ordered a pie and a hero at 6:40 pm wednesday, waited til 8:15 after calling twice to be told "any minute now". pizza arrivered and i felt the bottom of the box and it was as cold as my ex's heart. last time i called, the 4 pizzas i ordered were delivered to my neighbor's house. This place has awesome pizza. Both round pies and Sicilian pies are a good choice. The only thing that disappointed me was that it took a while for anyone behind the counter to help me even though they saw me standing there. Alberts Pizza is all about one thing: The Upside Down Pizza (or Upside Down Slice)!!! Meaning, its not your traditional round pie with sauce on the bottom and cheese on the top cut into triangles.. It's a rectangle pie made with the cheese on the bottom and the sauce on the top cut into smaller rectangles, but actually tastes BETTER than a regular slice to me!! Delicious! Honestly so disappointing. Every single pizza place on the island will give you a soda cup filled with cold cheese. When we specifically asked for a soda cup of cold cheese, we were charged for it but only got a dixie cup of extra cheese. I dont know whats happening with this place lol. Anyways, I've used delivery with them thru the slice app quite a few times and generally had no problem and pizza would arrive quickly (within 30 to 40 mins) This time around the experience left a bad taste. I left specific instructions that were always the same from previous orders. It took an HOUR and 10 minutes for it to arrive. I live 8 minutes down the road. A pie only takes 15 to 20 minutes to make. I regret not picking it up. When i got it the pie was completely wrong and cheese looked stiff from sittin around too long. Rolls and knots room temp. Forgotten marinara sauce for rolls as well. "Didnt see that on the paper" says delivery guy. Who was nice and i gave him 5 bucks anyway even tho it was a late delivery. Used slice app to report issue with the pie and they called restaurant who said they will deliver a replacement pie free of charge. 1 hour later ...nothing. i called slice again expressed my familys and mine frustration and was refunded for the pie (but they refused to refund 2.50 delivery fee that would probably bankrupt them right? Typical long island..) Who knows if the pie was ever made. You would think it would've been priority for the business to get the new pie out to you asap! This part is not really necessary but i have to throw in my 2 cents. My husband is a gm in a mom pop quick service type restaurant. His kitchen messed up a regulars order and you know what!? They went above and beyond. Refunded the money. Replaced order. Kitchen messed up again and replaced the order and gave them 25 dollar gift card for the next time. No one else cares to go above and beyond with a nice attitude anymore. And thats partly why his place have 4.5 star on yelp out of 500 reviews....customer service is key. read more

The place is no frills. Nothing fancy inside. That being said...the sauce is the best pizza sauce I've ever had. If you like a sweet sauce, try the upside down pizza. It is so delicious!! If you want to eat pizza here, then DO NOT order for delivery. My fiancé put an order in for us at 3:15pm, on a Wednesday afternoon, and it did not arrive to us until 4:40pm! Hell, even Dominos delivers quicker than this place! The pizza and garlic knots were ice cold. For a place that makes pretty good pizza, you'd think they wouldn't take that long to deliver a pizza. Especially when it's a Wednesday afternoon. I could have taken a train to Penn Station and the pizza still wouldn't have been delivered. Just horrible, horrible service. They get two stars because the pizza and garlic knots are decent. If you want good pizza, but from someplace that delivers in a timely fashion, then order from Eddie's pizza in Ronkonkoma or from Mama Angelina's in Hauppauge. I ordered the black and blue burger al-zone and I was very disappointed. They used cheap blue cheese dressing instead of blue cheese and it gave the sandwich an unpleasant, tangy taste. The "burger "was slices of some kind of chopped meat, maybe meatballs. I tried to scrape the dressing off but was unsuccessful so I fed the sandwich to the dogs because I didn't like the taste. The pasta fagioli was nothing like my grandma 's. It was overly salty chicken broth with mushy beans, over cooked pasta and a few pieces of celery, carrots and tomato. Waste of money. This is a pretty good pizza place. Very similar to places I frequented in NJ. Friendly staff, though on some days I found the dining area to be really a mess -which is a turn off. They make a vegetarian special pie for me on request- not bad-fresh mushrooms and onions and peppers. The garlic knots are not so good -so I'd skip those. One of my employee's ordered the Mellisa (With Prosciutto). They decided to deliver a hard roll with Ham on it! When she called to ask for another sandwich a young man answered and refused to let her or I speak with a manager. He said he made the sandwich himself and put Prosciutto on it!
