I had an AMAZING experience today my first time to this location. Arianne was a delightful pleasure. From the start, I noticed how detail oriented she was. She was working extremely hard & greeted every single person that passed by. LITERALLY EVERYONE! My phone died and I frantically needed help with directions because I'm from Houston. Awful deli, I ordered fried chicken, potato wedges, and onion rings. The chicken and potato were bone dry, so dry and disgusting I threw them away after a few bites. This is my new local grocery store. Just moved up the street and so it's a 10 minute walk down the road. This store is huge and is well stocked with pretty much everything necessary to fill the fridge and then some. Reasonable prices, cheaper than most other grocery chains such as Ralphs or Vons. You just have to know how yo shop the aisles and compare pricing. Great bakery choices, watch the pricing though, I noticed some items are priced a couple bucks above comparable items at Ralphs, my previous store. As for the rest, a very good choice of most items, extensive deli, great fruit department and lots of floral items and random things like patio furniture etc. Almost as important are the friendly employees at checkout. Came in on 8.4.17 at 530pm to check out the sushi next to produce and buy some babys breath from floral. The sushi was absolutely delicous, fresh, and affordable! Definitely coming back for more. As for the floral department, not so good of an interaction. The lady was rudely "nice" and brushed me aside. My guess there were some in the back and just didn't want help me. I don't know what's up with this location being such short staffed. Usually only 2 lines open with tons of customers. Then a cashier opens up a lane, I'm clearly next in line and people in back of me were taken first. I got my husband's birthday cake here and received many compliments. Before you instantly pass judgment on getting a cake from a grocery store I suggest you give this Albertsons a try. I really wanted to get a photo cake for my Husband's 30th Birthday and after scouring the internet and yelp I didn't come up with very many choices. My mom had suggested I try Albertsons and my instant reaction was heck no. Well after spending several hours trying to find someplace close to Fullerton that was reasonably priced and could make a photo cake I was left with no other choice. I brought in my design and the bakery was very helpful. The cake looked good and was delicious. I was completely shocked by how good it was and how cheap it was (under $50 for a 1/2 sheet). I got compliments on the cake from the majority of the guests and everyone kept asking me where I got it. I was a little embarrassed to admit Albertsons and when I told people they laughed and didn't believe me. I'm not saying it was the best cake ever, but it was pretty good, especially considering the price. They have a variety of cake, frosting and filling options including fresh fruit. I suggest the marble cake with whipped cream and fresh strawberry center. If you are looking for a reasonably priced cake that you can put a picture or graphic on I suggest you give this Albertsons a try. read more

This is a great location, the staff are friendly and accommodating. Always fresh produce and a good selection. I am currently loving the monopoly game and many of their products give you a bonus ticket . They tend to have good sale prices too. Minus one star for their incredibly small organic section of produce. Also it seems their chicken quality (breasts) needs an upgrade. To end on a good note the meat department is great and always super motivated to give you good service. They hook me up with plenty of soup bones for my dog and give advice where they can. I got a whiff of the milk the milk this morning... OOOOeeee it was bad. I needed to make an executive decision to dump the milk. Of course, I forgot all about it... until I got home and started to make dinner which took, 1 1/3rd cups of MILK. Doesn't this remind you of a saying... "A Day Late, A Dollar Short...?" Or maybe it's the Murphy's Law Theory-um (the often not-so-fun manifestation found as evidenced of the theory that if it can go wrong... not only will it... but it will with a vengeance) hard at work. Did ya get all that? Well, to make a long story short, I went to Albertsons to purchase the milk. I only needed a few items and Albertsons was a much closer drive with waaaay shorter lines than Stater Bros, my usual grocery store. I get there and walk past the baskets cuz I figure I am only here for milk, right? I find myself amidst a bunch of their specials PLUS I got a lot of cool stuff from the bins mark-down section. I was excited about my spoils... I think I am a secret, thrifty frugalho; I just can't see spending money on things that I don't have to, and if it's something we're gonna use, then it's worth it to me to get the items on sale. I took all of my newfound treasures to the front. I was so excited. I picked up T-Shirts for my son for $3. Plus, I got Buy Five with BIG savings on my granola and my yogurt. I got the dog's treats (SCORE for Buy One, Get One Free) plus a coupon for $2 off, plus some other coupons for more savings. I figured it to cost about $50... Insane! Until I got up to the cash register. She rang up the sale items and it came out to $84. EIGHTLY-FOUR DOLLARS, Are you crazy? That's wrong. Then I look up to see the line of (6 or so not-so-patient) people behind me in line, starting with a man who already has his arms crossed looking at us mightily perturbed. Great! So I start to go over a few things but the check-stand girl she wants me to pay up. No ... we have a BIG difference in the prices but she wasn't listening... so she just talks over me as I tell her that something is wrong. I don't want to have all these people standing in line while I argue with the check-stand girl. No, the check-stand Bitch. Better! I tell her that I need to go over these prices, cuz my calculations are very different. I ask her to void the sale so we don't keep people waiting. Finally she voids it out. She wants to go over all the mark-down items individually but people are getting pissy so I said, no, I'll take my stuff to the next register to count. They left me there to pick up my stuff and move it; nor did they help pull items out of the bags. I did a new count, $57, inc. tax. So I went to the self-help manager to ask for help. I explained what happened and he says he wants to see the receipt. I explained twice that it was voided. I just need to check prices and see which items are not ringing up right. He just stared at me like he had no idea of what to do. So I walked away. As I turned, I saw the manager standing there, looking ahead, avoiding me. I asked if he was a manager. He said yes. I explained what happened again, stating that I don't understand why it's a problem to a price check? Am I being Punked? He failed to acknowledge me. He said absolutely nothing. I mean NOTHING. No words came out of his mouth. He sort of smiled, and looked straight ahead. Are you kidding me Jorge? Now I am pissed. Clearly these people were ignorant of what I was asking of them because it can be done. Did they think I was upset, so they ignored me? Who stares at a Customer and flat out refuses to answer my question? I wasn't rude but I was getting angry, And shocked at the audacity that the manager was seriously ignoring me... Armed with my cell phone, ready to take pictures, I went to the Manager, Jorge. Snap. Then I went to Harvey, Step #2 of this problem who couldn't hear me, or didn't listen. Lastly I went to Check-stand Bitch. She held a receipt to my face, not at me but to block me saying I couldn't take her picture. I tried a second time, but then Jorge came back and made me leave as he stood between me her. Customer Service at this Albertsons is #8, not #1. A Repeat Customer is the BEST customer, not only because you get their business again, you have a higher chance of gaining their friends, family, and neighbors. Bad customer service on the other hand, gets you bad Yelp reviews that go out to 6,000 people! That is a win/win/win! But I gotta say that my Dec. 3rd Albertsons experience, was a Miss/Miss... Miss. I shop here often because it's conveniently located, and it's in a nice neighborhood. I like that it opens early in the morning. The prices are a bit high though. The employees in the produce and meat departments provide friendly service. However, the following departments can improve on its customer service: 1. Deli - Not very attentive. I can stand there for over 10 minutes without their noticing me as the only customer, even when I try to call out to them. Employees act like you're wasting their time; they're often in the back talking loudly. Packaging is a bit sloppy too with food sticking out of the lids. 2. Bakery - Not very service-oriented. On several occasions, I have asked for writing on my cakes. Each time I've been told that their baker was too busy to mix the colors that I wanted; I only get what they already had (blue or red). Another time I was told that the name was too long even though there was space on the cake, so I had to choose a nickname. Again, I get the feeling that I'm wasting their time. 3. Check-Out - There's one male cashier there who is more interested in conversing with other people than paying attention to what he's ringing up or greeting the current paying customer. Sometimes the conversations hold up the line, and he talks loudly which can be annoying. Unfortunately, he's usually the only cashier open. On a recent visit, the bagger also crushed most of my groceries, especially the boxed items. I get mixed feelings about my shopping experience here each time. read more

Nice, clean and attractive Albertson's. I recently used their deli and that's why I came on Yelp to review it. They make fresh sandwiches and are very generous with their deli meat. One sandwich lasted me two days. On the negative side, it takes a while to get he sandwich made because they have to freshly cut everything but it's soo worth it. There have been many helpful workers at this store. Sometimes, they don't seem as friendly at first, BUT it's just because you need to get to know them. Here are a few of the kind and helpful things the workers have done for me here: Nicola, one of the managers, was so kind. One time when I thought I lost my cell phone, she used her own cell phone to help call my cell and find it. When I was already in line a cashier named Steve grabbed a milk for me when I forgot it because he saw my hands were full with my kids. A worker in the fruit and vegetable department (I think his name was Ignacio...I'm not sure) helped me with a papaya I was deciding to buy. It looked kind of bruised on the outside, so I asked him if it was supposed to look like that. He opened up the papaya for me, and it was perfect inside, so I was able to buy it. A year ago, Jose (I think that's his name), a morning manager from before, and Martin, a floor manager, helped me with getting something I ordered for their pots / pans reward system when it was already too late to pick up. Another worker named Travis helped me get a cake from the bakery section when that area was already closed. An Asian woman worker kindly redeemed my coupon when my transaction was already paid & complete just a few days ago. I appreciate that she didn't give me a hard time about it. There are good people working in this location. You just have to get to know them and show them kindness, too. Kindness begets kindness. I'm thankful for this store. read more

I can't begin to express my frustration with their "3s a crowd" at the registers. Since they've taken away their self-checkouts, the lines have been insanely long and slow. How is it that I run in to buy one thing, grab it, and somehow I'm in the store for almost a half an hour. There isn't anything more frustrating than being in a rush, running in to grab something, and then walking up to 7 people in each lane. I've worked in similar situations, in which I totally understand when you get behind, people start to line up, your short staffed- I totally get that and am super understanding. But for the past 6 months..., it's every time I go that I'm waiting for at least 10 minutes. I live very close so I go often, but sometimes I feel like if I drove to a further store I'd get home quicker. The staff there however, is very very nice. Very personable and I love that. They have great selections of things. I love their sushi- it's really good most times. Other times, if you happen to get a roll made yesterday or been sitting out all day, it will taste stale. This is a fine place to shop for groceries, just plan ahead and give yourself an extra half an hour just in case. read more

This is my 2 favorite grocery store. Its always clean. The prices are normal. The people are really helpful, usually. I made the mistake of going there early in the morning. There was maybe 1 or 2 other people there. I get to the register, about 5 minutes after I walk in, and wait. I yell "HELLO??". This guy comes up and someone will be there in a sec. Two more minutes (feels like hours) go by, and this lady comes up. "Oh, I didnt know anyone was here. Have you been waiting long?" Was just a lil irritated, and was running late to work. I love this place!!!! When I used to live in Fullerton, this place was just down the street. I can be in here for hours! Honestly, hands down one of the best markets ever! I'll be in here so much, my friends would call me and ask me where I am. I'll reply back and say, "Albertsons." And then they'll say, "AGAIN?!" LOL. Yea, it was to the point where I started receiving Albertsons gift cards from my friends because I love to shop here. That's how much I love Albertsons in Fullerton. The store here is always clean. Things are easy to find and a lot of the employees here are helpful and nice. Once, I was making a left turn into the Albertsons plaza to go shop and then my car died, like right in the middle of the intersection on the street! Do some research and open your mind- there is no stereotypical tattooed person anymore. Maybe in another century. If you look in to it, many of my favorite public figures, CEO's, doctors, nurses, librarians, pro athletes, teachers, etc are tattooed. Please stop being so horrible to people who are guilty of nothing, except maybe walking in to the wrong Albertsons. Came in to use atm and buy a water. I believe I was followed by approximately 6 employees. Meanwhile not even one could help. I walked in located atm by front entrance to the left. Found what also looked like the restrooms, walked towards it wasn't. Turned around to ask employee for help, noticed the lady in front who refused to greet us at entrance was now 20 ft behind me following. I smiled said "good morning" and asked for restrooms, she looked at me as if I had 5 heads! Then pointed to the left and condescendingly said over there motioning to the right. I said thank you and went to the restroom. In all her PMS glory, I want to note this woman was not 17,19, not even 21 or 25. It was not PMS, it must have been menopause. She was 50, behaving like a teenager. While I was in there an employee came in and washed hands. Then turned to leave. Me (washing hands at that point) tried to say good morning and be friendly got nothing in return. She turned back in to bathrooms upon exiting and went in to the stall I was in and started flushing toilet and flipping lids to every container in there. Upon exiting 15 ft outside of door was Cashier Menopause, a security guard, and at least 3 other employees standing in a circle and snapped their heads to stare me down. Insulting. I smiled, and waltzed over to the atm. Used it. Went to fridges in front of checkout no good water options. After a few minutes and 4 employees stalking later I found the other cold water options. $1 for a life water, sweet on sale. Grab it, go back to counter and menopause was there. She rang up, $1.69. I said "hmmm, it says 99 cents over there." She responds only with a snarky 1.69. I paid and walked out. But the whole thing bothered me. I know friends who were cashiers in HS. They have to know their products and sales! She could have supplied an answer but did not want to. Either that, or she sucks at that part of her job as well. The lids on the 1L bottles are twist, not squeeze like I am used to. In my rush I grabbed the larger bottle instead of small. Taking their stocking accuracy as just that, accurate. Thanks for the help employees of Albertsons. You have hit a new low in customer relations. If you had a real career, your pathetic excuse for accommodating customers would get you fired faster than you could say 1.69. I will find out Menopause the Musical's name. I live nearby and been coming to this place for many years. I decide to write a review, because I'm tired of seeing/experiencing the lack of customer service at this store. I used to be a manger for various retail companies, and I know how important customer service is to a retail business model. Customer Service should always be in the forefront in the retail industry. For this grocery store, this place severely lacks customer service by acknowledging guests/customers by a simple greeting. We got employees just chatting away with their favorite customers but neglect to bring a simple nod/greeting to everyone in their proximity. Here is a manager tip: If you're running the kiosks, you should keep your eyes up and making sure the customers using the kiosks don't need help and coordinate the flow of traffic. (Maybe I managed a store that had kiosks :P) Starbucks staff is solid, but the cashiers/sups remain unfriendly and customer service sucks. (Yeah, I'm call you out working the kiosk today around 6pm. You been working at this store for a long time and your customer service is ALWAYS lacking from my observation) I rather go shopping in La Mirada even though it's a bit farther away then come to this place. read more

Love this pharmacy! Always so helpful! I drive 20 minutes out of my way just to come here. I have always had problems with pharmacies getting my medication approved by my insurance. They do provide a wide range of ethnic items that most grocery chain stores wouldn't. Unfortunately, they are not the cheapest. Man I really love this Albertsons. I happily drive 10-15 minutes to get there, ignoring closer places like Food4Less, Fresh & Easy, and Smart and Final. Why? Because the quality/selection at this store is just SO much better. The produce is really fresh. They have a large organics section, which is nice. I got a huge batch of dill here for only $2 and it was by far the best I've ever had. They have a nice cheese island/bar with a large variety of tasty (and sometimes unusual) cheeses. Their dry goods/brand selection is also really good. They have a lot of brands that you can't find at other stores, and the largest stock of Asian/Hispanic/Kosher foods I've ever seen at an American chain supermarket. So far the only thing I've needed but haven't been able to find at this Albertsons is an original block of Philadelphia brand cream cheese (for baking). They have other brands (as well as blocks of Philadelphia brand neufatel cheese) but not the original cream cheese for some reason. A little odd. The store is big and beautiful, but the layout is a little bit funky (pharmacy to the left, breads on the back right wall, etc). Once you get used to it, though, it isn't that bad. Not intuitive, but not bad. Certain items are a little more expensive than other supermarkets. I haven't had any of their meats so I can't comment on the quality yet. Parking is easy. There's also an Albertsons gas station out front that I've never used but always seems to have relatively cheap (ha) gas prices. All in all, I always have a good experience here. We live less than 5 minutes from this grocery store and are almost never disappointed. They stock a wide variety of products, even some of the "ethnic" products and vegetables that we usually have to go to Ranch 99 to get. Unfortunately, this variety comes at a price as Albertson's is not the cheapest store. The same fruits and vegetables I can get at Ranch 99 for $1 might go for 3x as much here, and same goes for some items that you can get at Target (in the same complex). Still not as expensive as other grocers though (Ralphs, Vons, etc.). Everything is there so it's very convenient. They even have Starbucks if you're in to that kind of thing... I see some people have complained about a lack of open registers sometimes but they've recently added the "self-checkout" stations that a lot of places have been bringing in, so that should solve that problem. One of the other things I like is that it's in the middle of an upscale neighborhood so you don't have a lot of riff raff that hang around the parking lot like other grocery stores nearby. For example, I walk around the store forever looking for sour cream only to find it in the very back, dark corner. Layouts are important in a grocery store, people. I can't say I disagree with the previous posts, but this place isn't all that bad. Are the prices much higher than most other places? Yes. However, when they do have sales or specials it's not horribly bad. Especially if you're like me and love couponing. If there are a couple things I do like about this Albertsons would be the layout. It just seems larger than most other markets and spaced out well. Everything is easily accessible and easy to find. Also I love the idea of self checkout. It's super convenient if you're in a hurry and need to just grab and go. However, there are those few people who have over flowing carts wanting to use the checkout and don't know how. PLEASE OH PLEASE just stick with the regular checkout lanes for that. I BEG YOU!! Overall, the place is clean and convenient if you live nearby. I go to this Albertson's frequently. Mostly, I just come here to get a couple of tubs of ice cream. Occasionally, I might get some Dorritos and beer. Today, this was my third stop looking for sweet vermouth and Angostura Bitters. They are basic cocktail mixology ingredients for your usual martini and manhattan and other drinks. I was shocked that the highly yelp rated liquor store and other specialty market I went to didn't cary these items. Not only that, the liquor story didn't even know what I was talking about. They claimed they are mostly known for their beers. Whatever, you're a liquor store!!!!...the word "liquor" is in your store's name!!! This review is for the lady working at the pharmacy tonight. She seemed to not know what shes doing and hates her job. At first she interrupted me when i said ill get my id and ins card. She then preceeded to tell me it will be a lil while . I asked how long and ahe said 25 min . I said ok. She asked me why i wAnred to use my rx coupon instead of my insurance. I said bcus my Dr said it was cheaper this way. I went to kill time and returned and she said the medicine was filled at cvs per the prescription. I said the prescription paper was so i can fill it here regardless or what they sent to cvs. My Dr just gave me both do i can shop for bedt price. She never gave me a price comparison if using insurance or my coupon. After 25 min she then tells me they dont have this in stock. SO INCOMPETENT AND RUDE to waste my time while im sick. Conveniently located in the Amerige shopping mall, this is a pleasant store to shop. There is plenty of parking. Store is well stocked. Clean. Employees are friendly and eager to assist. Self check out area is very cool in saving time and getting you quickly on your way!
