals, friendly service, and they deliver! Got a washer/dryer for under $200. They're older models, maybe from the late 80's. There were more expensive, newer models available. I asked which was the most reliable and they recommended the older ones, said they were better built and lasted longer. I have experienced the same thing with dishwashers. Have had them for 3 months, heavy use, no problems. Did not have to use any of their warranties or repair services. Delivery and installation was cheap and they showed up when they said they would. It's a hard to find place -- very old, worn, hand painted, plywood sign. Don't let that fool you. They're very nice and run a good business. Will be coming back for an office fridge. read more

I'm a single female, just moved to TX and went looking for a used washer/dryer. The guys at Alberto's were more than nice and helpful. Just to make sure I wanted to purchase there, I went to Affordable Appliances too. I was in there for ten minutes looking at their overpriced, not nearly as nice machines and two people came in with complaints about their purchases. It wasn't even the complaints so much that bothered me, it was listening to how the staff handled the complaints. Needless to say, I went back to Alberto's. Don't let the location or their sign out front deter you. They have some very nice refurbished machines at great prices! The washer and dryer were delivered the next day to my 3rd story apartment. Richard was very careful bringing them up the stairs and into the house. A couple days later after I had the complex hook them up, I thought I had a problem with my dryer. I called Richard and he was out to the house within a couple of hours to fix it. Ended up it was an operator error on my part and the machine was working fine. Both the washer/dryer have had a work out since the movers had a fire on their truck and all my linens and clothes were smoke damaged. They work great. I couldn't be happier with the guys there or the appliances. I highly recommend them! read more

We had an appointment set at 3:30. The technician leaves me a voicemail at 1pm asking to come earlier because HIS schedule freed up earlier. I get back to him at 2pm just to have him tell me he may have to reschedule because he's off work now although we have a 3:30 scheduled. I had to call the office to find out that they had actually canceled my appointment. The owner says it's because of an emergency. I literally just spoke to the actual technician who said he was done working for the day. What BS about an emergency. These guys a are a joke. Don't expect them to keep their word or even tell the truth. Avoid. read more

Went in based on their yelp reviews, I was not disappointed. The day I showed up they had a wide selection of refrigerators, they were very helpful and not focused on cost, just what I wanted. They delivered all the way in LakePointe! 6 months later I had an issue, they sent a technician to fix it and it cost $45, they were there quick and stood behind their work! I recently had my Samsung refrigerator (bought from lowes) break so I called them. Great people, great service would use again in a heart beat. I have told lots of friends all used them and had the same service. read more

I was simply amazed at the speed in which he was able to come to my house and make repairs to my washing machine. He showed up on time and was able to repair what "he thought" was the problem. Sadly it seems there was more wrong with the washer. He offered to take 100% of the money that I used on the repairs and put it towards a used washing machine he had in stock. I only needed to pay $50 more. He stated it would be the same make and model. I said hell I can't lose on this one let's give it a shot. Come to find out he did bring out a Kenmore but it was not a Kenmore elite like the one I had. I expressed my displeasure to the delivery man. And he couldn't really care less. In the end I do have a working washing machine for the same amount that I was willing to spend on repairs! The delivery person told me I have 30 day warranty. Let's just hope that it holds out for more than 30 days. I will be returning to his services in the future if I ever need them. He was nice honest and straightforward. I would recommend his services. The reason for four stars and not five is due to the fact that I received a Kenmore not a Kenmore elite. read more

I found exactly what I wanted, fridge and washer/drier set, and was done appliance shopping in 15 minutes. Sales staff is great. And maybe I was lucky, but it seems like they always are getting new (used) things in. And when the ice machine wasn't working after delivery, a repair man came out the next week, ordered the part, and then came back with the part to fix it. Be prepared to call a few times to check on things, because they are very busy. But once you have an appointment they show up and get the job done for free while it's under warrantee, no hassle at all. And even beyond the warrantee period. My drier stopped tumbling just after the warrantee ended and they sent someone out for free to fix it anyway. And while the repair man was trying to figure out what was wrong, he said he'd replace the drier if he didn't find the solution. But he did figure it out and all was fixed very quickly. Repair staff is great, friendly and courteous. I highly recommend both sales and service. My friend had a very similar experience too with purchase and service of a washer drier set. read more

Initially, I had a great experience with Alberto's when a technician came to my house to diagnose my old washing machine. He recommended that the cost of fixing the washing machine was greater than the cost of purchasing a refurbished washer from their store, which I did in Dec 2019. I didn't experience any issues within the 45 day warranty window, but the machine began to leak extensively in May 2020. I called Alberto's 3x's within a two week period to see if they could send a tech to diagnose the leak and help with repairs. I had to chase them down for a follow up, so I went with another local repair company, identified the issue was a tear in the door boot, called Alberto's back again to see if they could install a new door boot...crickets and no follow up. Now, I find myself (late June 2020) with what appears to be a complete lemon of a washing machine due to additional issues that have cropped up and the cost of repairs will be more expensive than buying a brand new washer. I've never posted a negative review on yelp, and it saddens me to do so, but I'm so very disappointed in the product and service I've received. You just lost what could have been a very loyal customer. read more

I came into Alberto's on a Saturday an hour before they were closing. I looked over everything that they had to offer. They have a lot of late model appliances for very low prices. Then they have some very new very good brands at decent prices. I got a brand new still in the plastic LG washer and dryer for $800. I would've paid $1400 anywhere else for them. I guess they were dented and said they were dropped off there and I happen to walk in at the best time. Although I wasn't looking to spend that much money I felt like it was a good buy. The washing machine doesn't have a center agitator, and I've never seen a washing machine this fancy. It actually weighs itself and balances itself. Super fancy. Very quiet. Very sleek. Much more than I thought I would get or was looking for. It was a very good experience they delivered it exactly when they said they were going to deliver it. The delivery guy was prompt, polite and did a great job installing it for me. I highly recommend this place. They have a nice large stock. Great experience. read more
